Something is afoot. Travel to the Grand Duke Palace to learn details of recent events.

Walkthrough

Travel to the Grand Duke Palace to learn details of recent events. After talking to people in the palace, Pherimociel, a ducal guard, will trigger a cut scene with two other ducal guards.

Talk to, Rainhard and High Wind, the two guards guarding the Audience Chamber. No one is allowed inside. They talk of an Alchemist waiting in the Duke's house. Talk to the Alchemist and he will mumble something about Emptyness and Promyvion.

Go to a Shattered Telepoint and examine the shattered telepoint, it will give you the option to enter. You will be transported to the Hall of Transference.

Inside the Hall are two apparatuses. The one on the right does nothing when examined. The one on the left triggered a cutscene that openes the Cermet Door. You go through the door and are transported to Promyvion. There is a teleporter to send you back to the Hall of Transference. After visiting Promyvion, if you return to the Alchemist in the Duke's House, he tells you what he knows and talks about creating Anima from creatures in Promyvion.

In order to enter a different Promyvion area to the first one you entered you must have either beat the boss empty or have memory erased by returning to the left apparatus, this will allow you to have free choice of which Promyvion area you want to enter again. It is important that you do not erase your memory before you have spoken to the Alchemist in the Duke's House about creating animas otherwise you will not be able to accept his service because you have no memory of entering any Promyvion area. Once you have conversed with the Alchemist regarding animas you are free to erase your memory at your own will.

After defeating any one of the three Promyvion bosses this mission is complete and you will need to do the other two as part of the next mission.

anima

Does it matter which anima, you get from the Alchemist, that you use on which Promyvion? I have two, do not remember where I got one of them from, since I visited all three one day.
not many ppl are doing this now

Okay I have fought all 3 of the BC monsters.

Mea doesnt seem like it would be too hard with some anima. We got it down really far without anything.

Dem, we used anima right away and got lucky, the monster never used that take down attack, we never got poisoned.

Holla, .... Ive attempted Holla ... I believe like four times. Each time we get the monster to what I would say ... MAYBE 1 ranger special attack. And we couldnt keep hitting it hard enough. He is definately the hardest. Last time we fought him, our first ranger dropped in about .... 10 seconds of the battle. He litterally went from full to empty in one attack so be wary.

Anima, Anima are made from a rare / Ex drop that comes off any monster in the Promyvion. I'd suggest anyone going to attempt this mission spend a good few hours farming the Rare / Ex memories that the emptyies drop. There are three types of anima, try and get all three. Once you have your rare / ex memories, head to Ru'Lude Gardens (close to where the guard was for the cut scene for this mission), and enter the Duke's house behind the palace. There will be an alchemist standing there, trade him the rare / ex and 2000 gil (<_>) and return to pick it up the next game day.

I have also heard, that to get the maps for these areas, another .... much rarer drop off the mobs occurs and you trade it to a ??? somewhere on the 2nd level. I have yet to confirm this so if you have any information, just let me know.

Anyone on Ramuh server who wants to try these, Friday - Sunday Ill have running in the evening to attempt these. Ill be the town cryer in Jeuno

Zacosham

P.s. People who want access to the Tazanian area's have to complete all three of these Promyvion missions, expect to spend a significant amount of gil to make it there
Someone who did this mission plz give imput for an update to

There are three Promyvion that are level30 cap, Promyvion-Mea, Promyvion-Holla, and Promyvion-Dem. I have completed Mea and Dem so far, I have heard they are the easiest.

As for pt composition, two parties of 6 can pretty easily make it to the Spire. Someone with widescan (like RNG or BST, preferably RNG) is a must. BLMs are nice, and SMN really shine. NIN supports for the melee are really really good to have, too, as some of those empties hit REALLY hard.

