Battle Notes

In order to enter the battlefield you will need to bring a Star Orb, which is obtained by trading 40 Beastmen's Seals to Shami in Port Jeuno. When you are ready, trade the Star Orb to the Burning Circle inside Balga's Dais and choose to enter the battle Steamed Sprouts.

Your party will be deleveled to 40 when you do this encounter. Your party may consist of 6 members. You have 30 minutes to defeat the Dvorovoi and 7 linked Domovoi.

Strategies

You will be able to tell immediately which mob is the Dvorovoi because he is the black Mandragora standing in the middle. Most successful strategies include a Bard for Horde Lullaby. All mages and the bard should have several Yagudo Drinks to drink. Stand on the bridge without aggroing and target the Dvorovoi. Your tank(s) should have food that will provide a good defensive boost. When you zone in, buff everyone up and when ready, move to the bridge. Do NOT get too close or you'll aggro the whole lot of them.

Have your puller bring the group to the edge of the bridge. If you have a Black Mage, he/she should try to Elemental Seal/Silence the Dvoirovoi it so that it cannot cast Ancient Magic. The Bard will be focused on keeping all 7 Domovois asleep with the White Mage keeping him/her alive. Once the Dvorovoi is dead, concentrate on killing one Domovoi at a time.

yay! 5 times and got nothing. Everyone died except the last fight where 2 of us managed to escape.

Bascially we elemental seal sleepga'd the mandis and got started. But had no specific order like you mention here with regards to healing one person or dragging the whites away from the black.

Looking at the suggestions here I can see BIG TIME where we went wrong ><

The BRD we were going to take was busy so we filled his space with a BLM. Looking back I think it would have been better to not have bothered ^^

Oh well, only lost about 6k worth or yaguudo drinks and 2000 exp.

The SAM meditated at the start, and saved TP for Flood and then nailed Tachi: Hobaku. Tank for this is hilarious, mandies hit like girls!

Did this in 13 mins average 5/5 one night.

My PT setup was: PLD, WAR, DRK(me), RDM, WHM, and a BRD. The BRD went in and used Horde Lullaby on Dvorovoi to get all the Domovois to link to him. Me, the PLD and the WAR then proceeded in killing the Dvorovoi while the BRD keeps using Horde Lullaby. The WHM kept up melees alive while the RDM kept the BRD alive. My job was to cast Stun when Dvorovoi starts to cast Flood. After Dvorovoi was dead we then took out the Domovois one at a time. In the end it took us 29 minutes and 49 seconds to complete, but it was our first time doing it. We got 2 Sphenes, a Rosewood Log, a Mythril Beastcoin, a Fire Spirit Pact, and an Utsusemi: Ni. I can't wait to do this again next week. ^^

I've done this one too many times.

Best PT setup I've ever had were DRK/WAR, RNG/NIN, RNG/NIN, RDM/BLM, WHM/SMN.

I was bard.

Beat the time record and set it at around 10 minutes.

Did it 1 hour ago 4 Erase, 1 :Ni, 5 Belts, 3 Ice Spikes & and a /random of alot other high price stuff.
1st try took 20 min+ after that it went dowm to 15 min on the last go

best way to do this is bring whm,rdm,brd, pld,rng and another rng.

basically the brd uses horde lullaby on the mobs while the rangers pick them off one by one, the whm and the rdm are there to keep the brd alive so he/she can sleep the main mob (the one that casts flood) eventually the 2 rngs and the pld will have all of the mobs except the main one dead, during this ponit u are in the clear, rngs then pick off the main mob, if the rngs have their 2 hour abilitys they should use them here, if the mob readies flood the pld uses sheild bas, whm rdm and brd heal the pt at this point

used this combo many times in my LS, usually get tons of stuff :) only died one time, and that was when pld could not get sheild bash off during flood :(

Did this last night 4 times, got 1 erase.

Went Brd, whm, rdm, drg, drk, pld. We had a couple close calls with Flood but other than that nothing went wrong. The drk got the stuns off in time. Between the 4 fights I used 1 yagudo drink and 2 sweet rice cakes. The yag drink and first cake was the first fight, didn't need it. Second fight went drink free, found out I didn't need the cake either. Saved myself some money and just went in with just the goods.

Just got done with my first BCNM. We did 5 fights, won all of em thankfully, but we gave the spoils to whoever gave the orb. Two people got erase, 4 got survival belt, and I, unfortunately, got a grand total of 30k ><. We're going again on Saturday, and I hope it works out better this time ;). BTW, setup was BRD, PLD, RNG, BLM, WHM, and DRK (me). Clear times weren't that great (around 20 each time), but our BRD only died one time when our BLM got kinda gutsy and started throwing in nukes.

