Mission Orders

Prince Trion seeks an adventurer. Find the prince in his chamber to learn more.

Walkthrough

Accept the mission from any gate guard, then head to Prince Trion's chambers in Chateau d'Oraguille. Prince Trion asks you to find King Ranperre's true burial place.

Head to (H-8) in King Ranperre's Tomb where you will find a large door. Examine the door and 3 NM Skeletons (Corrupted Ulbrig, Corrupted Soffeil, and Corrupted Yorgos) will spawn. These skeletons are not particularly easy, but you should have no trouble with a 12-member alliance of level 60 players. That said, an 18-member alliance will make things easier because each party can battle one of the skeletons. The skeletons can use Sleepga, so make sure that your mages are out of range of that AoE.

Once you have defeated the NMs, target the door again, and you will be given the option to pass through. Pass through, and you will find a tombstone. Examine the tombstone, and you will receive a cutscene and a key item (Ancient San d'Orian Book). Return to San d'Oria and talk to any of the mission guards. They will tell you that the book will need to be deciphered, and will ask you to come back at a later time. Wait until after Japanese Midnight, and return to the gate guard, then head to Prince Trion's chambers for another cutscene.

Head back to the door at (H-8) in King Ranperre's Tomb and pass through it again for another cutscene (there is no battle when targeting the door this time). Once the cutscene is over, return to the gate guard to receive Rank 7 and 20,000 gil.

In all seriousness everyone i talked to about this Mission blew it totally out of proportion. Lol, I was expecting some ridiculously long and tedious crap like ZM4 or something, but it was the total opposite. Completed 6-1 and 6-2 in a lil over an hour and a half and that was only because someone forgot to get Mission and we had to do 6-1 twice. Oh yea and it wouldn't have taken as long if i hadn't hit the door early by accident and killed everyone. SORRY guys @.@. It was still very easy with the sneak pop tactic and pull them one by one.
Soo funny ^^;

Just completed this mission i did it back to back with 6-1 with about 14 peeps, i had a hell of a good time. after we all got the mission we decended upon KRT, coz it was so close th the Spook's spawnin time the majority of the alliance decided 2 camp it (with the exception of me, i went strait to the doors where the NM bones pop) anyhoo the spook drops the travelers mantle an we all lotted for it an yay i got the mantle, easiest 40-60k ive ever made. anyhoo im waitin at the doors for the others to arrive an 1 of the DRG's in my pty shows up, he only goes an accidently pops the NM's -_- well he died, an we had 2 wait 5 or so mins before we could repopem again. well we did the old trick of castin sneak on the puller an pullin em 1 at a time to a safe place til we had worked our way through all 3. 1 keyitem an a cutscene later im back in sandy awatin my nice 40k reward when i learn i gotta wait a couple of hours for the book to be deciphered. o well i had a really good time doin the mission, im gonna find that crazy bunch of peeps tomorrow an see if there up for 7-1
Just finished.

I just finshed this mission a couple nights ago, the hardest part was getting people to help (not found of shouting in jeuno), i kept getting ask if i was doing 6-1 ><.
Anyway, had 8 people come with me, mojority was level 73-75, was pretty sweet. So we got there and i sneaked up and examined the door. The level 74 pld pulled the middle skeleton and the party moved back so we wouldnt aggro the other two. So we kill it and the majority of the party is about half health or yellow ( had no whm and that AoE atk the skeleton
uses is a *****)
Just my luck that the other two skeletons aggro ><, guess we werent back far enough. So we end up livivng through the two fights, a few 2 hrs helped alot. but over all this mission is fairly easy.

Can you have people in your party/alliance that aren't from San d'Oria or aren't up to this mission yet? I know it was possible to have just one person in the alliance needing to kill the NM for the prior mission (Leaute's Last Wishes).

LS did this last night. We had about 10 people. 57whm/smn(me) 61rdm, 65ish BLM, 60blm, 63 rng, 56 drk, 68whm x 2 63 pld...I think that is about all. We didn't need that much. Built TP on anything on the way in. Cast sneak on RNG, pulled the middle. Owned it. WHM's and RDM spammed Cure IV and V everyone else unloaded. Fight lasted all of 30 seconds. DRK said to wait, but we like to kill stuff, so I went up and tried to silence one of the other skele's. It resisted, but I got the desired effect. That fight lasted all of 30 seconds. Last on de-spawned, which bummed us out. Wanted to kill it too. Did it about 7pm or so, book was deciphered this morning at 9am.
6-2

this mission can go very easy. if the puller has sneek when he spawns the nms he can pull one at a time, they do not link. we pulled the first mob far back and killed it, and so on for the 2nd, when it came time for the 3rd it had despawnd and we could enter the tomb. it takes more then a few hours for the gard to read the book, sounds like 24. tobad on one changed the info up there lol
O.o lucky guess

Just Finished this mission up, we had to do it 2 times because we were kind of Misled. No worries.
Basically the easy way was.. we had 1 pt 57-64 mixed, rdm, whm, thf, drk, war,rng... had a 71 Nin and a 70 Pld.. The Rng subbed Smn (You'll understand in a minute) I casted sneak on rng, he ran up to door popped the Skeles, ran back.. Summoned Carby and had Carby pull the middle skele.. the other 2 stood there oblivious to our little ruse. had everyone (Cept the pld and Nin) get behind me and the Rdm. skele came Nin voked, and the Pld attacked.. at this point do little Dmg to the skele because you need to wait for other 2 to De-spawn, as soon as they do, Full Attack! we killed it np, I never dropped below 600 MP, and the Rdm was barely 50 down.
Ran to the door got CS and key item, waiting @ E ron gate as i'm typing now ^^ lol Hope this gives ppl some insight.

