Summary

The fate of Vana'diel awaits you in the Celestial Nexus!

Walkthrough

After entering the Shrine of Ru'Avitau from H-9 in Ru'Aun Gardens, you will appear at G-12 based on this Map of Shrine of Ru'Avitau:

http://www.iespana.es/moton/ruavitau01.jpg

-Have one person go to H-10 and activate the Yellow Monolith.

-Go back to Ru'Aun Gardens and use the pincerstones and blue portals to go from I-10 (to J-9) then walk along to K-7 (and be sent to J-7) to get to I-6(have to walk down the stairs). You will enter Shrine of Ru'Avitau at K-5 of this map. Make your way to H-9 and go down the stairs -- use silent oils and prism powders to walk around without drawing agro. Follow the path to the Celestial Nexus to fight with final boss!

-Battle with Eald'narche. He has two forms. It is recommended for everyone to buy Hi-Potions, and a few Hi-Ethers wouldn't hurt either.

First portion of battle

During the first part of the fight, you must do battle with:

  • Two Orbital: has 300hp and if defeated, will regenerate quickly.
  • Exoplates: armor surrounding Eald'narche, he is invulnerable while this armor is up. Does not do melee attacks but will use offensive tp moves.
  • Eald'narche: invulnerable to attacks until Exoplates is defeated. He really likes to use ancient magic and sleepga, so be careful.

Have the melee use 2hour special to quickly dispose of the Exoplates. Sleep the Orbitals as they're not worth attacking. After the Exoplates are gone it only takes a few hits to get Eald'narche to his second form.

Part II

There is little time to rest as Eald'narche will rush to the party. He will still mainly use Ancient magic and Sleepga, and will add WS here and there. One of his WS is AoE damage(around 200ish damage) and will terrorize and bind those that are hit. Terrorize will prevent that player from doing anything for 5-10 seconds. Another AoE attack will silence those in range.

Did this twice in 2 days 2/2 on fights, was quite simple.
Main reason for no problem win was all go /nin if they can..
Getting there is simple, and close if you ensure first that yellow door is open.
You can check this by the zone at despot, as there is a monolith a little way in.

Party set up was sam/nin, drk/nin, rdm/nin, smn/nin, sch/rdm (buffs), pld/nin
Fight was a joke compared to others..
Just sneed snk/vis tools/pots, and echo drops as you may get silenced on second form.

First form, rdm sleeps orbs, pld gets hate on kid with usual hate tools/flash, and dd hit exoplate. When down destroy kid in 1 ws.
You get 20seconds of breathing space before he attacks in second form..We didnt even use any 2hrs, just zerged it..
I cant stress enough how much easier this was with shadows..
Good luck^^

DRG (me),RDM,BLM,NIN,SAM,RNG. The rng was going to come Sam but decided to go ranger out of convenience of staying in sky, plus we felt like we had enough DD.

The plan was this: Mages sleep orbitals and run off. Melee unloads on the plates. Ninja constantly vokes the kid. Then ninja kites the kid after plates are gone and mages rest up while keeping orbitals sleep in between. Then kill off kid and enter a slaughter fest where melee attacks and blm am2's and rdm tries to keep tank alive.

How it actually went: Orbitals were slept and plates were attacked. Nin held hate. Plates AOE's and kid's AOE's ate shadows fairly quickly and we were slaughtering the plate, so it chimed its Phase Shift twice in a row nearly killing me as I didn't have NI (the only melee that didn't). After plates died we tried to do the resting thing but a mage got aggro from the kid and was bursted, so we skipped that and went right into the second form. AM2 did a good amount of damage and the SAM's 2hour really helped out. Rdm died from the burst but we still won. The second form was over before we got organized again.

We did one run before that but didn't pop off poison pots yet and he sleepga'd us off the bat. Another lesson we learned was that sleepga on the orbitals is a bad idea...which also hits the KID and gives the blm hate. We were sleeping while the kid went off to kill the mages. We still killed the plates but couldn't finish off the kid. Don't bother RR'ing unless everyone else is up and healthy. DO NOT RR if you are the one that can cast raise. The one that was supposed to raise us RR'd before entering the battle and all buffs (but food) were cleared, so we were
Where's the fight guide??

LOL! Everyone is complaining about walking through Sky. Ok, I got it, it's easy if you fight gods everyday, and tough if you don't go often, magic aggro, so use oil/powder, etc etc...

But, where is the fight guide? This is supposed to be the last fight in the ZM series, so I am assuming it will be the toughest.

Where are all the discussions of parties wiping, rdm/nin soloing, etc? Has anyone done this fight?

***EDIT****
I found the fight guide, listed under ZM17, and it doesnt even list the final cutscenes to finish ZM...

If you really need a good walkthrough, check http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/Zilart_Mission_16

Cross Posting this as most of the posts in here are garbage and didn't help me in preparation for this fight:

Lessons Learned:

While the Exoplates are still up, tanks should be generating hate on Eald'narche directly. I made the mistake of voking and flashing the Exoplates and hate wasn't established in the beginning of the fight.

