Summary

Chululu needs you to dispose of what she forgot to put out on rubbish day.

Walkthrough

After collecting the four different Tarut cards from Chululu and completing the Collect Tarut Cards quest, get your fortune told on three different days. The fourth time you speak to her, she will give you this quest, which involves taking out the trash. She gives you the Key Item: Rubbish.

The "rubbish" you have needs to be taken to Garlaige Citadel's "Incinerator." In order to get to the Incinerator, you need a Garlaige Key, a rare/ex item. They drop off of Fallen Evacuees which are in some of the rooms near the entrance of the Citadel.

After getting the key, you will need help from three other people to get through the First Banishing Gate at I-9 on the first map. Then you need to go through the second Banishing Gate which is at G-10 of the second map. Each gate will require a party of at four players to pass. The mobs inside the first gate are higher level than the ones outside, so sneak and invisible are recommend. However be mindful of the dromas and explosures around the 2nd gate as they are aggressive to magic. After you get through the 2nd gate, go to I-7 on the third map to get to the Incinerator Room. Only Invisible is required to get to the room, where you will trade your Garlaige Key to the door, and it will break. Inside is an old man and he will dump your trash for you.

This quest can be done in conjunction with Port Windurst's Making Amens! quest, as the wand you need for that quest is given to you by the same old man.

Return to Chululu for your reward.

You need for her to check your compatability with three people on three seperate days. You dont need to bother anyone to come to jueno, just get the name of someone standing at the AH and it will work (you dont need to be in a pt or anything).

Just make sure to do it on three seperate in game days (dont have ot be in a row). On the fourth day she will give this quest.

Hi all,

I got this quest, and tried to do it in conjuction with the Windy quest. The windy quest went fine. However, after I finished the windy quest, the magic trash key item and the quest "Rubbish Day" disappeared from my key and quest lists. Now I can't seem to get this quest again. Anyone experienced the same thing? Any suggestions?

Onidori.
Key Drop

Just to warn you, the key drop is kinda rare. Took me somewhere between 30-36 kills. This was without any TH though, so perhaps with THF it would not be so difficult.

There are a total of 6 Evacuee spawns to my knowledge, 3 rooms two in each room. 15 minute respawn, I was able to clear all 6 and then have 2 or 3 minutes to get back to the first room and rest.

Now I just need to convince a few people to help me kill the NM, and the scroll will be mine! ^.^;

I went as RDM75/NIN35, took between 30-35 mobs as well. It was annoying until I figured out that there were more Bones on the East side of GC as well as the West, so I didn't have to wait very long for repops.

when i ask for a compatibility test i get the answer your partner is not nearby. i have been partied with some one standing beside me, not paried with them standing beside me. nothing i'm doing is working. what do i do to get tested?
RE: compatibility test
# Jun 05 2005 at 5:34 AM Rating: Decent
I had same problem...

Solution is simple...

Use CAPITAL for the first letter of the name ^^

Otherwise Chululu will not recognize it

Yes, the trick is to make sure to capitalize the first letter of the name. You do not have to be in the same pt as the person. Just list anyone in the area.
Garliage Key Question?

Does the key act like the Delkfutts Key (use key, mini cutscene, one person only) or once the door is open can anyone go through (similar to banishing gates)? I understand that the key will be destroyed, but just want to know if each person wishing to go through needs key.
RE: Garliage Key Question?
# Jun 05 2005 at 6:37 AM Rating: Decent
Yes it does - only 1 can enter with 1 key and it is broken then. So be sure you have both quests flagged before enter the Incinerator Room.
Won't activate
# Feb 03 2005 at 4:23 PM Rating: Decent
Need some help. I can't activate the quest. My fame is high enough and I did the Tarot Card quest.

If you have any ideas please let me know by posting it up.
RE: Won't activate
# Mar 25 2005 at 1:16 AM Rating: Excellent
Ok here's how this quest works, I read it somewhere else on the site but I forgot the link so I'll just state what I remember.

