Duo'd this with a friend of mine as DRG/WHMs. Pretty effortless with food and drinks. We did it twice in a row. The only thing is if you don't finish it off fast enough you'll lose the wyvern to the Poison. And once the pet's gone, so is your Healing Breath II/III. Not having Spirit Link is probably just as well, as you can't afford to take the HP dive. It was easier than I expected, and very intense.

Gearwise, we went for DEF, except my friend used Bone Earrings and Courage Rings, I went with HQ Energy Earrings and HQ Stamina Rings. Defense food, yagudo drinks and Pear au Laits. I used a Hi-Potion per fight, my friend used an average of 2-3, but then his wyvern didn't have Healing Breath III, but II.

Hope this helps, I do encourage other Dragoons to try this. You can bring in a third and make it a serious blast.

This BCNM was made for bsts.

experiences pre-bst:

WHM: death
SMN: death
NIN: death
SMN: death
SMN: death

as bstwith 1 other bst:

win
lose (charm wouldnt stick >.<)
win
win

of my wins, im 0/3 on astral, 1/3 on thnder pact. this bcnm is VERY easy as bst.

*Note: did 2 runs of 2 each orb. 1st 2 runs were BST, BST, second 2 runs were BST, BST, WHM. WHM is a GREAT addiction to fill the 3rd openning. silence stuck fairly well on colo, so no nasty poisonga

Did this last night. Bst/War Pretty easy.
Used 11 Hi-Potions, 1 Tuna Sushi (+5Chr), 1 Au Lait.
Charmed first Furie, used 2 hr, sent it against Colo-Colo, then went after 2nd Furie.
After 1st died, Charmed 2nd Furie (on second charm, first failed), then sent it to Colo-Colo.
The 2nd Furie killed Colo with about 1/3 of it's life left. Never lost charm. Next time I may use a sole sushi instead for extra hitting strength. Didn't care for how much hp it (the Furie) had left after killing Colo. Louse drops :)
44k to make about 15k on Ragnorak.
But it was fun, will do again.

I also did it as a BST/PLD and im 7/7, 1 astral drop. I have a lot of fun doing this, and it doesnt cost me much to do the fight, since i can synth my own Hi-Potions, which saves a crap load of gil. With BST/PLD, and i must stress not even with a monster signa, most potions ive used was 5, and the most failed charms was 6 ><. That run was when i had to use 5 potions. Bring some juice with you to fight, itll save on the usage of hi-potions to cut pre-battle costs. I use Pineapple, and it seems to work wonders for me atleast. Good Luck.

EDIT - Now im 9/9, and my last run i did it on the beginning of Darksday. I figured it would be a crazy run, but i didnt want to wait an hr so i did it anyway. Oddly enough, it was actually easier then some of my other runs not on Darksday. Even odder, Drain seemed to be weaker then the other days ive done it on. Usually if i miss the first charm i get Drained 3 times and dropped down to lower then 50% HP. This time i was only dropped to just under 70%. But, Darksday w/ bats does have its cons. I landed charm on 2nd try, 2hred, sent it to colo. Usually my pet gets colo to lower then 25% or even kills it. This time my pet died when colo was at 50%+ HP ><. Lucky the 2nd bat seemed stronger for some reasons and got colo down to 10% before it got killed off. NOTE: I still dont have a signa ; ;. So this is possible w/o a signa. I also did this using only 1 Hi-potion ^^

Does anyone think this might be possible as a normal combination? Theres like 10 pages of people saying they beat it with bsts and 5 of people saying they beat it with smns. Thanks for the news and all but, we know. I was thinking this..(Since we're basically limited to this)

Brd/whm
War/mnk
Whm/blm

Aside from dps I don't think we would have a problem.. but thats the problem. I was also wondering about a Brd/bst combination? Would the bst being 10 make the charm weaker, or is it completely based off cha? I'v got good enough cha gear I think, signa, whistle, hope rings etc etc. If you think its possible even if we were forced to 2h each time, thats good enough. Thanks in advance for any input.

I soloed this 4 times yesterday as BST/PLD yesterday, while soloing is definetly possible, after doing it I'm going to recommend you absolutely do not. Unless you're very lucky and get an Astral Ring you're going to spend more than you'll earn.

