Battle Notes

In order to enter the battlefield you will need to bring a Sky Orb, which is obtained by trading 30 Beastmen's Seals to Shami in Port Jeuno. When you are ready, trade the Sky Orb to the Burning Circle inside Balga's Dais and choose to enter the battle Creeping Doom.

Up to 3 people may enter and you will all receive a level 30 restriction. You have 15 minutes to win. You will face one opponent: A giant Crawler named Bitoso. He can cure himself, uses Paralyzga, all the regular crawler abilities, and has lots of HP. If you can bring him down you get a treasure crate filled with assorted rewards.

Strategies

BLM BLM DRK BLM BLM BLM

Make sure than the Black Mage's have /WHM and have Paralyna as the Crawler has an Area of Effect (AoE) Paralyze spell. You will also need Aspir/Sleep and a maxed Dark Magic skill level for this fight. Sleep and Aspir Bitoso until he has 0 MP and then nuke him until dead. He is resistant to Silence and casts Cure III on himself so it is important to drain all of his mana.

BLM BLM RNG

The Ranger will need to bring Sleep Bolts. Sleep and Paralyze Bitoso at the start of the fight. The Black Mages should then coordinate their nukes by casting together and the Ranger should sleep Bitoso with the bolts just after the spells hit. With repeated successful cycles, this battle should be easy.

DNC/NIN DNC/NIN NIN/WAR

Pretty easy BCNM. Went in with Utsusmei: Ichi up and some food buffs on and just traded taunt. The 2 dancers healed to trade taunt. Just played through the paralyze and cures and slows. Not a dangerous tactic but we got pretty close on the 15 minute period.

Is there any confirmation that Erase actually drops from this. I think someone said it did here, but everyone else has failed to produce it. I want to confirm this for a friend before wasting seals.

I had accidentally picked up a BCNM30 orb way back when, so I decided I'd try to solo this as a THF/NIN. I loaded up on R.Acc. gear, sushi and bolts and headed in.

My strat was to keep Utsusemi up at all costs, all the while sleep bolting his *** into submission, with an occasional SA-Shadowbind.

I wasn't really expecting to have any chance of killing this guy, but I was suprised by the amount of damage I was able to do before I did lose. Got him to about 1/3 HP before I succumbed to a bad string of paralyzed ranged attack attempts and misses. Didn't pop my Perfect Dodge either. The problems you will face solo (and duo) stem from the Paralyzga more than anything else. He couldn't really break through my evasion and Utsusemi, but with that paralyze you can't get a bolt off.

It was fun but I won't be doing it again anytime soon. ^^
W00t we did this !!!

Went last night as war/nin, thf/nin, and war/drg.
No problems at all. Used sleep bolts to try and stop it from healing and bloody bolts to drain hp and heal. Plus the occasional acid bolt to lower it defense. We also each took a couple hi-potions to help cure incase we missed the bloody bolts. I (war/nin) used 2 hi-potions. It took us a little over 7 min.

We worked on our markmanship for a couple days thf has his at 90, war/drg (needs to work on it) at 15, and war/nin(me) i have it at 65. All and all was easy just keep shooting bolts. Have thf/nin (or person with highest markmanship) keep firing sleep bolts, Acid bolts and bloody ,when he needs hp, and have the war/drg do the same, even though he wasnt hitting them to often, I was usin bloody, sleep, and holy bolts as needed.

Drops were:1000g
Genin ring: 550k on Unicorn
Mercenary's ring: 50k
Hi-potion
silk thread

First run we had we went whm/blm (me), thf/nin, and drg/war. Thf/nin was the only one using bolts. Had a little trouble with him since he was curing alot. Took us 13 min and change to finish him off. But all and all we killed him and figured out a strategy that worked for us the second time around.

