Mission Orders

The first mothercrystal has been tainted with Emptiness. Hurry to the remaining crags to find out if any other stones have met the same fate.

Walkthrough

This mission will be activated once you have defeated one of the first three Promyvion bosses. It does not matter which one.

About Promyvion

Promyvion is made up of four areas: Promyvion - Dem, Promyvion - Holla, Promyvion - Mea, and Promyvion - Vahzl. You need not concern yourself with Promyvion - Vahzl until PM 5-2 Desires of Emptiness. The first three Promyvion areas have a level cap of 30. As of the September 2008 version update[1], you do not have to wear level appropriate gear in a level capped zone, however it may be recommended for optimum performance. To enter a Promyvion zone, enter the Hall of Transference through a shattered telepoint at one of the three crags. Once inside, check the large apparatus to the left. At this point, you will be able to enter that zone.

Note: If you do not complete that Promyvion by defeating the boss at the end, you will need to check the large apparatus again to erase your memory in order to enter a different Promyvion.

The Promyvion zones are broken up into four "floors," each with increasingly tougher mobs called Emptiness. All emptiness are True Sight, so sneak and Invisible are useless. It is commom practice to avoid fighting them as much as possible, especially on the higher levels where they are typically much tougher than anything a normal level 30 party would be able to safely handle. It is advisable to carry with you a Reraise Earring. It also wouldn't hurt to have someone in your party with Tractor, just in case.

Traversing Promyvion

As previously mentioned, Promyvion zones are broken up into 4 "floors." To travel from one floor to the next, you must find and defeat the correct Memory Receptacle. Memory Receptacles are usually surrounded by special Emptiness called Strays. Strays are very easy to defeat, but can quickly become a problem in large numbers. Additionally, Memory Receptacles spawn Strays in regular intervals, so it is advisable to have a member of the party dedicated to killing them while the rest of the part is fighting the Memory Receptacle. Common practice is for someone with ranged attacks, like a Ranger or Samurai, to take care of this. Once the correct Memory Receptacle is defeated, a portal will appear that will take you to the next floor. Occasionally, you will encounter a "fake" Memory Receptacle, which after defeating will not cause a portal to appear. At the end of the fourth floor is the entrance to a spire, in which is the entrance to the battle field where you will fight the boss.

Promyvion Bosses

It is advisable to do the quest Empty Memories to obtain Psychoanima, Hysteroanima, and Terroanima, which will make the fights with the bosses significantly easier.

Promyvion - Dem Boss

Progenerator, a Gorger type mob, is the boss of Promyvion - Dem. Progenerator has the following moves:

  • Fission - calls out a pet, Offspring
  • Quadratic Continuum - Standard damage attack
  • Spirit Absorption - Drains 200 HP
    • This attack ignores shadows
  • Stygian Flatus - AoE Paralyze attack
  • Promyvion Barrier - Defense boost
  • Vanity Drive - Directional AoE damage attack
When you defeat Progenerator, you will receive the key item Light of Dem and be warped back outside.

Promyvion - Holla Boss

Wreaker, a Thinker type mob, is the boss of Promyvion - Holla. Wreaker has the following moves:

  • Empty Cutter - Single target physical damage attack
  • Negative Whirl - AoE Ice damage attack
  • Shadow Spread - AoE Curse and Sleep attack
  • Stygian Vapor - AoE Plague attack and hate reset
  • Trinary Absorption - HP Drain
  • Trinary Tap - Steals 1-3 status effects or 200 HP from the target if the target has no status effects active
    • Typical strategy against this is to have someone with /whm spam bar- spells
  • Winds of Promyvion - Similar to Erase
When you defeat Wreaker, you will receive the key item Light of Holla and be warped back outside.