Soloing 4 times I used about 14 Hi-potions total, 4 Tav Tacos, 4 Pamama au Laits. If you have good charming gear and dont have to run around a lot and do everything as you should I've had to use as few as 2 Hi-potions the whole battle. The most I used was 10 because I did too much damage to the second furies which meant I had to solo Colo-colo longer than I should have had to.

So 70k in Hi-potions, 20k for Tav Tacos, 10k for the Au Laits, and in 4 runs got about 30k total in drops. However I did get a ton of respect and feel like a celebrity now, I even broke the record time on Fairy at 5 Minutes 9 Seconds the one run where everything went right and only used 2 potions. So I'm down 70k, 80 beastmen seals...but it was still fun.

The pros of doing it with other people is its safer...assuming they know what they're doing. Actually at no point during any of my four runs did I feel in danger of dieing...everything went very well even if I had multiple failed charms to start. You just need to keep cool. While I was waiting for my 2hr to be ready I watched parties of 3 die so quickly simply because they didn't know what they were doing and didn't have good gear.

If you're a BST doing this I can't stress how important a Monster Signa is, in 4 runs I had at most 3 failed charms, which is no big deal in 4 runs...I watched BSTs with all CHR gear minus the signa repeadtly fail their charms and have problems. The other perk of doing it with other people is you split all your drops...assuming they're people you trust, when keeping your own drops theres an extremely high chance you'll get ****...like I did 4 times in a row. I didn't even get a thunder spirit pact which I thought I'd at least get that in 4 runs...that would have covered my costs at least.
smn, bst, pld?
# Oct 28 2005 at 2:01 AM Rating: Decent
Ok, havent done this yet but want to do it soon, lvled smn specifically for this, even got garuda (any opinions on a need for Ramuh since theyre also weak to thunder?). My LS mate is lvling bst even as we speak and another mate has PLD well above 20. We would like to do this without any need for 2hr so that we can do it multiple times (I have 150 seals >.>) Like I said I have never done this before, and know almost nothing about bst so I thought I'd see if anyone wants to give me any input on the strategy I am devising...
SMN/WHM<-- Me
BST/WAR
PLD/WAR
Buff up, foods/meds (thinkin I will need yagudo drinks, not sure on food as my main is a non-mage, and ethers, hi potions, some def up food and au late for PLD, and some charisma up for bst. Go in, break garuda out and have bst charm one of the furies. Seems to me like it makes the most sense for me to solo Colo-colo with garuda, just letting her die and resummoning while colo comes after me. PLD engages other furies and vokes the first set if charm doesnt stick. Once fluries are charmed all three gang up on the other furies to finish it off quick as possible. Now sick bats on colo-colo. Wait for colo-colo to kill bats then bst and pld engage him while I keep garuda going (if I have enough MP still) and cure.
I should probably also mention at this point that we are not interested in beating any records, and I'm sure this stragegy could take a little while since neither bst nor pld are all that strong as DD.
So theres the jist of my idea... thoughts?

I heard someone on my server soloed this BCNM with Ramuh. I would suggest using Ramuh since last time I checked Judgement Bolt hits bats stronger then Aerial Blast. But, you all shouldn't have a problem as long as everyone can stay alive for two Aerial Blasts.

I'm gonna try to solo this myself as SMN with Ramuh to confirm that it can be. I don't expect it to cost as much as soloing it with BST if it's possible.

Just because u do not understand or can't use a job class does not make it lame. Yes they can solo but i would never recommend it for this as the cost is too high. Only really solo this for cudos. Face facts having bst is the best way to get 100% victory (if people do thier job). Saying u cant be bothered to lvl a job to 20 when the reward could get you 1.3-1.5 mil is pretty poor. Maybe another BCNM would suit u better

I just soloed this BCNM as a BST/PLD, eating a Tav Taco, drank one Pamama au Lait that lasted the entire fight, and used 7 Hi-potions. I did it on Watersday, 100% Fullmoon...I didn't intend to do it then, I just checked now after my success so I could post the info here. Anyway, to the poster saying "Enough about BST doing this", reading about a BST's experience should give you an idea of what you need in a normal party to succeed in this BCNM.

I had fairly good gear for that level, Power Sandles' +3 VIT along with Warrior Belt +1 and the Tav Taco made me extremely durable. The Furries were hitting me on average for 14 damage, the main NM hit me for mid to upper 20ish. For any BSTs attempting to solo its very simple if you have Hi-potions, Tav Taco and Au Laits used. My HP never went below 280, my max was about 420.