Hey guys its me again ^.^. Well, Xeme, Zith and me went at it again, same setup war/nin (using a great axe, and after first sturmwind swith to a battleaxe +1 and an archers knife), thf/nin (using an archer's knife and some other dagger), and a war/drg (using great axe). All three of us were using sleep bolts, bloody bolts, and warriors were also holy bolts once in a while to hit harder.
First three times we went were great we were doing around 5 1/2 min to kill Bitoso and got good drops. We got 2 genin earrings, a wizards earring, and a couple other things totally around 1.2 mil over the first 3 times.
We then went back to Jueno to get more orbs. We head back to giddeus and try it again. The first time we did it we got some crappy stuff. But the second time we went we got an Utsusemi: Ni scroll and another wizards earring and some other stuff totaling around another 1 mil. We are so happy now, we are getting around 700k each, and for one nights work I think its great.
Now all we got to do is go get more seals ^^. Guess I'll go lvl another low lvl job now. Anyway if you guys have any questions about the strategy we used it is simple take lots of bolts and have high markmanship. Xeme's markmanship is capped at lvl 30, Zith needs to work on his but it is around 40 something, mine is at 82(real close to cap ^^). Also take range accuracy gear and food as it will help to land the shots when they really count, especially when he starts spamming cure IIIs, you wanna make sure you sleep him or he will be curing all night long.
Many told us we wouldnt be able to do this BCNM but we have really proven them wrong. Dont believe everything you hear or read, like her it says you should take something like 3 blm, or rngX2 and a blm. Not true! Last night some friends took that setup and time ran out on them. So not every setup will work... if u have high markmanship and some dedicated ppl i garuntee(spelling =p) you will not fail at this. On Unicorn the record is 4:18 we got our time down to as close as 5:14secs.
Sorry for the long post ><...... It is only my second post so please understand me, I get a little over excited. =P

Adding to Vids post, we used the following macros, very helpful:

ALT+1
/ra <t>

ALT+2
/equip ammo "Sleep Bolt" <me>
/ra <t>

ALT+3
/equip ammo "Bloody Bolt" <me>
/ra <t>

Pretty much just time the cures, as he gets into the lower part of his HP, he starts spamming his Cure III and Cacoons.

Zith, {Marksmanship} {Do you need it?}
/sigh Zith

Not my idea, but i took a party of 3drg/whm in and we dominated. The most you will need is 1 apple juice and the food of your choice.

Just let the hate bounce around naturally and heal those in need. Eventually he runs out of MP and is no longer able to heal himself then the fight ends very quickly.

A few things to note:
1. Keep an eye on Wyvern HP because they will steal hate quite a bit due to the Coccoon the crawler uses.

2. You may be lvl 30 but you will still have Healing Breath3.

Really quite cake and noone was ever at risk even though you have to wait till 1/3hp to heal them, this crawler hits are pretty weak. you wont be breaking any time records, fight will last around 8mins. But your investment is less than 2k per fight so enjoy and burn off some of those extra seals.

In the course of 3 fights we saw 3x silk thread, onyx, lapis luzi, Utsusemi:ni, Esquires Earring, and 2 hi potions.

Did this BCNM 3 times tonight (3 BLMS). I'm on the Garuda sever. This was our strategy:

The three of us went into the burning circle, no buffs, as none were necessary. I did eat a melon pie though.

The first black mage had a macro that said /p Going! <call2>; /wait 1; /ma "Water II" <t>. The 2nd blm would cast Water 2 immediately after he/she saw the 'going' macro; about 3 seconds later the 3rd blm would cast sleep. After 2 rounds, we would cast aspir while he was sleeping to get some mp back. Then we would rotate the set up of 1st nuke, 2nd nuke, sleeper. Casting before Bitoso wakes up again is important, or he will start to spam Cure III. When he got down to a sliver of health, the three of us nuked the crap outta him with Firaga. >=D Bye bye, toasty crawler!

All in all, my macros were these:
1. /ma "Water II" <t>
2. /p "Going!" /wait 1 /ma "Water II" <t>
3. /p Sleep <t>!! /ma "Sleep" <t>
4. /ma "Firaga" <t>
5. /ma "Aspir" <t>
6. /ma "Cure II" <me>
7. /ma "Paralyna" <me>

The first time we did this BCNM, sleep was resisted twice, but we made it. The second time, sleep was resisted, a black mage was in the middle of casting Water II, and woke up the crawler as the 3rd black mage tried to sleep it. By then the crawler had regained too much hp and we were about drained of our mp, so we hightailed it out. The third time, everything ran smoothly.

