Summary

Help find Prince Trion a suitable bride.

Walkthrough

It appears Halver is in an undesirable situation. When the quest is accepted, you are given a cut scene where King Destin desires Halver to find a suitable bride-to-be for Prince Trion. After consulting Prince Pieuje, Halver is sent off with a certain description of woman that Trion prefers. Halver requests that you bring this person to him.

Find an adventurer with the description that the King gives you, group with them, and both of you are treated to a great cut scene. You are given Castor's Ring, and the adventurer you brought to Halver is given Pollux's Ring. The rare/ex quality on these rings can be removed by synthing them with a wind crystal, and they can be signed by using a Cyclone crystal.

Just a small question
# Jul 07 2004 at 2:11 AM Rating: Decent
I'm currently doing this Quest and I logged off... is there any delay that the Bride must be found in? Like.. I don't know... 24 Vana-hours or something?
RE: Just a small question
# Jul 10 2004 at 1:52 AM Rating: Excellent
Not sure if you've done it yet, but no, no time limit. It took a friend of mine two RL weeks to find someone who matched the description.

i've tried doing this quest three times.

first time, I wasn't able to find a person matching the description at 12am.

Second time and third time I had the right people, grouped with them, brought them in to Halver... and nothing.

I figured it out.

You'll probably feel as stupid as I did after I found out how to do this, but here's the "trick."

First of all, I'm Bastokan, have max fame and Rank 5. I was in the middle of doing Bard AF and entered the Chateau; I forgot who I was supposed to talked to so I talked to Halver, he said something about "conducting yourself properly" in the Chateau. Then, for what ever reason, I talked to him again and got the quest.

So, I'm guessing that's it. You need to talk to him twice. Yeah... I feel dumb...

BTW, I'm not sure if he says the "conduct yourself properly" line to just foreigners, but that would explain why it seems that San d'Orians are the only ones to get this quest.

Right... so I'm Rank6 and have maxed san fame... and I can't get this quest. ...Any thoughts? I know it's a goofy quest but I suppose I'm obcessed with doing as many as possible ><

I'm bastokan, but know citizens of windurst who have done it. I'm a female character but know mithra that have done it. Any help would be appreciated.
Gender Issues?
# Jun 04 2004 at 3:45 PM Rating: Decent
No one has mentioned this, so I don't know if I'm crazy... but, are females allowed to do this quest?

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but its a somewhat reasonable possibility that there would be a restriction.

Males get Castor Rings when they do the quest, females get Pollux rings after being escorted?

i feel a little strange hunting down a redheaded mithra to pimp out (and no one else doing the quest has needed a blonde hume with a ponytail while i've been in sandy), so i don't know yet. O.o

Great posts. The way I learned about this quest was when I was fishing in Cheval River, and someone shouted for a "Female Tarutaru with red hair in pigtails" ...it was so precise I thought the guy knew me! (I did it with rank 3 windurst and enough fame for Drain). Totally fun , buuuutttt...

What is Pollux's ring for?? Lvl 1. , Ex (?), and no stats- what does it do? What's it for? I've read the hints to the marriage thingie, and don't want to throw it away if it is- but there's a paucity of information on the site about it.

Anyone know exactly what and how to use Pollux's ring?
RE: Rings and Follow up?
# Jun 09 2004 at 12:03 PM Rating: Decent
If its for the marriage stuff, its some we (North Americans users) can't do. At least now anyway. Its mainly for the roleplaying part of the game (this is what I've noticed and read), and I've also been told that for Japan where they can be married in game, they have to be married in real life as well or something. I would hold off on the quest for all of you who hasn't done it and would want to do the roleplaying in game, otherwise you'll have an item taking up space which you can't drop if you ever want to use it.
I can't get it though

God knows what level fame I have (it's high enough to get the Drain spell quest, and the summoner trial size quest... I've done 25+ quests in Sandy) and I have Rank 2... Yet I'm unable to get this quest. Whenever I talk to Halver he only greets me and that's that... It's rather annoying seeing everyone else doing this quest..
Redo-able...kinda

I can personally vouch for the cancellation and re-signing of the quest.

I originally had to look for a taru with parted blonde hair tied back into a ponytail, yet i couldnt remember if it was pigtails or not, and he wouldnt tell me again (maybe coz i still needed to finish mission 2-3). And the quest log wouldnt tell me either "Find a suiter based on the description given to you by halver".

I cancelled it and he kept rambling about mission 2-3, so i came back later (also gave more bat wings to that 'scared of the dark guy') and spoke to him twice and he allowed me to find the suiter again, except he told me "You remember what trion likes...a mithra with wild red hair that flows over a headband."

Which was annoying because i found thw taru that was needed before right outside, im not sure if its repeatable, but i kinda spooked the unsuspecting mithra i roped into this quest, im sorry Tomdor!

Ok, to answer some of your questions:

1. Yes, you do have to be a San d'Orian citizen

2. To check the description again, just go to your menu and look at the quest description in the question section of your menu. It'll tell you there.

