Battle Notes

In order to enter the battlefield you will need to bring a Sky Orb, which is obtained by trading 30 Beastmen's Seals to Shami in Port Jeuno. When you are ready, trade the Sky Orb to the Burning Circle inside Balga's Dais and choose to enter the battle Creeping Doom.

Up to 3 people may enter and you will all receive a level 30 restriction. You have 15 minutes to win. You will face one opponent: A giant Crawler named Bitoso. He can cure himself, uses Paralyzga, all the regular crawler abilities, and has lots of HP. If you can bring him down you get a treasure crate filled with assorted rewards.

Make sure than the Black Mage's have /WHM and have Paralyna as the Crawler has an Area of Effect (AoE) Paralyze spell. You will also need Aspir/Sleep and a maxed Dark Magic skill level for this fight. Sleep and Aspir Bitoso until he has 0 MP and then nuke him until dead. He is resistant to Silence and casts Cure III on himself so it is important to drain all of his mana.

The Ranger will need to bring Sleep Bolts. Sleep and Paralyze Bitoso at the start of the fight. The Black Mages should then coordinate their nukes by casting together and the Ranger should sleep Bitoso with the bolts just after the spells hit. With repeated successful cycles, this battle should be easy.

Pretty easy BCNM. Went in with Utsusmei: Ichi up and some food buffs on and just traded taunt. The 2 dancers healed to trade taunt. Just played through the paralyze and cures and slows. Not a dangerous tactic but we got pretty close on the 15 minute period.

do u think a rng/nin can solo this?
RE: solo?
# Jan 20 2005 at 5:24 PM Rating: Decent
You cant solo it because theirs a lvl cap. Anyway, with the lvl cap trying to solo this, theres no way, these things would run your utsumei out in seconds. So no, u cant solo this.

RDM/WHM (WHM could be at 9 just for paralyna)

Really easy, share the hate between both RNGs,use Sleep bolts and nuke whenever. Keep Gravity on the Crawler and your fine.

ok we just owned this BC fight in 6 mins our first try.

here was the setup

this was the plan
barrage x2 at start, full attack with holy bolts, use bloody bolts when life is in yellow (this will let other RNG take some hate for you to utsusemi again. all WHM does is make sure RNGs don't die and bam! you win

1 hour later:
we have done it 4 more times beating it in 4 mins everytime. WHM didn't have to use anything but some foods. i used one Bison steak used about 20 shihei, less then one stack of holy bolts, 10 acid bolts and 30 bloody bolts. no real good drops but all in all we came out with 400k.

Day #2
Well we now hold the record at 3 min 2 sec and now finish this BC on a average of 3 min 30 sec.
We have found that using Rice Dumplings work the best. Per fight each RNG uses 17-18 Holy bolts and 2-3 Bloody Bolts (i use 2-4 Acid Bolts)
Genin Earrings x4, Merc. Earring 1, Magician's Earring 1, and some other 25k and under earrings.

hope you all can thy this and win too ^^ good luck

the mp drain is a waste of time really.

I'm 18/19 on this one, the loss was a time limit.

My party has been this almost every time:

RNG/NIN > needs 10 shihei and sleep bolts and holy bolts
BLM/WHM > pie and 2 yag drinks
BLM/WHM > sames

Start out seal + sleep. cast paralyze, slow and blind. Paralyze is the big one, have one person in charge of making it stick. Do not cast any continuos debuffs, like choke, poison, dia, bio, any of those. those will wake him up. once enfeebled, start with light nukes, i prefer blizzard and thunder, Aspir and Drain when needed. Once you hit about 100 mp, yag drink and go on.

At Bitoso's halfway mark, have the ranger start spamming sleep bolts, and let the blm get ~300 mp. recast debuffs, then go nuts. Firaga, Water 2, he should fall like so many worker crawlers.

I've done this with 1 blm dead too, took 14:20, both of us had to 2 hour, but it was done. you won't break a speed record.

Best drop was Genin Earring, unfortunatley it wasn't my orb that time. Average drop = 10k worth of crap.

Just did it again tonight with 3 BLM/WHM. killed it each time in 8min. Got 987k total for all drops. Split between 3 ppl 329k Per person. We ended up getting, Genin Earring, Magicians Earring, Utsusemi: NI.
Genin Earring = 300k
Magicians Earring = 320k
and Utsusemi: NI = 250k
(and some other odds and ends. i didnt get most of the drops but thats what the total was)
All on Phoenix Server. If you ever need a BLM and are on that server don't hesitate to ask me. Bakum

He has a little over 500mp. The aspir strategy works, but you have to keep him down to as few cures as possible. and when you nuke,(if your using the 3 blm setup) make sure you all do it at the same time, if you don't, then you pt members will wake him with the nuke spells. Also, I can confirm that it does drop erase because a friend of mine got it from this BCNM.