*** The drops ***
Run #1: Wrestler's earring, spool of silk thread, 1000 gil, some kind of log.
Run #2: Nothing, since we ran away
Run #3: spool of silk thread, sardonyx, 1000 gil, Erase

So just a confirmation that Erase *Does* drop from this BCNM! It was really fun and a great 'intro' to bcnms if someone has never done them before. =D

Hi~
I have actually done this with one my friends a while back; however, we did not do this blm set-up. My friend(Tsengli) and I duo-ed bitosi with our ranger jobs..soo...2 rangers..vs...botosi ~ using sole sushi to provide ++ranged accuracy. We found no difficulties at all against it. Our strategy was basically to nuke it with sleep bolts -- not too tough; however, our drops weren't as well as we expected...thus, i am never doing it again! lol.
Strat
# May 01 2005 at 2:31 PM Rating: Decent
I used BLM BLM RNG. This is an awesome setup, we broke record of 3 minutes with this setup.

Have the RNG go in first and use barrage then have BLM's use Elemental Seal, use firaga. RNG switches back to sleep bolts and sleeps Bisoto. If anything goes wrong just sleep him with the BLM's. From the initial attack just spread out from each other, Aspir bisoto and co-ordinate Firaga with other blm. Use firaga together and run around frantically till the RNG can resleep bisoto. With the RNG sleeping bisoto BLM's don't waste as much MP. From this point just follow the same strat, use Aspir when ready, if not ready just keep on popping firaga till it returns. This way is a great strat and it always works. We only had 1 death the whole 10 times we did it and that was our first run at it, never once failed out of any attempt doing it this way. Just make sure RNG has good gear, good ranged ACC and attack and also utsusemi. If anything goes wrong use eagle eye shot and from that point on he'll have hate for a while and killing it should not be a problem even with BLM 2 hour manafront.

BLM's should have drinks and pies, high INT as well for sleeps and higher damage, don't want any resists happening.

I duo'd this tonight with another RNg from my LS.
Wasn't very difficult. One of us spammed sleep bolts while the other spammed holy bolts. Another RNg would have been nice just to speed up the fight.

Only good drop was a Magicians Earing (500k) tho.

Man i did this wiht my ls dang its so ezy!
2 RNG/NIN
1 BLM/WHM
RNG goes in and sleep bolts it and BLM comes it and elemental seal and bind it and the other rng hits it with Barrage and other RNG hits it with Sleep bolt
BLM nukes every once in awhile. RNG that does not have sleep bolt ranges it like crazy.
Thats how i beat this damn crawler lol but hey its worth it sometimes :)

We tried yesterday on Ramuh with the following setup:

RNG / NIN
RNG / NIN
BLM / WHM

I noticed that there is no better setup than that.

Preparation:

A Rng needs to have marksmannship lvled and capped and needs to have at least 2 stacks sleep bolts for 3 orbs, and the other needs to have archery capped. The BLM just needs to have Bind and Firaga, and sometimes Aspir, but its not soo necessary.

BLM needs some Yag-Drinks and some ethers.

we didnt need any potion, or any au lait and we didnt need any 2 hour-ability.

Here the strategy:

1. Go in Buff-up with Barparalyzra, Utsusemi: Ichi and food.
2. Blm goes and uses Elemental Seal + Bind.
3. Now build up a triangle around him.
4. just shoot in switches. first the archery rng, then when he is half on shoot, let the sleep bolt-rng aim, so the crawler will be aslept immediately and cant cast Cure III.
5. If that doesnt work, let the BLM cast Sleep for safety.
6. When u have some seconds, cast Katon: Ichi and make him lower resistant to Fire.
7. Then, when the BLM has some free MP let him cast Firaga. That should make around 150 DMG.
8. now repeat the step 4 and u ll get success.

That´s it!

We tried it 3 tiems, won 2 times. the first time we lost and built up the strategy.

But the drops werent so high.. ><

1st won:

  • 1 Hi-Potion
  • 2 Silk Thread
  • 1 Magician´s Earring
  • 1 Darksteel Ore

  • 2nd won:

  • 1 Silk Thread
  • 1 Warlock´s Earring
  • 1 Trimmer´s Earring

  • Drops were decent, and we hoped to get Erase or Utsusemi: Ni, but we will make it again often.. we found out, with that strategy u ll have a sure win.