I charmed one Furries, 2hr'ed and sent him on the main, then engaged the other Furrie on the other side of the arena and meleed him. I got the Furrie to slightly above half health before my pet died. I switched to Charming gear, charm failed so I ran around a bit...tried again and failed, charmed on the next try, sent him to fight...stood back and let the Au Lait regen my HP and used 1 Hi-potion...had to recharm the furrie once more and send him in again, it finally died and it was just me and the main NM. He had maybe 1/4 HP at most...like I said hiting me for anywhere between 20-30 HP...I used maybe one or 2 Hi-potions at most during the fight with him and he died.

I was so happy that I succeeded in doing this, some people in my LS were very negative saying I'd die and it was a waste of an orb...but I had to try, and I'm glad I did. The drops were horrible though, I got Black Rock, Deodorize, Bat Fang and a Mythril Ingot...Santa doesn't like me too much =P. Gonna go do it again when 2hr is up. Enjoy!

Me and my buddies demolished the record from 6:54 to 4:19 the other day on the Odin server. We had 2 BST20/10WHM and me as RDM20/WHM10. They charmed the furies and i healed them/nuked/melee'd cola cola, then when cola cola was beat, we would wait until one furies uncharmed, and we would fight that one. Then we would wait until the other furies would uncharm and fight it. We rarely used the Hi-Potions and i rarely had to use my melon juice. And we got one astral ring. w00t.

I just completed this BCNM solo as a 20BST/10MNK (for counter)
the fight went very well, done in 6 mins 42 sec's (only ~30 sec's off the record)
used 10 hi-pots, 1 pamama(sp) au lait, 1 tavnazian taco
first charm stuck, 2hr, pet dies colo at half life, I am meleeing other furies on other side of battle grounds, charm the one I am fighting (3rd charm sticks) colo kills that one with 5% life left. I whack him a few times and its over.
Astral drops, and I am 1mil (seraph server) richer in 6 mins 42 sec's. This will help me greatly as my highest job is only 30 and isn't even my main anymore. All in all it went about as expected from what I have read on here.

my gear was:
battleaxe
mahogony shield
lizard body, legs, feet
battle gloves
hope rings for charm courage rings for battle
nobles ribbon
optical earring
bird whistle
warrior's belt
dhalmel mantle

nothing too special

88% moon
lightning day

I think just got very lucky :)
best of luck to anyone that tries

I've never done a BCNM, but if you were to solo it could you use something like, since these are bats, silent oil and run to the other side of the area to heal then start fighting again?

No.

Once you enter the circle and you have aggro you have to win or die, the only way to rest in the middle of a BCNM would be to sleep the mobs.

Assuming you could actually sleep them, you'd have to bring a bard for any real chance at it since bats are dark and sleep is dark. But lullby works pretty well on mobs that are resistant to the sleep spell.

I've solo'ed this BCNM 6 times now
(so far only 1 astral, but that's ok)
anyway, if you're going to solo this battle, IMO paladin is the subjob to use. You can the job trait 10 defense at lvl 10, same as a warrior, in addition you can also cast protect on yourself (another 10 defense) and heal yourself. I was worried that self-cure would pull Colo-colo off of my familiared Furie, but it seems that after a few attacks, the Furie has generated enough hate that i can cure myself freely. So pop a juice and go for it. My average Hi-potion use for soloing this fight is 2-3 [I only use one when my charm fails to land]. BTW, my Elvaan BST/PLD has 40+8 MP with tavnazian taco, which is plenty to last me until my first pet dies when using a 2MP/tick juice.

I hope this helps people who are thinking of soloing this BCNM, It's saved me a lot of gil on Hi-potions.

Subbing PLD is a great idea, I'll have to try this next time I go. I solo'd it for my sister a couple of times (she just stood in the corner most the fight and paid for my supplies), but she did cast protect on me before the fight, and I did notice a difference of taking 5-10 less dmg per hit, and that's a lot when you have 3 bats pounding on you.
No BST needed
# Sep 29 2005 at 7:05 PM Rating: Decent
We went in 3 times in a row.

PLD/WAR, WHM/BLM and WAR/MNK. We didn't have +1 gear, but we did have decent stuff, nothing over the top though. Food and juice are a big help. We used sushi, tacos and rolanberries as we didn't know what to expect, but you should be able to replace them with cheaper options, except for the pie.

