1-3 Fetichism

What a joke, i had a character in Sandy that was a 3-1 by level 10, yet i need to be 25+ to get 1-3 in Bastok, that makes a lot of sense.

I spent 3 hours on this, and got 3 of the pieces, now I'm just going to buy the head.

Definitely true. :)

I got a full set while getting my palborough chest key at lvl 25, and I would have ended up with more if they weren't classified as rare.

Then I asked my LS and they told me that they're part of a bastok mission. ><

Unfortunately, you have to be lvl 25 or above to solo these quadavs easily (or higher depending on your job and equipment, and links can be REAL nasty), so this little bit of info won't help most people who are doing this mission unless they have some higher lvl friends to help them. :(

buying missions
# Sep 24 2004 at 12:25 PM Rating: Decent
I know a lot of people finish quests by buying the pieces if needed... but this is a mission! The items should be Exclusive as well!! For San d'Orias mission 1-3 i had to kill three orcs.. you cant buy that anywhere...

Not that I know of

But Sandy Mission 1-3 is still eaisier then Bastok 1-3.

I tried to do the damn Quadav thing. Spent two days and got nothing, so I gave up and bought them.

Another time, I help my friend with "Save the children" at the same level.. it was a joke.

I'm on Asura too, they don't cost too much. I seen the individual pieces going for 300-500 gil. A stack of fire crystals should get you all four pieces

Getting to the mines

How do you get to the mines? I've been trying to go through Gustaberg, but I can't find any way to get there. Anyone know how to easily get there?
ouch

uh yeah be careful on the second floor i was level 17 warrior messing around up there got to the veteran quadav's and they were takeing away half my life so after i kill one i sit down to heal heal a little bit than an onyx quadav attacks me from behind so i run and then next thing i now i got a train of quadev's a very big train, but thats ok im out running them untill i make a wrong turn and have to turn around and cut back past them thats when it got hairy i think i got through like 12 of the 20 quadev train then i bit the dust. So be careful on the second floor.
no trouble here
# Apr 12 2004 at 10:55 AM Rating: Decent
Yeah, Lv. 12 thief here; I had no trouble taking on 2-3 Quads at a time (I have pretty good equipment, though) solo. I got the parts in under 2 hours, and got a lot of really good drops in the process.

I still haven't figured out how to advance to the next mission, though.

any time you get stuck getting the next mission, just donate crystals to the guards who cast signet on you regardless of alliegance.

Level 20 or higher?
# Mar 23 2004 at 1:37 PM Rating: Decent
I don't know what classes or equipment you are using, but at level 10 MNK/THF with all bastok equipment, including knuckles, I can go through the rooms one the first floor that contain 6 Quadavs, fight them all at once, and come out of it with 90 HP left. At level 8 THF/MNK with all Leather gear, brass dagger, self bow and 2 stacks of arrows, I can take kill about four quad's before needing to rest. All you need to finish this quest is a little patience. Another thing to remember, throw away all dropped items but shell shields, backplates and the scrolls. If you wait till your inventory is full you can usually return with one or two stacks of water crystals, two or three scrolls of sneak (they sell at stores for 450+), four or five shell shields (they sell at stores for 100+), two or three backplates (they sell at stores for 160+) and two or three scrolls of paralyza (they sell at stores for 50+). It may take a while to get all four fetich parts, but the gil you get from killing the quads and the drops is well worth it. I usually make about 2-3k a trip to the mines, over a course of about 1 to 1 1/2 hours.

Of course if you stop and AH the Quadav Backplates you might be able to 1,000 gil each for it.

drops
# Mar 23 2004 at 12:56 PM Rating: Decent
Fetich armor drops like candy off of the Brass, copper and old Quadavs in the back of the mine. I was in a group with 2 others (20+ level) and we each had two or three pieces each in about an hour.
RE: drops
# Jul 24 2005 at 12:05 AM Rating: Decent
You are right I was lvl 24 RDM/THF (solo) got all the parts from the brass, copper, and old Quadavs while trying to get my Key for the Airship pass quest. Had no problem killing anything. I got all 4 parts before I got my Key. The 2nd and 3rd levels are the best place to get these drops. Have a high lvl friend help you with it it will take no time at all. If you are on ODIN server and I am in the area send me a tell I will help you out.

I have all four Fetich parts. Yet when I talk to Cleade's he say's I can only be on one mission at a time. I click /trade and tried clicking on him. I would ask a GM but I don't know if the problem is me or the game.
question

I am from Windurst and I am rank 4. I have all 4 of these items. Can I still trade them to the NPC for gill?

# Jan 01 2004 at 1:14 PM Rating: Decent
I know this has prob been said before, but i'd like to point out you can buy these in AH. They are under beastmade, and usually sell for 200 each. How I did the quest after i took 1-2 hours and only got 1 peice. (but saw 2 drop)
other realms
# Dec 21 2003 at 2:14 AM Rating: Default
Is it possible to do this mission even if U're from one of the other realms ?
RE: other realms
# Sep 09 2004 at 4:59 AM Rating: Decent
no, missions are citizenship exclusive, you can do quests, but plot devices like missions can only be accepted by people of that country. Just like a Bastokan can't go to windurst for "The Horutoto Ruins Experiment"

This mission does not give you the title of Legionnaire. The quest given by Evi in the Port District (Past Perfect) gives that title.