Well, my party and I did this BCNM last night. We were 4/5 wins. The party had:

Rdm/Blm (me)nuke
Rdm/blm Healer for brd
Whm/Blm Melee Hearler
Drk/war FLood control, DD
Nin/War Tank
Brd/Whm lol, kinda obvious

This was our strategy, the brd runs in first and gets all the mandies on him. Immediatly after that the Nin would voke the Black mage mandy. The tank, melee, and me nuking would widdle down the blm mandy, with the whm healing DD. The brd would keep the 7 mandies alsleep while we work. The nuker would juss nuke and keep the hate on the border line, and convert when needed to. The bard healer would keep the brd out of the yellow zone of hp, med when ever she is not healing the brd, and use yag drinks and convert when need. When the blm mandy starts casting flood the Drk would stun it.
After the blm mandy is dead the drk would pull one mandy at a time and we would kill it. After all are killed we would be done.

for the first three fights we were doing great.
Then during the fourth fight the brd made a mistake. All went normally then all the mandies woke up, the bard tryed to use his sleep macro, but by accidentally hit another spell macro (ballad or something). then the brd died and at was hell from then. Luckily i managed to escape.

Also during one fight the blm mandy used flood on our tank , but luckily the tank had utsusemi on and absorbed all the damage. (Flood only takes up 1 shadow)

The drops were not very great, 2 drops for phalanx, but thats all that was worth something.

EDIT- our average time for this was around 22 minutes. out best time was 19 minutes and 17 seconds, out worst was 25 min. and 35 sec.

My BCNM Party

My party consisted of whm,pld,drk,war,blm,and brd. We had 4 orbs, we were 2/4 with only 1 drop. The first 2 times the bard was killed fast because he recast Horde lullaby to quick and it woke the other mandy's and they killed him before he could cast again. The thrid time we had major success, the brd kept the mandies asleep the whole time and no one's health went past yellow. We got the erase scroll and some nice drops. The last time we tried was completley awesome but gimped. everything was good until the last 2 mandy's. The bard ended up dieing along with the whm. I voked 1 and the blm elemental seal+sleepaga and put the last 2 asleep. The blm was able to keep the last one asleep while we killed the second one. As soon as we got finished killing that one, the other woke up and i was forced to voke imediatly and fight, blm was outta mp. Needless to say myself(pld),drk,and war died leaving the mandy with about 1/4 hp left. The blm killed it with 10hp left. On his way up the ramp to the chest the time limit ran out and we were unable to open the chest. We were all madd and wanted to kick SE's ***. We praised the blm for wining but we all sulked cause no drops. I am currently farming for more seals and we will try again. Our party set up was a good one and it worked well, only change i would make would be to put a rdm instead of blm...for refresh...convert.....i think those are at lvl40....not sure tho cause we didnt have one. Good Luck to anyone trying this BCNM.

Easy, had no problems at all with this. Was my first time BCNM40 and was cake.

Setup:
DRK/WAR
RNG/NIN
RNG/NIN
RDM/BLM
WHM/BLM
BRD/WHM

Bard ran and Foe Lullaby Black Mandy, then Horde the others that run at him. White Mage stays with the Bard and heals him. DRK and 2x RNGs go fight the Black Mandy. RDM heals them. As soon as Black mandy is down DRK runs over and pulls the other mandys off the Bard. Repeat until done.

Tonight we set the record on Hades. We were going to make our 5th try the 2 hour one, but someone didn't have an orb for a 5th, d'oh.

Highlights were 2 Erases, 2 Ice Spikes, and 2 Belts.

If your Bard knows what he's doing, you're good to go. He's gonna be tanking the other Mandys while the other 3 fight one at a time. Mages should eat +MP food, and bring juice. RNG should eat curry for insane damage and DRK can eat mithkabob.

My friends and I took 5 bst and a Blm, this is the easieast way to beat this. 6/6 and do it every wednesday and when i say 6/6 I meant that night took my ranger/whm (yeah your seen right) every bst charms 1 and put it on "blackie". all others left will aggro then. so whats the ranger for well if they miss a charm u shoot them with sleep bolts and cure that person, i had 180mp on my ranger with 2 electrum rings and full RSE and a pin in the head not bad for rng
So lv your bst just for this "worth it?" yes 6/6 every time out makes it worth. You might get bad drops u might not. Hope this can help out ....Peace

my pt consisted of 2 whm 2 drk 1brd and me <thf>
we did AWESOME!!! thfs are under-rated in the BCNM department,i SATA+VB to get mandys off the brd worked like a charm ^^ and the drks stunned when they were supposed ta too :P went 5/5 runs all successful and also got 2 erase drops <goes for 400k + on my server> so give the thf's a break eh ???:P

Thats the party makups i've tried.
I've seen a video of brd, whm, drk, rng, rng, rng that did it in 8 minutes using 2 hrs.