Our strategy was, food first, then enter BC, buffs and drinks. I used Blink just in case. Bind lands as does Paralyze, but the former wore off too fast to be worthwhile. Paralyze is worth it on either one of the three bats.

PLD voked Colo-colo while the WAR engaged one of the Furies. They fought the Furies first and once both had dropped, then Colo-colo. We used Antidotes on the first run, because Poisona uses 8 mp. Totally not worth it! Colo-colo spams Poisonga like crazy, BUT the poison tick is so slow, that with pear au laits or better you don't have any worries with it. For the second and third run, we ignored Poisonga's effect altogether, it's no biggie with HP juice.

Don't use Cure II unless absolutely necessary, it's instant aggro. With fast casting of Cure I and the occasional II, it should be ok. PLD had no trouble tanking all 3 bats, with WAR taking occasional damage.

SC is definitely worth setting up.

You DON'T need BST for this. Not one time did any of us hit red.
Trio SMN
# Sep 28 2005 at 8:01 AM Rating: Decent
I tried soloing these things once before as my smn. Not because I really thought I could, but so I could gauge how difficult they might be. I also learned the hard way how differently these three aggro. Lessons learned.

Last night, however, I had a couple of my friends go in as SMN with me. Two of us had Garuda, the other with only Carbuncle. The plan was, 2hour quickly, and eliminate them asap ^^. Well, we messed up on a couple of things. First, our Carbuncle SMN forgot he'd used his 2 hour already, so we couldn't count on his damage. He decided to do the healing. I told him to sick his avatar on one of the Furies while we took care of Colo-Colo. That was the second mistake.

The two of us with Garuda and 2hours, went in and cast Protect, Garuda, Yagudo drink, Astral Flow, and immediately used Aerial Blast on Colo-Colo. Well, problem was, Carbuncle pulled one of the Furies away from us, and they didn't get hit by either of our first shots. I ran to the other side, waited for Garuda to die, and actually expected at least one bat to come my way, but they were focused on my partner, who's Garuda was still alive. I re-summoned, and sicked her on them again. Waited around until things recharged, and this time, managed to blast all three. Both Colo-Colo and one of the Furies died. That left us with one, who'd escaped most of the damage. Another Aerial Blast from my partner, and they were toast.

Drops were:
Platoon Axe
Mithril Beastcoin
Bat Wing
Scroll: Deodorize

Nothing spectacular I assure you, but the battle was fun, and we're ready to do it again tonight. I've tried talking our Carbuncle only smn to get Garuda at least. We want to try and beat the record on Sylph. From everything I've read, and my experience last night, 3 quick Aerial Blasts should finish off all three.

I solo this BC every full moon.
Equips:
20BST/10WAR
20 Hi-Potions
1 Icarus Wing
Optional HP Regen Food
Squid Sushi (for ACC Bonus and more AGI for evading)

All the best gear for the LVL is a plus. I go all out EVA and ACC for the fighting part of this BC. I also macro in all my CHR gear for best charming percentage.

I use my sushi and enter the BC. While wearing all my CHR gear I run along the left side of the wall and then charm the first Furies. Next I 2HR it and then sic it on Colo-colo. After that I run far away from my pet and Colo-colo and solo the second Furies. during this time I will use Hi-Potions to keep myself alive. (Remember to equip all of your ATK and ACC gear after you 2HR your pet and solo the second Furies) Now 2 things can happen during this time. Either you will kill the Furies before Colo-colo kills your pet or Colo-colo kills your pet before you kill the Furies. In the event that you kill the Furies before Colo-Colo kills your pet then just wait and allow your pet to die then finish Colo-colo off same way you did your Furies. If Colo-colo kills your pet first then equip your CHR gear and charm the second Furies. Now sick this pet on Colo-colo and get far away from them. Most likely you will lose the charm and both bats will come at you. Kite them until you charm the Furies again and then sic it on Colo-colo again. Repeat this until either Colo-colo or the Furies is dead. Now finish the last bat off and glorify yourself for how uber you are and that you soloed BCNM20 "Wings of Fury"

Note: I recommend getting a Monster Signa before attempting this BC solo.
The easiest BCNM ever..

This is seriously the easiest BCNM ever. All you need are 2 BSTs and a healer of any variaty. I usually go BST/WHM and my duo partner goes as BST/WAR, as he's a Galka and I'm a Hume. I always bring 3-5 Hi-Potions and 3 Au Laits.

