Duo'd with 75SMN 72BLM(needed the fight) all you need for the Gremlins is a 75SMN, kill the mage weapon first, takes like 1 Eclipse Bite and a little melee from Fenrir, then take out the melee weapon. i could've killed this when the BLM was in the CS lol

As for the Manticore, wasn't that much harder, for a 75SMN just carby kite it a few casts then send fenrir after it at about 3/4 life or less.

Easy Peasy

Did this w/ a 58 SMN and a 65 SMN. Yes Duo'd it.

Gremlins

Did pretty usual buffs, Earthen Ward, Aeriel Armor, Medalink(SMN 65) reraised, pro and shell'd, and we went in.
These bad boys link on 2nd attack. We did not know this, so regretfully we tried to carby pull one back. we ended up both kiting them for awhile(him with fenrir for eclipse bite, and me with titan because of obvious reasons.) until I couldn't recast Titan so, I died. Medalink finished the first weapon bith a third eclipse bite, and began for the next one with low MP, hardly any buffs, and a half eaten fenrir. Fortunatly enough, Medalink died at the entrance of the BC, so he reraised, and solo'd the last gremlin. Part one complete! hazaa!

Ogimos

Alot easier then the gremlins. We both summoned fenrir, he for Eclipse Bite, while I did lunar cry, and switching to various avatars for debuffing. Took 28/30 minutes, so careful what you do with this guy. Deadly Hold always oneshotted out avatars, but I've seen people survive it.

The only things you really have to take into account are his speed(Use tailwhip with leviathan to gravity his ******* His Deadly Hold move(which I think goes through Shadows),he has A LOT of HP, and he has some nasty -GA moves. His silencga has a big area of cast, so stay far away, or have echo drops. Dispelga is a rough too, but it never hit me, and our avatar's only had Ecliptic Howl's ACC and EVA buffs on.

Well I just finished this today, thought I'd share my experience:

First set of NMs, the 2 Weapons. Duoed with a 75NIN and myself on 75 RDM, NIN tanked Lightning Gremlin (non caster), while I grav-kited Thunder Gremlin (RDM type). Once L. Gremlin was dead we took down T. Gremin pretty fast.

As for the Manticore, he was pretty simple too, again duoed. Brought along echo drops, I stood out of range and debuffed, recasted buffs on the nin when dispelga hit him, and cured when stuff went thru shadows. Pretty clean fight, with nin alone doing dmg took about 8 minutes.

Party. I'm not positive on all the lvls. its safe to say we were all 60+.

Brd60/30whm (me)
Blm65/32whm
Rdm60/blm30
Smn60/whm30 (The smn in need)
Pld72/war36
Rng73/war36

The Gremlins.

You cannot sleep these. Don't try. That was our origonal plan. Even resisted ES sleep. I died first by the one who I was attempting to sleep, then the smn died, not sure how. The rest of them ran after a bit of hesitation. The PLD and the Blm made it out alive. The Gremlin's Aoe was a pain.

Second time we actually had a resonable strategy after some pep talk. Stick the avatar on one, pld takes the other. The avatar got torn up. We were experiencing a repeat here, but then someone killed off one of them somehow (I believe it was the blm). So we took on the second one. The rng and, I think the smn, died. someone raised the smn. I cast minuet, then realized ballad would help more. We won, but it was close.

Ogmios.

We did this first try. Went up after buffing. It cast dispelga, Silencega, some line targetting fire breath, and a twister attack. First thing it did was dispelga. It spammed silencega ever minute. This is a shinning moment for all bards... resist silence actually kicked in the first 3 times he cast silencega. so i took advantage and silena'd who i could. lol, the poor rdm was silenced the whole fight though. it was looking scarce, but all the mages decided to back off out of range or silencega, and we just cured the PLD. Blm did his nuking. after getting into this stable position. we ended up getting leverage and won.

Two tough fights. Fun 2-3 hours. Despite most of us dying like 3 times, it was a blast.
duo win

OH and I let fenir tank it :), WOOT WOOT go purple doggy

just did this first part with the 2 weapons with me and my brd friend. But I'm pretty sure a smn would have worked just as well. Or a bst. Or readlly actually any job. Most of the work goes into 2 categories.
First: I went as 75rdm/nin. Gear may have helped a bit, but honestly, these things are really easy to fight. Slow, Paralyze, Silence, Blind, then Stoneskin Phalanx, Haste and Refresh. Of the 2 gremlins, the Lightning Gremlin is by far the longer kill, so I bio II'd it to draw hate, then (and this is why almost any job works) I simply cast gravity on the thunder Gremlin while the brd cast Foe Requiem VI to take hate, and just kited it back and forth. I think I got hit with maybe one smite ofrage for 240, but aside from that I went mostly undamaged. Threw in a few Stone IIIs when it got low, because after 3 gravities, it gets hard for the other to keep hate.

Second Crucial thing. Make sure the person doing the kiting can actually stay alive. I'm assuming this is a given. Brd/whm worked great, because of ballads and self curing. Summoner would work with Carby Kiting.

