Well so we had a good pty :Drg, Brd, Sam, Rng, Rdm, and Whm. We all had the updated armor and yet we still died w/in two min.
First time we go in i sleep the rabbits, they take big white bunny, they wake up, i sleep them again, i run away, a bunny wakes up and starts goin at whm, reason whm is near me is because he couldnt see me. I start to sleep it but before song gets out they all wake up and i die. After that it goes all downhill.

Next time the only thing different is i played songs before we went in. Then i put them to sleep except some resisted or somethin caus they didnt sleep. So i died in seconds then did the rest of the pty. We dont know waht happened or waht hit us but it was bad. This battle is very hard and only go in IF U HAVE A TRUSTED PTY AND GOOD EQUIPMENT. i should of had mary's horn, 100k though.I strongly recomend not to go to this bcnm but to bastok its easier, worms.
Btw i have +14 chr.

my friend who is a BRD just hit 40, so we're goign to start doing BCNMs this week. BTW, he has +30 CHR. so maybe if you work on getting some better equipment, you're sleeps would work better

failure

okay I would like to relate my failed experience I had tonight.

Pt was WHM(me)-THF-PLD-RDM-BRD-BST
Seems good right? Prolly way good...

Anyways, so pld runs in and vokes the main rabbit, I'm standing by watchin the HP of the tank and it drops from full to red in 2 seconds. So I start healing but he's dead before I finish. Wow, talk about your set backs. NO foul though, I raise the tank and we continue the battle. Brd is doing a good job keeping all the other ones sleeping while we're fighting the main one. PLD jumps in for a little tanking action while stile weakened but backs off after amlost dying. Whenever the rabbits wake up I'm hard pressed to heal the BRD until he can sleep again. Needless to say things weren't going too well but not horribly.

Then something goes wrong, some failure with the sleeping and the brd dies despite my numerous heals. After that what was before do-able battle turned into a slaughter. The BST and the PLD ran for zone, the THF and RDM both die, I died on the way back as well.

Reflecting back on the experience I think it would've been an okay battle if the tank didn't die in the first 10 seconds of the fight. Even still we managed to get Helltail Harry down to 1/8th life. /sigh

BRD with Marys Horn will make this battle much easier. Also, the more BSTs you can get will obviously make things easier.

The first thing wrong with that party is. YOU HAVE NO DMG. Second you let the PLD. Why not have the bst pull out a jug and have him start the fight so that the brd can sleep all of them. Then you pull the big guy out of the pile and the bst charms the rabbit. Why not have the bst take on some of the other rabbits to get some of them killed. With less rabbits hitting your brd lets him live longer.
Now lets look at what u do with fail charmed. When a charm fails and it goes after the brds healer he moves from the group and can not be put to sleep. The heal MUST stay close to the rabbits.
I do this thing 100% of the time with 1 heal 3 bst and a brd. So i'm just telling you from what i seen from the 20+ times i did this. So I my not be right but I do know that i'm close to what u need to do.

Do you have to have a party of level 40's to get into the battlefield?

If you really want to do this, just get pt of:

BRD, You, 4 BST

Make sure BRD has nice CHR and Mary's Horn (that's a must almost).

BRD keeps everything asleep, bst charms the rabbits, charmed rabbits fight/tank. BRD sleeps anything that wakes up. You stand there and watch (actually, at least try to have provoke, just in case, then you can tank something).

If your a BRD or BST, even better - you got room for another.

That's the cheap and almost surefire way of beating it - not that it's easy, just the BST I've spoke to have records like 15-0, 21-1, 16-0, etc..

This was pretty rough when i tried it.

We had: PLD, WHM, BLM, BRD, THF, RDM

Everyone brought juices+food.

Even using 2hrs, the biggest problem was keeping the other rabbits sleeped while fighting the main one.

I would highly recommend your bard has Mary's Horn, ours didn't, and it might have saved us having just a bit more time to resleep the mobs.

Somehow, you need to keep all the rabbits close together, so the bard can sleep them easily. The blm should help a bit, but you really should have the blm nuke the crap out of the main mob.

PLD using 2hr initially didn't seem to help as much as i would have thought. These mobs are highly melee oriented (As opposed to the other bcnm 40 with mandragoras) There aren't sleepaga issues from the main mob, but he this main rabbit takes quite a beating (while kicking your ******

First run, PLD (me) went in and casted banish on the big rabbit. This brought the whole mob on me and the bard preceded to sleep the group of them. The blm had to help in this a bit, but once there was a complete sleep for all the other mobs we heavily attacked the main one. Unfortunately the bard lost sleep on a few and they scattered a bit (not sure who drew agro to cause this). This caused the bard to be unable to resleep all the mobs, and we ended up losing the BRD to the rabbits. Once you lose BRD, you lose the battle.

Second try PLD went in and attacked main mob, then did 2hr invincible. This allowed the bard more time to sleep, but again somehow we had issues with the bard getting agro after the first sleep and the mobs spreading apart too much. BRD died and we lost.

Looking back on this experience, i can say that more needs to be done to draw agro back on ALL the other rabbits after sleep breaks. This partially was my fault, since i spent 99% of my efforts keeping heals on myself up and keeping the main mob agro'd to me instead of attacking the blm. Perhaps an AoE BLM spell on the group just allowing the bard to resleep them? or maybe using PLD 2 hr after first sleep is done (must be perfect on getting first sleep though). I'm not sure what else you can do, but you must watch agro on bard and maintain agro for big mob on the PLD.

Party consistency wise, i'd say THF isn't that great for this task. I've heard BSTs make a good BCNM job because they can take 2 adds out of the equation.

Mary's horn is great for increased duration/decreased resistance for lullaby. Make sure your bard also has at the very least a Scarlet Ribbon, Bird Whistle, Corsette, and 2 Pearl Rings. These are real cheap compared to Mary's horn, and together add 14 CHR, which is helps greatly in monster debuffs. All have HQ versions that add one more CHR except the Bird Whistle, and a monster signa (CHR +8) is also a very nice thing to have.

Nobles Ribbon, Beast whistle, Loyalty Rings, Af dagger, elegant shild, and any RSE that gives +cha.

Other than that, your bard should be wearing DEF and EVA gear. (and a san d'orian/ mary's horn) and using boiled (or steamed) crab.

Bard gear is much cheeper than melee gear. without my rse I have +21 cha (+18 if/when I get my mary's) and I do not get partial resists very often, much less full resists. (signa is bad for BCNM's where are bard is sleeping mobs. the -vit will kill you.)

Um, unless I'm missing something, the Scarlet Ribbon isn't really that important; it doesn't have any +CHR, unlike the HQ Noble's Ribbon. In its place, you may want something like a Jester's Headband or maybe even an Electrum Hairpin, although the -HP on the hairpin might not be so great since the BRD will be getting lots of hate ^_^; I'm not sure about the prices on these, but I'm pretty sure they'd raise it quite a bit >_<

One reason I can see why your thief couldn't perform is you had 1 tank and 4 mages w/ the thief. Who was he supposed to trick off?

We'll try it with my perma group that has 2 thieves. We'll do our Sneak+Trick before engaging the mobs to make the timer go down. Start the fight with 2 ~350DMG attack, 15 seconds later 2 more ~350DMG attack, and 1 minute later 2 400+ damage (viper bite will be ready). That's 2200 DMG right there.

The thing with thieves is that we need people in the party to collaborate with our efforts. If nobody is willing we go from being a valuable asset to being worthless.

My perma-group's RDM uses blink, then lets her boyfriend (the THF) sneak + trick onto her. :) Then they bounce it around all over the place. Crazy damage and no one gets hurt. XD
