Battle Notes

In order to enter the battlefield you will need to bring a Sky Orb, which is obtained by trading 30 Beastmen's Seals to Shami in Port Jeuno. When you are ready, trade the Sky Orb to the Burning Circle inside Balga's Dais and choose to enter the battle Creeping Doom.

Up to 3 people may enter and you will all receive a level 30 restriction. You have 15 minutes to win. You will face one opponent: A giant Crawler named Bitoso. He can cure himself, uses Paralyzga, all the regular crawler abilities, and has lots of HP. If you can bring him down you get a treasure crate filled with assorted rewards.

Strategies

BLM BLM DRK BLM BLM BLM

Make sure than the Black Mage's have /WHM and have Paralyna as the Crawler has an Area of Effect (AoE) Paralyze spell. You will also need Aspir/Sleep and a maxed Dark Magic skill level for this fight. Sleep and Aspir Bitoso until he has 0 MP and then nuke him until dead. He is resistant to Silence and casts Cure III on himself so it is important to drain all of his mana.

BLM BLM RNG

The Ranger will need to bring Sleep Bolts. Sleep and Paralyze Bitoso at the start of the fight. The Black Mages should then coordinate their nukes by casting together and the Ranger should sleep Bitoso with the bolts just after the spells hit. With repeated successful cycles, this battle should be easy.

DNC/NIN DNC/NIN NIN/WAR

Pretty easy BCNM. Went in with Utsusmei: Ichi up and some food buffs on and just traded taunt. The 2 dancers healed to trade taunt. Just played through the paralyze and cures and slows. Not a dangerous tactic but we got pretty close on the 15 minute period.

Ranger/Warrior
Ranger/Ninja
RedMage/WhiteMage (me)

This was one fun set up.

1) Strategy was the Ranger/Ninja would sleep bolt while the Ranger/Warrior dished damage with his bow. My job was to keep gravity on and cure status effects. We were doing very very well, until he started spamming cure 3. Both rangers went down. Surprizingly, I lasted a LONG time with no mp. Had a Yagudo Drink on me, I'd either Bind or Gravity, let my mp regen, Blizzard, rince and repeat. I ALMOST HAD HIM! He had a sliver of life left, and then he hit me good and I died. Got some respect from the rangers though.

2) Strategy changed slightly. The Ranger with bolts had sleep and holy bolts macroed. My bind Macro had a call, saying that I was casting Bind. When I did that, The bolter used Holy bolts til Bind wore off. This one we completed rather well.

3) Slight change. Rangers timed Barrage as soon as he started to cast cure, and I Chainspelled Blizzard and he went down quick from there.

Most valuable drop.... Warlocks Earring. *sighs* Worked out to like 15k each... and more than that was spent on arrows and food.

Going to try it again though for sure, now that we have everything down.

Ok, Since everyone doing a BCNM is doing it for the money or drops, first off I would suggest doing this BCNM on a full moon, preferably 100%. This should enhance the chances of your getting good or better drops, maybe even more drops.

Second, click on the link to Bitoso. As last updated he is strong to earth so try to stay away from Stone II if possible. He is weak to Ice, Dark and Light, so best bet is to use those types of weapons with latent effects, weapons skills, and magic.

Third since I Already told you its weaknesses, plan on doing this match during those 3 Vandiel days to give a boost to spells and maybe weaken monster and stay away from earthsday. My best guess is since most are gonna go in with drk or blm setup try darksday to enhance aspir, sleep(its element is dark I believe), and drain.

Well those are my thoughts on this match, these ideas can be used for any BCNM match, so do yourself a favor and click that extra link for your NM and checkout weaknesses/strengths, it may just be enough to save your a$$.

1st time Whm/blm(me) rng/nin drk/war It killed us after we got it 1/3 and it spammed cure3 and poison breathe on us. Only died cuz i got paralyzed.

2nd time, me again rng/nin thf/rng We ran out of time with it at 1/8 hp...we were pissed, had no problems just poor timing

3rd time OMG we killed it, lol time was 13 mins....our timing was still off a little but we help together and killed the SOB i started to nuke when it had 1/10 left (banish2 hit for around 80) 3 spools of silk a trimmer's earring and a hi-potion

4th time Killed it again, time was 10:57 timing was good for the 1st part....we slipped up a little half way thru and picked up again later i nuked was doing 50-80 with banish2 and 50-80 with stonega 1 silk thread a mithril ore a bast parchment and another trimmer's earring, 2 more to go and we're done for the night.....this guy is fun

Best way to kill this.

rng
rng
rng | thf | blm / Whm

sleep bolt it while the 3rd member has whm subbed for paralna and poisona.

It won't move the whole fight, it may land a poison once or twice, but thats it.

We're 6/6 Atm, and just calling in anyone with 30+ seals to do it with us.

On a side note, the drops are kinda crappy.

