Summary

Use the Ark Pentasphere at the La'Loff Amphitheater to confront and defeat all five Crystal Warriors simultaneously.

Walkthrough

You may either fight each Ark Angel individually or fight them all at once (which is this mission) to complete ZM14.

Talk to NPC Yve'noile in The Shrine of Ru'Avitau. Follow these steps to get into the BC for Divine Might.

1. See an event by examining an unmarked target in the main entrance of The Shrine of Ru'Avitau.

2. Obtain an Ark Pentasphere by trading Illuminink (drop from Cursed Puppet) and Parchment to the fountain in Ro'Maeve (note: Full Moon, 0:00-3:00, and clear weather)

3. Go to La'Loff Amphitheater (any entrance) and use ;Ark Pentasphere to confront and defeat all 5 Ark Angels (AA) simultaneously. 18 people are allowed into this fight.

4. After defeating the AAs, return to the unmarked target to receive your earring.

Warning: You can only collect ONE earring.

~~~~~~~~~~Strategy~~~~~~~~~~
AAs and their specials
1. Ark Angel TT (DRK/BLM)
Amon-Drive - area damage + Paralyze + Petrify
Manafont
Bloodweapon
Note: attacks in this order Magic -> WS -> teleport
2. Ark Angel MR (BST/THF)
Havoc-Spiral : area damage + Gravity + Sleep
Perfect Dodge
Charm
Resist-Gravity
Note: Does Perfect Dodge at low HP; can be gravitied, high evasion.
3. Ark Angel GK (SAM/DRG)
Jump : ranged damage + Bind + Blind
Call Wyvern
Meikyo Shisui
Note: Wyvern sleepable, 2hr blinkable.
4. Ark Angel EV (PLD/WHM)
Dominion-Slash : area damage + Silence
Shield Strike : Stun + hate reset
Resist sleep
Invincible
Benediction
Note: Uses Spirits Within. Can be bound/gravitied, do not fight directly.
5. Ark Angel HM (WAR/NIN)
Cross-Reaver : area damage + Stun
Double attack
Resist Bind
Mighty Strikes
Mijin Gakure
Note: At 50% HP or less, tends to use Mijin Gakure.
Order
1. PLD goes to center and gets aggro from all AAs, then taunts TT, everyone kill him.
(a) THF taunts MR runs to Shimmering Circle, RDM sleeps her pet, accompanies THF and they kite.
(b) 2 Blink tanks taunt GK and run to staircase, WHM + BRD accompany them. Fight it there. BRD sleeps GK's Wyvern. Mages stay on top of the staircase inside the corridor.
(c) PLD taunts HM and runs clockwise around the center, RDM accompanies.
(d) NIN taunts EV and runs counterclockwise around center, RDM accompanies.
2. Group runs to shimmering and teams up with THF to kill MR (ignore pet). Person who becomes charmed to be slept immediately.
3. Group runs to staircase and teams up with the blinkers and kills GK (ignore pet).
4. Kill MR's pet, then GK's Wyvern.
5. NIN brings EV near staircase, mages bind/gravity her, BLMs and RNGs use 2hr and kill her with magic and ranged attack.
6. Cast Bar-fire/Fire Carol. Fight HM in the center, but when he is at 50% or lower HP all melee disengage him and run to staircase. All non-runners remain on foot of staircase. PLD continue to kite him in the middle of the ring such that the ones standing on the stairs can cast magic/shoot arrows. PLDs use Invincible when he uses Mighty Strikes. In the event that Mijin Gakure is used, only the runner should be killed. In such an event, one of the remaining runners (preferably PLD) must take over the kiting. In the event more than just a runner is killed, order of priority in raising should be runner, RDM, RNG, BLM, others.
Notes: It's recommended the MR Runner drink a poison potion. You can charge up TP on M14 Ark Angel TT and escape, since it carries over into Divine Might.
Scratch that...stun doen't work on elvaan and hume. I think it does on the others. Best plan, manaburn it like the guy below did with all the BLM reraising. 14 blm can kill these with 2 casts. The AA's will use their 2 hour the first time you die...you will die probably so expect one death at least once. Reraise, buff up and then nail them the second time with a TIMED (VERY important that you TIME this together) thundaga III then Blizzaga III. That should do it. Have a RDM or two chainspell thunder III the elvaan and hume after you reraise. That helps alot. GL.
did this today with 14blms, 2whm, 1 rdm and 1 pld...we did about 4 mins of prep work before we started...finished one minute later...14x thundaga3 and then 14x blizzaga3 did the trick while rdm chainspelled the galka and whms did benediction...pld was just along for the ride..tried a few days earlier with only 11blm and it just wasn't enough...but 14blms is almost automatic...2 poeple died in the 1 min it lasted...unfortunately i was one of them ; ;
Haha, hey Transam. Yeah, this fight was so close, we almost lost. It was 16 blm and 2 smn, but we dropped 1 smn for a blm. Then 1 blm d/c after everyone died the first round. After we reraised, we all renuked. Everyone on our side was dropping like flies, but everyone on the AA side dide except the EV. The only person left on our side was the taru smn, he did a leviathan move and killed the EV :D
Joy for all
lol 17 thundergra III's? man I want some of that.
How about 18 smn's all use tidal wave at the same time?