And finally we set a new record ;-)

Well, just did this with a ls buddy and his friend. 2 rng/nin and me 25whm. It was rediculously easy. I'm not sure what the rng's were doing but it involved sleep and holy bolts. I just sat back and paralyna and cured till they killed the thing. We got the Magician earring which sells for 750k on Unicorn. I also got to keep for myself a killers earring, pilferers earring, 3 silk threads, hi-potion, and something else. We did this 2 times in a row and got the magicians earring the second time. Not too shabby!

Have done this guy over 20 times. Lost the first 8 times trying to figure out a strat and have won the last 12 or so in a row. Anyways, 3 BLM totally kill this thing. Tried the Aspir trick at first but didn't like the clear times of 10-14 minutes.

Anyways, here's a vid of the strat we use.
    http://www.rroe.org/turtlelin/Bitoso-Owned.avi

As for party setups, I think any combination of 2 jobs that can sleep reliably will work. I've done it with 2 blm and a summoner, 2 blm and rdm, and we've seen it done with thfs, rngs, and drk. Even did it once with Andruk (in the vid) once with just 2 blm (Elvaan too^^). Strat is all the same. Deal damage then sleep and repeat.

I prefer the 3 blm though because no costs whatsoever and can do it all night until you run out of seals. No juices, no bolts, no 2-hour. Heck you might even be able to do 3 fights on the same pie. With my terrible luck on the drops (2 silk threads, myrthril ore, hi-potion on one orb), it's nice that it's free for us to do. Have also done this on all days and it seems to me that it's hardest on Light and Water Day. Sleep gets resisted and Firaga would get resisted. Cake on Fire Day and even on dark and water, cleartime was about 8 minutes,

Also, we hold the Valefor server record of 2:32^^

Well I was bored last nite and I had an orb for this bcnm sitting around. I read a post how a person did this bcnm with two people in about 8min. SO... I tried it by myself as a rng/nin. Here was my setup:
    All +1 Noct, E-pin, L-boots, 2 A-knives, powerbow, no rings(sold my 30's).
Ammo: 2 stacks each of Sleep/Holy/Bloody bolts, a quiver of silver/beetles were leftover with a bow(I dont remeber which I had)
Food: Batagreen saute, a few yag drinks from leftover bcnms.

Pre-Battle: Very important to setup the right macros so here are mine:
    /equip Ammo "Sleep Bolt"
    /equip Ammo "Holy Bolt"
    /equip Ammo "Bloody Bolt"
    /ja "Eagle Eye Shot" <t>
    /ja "Barrage" <me>
    /ja "Sharpshot" <me>
    /ma "Utsusemi:Ichi" <me>
    /ra <t>
also make a macro to switch between bow and xbow.

Make sure all your macros are working before you go in. Don't test your 2hr though, otherwise you are F--ked.

Battle: So off to the Main Event
    -cast utse
    -pop food
    -tag crawler with sleep bolt
    -change to bow/arrow ->barrage->range atk--> <t>
-change to crossbow/bolt --> sleep bolt
-cast utse and pop a juice
-pop a sleep and get far enough away to pop another sleep
-by this time you can now alternate between sleep and holy bolts. just be sure you are far enough away.
-when crawler is half HP. pop him with Eagle eye (using bow/arrow)
    -switch to use sleep bolts
    -alternate sleep/holy

    Outcome:
    Your time will expire. Sorry.
Even with Eagle eye and two shots of Barrage there just isn't enough damage to finish the fight in time. It is possible to finish with two but almost impossible to solo.
I ended up getting paralzed and lost my regen juice. Got poisoned and died. The NM was at 1/4 HP when I dropped and about 30 sec later I got booted from the circle.

    Suggestions:
Grab another rng or thf and duo it. lol
It will save you more money than its worth.
However for those brave souls who are bored and like to waste money(like myself) solo it.
If you solo it bring some potions and paralyna poition and antidotes. However you still might run out of time because when you pop a potion you miss out on a hit. Something to think about.

It was fun, but I would not solo it again. Bring a friend, wife, girlfriend, or stranger. It's more fun when you win or lose with someone.
Well boys and girls I hope you enjoyed story time!

    SMN x 3
Astral Flow with Diamond Dust/Judgement Bolt on Iceday/Thunder day is by far the fastest way. Could slow it down and have 2SMN 2hr with the 3rd only using Thunderspark.

