Strange Apparatuses  

Ive done this 3 times so far with the one in the Dangruf Wadi. Acquired an Arcane Flowerpot, 2 adaman nuggets, and 6 Rune Arrows.

Ive also noticed that after every try the text the the machine says becomes more unscrambled and filled in. I can amlost read all of it.

Ok I feel this quest blows. Went to CN last night bought 4 cores(9k) and 4 blue chips(21k). I waited til watersday and its was a new moon as well.

Trade 1: Water cluster
Trade 2: Water cluster
Trade 3: Water cluster
Trade 4: Water cluster

What a joke. I basically spent 30k per cluster. Its much easier to farm then give away your money for this crap.

I've heard the sounds of the Stranger aparatus in Oldton Mov. a lot, does anyone know the position and element of this one? or am i just hearing echos from gusgen mines? every time i ask people in the area when it sounds they only speak japanese so i haven't had any luck finding it myself.

First time i did this last night in ordelles took two green chips
and two infinity cores. Waited for windsday took about an hour to realize that it was behind a wall.
So I walk up trade the first get 6 rune arrows I was a bit pissed off and thinking not to use the second set. Well I figure ***** it and trade it bam Rune Sword ask ls how much its worth one said 400k then checked it at ah 650k WOO HOO I was happy. Hope I dont become an addict. Also it was windsday about 1600 in time and a waxing moon. I am startig to think moon phase does nothing for you.

In intrest of the Wadi one...If you shold fall there is a rather large peice of concrete towards one of the only 2 exits. On top of it there is a ???.. Now not having the forsight to attempt a trade to it im not sure of its naure however It might lend to reveal the "Doctor" password as there is no mention of such ??? anywhere else on this topic. If there are similar ??? near the other ones I would think that there is a patern. Thanks in advanced for all that share the welth of knowledge.

*note, this is only my experinces and opinions, so take them as you will*

I have now done this quest a few times, and have had GREAT results..

Here's how it worked..

Got the chips from the Goblin under the bridge near the house of the hero in windy walls. They are 21k each. Went to jeuno and got a few infinity cores (10k on midgarsormr atm).

I started in the Maze of Shakharmi (since I knew by experince where the apperatus was there). I took 2 black chips and 2 cores with me. It was Iceday, with a new moon (don't know the exact percentage) at about 1600 hrs on 5/5/965. My friend and I got the following:
Cerment Chunks x8 -> Me
Adaman Nuggets x2 -> Me
Adaman Nuggets x2 -> My friend
Rune Arrows x6 -> My friend

Next, after waiting a while for more infinity cores to come to sale, I headed out to Gusgen to find that apparatus. My friend traded one yellow chip and one core to the machine and only got an earth cluster.. :( [didn't write down the date/time/moon cycle of my friends try.]

A few more hours later, I went back to Gusgen to try it myself. It was windsday (or EARLY iceday, but I'm almost sure it was windsday), late in the day, and the moon was waxing (about 19% give or take) on 5/12/965.. I traded my yellow chip and a core and got: cerment chunk x8.

With one infinity core left, I decided to go to Dangruf Wadi and see what thier was to see. (If you try this point, keep in mind there is a huge hole infront of the door to the apperatus; probably won't cause you more than lost time if you drop in it, but I just wanted to let ya know) It was Iceday, about 0900 hrs, with again a waxing moon (give or take 19%). I traded a red chip and got: AN ARCANE FLOWERPOT!!!! {/cheer}

I have the chips to do try out Outer Horutoro Ruins as well as Ordelle's Cave, but I haven't yet got an the infinity cores I need for those places yet. When I get them, I will post what I get here as well.

IMPORTANT NOTES: I DO NOT have any passwords to these things.. you do not NEED them for this quest to work, but I have a theory that if you have a working password, you maybe able to get better items or perhaps even choose what you will get. (This is not confirmed, but only IMO.) But you DO NOT NEED A PASSWORD FOR THIS TO WORK!

NEXT, if you find the strange apparatus and you are unsure which chip to trade to it, look high above the computer screen(?).. there will be a glowing color on the top of the machine and that color indicates which chip to trade to the machine. (Again, I have not seen ALL the machines, but the above has held true in to the machines I have seen.)

ALSO, you do not need to talk to ANYONE to do this quest! I do not know if it gives you fame anywhere or not, but I assume not.

Finally, you will only get one item (or set of items, in the case of the cerment chunks/adaman nuggets/rune arrows) per chip/core trade.

BTW, it is worth mentioning that the directions SO FAR to find the strange apparatus have been right on, and I will post if any changes are needed when I find them.

IN SIMPLE TERMS: This is what you do..
Buy a chip from the goblin and buy an infinity core.
Go to the zone with the machine in it and find the machine.
Trade the chip and the infinity core to the machine.
Let the machine do its thing (sorry, don't have any screen shots of it but will take some my next try).
Recieve your item.
Go along your merry way!

REMEMBER: Trade the proper chip to the proper machine or you will die! (I've not had a problem with this, but I believe those who have posted before me and don't have any desires to confirm it..lol)

So... who do you get the quest from? Or do you simply buy the chips from gobbies and trade them to theses thing? Everything is very unclear about that....

i like pancakes... far to much :x anyway... I'd like to know the password for it.. it may change... but w/e... my friend uses a password that works for him... it's 'Moch Five'... the password doesn't work for me.. but he gets a menu when he types it in.. it gives him 3 choices... 1 is duplicate, 2 is make an item, and I can't remember what 3 is... but when he chooses 2 he gets a random item... he's gotten a scorpions harness and some other harness ( that sells for 50k )(and is around lv 60 for rdm / drk or something ) :/ I'm not sure if it's a pack of lies or not... but he has the items... and he sits by the strange apparatus every firesday x_x I think the password may be dependent on how long you try, or when or.. something completely random, but the password works for him... o_0 <|help me out!|> <|please|> I wana know more about this machine... it makes me wana kill stuffz xD (ps) (when you find this info pacent / boo, you're gunna bite me :O ...hard! ) ^^; -chii/sora


o yes, and for the record, when I did a red chip and infinity core at once to the machine in dengruf wadi... I got 6 rune arrows... so yes... I think it's slightly random >_< (I'll prolly update more when I can speak to my nooby friends with no lives >_<... they just sit and talk to the damn machine all day.)

have not yet done this but from the post i see u can get the same drops from all the areas. But just to let u know i may be wrong and when i get my thf finished leveled to 50 (i hope about a week or 2) i should get the money from my ores in MH i will test the ordels cave one for flower pot. (FYI I am a bad speller but get the point across lol)

FYI, the password stated as a possibility did not work for Maze of Shakrami on Valefor server.

Ok what do I trade the chip and core to?

Hmmm. Is this really a quest?

/sigh i have done this twice both in the Ordel Caves. First time i got a Arcane pot which i was so psyched about. the second time though i got a Wind cluster >.<. Ticked me off so much.