It's simple. Zone in, buff up. One BST runs left, one runs right. Each charm a Furry and then make them fight the Colo-Colo. Charm fails often, which is the reason why you need a healer. Kite the Furries while you wait for the Charm recast, and then try it again. Once the Colo-Colo is dead you wait for the Furies to uncharm and then turn them against each other. If both uncharm recharm one of them (preferably the one with the least amount of life). Both BST and the charmed Furries beat the hell out of the enemy Furries. Once the first set of Furies dies, let the second uncharm and repeat.

Its best to save TP for the final Furies, just in case things go awry. And for the record I very rarely use my Hi-Potions.
Easy, thanks to advice from previous posts
# Sep 21 2005 at 4:58 PM Rating: Decent
After reading some of the other posts, I convinced some LS buddies to try this with me.

SETUP:

BST/WAR (me, Hume): Had good CHR from Noble's Ribbon, Bird Whistle and two Hope Rings. Subbing WAR instead of WHM helps a lot with taking damage and provoking if things get out of hand. Used Tuna Sushi and one Pear au Lait.

RNG/NIN (Eflaun, Elvaan): Between Eagle Eye Shot, duel-wielding two Battleaxes and archery WS, this was all the damage we neeeded. I've heard that subbing NIN is bad because you don't get Utsusemi, but duel-wield is more than worth it. Used Sole Sushi and one Pear au Lait.
Edit: My friend has decided to go RNG/WAR because now he stands way back and refuses to melee, due to the archery update. Thus, duel-wield is useless. I still contend either way works fine.

WHM/BLM (Wrin, Tarutaru): Curing, buffing, and Poisona purposes. Used one Apple Juice.

The cost of food is fairly minimal, and we are 4/4 so I don't think you need any Hi-potions or anything else.

STRATEGY:

After entering the battlefield, normal Protectra/Shellra/food buffs are applied. BST runs as far to the right as possible, then advances on the bats. BST charms the right Furies. Now, the first time we did this, it took four charms for it to stick. But the last three runs, I got it on the first try. After that Furies is charmed, send it after the other Furies and use Familiar.

Meanwhile, the RNG/NIN beats Colo-Colo as quickly as possible, using Eagle Eye Shot and weapon skills. After the two Furies are attacking each other, the BST helps the RNG kill Colo-Colo. WHM stays as far away from the Furies as possible, as Turbulence can be a problem much more so than Poisonga from Colo-Colo. Out of four times, the un-charmed Furies has beaten the charmed Furies thrice, mainly because the charmed Furies can't use Turbulence, Jet Stream, or anything else. But if the charmed Furies wins, have the BST exit the battlefield, as they will not become un-charmed due to Familiar, and time will expire. You must do this EVEN IF THE BST TRADED THE ORB. I assure you, you will not automatically lose. I was the BST in our party, and I traded the orb in the beginning, and I left the battlefield. The RNG was able to take down my charmed Furies after I left, and we still got the reward.

In any case, with this setup the battle is a breeze. We've never come close to losing, and are 1/4 on the Astral Ring drop. Have yet to see a Thunder Spirit Pact. But it's still the easiest 400k I ever made.

Edit: Well, it was bound to happen eventually... we died and it was all my fault. >< I had used Invincible while partying as a 51 PLD (man I hate Kuftal Tunnel) and when I went to Familiar my Furies, I had 8 minutes left on the recast. Charm wore off, three re-Charms failed, and we all died, first the WHM, then me, then the RNG. So before you do this, just enter a quick: /recast "Familiar"

Anyway I was so mad I went right back to Jeuno and got another Cloudy Orb and boom -- Thunder Spirit Pact. Unfortunately it's only going for 100k on Bahamut. Overall we've won six times, died once, 1/6 on Astral Ring and 1/6 on Thunder Spirit Pact. Once we get that second Astral Ring maybe I can buy some help for my PLD AF.

(P.S. If you're on Bahamut and feel like helping me get my Gallant stuff, send Bregor a /tell. ^^)

Got asked to help with this from random person. It was my first time doing it. Setup was PLD, WHM, BST (me). Had very little trouble with it.

PLD vokes Colo-colo and proceeds to tank colo like normal. I charm a weaker bat, (took 3 charms for it too work, just ran around kiting it til I got it) 2-hour'd the bat, sent it after other weak bat. Once they are going at it, I help the PLD kill Colo-Colo. WHM does their thing curing PLD and whatnot, I occasionally throw a cure to help out. Colo drops, then shortly after my pet is killed. Other weak bat is pretty much dead so takes no effort to finish him off. WHM get's his Astral Ring he was after.