Promyvion - Mea Boss

Delver, a Craver type mob, is the boss of Promyvion - Mea. Delver has the following moves:

  • Carousel - AoE physical damage attack with knock back effect
    • Shadows will absorb this move.
  • Empty Thrash - Standard damage attack
  • Impalement - Drops target's HP to 5% and clears target's enmity
    • This move can be avoided by running out of range.
  • Material Fend - Evasion boost.
  • Murk - AoE Slow and Gravity effect
  • Promyvion Brume - AoE damage with Poison effect
When you defeat Delver, you will receive the key item Light of Mea and be warped back outside.

Once you have the Light of Dem, the Light of Holla, and the Light of Mea, this mission will be complete.

To everyone who ever called Dem easy, you suck
# Nov 08 2005 at 12:35 PM Rating: Default
Alright, so I completed Holla and Mea, and I decided to lead a group to do Dem. Here's the info people would tell me "Dem is easy" and they didn't tell me anything else.

So I treated it like it was easy, got 2 War/Nin, 2 Blm, 1 Whm, 1 Drg/War. At fight we got mob down to 5%. But at 25% it had been spawning Offspring, so blm and drg focussed on killing them. Then blms ran out of mp, and BOSS STARTS HEALING. War/Nins couldn't do much damage to it as it's hit points were GOING BACK UP. This boss has an insane amount of HP.

It probably would have made a difference it we had animas, which we didn't bother with because everyone told us it was easy.

Rather than being a condescending prick and telling newbees this mission is easy, give people some useful info and tell them how to kill it. If you couldn't have done it w/o a summoner, don't act like it. If you need animas, don't act like you don't need that stuff.

New plan: if offspring pop, ignor them and kill boss.

I agree. The original poster mentions NOTHING of animas. But they are essential for all the Prommys, especially Hystero and Psycho. Just my two cents.

Promyvion-Holla was a bitter-sweet experience for my group and I. The floors are an absolute pain, especially with the maze-like graveyard layout. You need to be very well co-ordinated with your group to make it through here without too much trouble and expect to have to sit back and fight a path at times.

However, the boss fight, if prepared properly, is a breeze. All of the melees had holy water, eye drops, and poison potions. The boss blows out an AoE blind, curse and sleep. However, with these items that has no effect at all on you as you can instantly cure yourself. Now, here's the most important part: Anima. Make sure everyone has a Hysteroanima and a Psychoanima which block special moves and physical attacks respectively. Set up an order beforehand as to who will use them when and you'll have no problem. The fight went smoothly, I think our shadows went down maybe once or twice between the pyschoanima and intimidations.

We even broke the server record by half. Our setup was:

WAR/NIN: Cryptic
WAR/NIN: Moghedien
WAR/NIN: Elliott (me)
BLM/WHM: Zeik
WHM/BLM: Aryka
SMN/WHM: Mykal

OK ^^ I learned some critical information last night just before the boss Promy-Mea fight... Maybe everyone already knew this but I didn't and it makes Mea the easiest Promy fight ever - if u did know it why didn't you tell us :(.

For those of u (like me) who struggled and barely survived Mea when we did it for our wins and now help others pass this brute.. Here's the HINT of all HINTS:

The carosel move is primarily why ppl lose Mea.. It's totally spammed and HURTS like hell.. Well... I was told last night that the carosel move only happens when the party uses WS's... YES YOU HEARD IT... WS'S cause CAROSEL!.. SO DON"T USE EM... We fought it and it barely fought back. The only time I lost hate was when the smn started his 2 hour (and I was able to bring it back to allow the smn to finish 2 more 2hour bloodpacts). Not ONE Carosel not one!!!!! Granted we had anima which always makes the Promy fights good. We had zero deaths!!!

We had 2 war/nins, 1 smn, 1 whm, 1 blm, 1 sam. We breezed thru this fight we used 5 anima as everyone brought 2.

Oh and Alla above notes to kite this one... WHY??? I fought this straight up.. Don't kite.. make life easier on every1 keep your shadows up and keep to the right hand side of the room and have the mages separated to the other side away from each other. :)

Just wish I knew this when I went a long time ago. So I hope you use this information wisely for your next promy mea run - kick this NM's behind!!