The avatars can stay out and keep tanking then throw out a 2nd and third astral flow to keep things lively.
One hell of a fun time to go on these things things I bet.
But 17 -ga 3 spells... man I want to see that!
Does the elf do benediction if you guys nuked that fast?
If everybody would have listened and got in range and casted at the exact time... I do not beleive the elf would have 2 houred...
But because we had issues with some blm's the elf used both 2hours (giving around 7k HP to the 3 remaining AA's) after the first wave of around 10 thundaga 3's.
We all died.. used reraise... rested and waited for weakness to wear off... and tried again killing 2 instantly and the smn finished the elf off for the win.
There is NO WAY to lose this fight with this setup... If its done with people that can follow simple directions.
Easy way to beat this.
There is infact a VERY easy way to beat this BCNM fight. Smn and Black mages.
We went into this fight last night with 17 blm's and 1 smn... thundaga 3 at same time was the plan (some people messed up and where not in range)
We killed 2 AA's instantly... and the rest used 2hours and killed us...
reraised
repeated and won
I have no doubt if everybody would have done their job the first time... we would have won without needing the reraise's
17 thundaga 3's at the same time is a very pretty thing.
fun
Being a part of this fight is tremendous... watching the tanks circle in opposite directions while the mages alternate up and down, healing and nuking, is like watching a fine Swiss watch mechanism at work. One thing that we noticed in our fight was that AA-MR was broken - she didn't move. At all. She'd just sort of stand there, move two steps if somebody came close, then stand there some more. It threw our strategy off, because she wouldn't aggro, despite repeated vokes.
I just wanted to hear from someone who has actually done this, mainly. Our 65 BLM "heard from LS" (yet of course was quoting it as absolute fact) that you cannot do both ZM 14 and Divine Might, that its either one or the other. Considering this would mean that you could have an entire alliance going in to Divine Might...BUT they would all have to not have done ZM 14...this seems really fishy.
On the other hand, the CS with the Zilart woman whats-her-face made it sound like this might be true.
My guess would be you can do ZM14 and Divine Might, but in either case you have to have people in your party/alliance that did one or the other first. For example, a party of 6 people, all of which did Divine Might, could not enter the BC to fight them one at a time. Likewise, an alliance of 18 people...or 12..or whatever, all of which have completed ZM 14 one by one, would not be able to enter divine might. But as long as there is someone in the group who needs or started with one or the other, the entire group could enter.
Again, that's just my guess. Would like to hear from someone who could shed some light ^^
To complete ZM14, you need to collect the five shards dropped by the AA's. Once you get the fifth one, you're automatically put onto ZM15. (It's just like collecting the fragments for ZM5, you're on ZM6 the moment you pick up the eighth one.)
You can collect shards by two methods:
1. Beat an AA (by itself), with a party. Each has its own (identical) BC, there are five entrances to La'Loff - one for each AA. You'll get that AA's shard.
2. Beat Divine Might alliance BC (note: this is not the same as finishing the quest - to finish the quest, you have to beat the BC and then go back to the place you started the quest to go get your earring). You'll get any shards you don't already have. Meaning if you didn't have any, you'll get all five shards. If you had all five, you'll get none. If you had the shards from HM and EV already, you'd get the shards from TT, MR, and GK. And so on.
In other words ... once you beat Divine Might, if you weren't done with ZM14 before, you'll be done with it now. It's impossible to finish Divine Might and still be on ZM14.
However, it does not work in reverse. Killing the five AA's individually (which will also clear ZM14), *won't* count as clearing Divine Might.
Sounds like pure bunk to me. The quests are related but I find it very hard to believe that you would be unable to get the quest and then be barred from doing the mission. Personally, I'm on ZM14 and have the quest and that's all the proof I need. If I learn differently, then I'll report back.
One more thing. When you're getting the Ark Pentasphere...it must be 0:00-3:00 on a full moon, AND it must be CLEAR SKIES weather in Ro'Maeve. I spent a couple of hours waiting in front of the pool as 0:00-3:00 clicked off the timer while it was thundering and/or raining the whole time, completely unable to get the sphere.
I did this mission/quest tonight with my LS as well as people from a few others. It was one of the most exciting battles I've done so far. Mijin Gakure will kill anybody who's in range of it. Wiped out like 8-9 of us I think.