Shadows/Blink is definitely preferred. PLD and DD should /nin. He used Flood and Flare alot (1st Form). This does not mean that PLD/WAR will not work; you are just going to have to suck up the 800HP+ hits. He also used Tornado and Burst.

After the Exoplates are gone, it doesn't take much to kill him to trigger the second form. If you wait until he is low on life to kite, you will probably finish him off by accident.

Having somone remain in the CS before the second form gives everyone else time to regen a little HP/MP. He doesn't appear immediately when somone is in the CS, however it seems he didn't stay gone for long and he will engage you when he appears.
Side Note: If your mages have some sort of Auto Refresh, it continues to tick while in the CS.

During the second form, hate is spread among all members (I think it resets with every warp - he warps around as much as TT if not more).

Use Poison Potions for the entire duration of the fight. He caught us off guard with a Sleepga very early in the first form.

Our PT setup was PLD/WAR, SAM/NIN, RNG/NIN, BLM/WHM, RDM/WHM?, WHM/BLM.

That's all I can think of at the moment. Hope this helps~!

Everytime I visit this site I feel like my intelligence is being insulted. Not only do you guys try to lecture 75s on how to get through sky but you also have the audacity to explain how elemental switches work?

Please, do me a favor and visit sky for triggers once a week for months on end, kill a few gods, and then kill kirin once a week for a few months and try to explain to me how to navigate sky. I'll smack you right where you stand.

AND ANOTHER THING:
IT'S NOT RU'AVITAU GARDENS!

If you don't know what you're talking about. Don't write a guide about it.

So what you're saying is that I must do sky activities for months on end before I can do RoZ? That's a stupid idea, killing Kirin has nothing to do with beating the last RoZ mission.

MWAHAHAHA DigitalisAkujin, you masterfully told that guy off! How dare he misname a video game area? Such a person obviously isn't even fit to have children! Your brilliant use of caps lock put that guy in his place.

But he did know what he was talking about, and so he wrote the guide. It was a good guide, it was a guide so that ANYONE who had access could find his/her way.

GTFO of here geek, some of us have lives and don't spend our life getting every detail to a video game memorized.

Your intelligence has been shown through your post. If you have nothing helpful to say, gtfo. These forums are used as a guid. If you see an error, offer the correction. Not everybody has the same game experience as you. So you know a few paths to certain things? Big deal. Reading posts like yours are what causes peoples' intelligence to go down. Btw, with the time it took for you to write that post, you could have been working on cop missions or rank. Mr. Ubster, why aren't you rank 10 in every city, have lvl 75 on all jobs and finished every single quest in the game? By your standards, you sir are still a noob!

Sadok

-----Edit------

P.s. This was directed at DigitalisAkujin and to the others like him! Writing on a balckberry on the way home so I didn't know I was replying to the wrong person.

Not everyone does these things. Plenty of people don't really do anything in Sky once they have access and haven't learned how to navigate Ru'Aun Gardens, that the statues in the blue alcoves aggro, that everything in Sky but the Flamingos aggros magic.

I fail to see anything wrong with giving a few simple precautions. Not everyone wants to kill triggers, Kirin and HNM ls drama - or arrogant jerks like you.
A little vague? Try this
# Jan 23 2006 at 11:04 PM Rating: Decent
ok yeah fo' reals those directions up there are more than a little vague. OK.. the reason they mention the yellow pincerstone is because someone needs to stay behind at the first location from H10 to activate it on demand from the other party members. Everyone else then exits the H9 door into the Gardens. You then go to Genbu island and go down the middle stairs just like if you were going to the Genbu teleporter to his little island. Turn around and go into the Shrine from the door that is down there near the bushes under the stairway. Once inside, turn right and follow the tunnel west to the yellow door. If it is closed you tell the party member who stayed behind to open it. Once open, go on through and find a safe camp where you can use the yellow lightswitch from inside there to let in the remaining party member if needed. From there go through the golem area to the obvious stairway that will remind you a LOT of Delkfutts Tower way back when. Go all the way down the stairway and run or Flee away if you have to and hit the zone into Ealds little romper room The Celestial Nexus. Get fully ready and enter the BCNM and once thru make sure everyone is there in the arena before you aggro Eald.

Some tips on Eald - kill the exoplates fast. The exoplates will surprise you with a OWNAGE AoE attack so whm be wary of that (Curaga)(please have reraise on). Take care of the little detector type mobs as you see fit. Most people have BLM sleepga them then go crazy with attack on the exoplates. Make sure BLM doesnt die when mobs wake up. Tank plz use some kind of reraise item in case things go wrong. Bringing a elixir never hurt anyone either. Once exoplates go down he will almost instantly sleepga everyone so if possible have whm Barsleep everyone before plates go down. If everyone survives his first form ok you should be in the clear.

The reason for the Oils/Powders is because both weapons and golems aggro to Magic as well.