I loved the video. I thought it was awsome you guys did it with only 2 guys. I noticed that there were quiet a few errors made but what can you do in a rushed battle like that. After watchin your video me and my friends went and tried. We smashed the record on our server Midgardsormr with a woppin 3 minutes and 16 seconds. The previous record was like 8 minutes. We used BLM/WHM RNG/WAR and myself MNK/WAR.

I was wondering what program you used to record your fight with, I wanna try doing some more of these and post our times.

By the way we have fought the BCNM30 4 time's. First 2 times we got **** drops. max 20k on one the one drop which was a Wyvern Earring which sells for 20k in Jeuno. The last 2 times we went we got the mercinaries earring both times. They go for 200k each in Jeuno on our server.

MNK/WAR - Myself Fatqb
BLM/WHM - Gadam
RNG/WAR - Fordster

I know the Dispel scroll is a rare drop, but has anyone whose done it gotten that scroll? If so, just how rare is it?

I'd love to not have to buy Dispel, but I don't want to use all of my seals just to get one scroll.

I did this BCNM last night 6/6 times, and to tell you the truth it was super easy. the first ime our PT was 2x RNG, we just used barrage and kept using sleep bolts until barrage was activated again. the 5 other times we invited a blm/whm, he slept bitso when he started casting cure III, cured our paralyze (rarely got us with it) and most of all magic bursted our skillchains with Water II. if u want to really own this crawler use this pt setup or one similar. i think the total time it took us was 2 hrs and that because we had to run back for orbs ^^ happy hunting.

1000 - Gil
1 - A sheet of bast parchment
2 - A spool of silk thread
1 - A chestnut log
1 - A mythril ingot

rng/nin, blm/whm, blm/whm

Not the best strategy, but it works. Zone, Protectra, Food, Utsusemi, Rng runs up and sleep bolts. Mages set up, making sure theres is sufficent space between all party members, so paralyaga doesn't get the whole pt. Sharpshot + Barrage + 2 Nukes at same time, then ranger sleep bolts again. ES + Aspir, then Holy/Bloody bolt + 2 Nukes, then sleep bolt. Try to time the nukes and holy bolt together, so the creature doesn't get woken up from sleep. So all 3 people damage it at same time, then rng puts it back to sleep right away. Keep repeating, subbing aspir for nukes when avail. If rng misses or sleep effect doesn't go off, blm should wait to nuke until creature is sleeping. The repeated sleeping stops most of Bitso's spells, usually he only gets one off when rng misses, or effect fails. Requires a lil communication, but we use voice chat. Not the quickest strat, but consistent. I forgot to log the other loot from previous outings... going to do it 2 more times tonight... i'll post winnings.

Would this pty setup have a high probability of success? What would be more useful whm/blm or rng/nin? Both at 30/15 w/ appropiate equipment, food, drinks, potions, spells ect...

I was the DRK/THF in the pt with Daspuh. Here's the strategy we finally found to work best.

PLD casts Protect II and Shell on all 3. PLD heals to full mp. DRK and BLM use meat mithkabobs, and PLD uses boiled crab. BLM and PLD use Yagudo drinks while DRK uses pear au lait drink. Then we head to battle

PLD vokes and DRK casts Bio while BLM casts shock. DRK lines up behind crawler, and after 2nd voke from PLD uses Last Resort and Sneak Attack. Continue using Sneak Attack throughout battle. BLM uses melee in order to use Brainshaker WS. We found that the paralyze AOE was our biggest problem. So DRK used Weapon Bash, PLD used Shield Bash, and BLM used Brainshaker to stop Paralyze as much as possible. The Cure III's weren't really a big prob as the DRK was doing 60+ dmg every hit, and over 100 dmg on the Sneak Attacks. The BLM was using Thunder as much as possible. Kept Bio casted as often as possible. BLM and DRK used Aspir and Drain as often as possible, Drain was doing over 100 dmg often, and Aspir was taking from 15 - 60 mp. If I didn't need many mp when Aspir was rdy again, I'd use a Blizzard spell to add a little dmg and make room for some mp. Everytime we used Aspir enough the crawler would run out of mp at about the 8 minute mark. Once this happened no more Cure III or AOE paralyze. We also set-up an Impaction Skillchain (Shadow of Death >>> Flat Blade) and the BLM would MB off of it. Typically managed to do this twice each time we fought it. Sneak Attack + Shadow of Death wasn't doing much more then normal Shadow, so I didn't combo them after I realized that. That was all we really did, and eventually outlasted him. The BLM did use paralyze on the crawler and it worked ok. If the PLD was getting to low on hp, I'd use Souleater just to pull hate off him. The poison attack killed us both times we failed because we were paralyzed and falling behind. That's the reason we started stopping the paralyze so we could actually cast and use our abilities.

Highlight items:
All prices on Gilgamesh server

Magician's earring = 260k
Utsusemi: Ni = 200k (BLM kept as he is lvling NIN as well
Genin Earring = 160k
Mercenary Earring (Daspuh kept this one) = 60k

Our final total for the 4 battles was about 700k all told. Well worth it, and I'd like to do it again.