Each Promyvion consists of four "islands" and a corresponding Spire where the BC is. Each "island" has 1-4 warp gates, guarded by an NM Memory Receptacle and 1-7 Strays. Unless you want to be really lost, have the RNG Widescan for the Memory Receptacle and sorta lead the way^^; The Stray have a super-fast respawn time, so deal with them as quickly as possible. The Memory Receptacle won't move, but it has a nasty cone attack that will blow you back a ways. If you destroy it, there is a chance that a gate will open (one time, we had to go through about 5 gates to get one to open -_-) and you have a 2 minute window to warp to the next island. HOWEVER, if you are attacked (by leftover Stray) you are unable to warp, so best to clear those first.

As for the BC itself...
Dem: Big Ohmu-looking thing that spawns 1-2 bits at about half health. It seemed pretty easy to kill, but hits hard.

Mea: Spider-type that has a powerful AoE (it did about 250 damage to everyone in range) as will as a Throat-Jab type non-lethal attack that will knock you down to 10% hp or less.

Holla... not attempted yet :/

Also, certain empties have nasty status attacks. Mages and everyone who uses Utsusemi needs to carry Echo Drops, because a certain type (Weeper I think) has an AoE Silence. People going through Dem need to bring Antidotes in addition to this, and people going through Holla need to bring Poison Potions and Holy Water as well. Mages need to bring juices (I used about 5-6 melon juice per run), and melee HP potions.

My BC party was war/nin, war/nin, blm/whm, smn/whm, whm/blm, rng/nin. We beat the Mea boss easily, but the Dem boss was kinda ouch because of the take-down type attack. Careful planning of 2-hours is a must! We started 2hrs after it was at somewhat above half-health, Astral Flow, Mighty, Manafont, Astral Flow#2, Mighty, and Eagle Eye to finish it off.

The Special attack that the mea boss does is very lethal, I had 430 hp and it did 498 to me. This is not a non lethal attack.

Walk in the park for my party.

Basically, same as my mea post, had to get there (that was the hard part) Once we got there we had this setup

Ranger
Ranger
White Mage
Black Mage
Ninja
Warrior

Ninja kept up Utsusemi when he needed to recast the warrior would provoke off. The rangers would hit it with arrows, and the black mage nuked only mildly at the begining. We used slow on it to keep it form doing much, and we also had the Anima at the begining which helped an EXTREME amount. Once we had it down to half life, we started stepping up the attacks, rangers both popped barrages and two hours and it dropped pretty fast. All in all I as the white mage used maybe ... maybe 150 mana most of which was on slows. All in all monster died in seven minutes, and a good four of that was us waiting on white mages MP to fully regen after all the buffs at the start.

Thanks a ton,
Guyver
Zaphkiel
Telesis
Quaazar
Trencher

you guys made it a heck of an evening

Everyone has said that this is a really tough battle. We won the first time but had a great party set up.

It is a BCNM type battle where only a single party can go in. As has been mentioned, you really need a full alliance just to get to final battle. Don't expect to help fight again if your party is successful. If you win you will exit outside the craig at the broken crystal. If you die you will exit at the point of entry into the BCNM. You are capped at lvl 30. Make sure you have good gear for the level.

First, before you go in, remove all buffs. It can absorb buffs which makes it stronger. Food and songs seemed to be ok. I found food and medicines extremely important.

Party make up was PLD, RNG, BRD, RDM, WHM, and BLM. Melee are totally ineffective for this battle. RNG will do the most damage followed by BLM. We had PLD kite the mob with RDM casting enfeebs. Most important obviously is Gravity. RDM's enfeebs had no problems sticking. I was BLM and just nuked. I used 2 yagudo drinks, 2 hi-ethers and 1 Persikos au Lait to help when I got aggro. Our PLD was KO'd towards the end of the battle. By that time the mob was low on hp, I used Manafont to help finish it off quickly.

From what I understand, the various memories that drop from the empties can be used to make Anima. It appears that with the Anima, if the boss does an absorb, it will actually cause damage. We had none so I can't confirm this.

I hope this helps a little.

^ I handed in a Recollection of Fear to the Alchemist and got a Psychoanima in return. It took one vana'diel day for him to hand it back to me. He said that it was to be used on the Empty to cause a weakness. Since it is a potion I think I'm supposed to use it during the Holla BCNM Boss having heard that any potions, enhancing spells, etc. are absorbed by the boss instead.