Finished this mission the other day before work.
I knew ahead of time that it takes a few IRL hrs to decifer the tome handed to the gate guard, however i didnt realize that it would take sooo long.
It took 24 Real Life hrs from the time you hand the tome to the guard to the time you actually attain rank 7.
Soloed this tonight

I'm a lvl 69 BST.

After reading the post below by Climhazard, I decided it would be fun to solo this mission, so I grabbed some jugs and headed to the tomb.

I called CourierCarrie, used 2hr and waited a little for "Call beast" timer to run down. I then cast sneak and clicked on the door, the 3 skeletons appeared and I sent Carrie in to fight the middle skeleton (Corrupted Yorgo or something like that). I waited.

The two BLM bones on either side eventually despawned, with Carrie already below half life. By the time she died, the middle skeleton had only lost about a quarter of its life. Hmmm.

So I call FunguarFamiliar and send it at the bones, and I engage it myself hoping to finish the job. Unfortunately, fate was not with me. The funguar decides to use Frogkick (one of its least useful special attacks), then the skeleton decides to spam Blood Saber, then I critical 3 times in a row (damn my Mithran powers) and eat a nasty Hell Slash! All of a sudden, I'm in the orange, my pet is about to die, my "Call Beast" timer is a couple of minutes away, and the skeleton still has about a sixth of its life left.

So what did I do?

I ran! I used charm to bind and run, bind and run, until my "Call Beast" timer was ready. So I call another FunguarFamiliar, and it decides to miss 3 times (but of course) and so the skeleton drops me into the red - oh my! It finally takes hate and finishes the job.

I got 50xp from the skeleton (with 30% penalty for pet), meaning the Corrupted Yorgo~ was lvl 67.

I didn't use pet food so that didn't help, and I didn't have much of a battle plan either. The Gods of Vana'diel really didn't want me to solo this skeleton, but in the end I did - so in yer face! :p

All in all, it was fun to do, and even though I fell into the red, I never felt like I would die.

Did this last night and it was really easy. We have a 61 NIN, 62 RDM and a 67 BST (me). This will mainly help out my fellow BST, but if anyone happens to get a BST in their party for this Mission, suggest this strategy and all should go well:

1. I call CourierCarrie and wait 3.5 minutes (so my Call Beast /recast would be up a 1.5 minutes after we started the fight).

2. I had the NIN and the RDM stand back near the entrance to the cave that has the Door you have to investigate to pop the 3 NMs.

2. I used Sneak and investigated the Door and to pop the 3 NMs.

3. I assumed there'd be a BLM Skeleton in there somewhere and knowing they always buff with ---Spikes shortly after they spawn, I waited. Sure enough, the NM on the right and left side both used Ice Spikes while the middle one did not. (this can also be noted by the weapons they carry, but I didn't want to chance brining the BLM; sure we could've Silenced it, but why chance it?)

4. Sent The HQ crab to attack the middle NM and used "Heel" once the NM was engaged.

5. Let the HQ Crab fight the NM while I stood close to the other NMS waiting on them to despawn.

6. The NMs by the door despawned after the HQ Crab had the NM down about 1/2 HP and I tell everyone to engage.

7. We engage and let the HQ crab tank most of the fight.

That's it. This fight was pathetically easy. I fed the HQ Crab once just to be safe and I didn't even have to call another pet. I'd say a Lv60-65 BST could possibly solo this and I know a 67 BST could solo it.

The key is to be fighting the NM while the other 2 despawn. Do NOT kill the NM until after the others (that will remain by the Door) despawn. To be on the safe side, wait until the other 2 NMs despawn before having everyone engage. If, by chance, they don't despawn by the the time the NM you're fighting gets to within a few more hits of dying, just use "Heel" and let the NM beat on your pet until the other 2 despawn. This is a very easy fight.

Hope some people find this useful. A SMN of decent level could easily solo this as well using a similar strategy they do against the Lv20 Avatar fights. After Astral Flow is completed, just go stay away from the battle until Carbie dies then recall Carbie. Very simple and probably easier for a SMN than a BST since BST have to rely on their pets having enough health. Good luck.
It can be pretty easy..

We did this last night with an alliance of 11 people. We had 2 PLDs, 2WHMs, a BLM, several melee's and a RDM (me).

We cleared the area of skeletons, then decided to trigger the NMs, but forgot to sneak or PLD, result: all 3 skeletons on us :)

We killed 1, then got owned terribly and all but 1 died. Luckily a friend of someone was nearby to Raise III us, we rested, when the NMs got back from the zone (one of our WHM tried to run, but died too :( ), we killed the NMs before the others would respawn, and managed to get inside the door ^^

So instead of failing terribly, we actually succeeded with only a minor exp loss.