I was smn/nin since I wouldnt have MP anyways to heal myself, rather have Utsusemi for avatar recasting with 2 x Sleep Daggers (And no I didnt sleep it once, was worth the try lol)

If youre brave you can probably get by with 1 Yag. Drink. (Restores 40MP (120MP/3min) plus 20MP from your Auto-Refresh is 60MP a min.)

I don't really trust the triple-blm setup/aspir thing. I got invited to do that once with a group and it took much too long to drain all its mp. We actually ran out of time once we started nuking it after one of us died.

Did this 3 times with my ls instead.. we're 3/3 with 2blm/whm and 1rng/war. Was a little chaotic the first time but after that was fairly easy.. just balance hate, keep the tank cured.. sleep it if you have to... aspir constantly to keep your own mp up, have paralyna ready, etc...

A few extra tips we picked up.

Me and 2 LS friends did this one in the 3xBLM setup yesterday, and there's a few things we picked up.

    1) Stand in a triangle around him, near the edges of the arena. This way his paralyzga will only hit one person. Don't underestimate the range on this.

    2) Have a solid order for Sleeps set. We used voice comms, so it was easy, but make sure everyone knows who's up next.

    3) Either be Tarutaru, or have a ******** of INT gear and always have good INT food. The Taru in our team didn't have as much INT gear as the other two (both Humes) and didn't have any trouble with Sleep, but one of the Humes had trouble getting Sleep to stick when his food (melonpie) wore off.

    4) Have someone other than the first Sleeper walk in first, that way the first Sleeper does not get smacked and possibly interrupted.

    5) Have a good order of nukes set, and keep a steady rythm. At first we just randomly nuked the crap out of it, but during the 3rd and last battle this almost got our Taru killed.

And for the curious amongst you, we walked away with _two_ Genin Earrings (sold for 700K each), a Pilferer Earring, Esquire's Earring, Warlock's Earring, Magic Finale and some silk. We were teh happy.
    Is Silence an Option?

    Hi everyone!

Myself and a fellow whm are both considering this BCNM in hopes of obtaining Erase. We have a few Rngs and Blms in our LS, but I was wondering if this alternative setup would be doable:

    Whm/Blm, Blm/Whm, War/Mnk

I have read the above posts and find myself wondering, "Is the sleeping to prevent Bitsy from damaging the party, or to keep him from healing himself?"

If it's the latter, does anyone foresee difficulty with starting out the fight like so?

    Whm - Elemental Seal+Silence
    Blm - Elemental Seal+Paralyze
War - Voking and handing out the beat down

Then everyone just does their thing with the Whm and Blm recasting Silence and Paralyze as necessary, and if things start to look dire, have the blm start Sleeping/Aspirring while the whm pops a drink and rests.

its almost impossible to silence this - Ive tried with elemental seal, capped skill and the highest stat boost i could afford, it didnt work either time.

I have heard that bisto has amazing silence resiststance. I havent ever tried to do it, but its what i have heard. Maybe if you get your war to fling out some sleeps blots instead of fighting, it might work. Sleep bolts are the key here (with squid sushi and all the awesome 30ish racc gear) It just so easy!

I did this with a 30WHM with capped enfeebling magic last night and silence didnt work, and he tried 5+ times too....... we went WAR/PLD WHM/BLM and SAM/THF after reading this thread i realize that was a bad setup and needless to say we died both times that we tried it.......

    Good to know!

All our enfeeb skills are capped, so we'll give it a shot at some point this week, and I'll letcha know how uber his Silence resistance is.

    Now let me think . . . Silence is Wind-based and Crawlers aren't particularly strong against Wind . . . then again Paper covers Rock . . . .
    You dont even need three!

I have won this bcnm many times. I usually duo it with another thf/nin (tho a rng/nin would work just fine). We just smack it with sleep blots and SA + Shadowstitch wthen ever our tp is ready. I think we are 8/9 on this bcnm, and the only one we lost was the first time we fought him on darksday (NEVER fight him then he is WAY harder and spams cures alot faster)

We did bring along a whm once cuz he had an orb and wanted to see what this fight was about, he only cast paralana like twice, and banish once at the very end when we finish him with back to back SA.

All in all, this has to be the easiest bcnm fight out there! Our record for 2 ppl is 7:26 sec on earthsday (Bisto is a wuss on earthsday for some reason)
