SummaryFind a pair of old gauntlets in a treasure coffer in Castle Zvahl Baileys, then defeat a notorious monster to repair the gauntlets and claim your artifact hands. WalkthroughNote: You must have completed Painful Memory - BRD AF1 and activated The Requiem - BRD AF2 to obtain this quest. To start this quest, first speak with Guslam at H-8 of Upper Jeuno. The galka will tell you about a pair of old gauntlets seen in Castle Zvahl Baileys that might have once belonged to the legendary Borghertz. Go to Castle Zvahl Baileys and obtain a Zvahl Coffer Key. The following monsters drop coffer keys: Ahriman, Doom Demon, Arch Demon, Blood Demon and Abyssal Demon. Next, find a coffer. All eight spawn points where coffers can appear are located on the third map. The spawn points are at J-10, F-10, F-6, J-6, G-8 and H-8. Trade your key to the coffer to receive the key item Old Gauntlets. You do not have to be a bard when you open this coffer. After receiving the old gauntlets, return to Guslam, who says the gauntlets are the work of Borghertz -- but that he cannot repair them. Head down to the Tenshodo shop in Lower Jeuno, where Yin Pocanakhu talks about a toolbox that won't open. Pay her 1,000 gil, and she says the toolbox is on top of a crate in Port Jeuno, in the auction house area. Find the toolbox and examine it, and the ghost of Borghertz appears. He asks you to bring him some shadow flames from Castle Zvahl. Return to Castle Zvahl Baileys and examine the torch at F-8. A notorious monster bomb by name of Dark Spark will appear. Defeat Darkspark and examine the torch again to get the key item Shadow Flames. Once you have the flames, return to Jeuno and examine the toolbox again. The ghost of Borghertz reappears, and he uses the flames to repair the old gauntlets. He then gives you your Choral Cuffs. Quest SeriesThis quest is part of the Bard artifact armor series. Heck, even when you hunt for your coffer key for you AF -hands- you can open the coffer with ANY job! Someone told me this and I didn't believe him... but since the coffer key dropped quickly, I traded it to the coffer to give it a try and voila! I got "some old gauntlets"! I know that was kinda off topic :P but when I saw that I was really happy and amazed! Easier to open a coffer with a 75 job than a 50ish job :P

Yea, it sounds stupid and all, but it wasnt posted anywhere. Plus, it made my day (woo).
please post if you know what i'm doing wrong.
i don't want to waste coffer keys to get whm af that i'm not going to use. thanx for any help you might beable give.
If you started the Boghertz(sp) quest as another job and never finished it, and now you're ready to start it as another job, Guslam will NOT give you the 2nd job's quest until you finish the first.
Learned that the hard way.

I got my coffer on 2nd room I checked :D Then a demon started casting Burst so I felt it was a good idea to warp out.
I thought I would get a head start on this quest and so I'd be prepared when it came time to equip the cuffs, but looks like I'll be level 65 before the darn key drops.
all the coffer spawns are alone and separate, and it takes about 5 minutes to walk between them. the only place where you can check for more than 1 coffer at a time, you still cant get to 3 of the 4 without walking for another 5 minutes.
lol If you go outside, there is sunshine and lots of people and fun things to do!

You need to be Level 50 and have completed AF1 to start AF2 quest. You do not need to complete AF2 quest to receive this one.