Why wouldn't you use Garuda? They're weak to wind.

Apparently they are weak to lightning too.
split gil?
# Sep 17 2005 at 1:37 PM Rating: Default
the person who traded the orb is supposed to get all the drops, it works out great. If someone gets an astral and someone doesn't tough, go get another orb.

That depends entirely on the agreement that you have with your group. I am 12/12 on this with another BST and a WHM from my LS and we split all the decently priced drops. We split the thunder spirit pact (~70K), Platoon Lance (~20K) and Astral Ring (~980K) and anything else if it was your orb you take what you want and pass the rest.

Regardless of how other people do this or how they define how it is "supposed" to be. It isn't up to the Japanese players who use the "your orb your loot" rule or what you say that determines the trade rule that a particular group decides on for the distribution of the loot. A trusted static group can have whatever distribution rule they want to have, regardless of whatever other people do.

Could this BCNM be done with just 2 MNKs, no 3rd. Or would we need a 3rd as healer or extra DD?

Even if you both 2hour a bat, that still leaves a 3rd that will be hitting someone. Without some form of healing, I don't think you could do it. If you really want to avoid taking a 3rd person, just grab a few hi or x potions to heal yourself with. Oh, and Au Laits are your friend.

what is the record on your server? The record on unicorn was set last night by Decapitate, Deathwish and myself @ 1:23 ^^

I am 2/2 now on this thanks to the strategy that me and my LS mate Leenia have come up with.
Here is how you solo it as a BST.

----------

Prep:
SUB WARRIOR
2 Pear Au Laits (2k each)
15 Hi-Potions (3k each)
1 Tanzavaian Taco (3k each)
SUB WARRIOR
Set a macro to use hi-potions (/item "Hi-Potion" <me>)

These are approximate prices on Siren. I take 15 potions to be safe, but rarely use more then 10. So prep will cost you just over 50k. SUB WARRIOR, trust me, it really, really helps, forget /WHM for this, the MP won't help.

----------

Walkthru:
Enter the BC and DONT MOVE! The bats will not attack until you approach them. Eat your taco and then drink your Au Lait. Don't bother resting.

Now target the furies on the right, and approach on the right hand wall. The bats will aggro after a few steps, but don't worry. Make sure charm and familiar are on macro. Charm the furies and pray it sticks. If it does, hit your familiar macro and have your furies fight the Colo-Colo.

What to do if your charm doesn't stick: Well, this happens a lot more then you'd like it to, in fact, it happened to me 4 times my last run, but I lived no problem. First off, DONT PANIC.

Secondly, run around the outside wall of the arena, make as big of a circle as you can. The bats will miss a lot of attacks if your running in this large circle, and they stop to cast spells a lot. You'll get hit maybe 1 time, plus a few drains might land, usually I take about 100dmg for each failed charm.

Now that you have your furies fighting the Colo-Colo, run to the other side of the arena BEFORE you engage the other set. Fight the furies as you would any other mob, using Hi-Potions as needed. You'll take 20-25 dmg per hit, and they attack fairly slow. They also cast drain, and use blood drain, both are fairly weak, and rarely do more then 20 dmg.

This is important! DO NOT USE YOUR TP ON THE FURIES.

After a few minutes the Colo-Colo will kill your furies, when this happens, charm the ones you're fighting. This is why you don't want to hurt them any more then you have to. If your charm doesn't stick, run around the arena again until you can stick it.

Once you've set your second set of furies fighting the Colo-Colo run to the opposite side of the arena again and heal up as much as you can, either by resting or using potions. This is also a good time to renew your Au Lait if it has worn off.

The Colo-Colo will finish off your furies and come after you, the hard part is now over. Smash it with your TP, and finish it off with regular attacks, don't forget to use more hi-potions if needed.

Usually the Colo-Colo wont have more then 10% health left by this point, and will go down very quickly. At most I've had to use 2 hi-potions at this part. Once the Colo-Colo goes down, open your crate and enjoy your riches.