Anyways, once the first weapon goes down, the second is a joke. Killed first, did a quick convert, healed the bard to take hate, and then used a Savage blade which took about a tenth of its life. The rest was simple. Silence it or not, it'll hit you with spells but stoneskin absorbed most. Short second fight, easy win.

Just did this, wasn't that bad..!

For the first battle (Cloister of Stroms) I had:
75nin
68 Drg
65 blm
59 smn (me)

The battle went really smoothly no one was close to dieing..

The 2nd battle (Cloister of Gales): I had:
75nin
68 Drg
65 blm
59 smn (me)
68 sam

This battle was little more annoying, since he spams Silencega... alot! I only used 3 echo drops, but his silencega didn't always hit me... The battle wasn't to bad... He can do some damage if Utsusemi wasn't up... But battle wasn't that bad. But make sure you have echooo drops!!

After we fought Ogimos we fought Garuda with teh same party minus the dragoon, and took her down pretty easy too :P

Just did this for a lvl 59smn. I am a 75/37 nin/war... this thing was too easy (least the manticore was). It rarely took any shadows and missed about 90% of the time. The breath was the only thing that did any damage at all and one stack of echo drops each was enough for both of us. any nin 75 can take this out with ease as long as the smn heals them when they get hit with breath.

I'm so glad I read this because I was on the verge of slapping Ripapa silly myself. I couldn't figure out why I couldn't get the pendulum. Thanks for the info as to why I couldn't. Guess I'll be heading myself back to windy now. >.<

Yes, yes you DO!!! need to talk to Koru-Moru. I'm standing in front of Ripapa slapping him incessantly, and myself, for talking about Ramuh, when I was hoping to get the pendulum.

/sigh Back to Windy, and back here again... >.<

I duo'ed this fight with another SMN, she was 62, I was 69, and we won pretty flawlessly. If you have a coordinated party 60+ it's not too tough, we basically just beat him with IV magic and Eclipse Bite, then used Carbuncle to finish him off near the end.

we did all this with:
73pld/war
70whm/blm
61brd/whm(me)
70blm/whm
60rdm/whm
60drk/war(29war, GIMP!)
60drk/war

Firstly first, try House of the Hero in windurst, can't remember if you have to to talk to it or not. Secondly second, Koru-Moru as usual. After that Ripapa in Mhaura for the scene and pendulum. Then off to the cloister. Once there, make sure to remind your party to not enter until they have the BC status...very important....the two drks ended up staring at Ramuh Prime instead of the right ones >.> After you enter, two weapon NMs are there, Thunder Gremlin and Lightning Gremlin....name would imply to barthundera. I'm off the impression they can't be slept >.> I tried, granted I'm low-ish for the fight. The blm did elemental seal sleep II, sleepga II, etc etc...nothing. SO plan on tanking both. They weren't hard, seemed to have some endurance tho~ >.>. After that, go back to Koru-Moru or whoever the principal is in windurst.

After that, Agadu-puagado or whatever in Rabao. Here, tell your melee to bring sneak and invis pots. Because, to our pld, the mobs on the way were Very Tough(73pld remember, and at least the Greater Manticores were.) It's a PAIN to sneak/invis an alliance past all that, even with 1mage-1melee pairs setup. Near the end, there's Greater Manticores very tightly nit together, and Sand Cockatrices in between, all sight aggro. Don't need sneak for that part at least, only the Raptors aggro by sound. Once inside, do what you do every time, and everyone go in. Cutscene, tnen you fight a Manticore, I think his name was Ogmlos or something...I only barely remember due to the OMG jokes. Here your mages should stay far back, he uses a Silence AOE that has a huge range. You should be just inside cast range.....much closer and you get hit. Silena potions would be helful precaution. All in all, with that setup, getting to them was much harder than fighting them. When you're through, go back to Koru-Moru and you be done mon. Hope this helps XD

Oh, just to say, you must accept the quests as SMN, but you can do the BCs as any job, I did them as BRD. I accepted them all as SMN, finished them all as BRD.

Two full sets of AF done = too much time on hands ._.

You don't have to BE SMN while you're doin' it... so long as you have SMN job and have started the quest to get the AF piece you can use any job in your ******* to complete the fights.

Most likely some of the people in that alliance were using higher lvl jobs to get the piece for their lower lvl SMN.

I haven't done this yet, but I do know enough to fill in some of the missing pieces here.

At the protocrystal in the Cloister of Storms, you will fight two NM weapons. Again, not sure of their difficulty, but I hear a PT of lvl 60s can take it down, with a tank and WHM occupying one, and the rest taking care of the other first.

After this, I believe you are given a Wind Pendulum - if not from a cutscene here, then probably from the taru in Rabao. Proceed to the Coister of Gales, where you must fight an NM Manticore. He has an AoE dispel and silence, so make sure the mages bring echo drops. Supposedly, he does not hit very hard, but has loads of hp.

Hope this helps, and please post if you know any more details ^o^