Rangers are pretty quick with this. Tanks are overrated on this one. A blink tank is the best so Whm can just haste, silence, and cure the bard. letting the rdm toss some nukes out.

Thiefs do help a lot with pulling hate off the bard, but a good ranger can do the same with barrage or a WS.

Ok last night we did it 5 times in a row and killed them 5 out of 5....it was getting to easy :-) and we even broke the record and it is now set at 17 mins 11 secs on the Shiva server "GO TEAM".....ne1 who is reading this that was involved well done and good job

Ohhh and out of the 5 battles we got erase twice :-)

I did it my first BCNM and i did, i really did it....well we did it 4 times and did it 2 :-), but we got erase on the 4th time, but i did it!

I took my LS group to Balga's Dais to do this BCNM last night, and we went 6/6 (it was our BRD's first run as a BRD in this particular fight). Party setup was:

PLD/WAR
DRK/THF
BLM/WHM --- Melee Healer
WHM/BLM --- BRD Healer
BRD/WHM
RNG/NIN

I won't go in-depth on strategy that's been repeated numerous times here, but will offer a few pointers.

1.) Don't panic. In one run, we had pulled a Domovoi along with the Dvovoroi. I (DRK/THF) switched to the Domovoi and pulled it back to the BRD to let it get slept with the horde again, and I -still- had time to stun the Dvovoroi.

2.) Bring juice. Mages will definitely need juice if they don't plan on resting and letting the brd keep the horde slept. DRK should bring a small emergency supply of juices with fast regen in case the Dvovoroi decides to spam flood.

3.) /assist works wonderfully in this battle. Designate one person to pull a white mandragora (usually PLD/tank) and have all melees /assist. make sure the one pulled isn't the BRD's "main" horde target.

4.) Bring tank food for the BRD. They'll take a lot of hits. Also make sure they bring gear that's decent in defense. Minne helps too if they're not shaking in nervousness from keeping the horde slept.

Also, it's not impossible to juggle seperate sleep timers if one wakes up. Our BRD did just fine juggling horde and foe lullabies. However, if possible, try to pull oddballs of the group first.

Out of our six runs, we only got 1 Erase and 1 Phalanx, the rest would be best categorized as "assorted BCNM junk". Since it was LSBCNM, the person who dropped their orb got QM and is responsible for selling all and dividing the profits. This is (I think) the fairest and most reliable way of handling it.

Did this last night with a party of:

Here's how it went:

First time: I went in a bit too far and the mandies aggroed me. I slept the black one, then horded the white ones. The melees went to kill the blakc one, but we were way too close, and my healer, the RDM, kept getting slept. Then I mistimed a horde lullaby and died. 0/1

Second time: I got just the right distance, slept the black one. The white ones came after me, and I got them in the tunnel, so we were far enough apart. We were doing good, and the black mandie was almost dead. But then a white mandie woke up and the RDM slept it. That made them wake up at odd intervals, and I couldn't keep them all asleep. I died, deleveled. 0/2

Third Time: We did the sam plan, but the RDM didn't sleep an mandie. I just let them hit me until they we're all awake. The RDM kept me alive. I kept hording, then the black one died. The RNG pulled the white mandies one-by-one, with the help of PLD and DRK vokes. The mandies seemed to like me a lot, because It took about 3 vokes before it finally stopped attacking me. We finally killed all of them, with the help of my 212 damage Earth Crusher XD, and got our items.
We got:

Scroll or Utsusemi: Ni
Balance Buckler
Survival Belt
Enhancing Earring

And we set the record time for Ragnarok!! 24 minutes, something. w00t!

So, my adivce if you're the Bard:

USE FOOD. Boiled crab or fishkabobs. It helped me immensely. They were only hitting me for 15-25, making it so much more easier for the RDM.

If you can, use Mary's Horn. I didn't use one, but it'll help. A lot.

Only Horde Lullaby when all the white ones are awake. If your healer is good enough, you'll be fine.