To answer your question he was /rng to help guide us up to the Spire... The group felt that it was better to bring him as sam/rng than a gimped rng for that fight... My hint for the ws could be wrong ~ hell I'd be the first to repost here if I found out it was wrong... Mea was a pain in the behind til I discovered this... I have done the fight a few times since this fight and it didn't use carousel.

Someone was shouting in Jeuno for Promy-Dem tank. I had a NIN/WAR (Tarutaru) with a lot of +eva gear but I still thought I would be pretty useless. However, since I needed it I asked him what the setup was and I told him I was NIN and he said it was ok. Apparently they were looking for a tank w/ the setup:
SMN
SMN
SMN
SMN
WHM
I gladly accepted.
Aside from many summoners getting aggroed and me voking and eating it for them, when we got to the boss I wasn't even worried. I had high pots and animas in case something went wrong, and even if I died I had reraise so I would come back from the dead and voke him...or mijin gakure.
Basically, when two Fenrirs and two Shivas come out to play with two hours ready, there really isn't much any mob can do. =\
I voked off the bat and tanked him while astral flow went up, bam 3/4 its HP gone, then wave #2 came after about 30 seconds and it was dead.
The Progenitor missed me about half the time and hit only my shadows so I took 0 points of damage.
We got out breaking the record and nobody taking any damage (well except a Fenrir).

My LS and I have proven that you don't need specific jobs to win these Promy's,especially on Holla. We beat it with PLD/WAR,WAR/SAM,WAR/THF,BST/NIN,BLM/WHM,and WHM/BLM.The secret to our success was great timing with Animas and 2 hours.Previous to our Holla run,we took a few anima runs. When we were ready for the Promy,we all had one of each anima,18 in all.We took turns, each person would use their Psycho and Terroanima, then it would go to the next person. When the boss got to about 30%,we started using Hysteroanimas so that it wouldn't be able to get off it's AoE,which it wasn't able to once.

this was way to easy.....

honestly i forgot complete setup but yeah, we had 2 war/nin? 2 rng/nin 1 smn/? 1 whm/?

getting to the top took awhile avoiding aggro and all. but once we got to the top all we did was double use our psycho/hystero animas. you have to wait 5 secs between uses but just rinse and repeat every 30 secs dropping the animas and it never hit us. at half life smn used 2hr and around 15-25% the two rngs 2 hrd. going to do the same with Mea.... oh yeah busted carbuncles record by almost 3 minutes. it was around 9:12 and we took it down in about 6:14. i forgot honestly i had been drinking a little at that point. and frankly im not going back until someone from the LS needs it. Shadowflame on Carbuncle, cloudcroft if you have questions.

Did Promyvion-Dem last night. Party setup was as follows:

pld/war
war/nin
sam/rng
blm/whm
whm/blm (me)
smn/whm

We sat around and discussed our strategy for a couple of minutes before entering the BC. After buffing up (smn is very helpful, since you get Aerial Armor), and waiting for meditate recast timer, War/nin went in, got hate and took the first 5 hits. Pld/war then used provoke and focused on tanking the Bug. Whm cast Dia, ES+Paralyze, and Slow, and recast these debuffs every time they wore off. War/nin was designated to pull the offspring when they were spawned. If you don't have someone to pull the offspring and try to ignore them then it means death for the mages.

Pld pops yagudo drinks and whm focuses on debuff and keeping everyone alive. Blm debuffs and nukes lightly. At 55%HP, Sam/rng used Hysteroanima to try and keep the offspring from spawning, and used his 2hr, did Distortion SC-- Smn uses Diamond Dust and Blm MBs. 30 seconds later, war/nin uses his psychoanima. After that one wore off I was supposed to use my pyschoanima, but I didn't need to because by that time he was dead.