I did this this weekend
The party included me as a blm/whm, a friend as a blm/whm and mnk/war.

We did the traditional nuke/sleep/aspir technique. Worked flawlessly. About 8 rounds of Aspir took away all his mana. After the nuke and sleep, we rested a tick or two before he woke up and then aspired and nuked again. Each little bit you can rest will help in the end when you finally start duking it out. Once the mp was gone, the monk dropped 2 hr and basically it was over from there except for a few cure 2s and left over nukes. We did cut it close at 14:24 for our time though. Fun BCNM though.

My question is does this really drop Erase? Can anyone confirm it? I was told that you cannot get erase from this BCNM, but everything I see here is contrary to that.

A while ago I went in w/ 3 Blms. The first time we did it 2/3 of us ate apple pies. 2 of the blms nuked and then the other one hit ele seal + Sleep. Then everyone casted aspir on it. Everytime it woke up someone would sleep it. Occasionaly nuke. We thought that there was plenty of time left but we ran out of time when it had a sliver left.

The second time everytime 2 would nuke then one sleep and keep constantly aspiring. Once it ran out of mp it was at a bit less than 1/2. We all just spammed nukes and it dropped like a stone. Only like 60k divided by 3 ppl in drops though. It was more just for fun.

Ok, I have heard that it is possible to solo this BCNM if you are a Ranger. Is this true ? If it is true how do you do it ? If you respond to this tell me how to do it as in what gear should i wear, which crossbow should i use, and what food should i use. Thank You for your time...

This BCNM was a joke, me and my buddies did it last night 6x's. This was the setup rng/nin, war/nin, thf/nin. We sleep bolted him to death, he couldn't do anything. The fight only took about 5 to 6 min each time. That 3 blm thing is BS, and waste of time. It's WAAAAY easy, but unfortunately the most expensive thing we got out of 6x's was healer's earring (which isn't that bad 45k). But we did get 3 dark steel ores. Just wish that Dispel and Erase woulda dropped. Good news is, were doing it again tonight, and we got enough seals to do it about 12 more times. All you gotta do if you wanna do this multiple times is have a warp scroll on you. After 3 fights, warp back, everybody grabs another orb, and go again. Simple

I did this 5 times with 2 different groups this week and won all 5 times . The first 2 battles It was just me and 1 other RNG , on the next 3 tries I got a RNG and a RDM for backup heals and enfeebling .

The first RNG and I started by me running in and barraging it with holy bolts . He then ran in and start spamming sleep bolts , then I joined in using sleep bolts , while he then barraged holy bolts . The mob will seldom wake up and heal with this method and we beat him in 6 to 7 minutes each battle .

The next 3 battles I got s RNG and RDM from my LS . We used a similar strategy , but RDM would ES + sleep when sleep arrows wasn't working , bad idea . It resisted sleep spells and If it doesn't take it wakes up and heals (Same goes for silence) . First battle with this method took us 14 minutes and 23 seconds to beat . We switched back to the origanal stradegy for 2nd fight and beat it in 10 minutes 7 seconds . The 3rd round we were a little more organized and managed to get time down to 7 minutes 8 seconds using just sleep bolts .

This is actually a very easy BCNM but if you are doing BCNM for money I wouldn't recommend this one . The first 2 runs we got Genin earring , Utsusemi: Ni , and Dispel (Plus Misc. other gems and latent effect earrings) . The down side was on the next 3 battles we only got Latent effect earring , and some gems making about 10k a battle , which barely paid for the sleep bolts .

In conclusion this is a very easy BCNM , but the payoff is a big gamble .

Im a smn and went in with two other smn.
Me and one other subbed nin and they other whm and we not only beat ther record but each only had to use Diamond Dust twice while it was owned before the 3rd smn could use his. No one ever got hit, only spent 1,200 each for 1 Yag Drink. We also used nin tools to weaken it further before 2hr. 3 x Shiva is by far the best and fastest way. We also stayed far away and did not get paralyzed. ^^

In any combination of drks and blms, Here is the pattern:

ES + Sleep
Aspir x3
IMPORTANT ---> When it wakes up, DRAINS X3.
Sleep, repeat

Draining forces it to waste mp on superficial wounds. with good timing, you can take it to 50%health before mob's mp = 0.