To activate Rubbish day you must first complete the Tarut Card quest. After completing Tarut Cards, get your compatability tested on 3 seperate in game days. On the fourth day you should recieve the cutscene. (This worked without question for me)

I hear this is the same case for the Crystal Ball quest as well (wait 3 days getting fortune read and on 4th it works out, but I haven't been back for the fourth day yet to prove.)

About what items are required for Rubbish quest.
-you recieve "Magic Trash" as a key item from Chululu
-you need to find a "Garlaige Key", not a "Garlaige Chest Key" (someone posted this earlier)... i'm not positive as to if this is true because im camping Fallen Evacuee's right now as i'm typing this, killed 8 of em no drop so far, but i'm gonna stick with it for a little bit longer and confirm when i'm done w/ this quest.

Well the key just dropped, "Garlaige Key", so yes, there is a seperate key that drops. I'd be prepared to wait a long time for one to drop though because the spawn is really long for the Evacuee's (I think 15 min spawn after death.

Hope this helps :)

addition
# Dec 08 2004 at 11:17 AM Rating: Good
Just wanted to add to this there appear to be a mini quest in between this and the collect the taruts cards quest. You now have to check compatibility with people in lower jueno. Other guides say 8-10 times. I did it much more than that. But none of the other guides but 1 tells you that you have to wait a few days after inorder to get Rubbish day. I personally waited over night and when I checked the next monrning recieved the quest.
#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 09 2004 at 11:34 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) WTF? If you're going to write a guide, WRITE a GD guide. Did you have to go take a **** while you were writing this??

Dude, don't grill him for not writing up every friggin thing about the game. I'd like to see you gather and post a database like this and write guides for every single thing. Besides, if you just scroll down a little, other people have posted how to complete the quest. There's no need to finish the guide when the info is already sitting right there.

And regardless, the team here doesn't have to tell you anything. Don't act like they owe you better than tons of free info.

Nope, not very good. However, it is one of the prerequisite quests for the Sleepga II quest, along with the candle making in Upper Jeuno and the quest series from the crystal ball fortune teller.

The "rubbish" you have needs to be taken to Garliage Citadel's "Incinerator." In order to get to the Incenerator, you need a "Garliage Key", a rare/ex item. They drop off of Fallen Evacuee's which are in some of the rooms near the entrance of the Citadel (I soloed them with extreme ease as BLM56/RDM28)...

After getting the key, you will need help from three other people to get thru the First Banishing Gate at I-9 on the first map. I just sat around complaining to my LS, asking them for help before a PT of people I didn't know came and opened it for me (there are 4 switches that need to be stood on at the same time in order to open the gate). To get to the gate, sneak and invis are recommended for bats, ghosts, and beetles.

Then you need to go thru the 2nd Banishing Gate which is at G-10 of the second map. I did the same thing, by waiting by the gate for another PT to open it for me... (If you don't solo thru here, you will need a PT of at least 4 people, you'll need sneak/invis to stand on the gate's switches, as there are bombs on some switches (sight/magic detecting), and pots on others (magic detecting), and there are bats and slimes right next to the gate (sound). It's rather ingenious how they put the dungeon together.)

After you get through the 2nd gate, goto I-7 on the third map to get to the Incinerator Room... only Invis is required to get to the room, where you will trade your Garliage Key to the door, and it will break. Inside is an old man and he will dump your trash for you.

This quest can be done in conjunction with Port Windurst's Making Amens!
quest, as the wand you need for that quest is given to you by the same old man.

I think, although I cannot confirm this, that the incinerator is near a coffer key spawn point, so anyone doing White Mage AF or anthing that needs a Garlaige Coffer, start this quest as well. :)

there are 4 Coffer spawn points behind Banishing Gate #2 so you are correct.

There are also 3 Coffer spawn points Banishing Gate #3 which is not connected and harder to open.