That's all I remember from the plan, and I'm not sure about the rest of the details and what else everyone did. I popped one Yagudo Drink and a Hi-ether, but probably didn't need to do this (security's sake). I even realized halfway through that I had forgotten to use my Reraise Scroll ... so I popped that too, even though we were winning with no trouble... just in case. Pld did end up using Invincible towards the end and had about 48HP left when the Boss died. Up until that point, though, she tanked it with no trouble at all and I kinda just stood there waiting for something to do.

For those of you going to do Promy-Dem, I hope this helps, and good luck to you! :)

Just wanted to put in my pt setups for my run at Holla and Mea. We had a fairly easy time in both places, both on the run to Spire and in Spire.

Holla setup:
(First Prom for all but SMN)
WAR/NIN
WAR/MNK
MNK/WAR
BLM/WHM (me)
WHM/BLM
SMN/WHM

Mea setup:
WAR/NIN
WAR/MNK
BLM/WHM (me)
BLM/WHM (first Prom)
WHM/BLM
SMN/WHM

As many ppl have mentioned, the Anima are probably the single most helpful thing you can take into Promyvians. We used food for both, and juice for both, and had most of the other recommended items but used very little of them, except of course Animas. We ended both w/o a single death and everyone at pretty much full HP even the tank. I'd bet I could've come as my main (DRG) instead of BLM and we still wouldn't have had any trouble at all. I'd also like to reiterate what a previous poster said, ES + Para does last a long time. We didn't use it on Holla as we were informed that it wouldn't stick, but later read that it helped a great deal, and it did last a heck of a long time on Mea as well as working quite often during that time.

Server~Fairy LS~Outlaws

Edit: Did Prom-Dem last night.

Dem Setup
WAR/NIN (First time)
WAR/MNK
RDM/BLM
SMN/WHM
WHM/BLM (First time)
BLM/WHM (Me)

NPs on this one either. Managed to spawn one offspring because the tank wasn't used to kiting, and Anima and gravity happened to wear off. Offspring are easily Bindable. We didn't use any meds, and I used my 2hr just in time for the SMN to pummel it w/ Fenrir for the last 20% HP :'( LOL. Only the two WAR and the SMN used 2hr and and we all had a lot of HP left and a decent amount of MP as well. Good times.

How to do promyvion as Thief:

1) You are a make-believe Ranger. Get a good xbow, and Archer's Knife (or 2 if you want to sub NIN), and plenty of Acid, Blind, and Venom Bolts. I reccomend subbing RNG as the ranged weaponskills you would have access too are better than what you have with Dagger, although I suppose you can mainhand a Sword and use Fast Blade too by subbing NIN. Squid or Sole Sushi is an excellent food choice. Get Racc rings and macro them into your /ra and WS:

/equip ring1 "Beetle Ring +1"
/equip ring2 "Beetle Ring +1"
/ra <t> and/or /ws "Split Shot" <t>
/wait 3
/equip ring1 "Balance Ring"
/equip ring2 "Balance Ring"

This will let you use Sneak Attack for maximum damage.

Now, to SATA or to SA + TA? Well, it depends on your setup. If you have 2 WAR/NIN or a PLD and a viable subtank, by all means SATA. If not, you're only wasting your time by SATAing, just Sneak Attack, go around, and Trick Attack. Use your judgement too, sometimes the mob will be moving around so much it may be too hard to SATA in which case you should just Sneak Attack.

But remember that in that minute between SA/TA, you are a Ranger so act like one! Back up and spam acid, blind, and venom bolts. Also keep in mind Venom Bolts do the most damage, so be sure to use them in your WS.
easy for some

Got on last night and a few friends asked if I wanted to go do Promy-Mea and I was like sure I need it why not. We get a few friends together and we head out. Farm a little bit to get the anima's and we were set.

Our party setup went as followed:

WHM/BLM (Me)
SMN/WHM
SMN/WHM
DRK/THF
PLD/WAR
BLM/WHM

I went as WHM cause I dont wanna loose xp on RDM lol. Anyway.. I did Mea the day before and died in the last fight and we lost so I lead the group to the spire. We got there no problem. Took a few minutes, no aggro, everyone was great.