We failed the first time cuz the WHM couldn't heal the BRD fast enough so we let the SMN heal the BRD (and it was on my orb too ><)! I died the Third time but we still won (I got flooded)! The SMN was never low on his MP thanks to his Auto-Refresh ability and Bard's Ballad! WHM healed the melee and we pounded each mandy that came at us! The first two times the BRD's horde lullaby stuck on everyone nicely, the last two times, one or two resisted a lot!

This was my first BCNM, and from what I experienced, this BCNM doesn't really require a tank! Any Damage Dealers will do nicely here! RDMs do well here cuz of Convert but SMNs are also good cuz of Auto-Refresh if no RDM is available! (In my opinion) To at least survive you need any 3 DDs, BRD, and any two of these: RDM, SMN/WHM, or WHM! I don't really know the best party for this, refer to the other posts for that information!

What do I need to know? 
Bard - Fight Start 
	1) Enter BC 
	2) Eat Food 
	3) Cast Minne 
	4) Cast Water Carol 
	5) Run to just where the ground apex's, wait for others to get behind you 
	6) Start trying to cast Foe Lullaby on Dvorovoi (black one) 
		- get JUST in cast range, should be right after> 
		  the ground apex's into the circle 
	7) When Dvorovoi is asleep, the white Domovoi's will come running 
	8) When they get to you, let them get into a somewhat settled position 
		and cast Horde lullaby on the middle-most one 
		- Congratulations: You are alive, and they are asleep... 
 
   - Before Black is dead 
	1) Do not foe lullaby on early-wakers. Just let them hit you 
		Til you horde again 
	2) Horde lullaby with Mary's Horn lasts 30 seconds 
		W/o Mary's Horn it lasts 25 seconds 
	3) Keep Ballad and Minne on yourself + Mages 
	4) Do not start casting horde until you actually SEE the 
		messaging that they're all awake, not just 1 or 2 
	5) When you see the "A Domovoi is no longer asleep" spam, 
		hit your Horde macro 
	6) If you feel comfortable, run over to where the melees are 
		and prelude the ranger, and etude the others 
		Note: (You should be able to get 3 targeted songs or 2 AOE 
		songs off before your onions wake up) 
	7) Hang in there, try not to cure yourself. Curing yourself should 
		be your last resort, the more you cure yourself, the more hate 
		you build. The more hate you build, the harder it will be for 
		the melees to get each Domovoi off you. 
 
  - After Black is Dead 
	1) Keep casting Horde in your, now perfect, rythm. 
		You may notice that sometimes they are all in sync and you 
		Happen to get them in between attack times, so they won't 
		Hit you at all. I LOVE that. 
	2) Keep Ballad, Minne, (and if you're careful) Prelude,  
		Minuet, Madrigal etc. going. 
	3) Might need to start curing yourself for 1-2x in between lullabys 
		so your Bard Healer can rest a bit. Usually the  
		Team Healer is freed up a bit with the lower damage 
		the melees are receiving and can take over for your healer 
		a bit. 
	4) They are going to be trying to be pulling white ones off you 
		1 at a time. Unfortunatly you'll have hate for the first 
		30 seconds or so. 
	5) If you can manage it, cast threnody (macro switch to <stnpc>) 
		Requiem, Elegy, etc on the mandy they just pulled. 
 
  - When 2-3 are left  - Home Stretch 
	1) If you're Brave, using Monster Signa when 2-8 are left: 
		(depending on how brave you are - and if you have TP yet) 
		Right after your 20 second recast timer is up on your Horde, 
		Attack a Domovoi, and use your 100-200% TP Earth Crusher 
		Unlock, turn around, cast Horde Lullaby, Disengage. 
		IF you're brave, you just cut off 100-1200 damage that your 
		DD have to do - and maybe up to 3 minutes off your final time. 
	2) When you're down to 1, just do Madrigal, Minuet, and help your pt 
		Beat the crap outa that last one, to get your best time! 
 
 
 
Enough with Bard already, Go on! 
Bard Healer - Fight Start 
	1) Eat a Pie 
	2) Conserve MP for healing the bard, try not to use it for anything 
		but that. 
	3) Stay on the bards butt, as close as possible, this is because 
		You may get aggro. You don't want aggro, but if you get it 
		you need to keep those mandys in formation. #1 priority. 
	4) Cure the bard to almost full each sleep round. Then rest for 
		1 tick (20 seconds). Might have enough time. 
	5) Keep Other Healer, Bard, and yourself free of Paralyze 
	6) Keep Other Healer free of sleep. Wake em up 
	7) Rest 
	Note: (Since the bard is going to be switching between a harp and 
		His/her mary's horn, they will flash in and out, so you 
		Will lose targetting on them a lot. Just keep that in mind) 
 