3. As of the recent update around 5-17 this quest is no longer repeatable.

4. As for the "uncanceling" of the quest, im not sure if you can do it or not.

I just completed this... I was very lucky to find the blond elvaan with high enough rank/fame, with two braids tied, etc. (after all those shouts and derogatory /tells received). Funny cutscene!

No, you don't. I say this because I have the quest, and I am a citizen of Windurst. You simply have to be famous enough, and that works. Now to get into the Chateau, you need to get a Rank 2 San d'Orian or Rank 3 anyone else.
RE: Fit For A Prince Answers

No you do not have to be a San d'Orian citizen. I am a proud Bastoken, Rank 3, with a decent amount of fame in Bastok and San d'Oria and I was able to get the quest the first time I talked to Halver. Just letting you know.

well, I am now up to bastok rank 5, and have enough fame to get the drain quest but still unable to get this quest.

just curious if you could tell me what your fame is in sandy?

Uhh.

"You SIMPLY must have to be famous enough..."
and since this post is for non-Sandy citzens you say they also need rank 3.

If you mean Simply, by doing Missions 1-1 --> 3-1 to obtain Rank 3, and enough fame to get quest. Then, you might be correct. But I'm gonna go with No.

One of my Linkshell buddies has done this quest...apparently the reasoning behind it, is it's a beginning to the quest to able to marry on the game (whenever we get that in North America). Also supposedly you can use a crystal on your ring (Wind?) and put your name/initials on it...untested by me, but tested by others.

Ok, I finished the quest because I happened to be partying with a lil taru girl with green hair the entire day and i just happened to remember to do the quest. So I take her with me and i get a pretty funny cutscene - Trion gets all pissy and kicks everyone out - the Dread Dragon music starts playin when he ges pissed. Halver thanks you for your time and gives you the Castor Ring - which I see no purpose in it? Anyone have a clue?
will not give quest

He won't give me the quest. You don't have to be a San doria resident do you?

I am rank 3 but my fame in sandy isn't that good but I shouldn't need it. my home nation is Bastok. I talk to him and he just says something about behaving myself in the Chateau.

Actually if you just talk to Halver again he'll remind you of the description. It's a good thing I did cause I've been looking for a Mithra with pig tails when I needed a Mithra with braids.

LoL I got this quest the day of the update when I was running around doing the Ballista quest - I just felt like talking to Halver, then i accidentally hit it again then all of a sudden I was in a cutscene. I think it's pretty funny that Trion likes Taru girls with Green hair - Damn Elvaan Freak likes midgets w/ moldy hair! Sick Fawk! lol I still have yet to complete -- I'll update it when I do it: /goodbye

Castor and Pollux are the twin sons of Zeus (and the brothers of Helen of Troy, I think). They're in a constellation...

I was introduced to this quest from Elvaan, lookin' for my chara... (Brown semi-long hair tied back by red ribbion) And when I saw it I was laughing my head off... I couldn't breathe! oh I must meantion if ur the person seeing Trion, u get "Pullox's Ring" and when ur the one originally signed the quest u get "Caster's Ring"... When I did this quest, my Elvaan (blond hair, pigtails) pal told me something about Pullox and Caster... if only I could remember wha it was...

I found out about this quest thanks to a Japanese player doing everything in his power to convince me to come with him to the Chateau ^^ Apparently, the person that gets chosen to go see the Prince gets the title Consort Candidate (or something like that). You also get the Pollux Ring. For those of us who don't know, Pollux and Castor are the two Gemini :) I completed the quest and got both rings, and equipped them both with no visable effect. Strange indeed, but I'm keeping them on anyway ^^

Oh yes, I also believe you get the title Royal Wedding Planner from completing this ^.^

I got tired of looking for that description and wanted to reset it to a different one. Since the quest is posted as repeatable I guessed this could be accomplished easily. Wrooooong! Once cancelled I could not get Halver to re-issue the quest. I even tried to bribe him...after much fuming I gave up. Is there any way to re-do this?

I went back to Halver to see the description again and accidently cancelled the quest! Is it possible to ever get cancelled quests back? Or will I never find the mate for the prince?!
Did it, more information to follow.

I just finished this quest.

1. It is repeatable. Talk to Halver if you have nothing else to do and he'll give you the quest.

2. The ring you receive is a level 1 rare exe with no stats. There must be more to this quest (or atleast a follow up quest that uses the ring in some way.)

I agree with the poster in that it is different for each person. I met someone who was looking for an elvaan with red hair, mine was strait white hair parted in the middle.

Quite a fun quest, actually. I had to convince a Japanese person to help me, as there was no one else I could find. The auto translator just doesn't do it... =P [Help me out!] [Quest] [Short time] =P

Also, they must be able to enter the Chateu. the first person i got was rank 1, and she couldn't follow me in, and therefore couldn't help me complete the quest (even grouped, she couldn't follow me in.) Make sure they can enter the Chateu.