Just completed, went 4/6. Drops are real hit and miss. first = 16k, second = 520k, third = 5k, forth equaled 180. Got one of my Mercinary Earrings I wanted. We were...

PLD/WAR (me)
DRK/THF
BLM/WHM

It's a rough setup but we did it. No record, just about 230k apiece.

Yesterday I did this BCNM 3 times and was succesful on 2 of the attempts. The party set up was this DRK/THF (Me, Drizzle) WAR/SAM (Sectoid) and BLM/WHM (Redman). We are on Ramuh server.

Attempt 1
This is the first time any of us had done the BCNM me (DRK) and the WAR each used meat mithkabobs and the BLM used an apple pie. The BLM and I aspired when we could and the BLM nuked/healed while me and the WAR beat on it. The WAR and I skillchained Sturmwind > Shadow of death and the BLM and I magic burst with Blizzard. We got into trouble and all of us used our 2hrs (I used souleater and last resort with mine) We beat the crawler in 8 minutes and 17 seconds. The WAR ended up with about 25 hp left but everyone lived and we got:

1k gil
3 silk thread
1 iron ingot
1 amethyst
1 dispel scroll

Attempt 2
Ok none of us had our 2 hours but the BLM brought some hi-ethers and melon drinks and another apple pie, the WAR used a fish cheifkabob instead of meat mithkabob (i used one). Same strategy as before. The WAR also brought 4 X-Potion. This time the crawler did use paralyga and hit me and the WAR I only missed one or 2 attacks because of it and ended up taking most of the agro but my hp never dropped below 150 (thanks to drain and aspir).
No 2 hours and the WAR had to use all his X-Potions but we survived no one died and we beat it in 8 minutes and 37 seconds. We got:

1k gil
1 pilferer's earring (which i paid them for and am currently using)
2 silk thread
1 hi-ether (we gave to the blm)
1 bast parchment

Attempt 3
Same set up as before same items brought with/used. Things were going well until about halfway through when the crawler used paralyga and the blm got hit by it. The WAR couldnt hold agro cause he was paralyzed and the BLM went down with the crawler having about 1/8 of his life left. The WAR and I fought on but with no 2hrs and no more healing I dropped and the crawler had maybe 1/10 of his life if not less. The WAR had about 150 hp left and got his WS off right before he died unfortunatly it wasnt enough. The crawler probably had about 100-150 hp left after we were all dead.

Summary
In all it went pretty well. I had a great time doing it and we will end up making a small profit when all the items sell. I'm looking forward to getting more orbs and doing it again. As long as your blm can avoid being paralyzed the mob isnt that hard but i recommend having at least 2 people that can use aspir so the crawler cant spam as many cure 3s.

It really is a fun BCNM to do. Potential to get rich from it.

A couple small corrections though:
Attempt 1: I did use 4 x-potions
Attempt 2/3: I used 5 x-potions each

Just wondering

Would: WAR/WHM
WHM/BLM
RNG/NIN
Work for this effectivly? We're thinking about having the WAR and RNG use Bloody Bolts + Crossbow for alot of the HP draining till it's at 1/3'd then having the RNG roxor it's boxorz while I (the WHM) keep para off of everyone and try my damndest to silence it while keeping everyone alive.

drk/war [ls member]
blm/whm [friend]
blm/whm [me]

We seemed to always run out of time. Right at the end of nearly every fight my friend and I always seem to run out of mp for the last nuke to kill it off...anybody have any methods or ideas that will finally kill this beast (?.?)

Fought this thing 4 times, beaten it 2 times.
Funniest part is the times we beat it we slaughtered it, the times it beat us, we were slaughtered.

First time we beat it the lineup was WAR/DRK, WHM/SMN, and DRG/WAR. Nothing good dropped.
Second time we fought it it killed us. After this I decided to lvl m DRK up to 30 (was only 3 lvls away). Third battle we were killed.
Fourth battle though we went in with DRK/WAR, WHM/SMN, and DRG/WAR.
I had 3 Hi-Potions, a Boiled Crab, and a Pamama au Lait. WHM had 2 Yag drinks, a Hi-Ether, 2 Ethers, and used and a Rollnberry Pie. DRG had 3 Hi-Potions, Mithka's, and a Pamama au Lait.

Me and the DRG voked of of each other every 15 seconds, I Aspird whenever I can. We used Distortion skillchain whenever we could. I used Berserk, and Last Resort. Our WHM kept us healed. I did have to use my 2 hour, but that is because WHM was a little low on MP, so I used Souleater and Bloodweapon together to keep myself healed as well as using Hi-Potions.
We killed him quite easily, it was Iceday if that matters to any of you. Crawlers are weak aganist Ice.
Anyway we got Erase for our WHM! She is so happy now!
With this set up we were out damaging his Cure 3's, we didn't even relize that he was casting it.