I've done this many times, Genin's Earing, Magician's Earring x2, Wizard's Earing x2, Wrestler's Earring x2, Erase Scroll--over a few runs. I can't imagine bcm 40, spliting it 6 ways. This is the best, with a minimum of investment.

I have probably done this bcnm at least 1x times. The best and easiest methond is to go in and sleep bolt him to death. Do not bother with SATA! It is a complete waste of time and he usually heals himself when he wakes. Two thfs can duo using the sleep bolt method in abour 8-10mins. Good luck and have fun ^^

just took this bug down on alexander..

party was

ran in, after getting protect and food, and slept it, RNG spammed sleep bolts at the thing while i used sneak every chance i got, got paralysed a few times, and that messed up a few attacks, but i voked to keep it off the DD's as much as i could..

got it to about 1/8th life and the BLM had run out of MP, so he hit manafont and nuked this thing to hell, while me and the RNG opened up too and down he went!

no records broken, no magic plan of attack, just sleep and high damage, with the unleashing at the end..

we got the utsetsemi:ni scroll and the wyvern earing and a maple log for our troubles, and plan to take this thing on again tomorrow, with juices and everyone using two hours at the end of his HP.

just a word to the naysayers of the WAR, i may not have done the most damage, i may not have dealt the final blow, but i helped keep the others alive by taking a few hits and took a good share of his HP from him, no real acc+ gear, just went in, did my job as a DD, pure and simple.

good luck to anyone else trying this, its all about keeping him asleep!

*edit* because typing on a laptop in the dark while tired makes shingi a bad speller ><

Tis true, I was the BLM (Not RLM) in this BCNM, twas a close run thing, towards the end it managed to get off some Cure III's, but with the Sneak attacks, nukes and barrage's going on it didnt stand a change.

Paralyga was a bit of a ***** though.

# Nov 28 2004 at 7:43 PM Rating: Default
I was thinking 3 THF/NIN could do this fight pretty easy, have one run in and sleep bolt it, Other two take place behind Bitoso. When it wakes up (or even if it just runs for THF/NIN A) THF/NIN B uses SATA behind THF/NIN C, who then gains hate. THF/NIN A then takes a step back and casts Utsusemi, THF/NIN B then runs in front of THF/NIN A who then uses SATA behind B, C steps back recasts, A runs in front of him, etc. When they get TP they can just use SATA > Fast Blade for damage. 3 SATA going a minute should outdamage any Cure III action, and the second round of SATA > Fast Blade x3 should probably finish it or get it damn close. Main trick is every time someone uses SATA, that person tanks next.

Hmmm.. I doubt that would work... Maybe if they all use sleep bolts alot.. and save TP for Weopon skills... Cuz' this things attack speed is insane.. It eats through utsusemi in no time at all. It seems to have a delay close to (if not less than) hornetneedle (150)... Not to mention its horrific AoE paralyze which makes you, not only gain less tp and do less damage, but also may make your SaTa and Utsusemi fail... I think it will be hard...

Just my 2 cents.

think a smn could do this with the avatar strategy? bring 5 yag drinks and just let carby whittle away at him (using his MP on cures) then throw down with Garuda's 2 HR at the end 3 times and laugh. I'm tempted to try it, if I do I'll post my results.
how to win
# Nov 21 2004 at 8:42 AM Rating: Decent
just an opinion, i would not suggest using 3blm's in this. It takes way to long and chances are time will run out. Not to mention that some blm's will be taking dmg and cure II will waste valuable MP required to fight him. My suggestion is to get a DD/blm sub or just a drk as a drk can cast sleep, drain, and aspir which are all super valuable spells in this fight. Not to mention we broke our own personal record which used to be 10mins 38secs we beat it with a time of 7mins 39secs :) on LIGHTSDAY! :O

I did this 3 times last night with the 3 blm setup, we're 3 for 3, and our longest time was a little over 12 minutes. It's actually fairly easy, with 3 people with sleep and aspir, he stays asleep too much to hit you, and the aspir drains his MP in about 8-10 minutes. At the end, just time your nukes so they don't land at the same time, and he'll keep running in circles, and only land a few hits on each of you. Even if you run low on MP, either manafont or ES + Sleep him and rest.

Total Drops: 18,000 gil (bummer!!)

PS- the guide's estimate of 40-200k on these drops was wrong, they seem to be either 3-9k, or 200+k on Ragnarok. Hoping for that sweet, sweet Magician's Earring (350k)