----------

Other things to note:
Don't worry about poisona or antidotes, the poison rarely lasts for more then 15 seconds, and your Regen drink will more then cancel it out.
Use your second Au Lait as soon as possible when the first one wears off.
Stay as far away from the Colo-Colo as possible until the furies are dead and you have to finish him off, you don't want to get hate from using potions, and he casts poisonga A LOT!
Make sure your 2hour is ready and use it on the first set of furies, if you don't, it's next to impossible to solo.
Run #1 I finished in 6min, my second run with 7 misscharms I still finished in under 9minutes, so you don't have to worry about running out of time.

----------

My first run I got a thunder spirit pact, and other misc stuff, for about 120k total.

My second run, jackpot, got another pact, and an astral.

Total, 2/2 on this, and richer by more then 1.2m, more then cancels out the prep costs on both runs.

UPDATE: 3/3 now. All crappy drops this go, I'll be lucky to clear 10k, so I lost about 30k on this run. (Used 9 Hi-Potions) Also, somehow the second set of furies managed to kill the Colo-Colo, but no biggie, I just waited for them to uncharm and killed them myself. 9min and 1sec to clear.

UPDATE: 4/4 now...barely. DO NOT DO THIS ON DARKSDAY. The drain spells were doing nearly double dmg. The fight started well enough, landed charm on the furies first try, familiar them, and sick em on the Colo-Colo, thought this was going to be a breeze. Well, after the first set of furies were dead I tried to charm the second set. Fail, Fail, Fail, Fail. All the time I'm getting drained for a ton. By the time I landed charm, both the Colo-Colo and furies were back to 3/4 health thanks to drains.

The charm barely lasted for 30 seconds, and I knew a change of strategy was in order. After 10, yes 10, more fails at charming the furies, I finally landed it, and helped them kill the Colo-Colo. With the Colo-Colo out of the way, I figured I might survive this. Not long after the Colo-Colo dropped the furies came uncharmed. I can only say it was pure luck that I lived after I got hit with a drain for 75, and a turbulence for 90. Using my last 2 hi-potions, it was a fight to the death. I landed a crit at just the right moment, and killed the furies with 25hp left.

All this for less then 10k worth of drops. Invisible, a black rock, a bat fang, and a mythril beastcoin. Again, avoid this BCNM on darksday, the power behind those drain spells almost cost me the win. It took me 11min even this time around to squeek out a win.

FINAL: 5/5 now. Went smooth as butter this time. The rock you get is based on the day you do the BCNM. This time I did it on firesday and got a red rock. Also got another thunder pact. I love this BCNM and I hope you enjoy it as well, and I hope this guide helps you win.

<<Valendros eats his words>> I said it would be muy difficult, and I was right. LOL. I said it would take like 20 Hi-Potions and I was almost right...

Would probably be harder with a taru, easier with galka... If you solo this I'd say you DESERVE all the drops. way to go man.

It's really not that difficult. I'm 7/7 on it now, but still no second astral. Leenia finally got her astral on her 7th run. She's 5/7 on it, only because she hit 20bst first and got to test out our theories, and some, uh...didn't work...

>.>

But she's won the last 5 and I've never lost. It really is easy. At first I loved the thrill. But now it's so easy I can almost do it in my sleep. My last run I only used 6 hi-potions and beat it in just over 5min.

I'm a mithra, so I doubt HP or VIT has anything to do with winning or losing. I have 359 HP, 379 with the taco, so nothing amazing there. :)

No

MAYBE if you had like 20 hipotions and all kinds of luck. You'd have to Charm a flurry, set him on Colo, then attack a flurry yourself. But whenever your flurry uncharmed, you'd be being attacked by all 3 at once.

I think you'd run out of time, imho.

When the 1st furies was dead from colo, then charm the furies you're fighting and set him against colo. When that furies is dead, I'm thinking colo would still have 1/4 health or so. And you'd be paralyzed, poisoned, etc. So you'd have to spend most of your mana un paralyzing yourself.

When you have all 3 on you kite them the best you can until you can charm a furies again.

It would be muy difficult.

Additonal Drop
# Sep 03 2005 at 9:05 PM Rating: Decent
Red Rock also drops from this BC.

This is a fairly easy battle with comptent Beastmasters. We did this 6 times as 2x bst/whm and whm/blm, only had one death, but that was also the run where we got an Astral Ring and Thunder Pact, so maybe that's what it takes XD

Drop the 3rd member. Just bring 2 hipotions per person per battle, and you'll be fine. Do 2x bst/whms. easy easy easy.

Better to split 2 ways than 3 ways.