  - Before Black is Dead 
  - After Black is Dead 
  - When 2-3 are left  - Home Stretch	 
	1) If you have convert and are out of MP, use it 
	2) Other than that, just keep him alive, when there is 1-2 left 
		Start attacking with Melees and send over cures when you can 
	3) Remember, the bard is trying NOT to cure him/herself for less hate 
 
 
Other Healer - Fight Start 
	1) Eat a Pie 
	2) Cast Protectra II 
	3) Cast Shellra II 
	4) Cast BarSleepra 
	5) Cast BarWatera 
	6) When all the Mandys are asleep, find a spot close enough to bard 
		to get Ballad, and far enough away of the fight to not be 
		slept or paralyzed 
	7) If Paralyzga goes off Order to remove Paralyze: 
		a) Bard 
		b) Bard Healer 
		c) Yourself 
		d) Tank 
		e) Others		 
	8) If somebody dies, Raise them. 
	9) Keep barwatera on the melees 
	10) Rest as much as you can, you need MP 
 
  - Before Black is Dead 
	1) If you see that Dvoromoi starts casting flood, Cast Silence on it 
		Drk or no Drk, Get it Silenced, You don't want to have to raise 
		your Tank or Die from your bard dieing. 
  - After Black is Dead 
  - When 2-3 are left  - Home Stretch	 
	1) Keep drinks on if you need 
	2) Keep your butt on that floor until somebody needs a few cures. 
	3) When 1-2 are left, start attacking while curing 
	4) Have fun 
 
 
Melees - Fight Start 
	1) Eat a Mithkabab 
	2) Wait for buffs 
	3) Stay behind the bard until the whites are slept, engage the black 
  - Before Black is Dead 
	4) Dark Knight (Stunner): WATCH FOR FLOOD. If he starts casting flood 
		It is VERY important to get that stopped at all costs 
  - After Black is Dead 
	1) Ask if your mages need a break, and you have time, your bard can 
		keep them asleep indefinatly, let them rest. 
	2) Start pulling 1 white mandy from the bard's herem. Pull it back 
		To where you were killing the black mandy, they sleep and 
		Sleep is hard on your bard healer. 
	3) This also keeps every melee attacking the SAME mandy. I've seen 
		3 melees run up and all attack different mandys. The Whm 
		Had to spam Curaga II and Stoneskin to keep everybody alive 
	4) Try to select a mandy that looks like it is off to one side, or 
		one that is already awake. 
		if you see: <mob1>    <mob2><mob3> <mob4> 
		Grab Mob1 this time, Mob4 next time, etc. Keep em w/o gaps 
	5) If you pull Mob 2 and Mob 3, Then the bard needs to reorganize 
		his/her mandys so Horde will hit them all. Which means more 
		Stress on the bard healer's mana. 
	6) Getting aggro will be hard, aggro has set in on the bard, and 
		(s)he may have so much it will take several vokes to remove it. 
	4) I've seen a Barrage for 400 damage not phase the mandy's hate. 
	5) A SATA Viper Bite onto a Voking Paladin will usually snatch it away 
	6) Beat up these as fast as possible.  
  - When 2-3 are left  - Home Stretch	 
	1) When 2-3 are left, start attacking where the bard is. Its faster, 
		There's more hate to counter-act, and they can survive 2-3 
		attacking a whole lot better now. A sleepga on the bard healer 
		is a lot less crucil to avoid now. 
 
 
 
What am I forgetting? 
Everybody:		- To start a 30 minute timer 
			- To get an Orb Before you leave jeuno 
			- Level 40 gear 
			- To get Arrows/Food/Sheini before you leave Jeuno 
			- To Change ALL your <bt> macros to <stnpc> or <t> 
				(Note: This is because you will have 
				 Anywhere from 2 to 9 <bt>'s, your current 
				 Actual Battle Target, and whatever your 
				 Bard is sleeping) 
 
Bard:			- A Paralyna macro 
			- A /equip switch horde lullaby macro 
			- A /equip switch foe lullaby macro 
			- To cast water carol at the start 
 
Bard Healer:		- To Eat a Pie 
			- A Paralyna macro 
			- To Convert RIGHT after the mandys are slept 
			- Don't cast sleep on early-wakers 
			- Keep Other Healer awake 
 
Other Healer:		- To Eat a Pie 
			- To try to let the Bard Healer take care of Bard. 
 
Melee:			- To Buy Arrows! 
			- To Eat Food. 
			- To Make a Stun Macro 
			- To Make a WS macro that Stuns (just in Case) 
			- To Make a SkillChain Before you start the BCNM
