WalkthroughSwitchstix in Castle Zvahl Baileys can upgrade degraded weapons if you bring him the things he wants. The first upgrade will require:
Fee: Lungo-Nango Jadeshell x5 The Relic Scythe is a drop from Dynamis - Bastok. The Mammoth Tusk is crafted (Bonecraft 94) from a Giant Frozen Head which is dropped in Dynamis - San d'Oria and Dynamis - Beaucedine. The Manticore Leather and Rainbow Obi can be crafted or bought at the Auction House. Trade all four items and payment in Jadeshells to Switchstix and he will upgrade it to a Memento Scythe. You will need to wait one game day. The second upgrade will require:
Fee: Montiont Silverpiece x16 Trade all four items and the fee to Switchstix and he will upgrade your Memento Scythe to a Dynamis Scythe. You must wait one Earth week. The third upgrade will require: Fee: One Hundred Byne Bill x62 The Attestation of Vigor drops from the notorious monster Velosareon in Dynamis - Beaucedine. Trade these two items and the fee to Switchstix and he will upgrade your Dynamis Scythe to the Bec de Faucon. The Bec de Faucon will allow you to use the special weapon skill Catastrophe, but only in Dynamis areas. The fourth upgrade will require:
Fee: Rimilala Stripeshell x1 The Tenebrous Fragment drops from the Animated Scythe in Dynamis - Xarcabard. Trade the Bec de Faucon, the fragment, the Necropsyche, and the currency to the blank space at (F-7) in North Gustaberg (accessible only by traveling through Dangruf Wadi) to receive a cutscene, your Apocalypse, and 30 Lungo-Nango Jadeshells. What was the gil u need for this quest
The only thing I have to look forward to is hopefully by the time I'm high enough to start my quest for this...these items will have dropped in price. But giving the past knowledge of uber items and price in this game...it just doesnt look good :/
Ok I just finish this to the third part at least and yea it does cost about 20 mil that currency isnt cheap and it does take alot to buy the upgrades

The Fee for the second last upgrade is 62 100 byne bills.

how the hell did you come to the conclusion that this would cost 100mil to make this thing, all these items on my server are all 5-10k each with the exception of that rainbow-obi,and the silver pieces are around 20k I think, but in no way would this thing cost over 1mill gil
Ok, since you all decided that spouting off like ignorant fools was the best, allow me to correct you. Yes INDEED this upgrade will cost you ~20 mil or so.
Why?
Sure the minor upgrade items are decently cheap...but you see that little L. Jadeshell business? That's the ancient currency you will need to pay off the Goblin. Same witht he M. Silverpieces... Now I'm sure by now you have all seen poeple running around with 1 Byne Bills or T. Whiteshells in their bazaars right? And what is their selling price? 6-10k i would guess. Well ONE L. Jadeshell = 100 T. Whiteshells. So EACH piece of ancient currency will run you ~700k-1mill. Now granted the large forms of the currency CAN drop...just VERY VERY VERY VERY rarely. Did i mention its rare? So you're stuck having to buy the large currency from a bazaar or trading in 100 of the lesser versions to a gobby.
And thats just upgrade 1 and upgrade 2. It is already rumored that upgrade 3 has a VERY VERY large currency cost not listed here (as very very few people have reached this part). But that's not the worst part. The Worst part is to get the "Attestation..." you need to kill a shadow NM in Dynamis-Beaudicine. OK...except the NM is NOT along the path you need to take to "win" the zone. Meaning either your Dynamis LS will hopefully host a few runs for people to get their attestations... OR YOU WILL. That's right! you will most likely have to shell out 1 mill for a sponsered run to get your own attestation...and then you have to hope it drops.

Special Shadow mobs in Dynamis Beaucedine are known to drop some of the the 'Attestation' items. It's probably a hideously rare drop and knowing what I do about Dynamis mobs, Dimensional Death is probably the least of their abilities. Happy hunting.
Bah, 'bout 21 to 25 million gil for all these upgrades I'd estimate.

way to go off topic........... they said that cuz its the WS u get from this..not so u could compare stupid limit breaks from FF7.........
hmmm i remeber that limit break, barret FF7 his limit break lev 4. it kicked ***, that sythe got a reputation to live up to;)