So I went into the three promys and got my recollections of pain, guilt, and fear. When I went to give them, along with 2k, to whatever his name is (Starts with an A, I think), he doesn't do anything. When I talk to him, he mumbles about the emptiness's weakness. What am I doing wrong? Is it possible to have done enough to go into promyvions, but not enough to get animas?

You don't have to talk to the alchemist before being able to enter Promyvion... this is the first I've heard of him.

Small detail, but hey.

Oh, and the Monster in the BCNM has a slow attack speed but appears to have the double attack and triple attack traits which kick in rather often - to start with I could keep shadows up easily but very quickly I was having to start re-casting as soon as my first shadow was down. Got him to about 10% >_<

Treat the BC as you would any other: Mages bring juices and melees bring a hi-potion or three.

Another quick note about the boss, he has an element just like every other monster here, when we fought him he was blue, so he was a water based monster. Best bet (dunno if it changes) is to use attacks that are strong against water. Ramuh summon is the one summon our summoner didnt have (<_<) it was a brutal battle. Basically the ninja tanks blinked it back and forth till the monster got to fast, I used my whm two hour, and then spent the rest of the battle Cure II and III myself till I died. We got it down to around ... 30% of its life before it took out the entire party. If the ranger falls I can promise you, the battles over, so white mages do your best to keep the rangers up, ours was the one that did the most significant damage

Mea!
Okay so I did this with an alliance, 18 people just so the battles to the final were easy.
Most of the monsters on the first tear of mea were Decent challenge to me as a 30 White mage (you get delevled to 30 for this one) Enjoy the cut scene comming in.
For the most part, I must stress a good party setup. Preferably a group that listens to you well, I went with 18 people, and the people in my party listened to me the entire time. We never had any problems getting anyone into the areas as well as doing our party, everyone else just ran around in a chaos flow, was very annoying.

Once you arrive at the area, you will have to wander around till you find a memory receptacle, its the gateway to the next area. Its got a nasty AOE so get it with long range weapons as well as any magic. It also posses a knock back attack that throws you quite a bit away from the recepticle. Once its dead run up and it will ask you to enter the memory stream. Which teleports you to the next area

After a quick zap over to F-11, make sure everyone makes it through the gate, its a timed kinda thing. You have only a few minutes to get everyone through. Head South east from this point and search for the 2nd memory receptacle. Same as before. Monsters here are mostly decent challenge again. Just stike together and nothing to worry about.

Another quick note, some of the memory recepticles dont spawn the gate, if thats the case you gotta walk around and find another. Its best to have a ranger scout around with widescan and then move the entire alliance.

You are teleported to a new area, do not take the gate thats infront of you. Most of the monsters here conned VT or IT to me. Be careful, repeat the above steps to find your 3rd memory recepticle. Monsters around here are alot tougher, hopefully by this point everyone will stick together.

Another thing to note, once you make it to the fourth area, you dont have to search for a memory receptacle just head towards the huge tower, once you get through the pillars you zone into the Spire of mea, which returns your normal levels, rest up here, BCNM battles is up ahead and it will delevel you to 30 again.

The battle so far, ive seen three parties take this monster on. Its rough. Monster was doing about 80 damage a hit to everyone, and has the same AOE type ability as the memory receptacle. Monster was incredibly quick also, he could hit probably six or seven times a minute plus his AOE easy. All in all, I have yet to beat him, so far I think without a summoner it would be most impossible. Once I find out more, ill let you know

The main part with going to Promyvion is a CoP mission. If u talk to the Alchemist in the archdukes home after u have been to Promyvion u will recieve a quest called Empty Memories. in order to finish the quest you need to obtain a Recollection Memory from inside Promyvion (rare/ex based on the elemental property of the empty u killed) you trade this and 2k to him and wait a few hours (unsure how long i dropped it off at 7 PM and it was done at midnight) was given Rare/ex Anima that he said i needed to use it on the empty to find its weakness. quest is repeatable. i will post tomorrow the item names and NPC information.