We all were 60+, with the normal tactics we would have owned the NMs... ^^

Ok so... heres the dealio. Me and some friends did 6-1 (EASY, no one even dropped to the yellow), then we went on to 6-2. Also abnormally easy. Sneak, pulled one, tried to kill it slowly, but we were too awesome. Ended up killing the 2nd when the 3rd depopped. The key is, you HAVE to be fighting a skeleton when the others depop, otherwise it wont matter and youll have to do it again. This is the same with the NIN AF quest (which some ******* got me and 7 other people killed and he didnt even say a simple thanks for helping ><). So after that we returned to our glorious castle, did all that stuff, waited till JPN new day (11AM EST), and now I was told to go back to the tomb. Theres someone AFK inside it and he wont leave and I cant finish the quest. Calling a GM to get him out of my way. ><

Louren -> PLD 60
Meteorx -> RNG 60
Nebus -> DRK 60
Dalu -> BRD 60
Ciche -> WHM 60 (me)
Mokujin -> BLM 60

We used "fight only 1" tattic.
If someone have problem to make this mission can see this video (like 20Mb) -> http://www.tarutaru.it/img/DOWNLOAD/Ciche_San_Miss6-2.zip

Tattic : Puller get Sneak -> Touch door -> go far -> pull only 1 -> all kill it -> wait -> de-pop of other 2 -> all touch the door -> rank 7 :D

Just did this one last night, it was fun! Yah, you have to be fighting one while the others dissapear, we ended up doing it twice cause of that. The time we did it right we were killing so fast that we ended up killing 2/3(cure pulls) And the 3rd depopped as the 2nd was going down. Cutscene, cant wait for rank 7!
Just killing Yorgos doesn't work

We tried killing Yorgos and letting the others despawn (after Yorgos was dead), it didn't work. Perhaps just killing Soffeil or Ulbrig would work, but we decided to just kill them all the second time.

Perhaps the other poster was right and you need to be fighting one of them when the others despawn to get credit.

Just did this. A couple of people got to the door ahead of the others (we had an allaince) and one of them touched the door about 4 times and spawned the 3 undead. So they were being royally beaten and had to run/escape etc. A lot of our allaince ran into these nm's and also got their asps kicked. They died, but we got nothing.

Big waste of time and energy.

Then we all ran back there and grouped and killed it.

So tell them DON'T TOUCH THE DOOR UNTIL UR READY.

Think ecowarrior if you get my drift.

We finished this last night as well. I got a blind invite from a good BLM asking if we wanted to do it. So i joined. We were a total of 10, all 60+ and a couple 70+.

It took longer to actually get the mission started, and getting to the Door then the actual fight.
RNG was sneaked, touched the door, ran back, pulled and we killed one. Took roughly 30 seconds to kill. 2nd one same mannner. Yet the 3rd despawned and we were able to finish the mission.

It takes a total of 10 Hours for the Papers to be deciphered. Now onward to Rank 8.

Happy Hunting!

A few friends and I completed this yesterday. We tried the kill one skele technique and it didn't work. Then we tried to kill all of them but while attacking the second one, the third skele despawned; however when we clicked on the door, we gain entrance.

Anyway, I think killing one is enough; however, you should not finish it off until the other skeles have despawned.

It was a relatively easy fight. First try, we have lvl64 rdm, lvl61 blm, lvl64 rng, lvl61 mnk. Second attempt, a lvl60 pld came and help out.

I believe one party of 55+ can complete this mission by using sneak, cure pull tactic and killing only one skele.

To make it easier don't pull the skele right away, wait alittle while then pull one. If you pull early, you might need to purposely drag the fight alittle longer than necessary for the other skeles to despawn before killing the skele you are fighting off.

Pulling 1 at a time does work. I just helped out on this Mission, not even 15min ago.
Have someone that has Sneak on click on the door, and run back. Then have ranger/etc range pull. They will not link. As long as 1 is engaged, they will not despawn. This means no down time to rest. After you kill one, attack the next one. I think its 30-45sec before they despawn.

BTW, we did this mission with 15 ppl. But we could have done it with 6, 65~ guys. What you do is: Sneak the guy that will spawn them, while everyone else stands really far back.
Then just pull one at a time. This mission was too easy.

Way stronger than Sandoria Mission 6-1. Did it with 12 people lv. range 58-60. 3 Paladins, heavy dmg dealers, me as a RDM, and 2 WHMs.

We had each paladin pull a separate skeleton. The battle was much more involved and required a LOT more curing. I had to actually convert to keep up the MP required to heal everyone. Lots of curagas were needed. Only one person died (our MNK due to him doing insane dmg with his 2hr) and us healers not being able to Cure4 him fast enough. All Paladins used 2hrs, WHM used Benediction near the end. Was tough, but doable with 12 people lv60 or lower.

And yes, when the guy says to wait a few hours to decipher it, he means till 12AM Japanese time when the clocks reset. So it could be 1 hour or could be nearly 24 hours.