Killed the recepts no problem as well. When we got the last floor before spire we had 1 problem. SMN just ran for it lol. Almost died. But we made it to spire no problem.

We start discussing what we are going to be doing in the battle. Using anima's at perfect times and such. Then I get dc'd. Cause SE cant hold a connection worth ****.

I get back on like 10 minutes later and say "Lets go before I dc again." And we head in.

Fight starts out like any other BCNM..

Buff up, rest to full and get ready.

so I cast Protectra II, Shellra, Stoneskin, and one SMN uses arial armor or what ever it is lol.

We all rest to full and get ready. PLD runs in an gets hate. Everythings going great, we got him to about 80% and use terroanima on him. HEs running around like a dumb *** like planned and its going well. Get him to 75% or a little less and use the next one. By this time the DRK and PLD have tp to do a good move and they do. Drop him to about 50% or a little less.

Next anima is used and when he stops the SMN's two hour. As soon as the SMN's hit him with two hour he aoe's twice and kills the BLM and DRK.

We start to panic a little but not give up. So I immediatly say keep the PLD alive.. got him to about 30% he drops the PLD dead with aoe again. He then starts coming for us mages, I use my terro to get him to run while the SMN's use carby to hit him a little. When he stops the SMN's use searing light on him to drop him to about 10% and he kills one of the other SMN's with the aoe attack. He comes for me and drops me to almost 1 hp I cure III and use another anima to get him to stand still. I ran back to the other side.

The other SMN uses carby 1 last time with searing light and drops him to about 5%.

Now me and the SMN are like **** almost no mp we gotta think of something we gotta win..

He aoe's us and almost kills us.. I 2 hour and heal us get mega hate and almost die again.

With our melee'ing we got him 2% and we're like **** we gunna lose... last second SMN casts dia and I cast poison and he AoE's again and kills us both and walks back to the center..

Then no more then 10 seconds later... he falls dead as the SMN is reraising.. and we won.

Best match ever. Good job guys, that was fun as hell.
Why was I worried about this?

OMG...Promyvion-Mea So easy it was ridiculous. Party was War/Nin, Blm/Whm, Smn/Rdm, Mnk/War(me), Sam/War Whm/Blm. Just a typical party. Walked past everything on the first 3 floors. Then aerial armor and run to the zone. We enter. Didn't even have to use the best eq. No shade killer eq, no potions, no special foods, no nothing. We engage. I do 2hr, it wears. War does 2 hr, it wears. Smn, blm and sam and whm do 2hr and monster dies.... too weak. I was actually worried about this...HA! Not one anima used..

better advice?

The advice given up top seems poor imo >.>. The best Party Set up IMO for Promy is PLD/WAR, WHM/BLM, SMN/WHM, SMN/WHM, RNG/NIN, back-up anything (NIN/WAR or WAR/NIN or BLM can go here, or even another RNG, if using back-up tank PLD should be main tank since when things start to go a bit badly in boss battle PLD can invinble, 45 Seconds of receiving no damage and getting massive hate).

I have done Promy-Mea with NIN/WAR hume, NIN/WAR tarutaru, SMN/WHM Hume(me), SMN/WHM Tarutaru, BLM/WHM mithra, WHM/BLM Hume. I think that is right. I messed up second 2H in the boss battle (lacked MP) but we got 5 2H BPs out and then BLM finished off the boss with Stone II? one of the ninja died and got warped to Luf meadows and the WHM died but we still won ^^;;.

As for getting to the Spires, it's best to just go in a single party and try to avoid all aggro, on 3rd floor if anyone gets aggro, get them to run to a safe place that the WHM can raise them. 3rd and 4th floor it's dreadfully important that the WHM has used a Reraise Scroll or Reraise Earring.

on 4th floor SMN can kite mobs around using avatars since you will most likely full rest and there is no MR on 4th floor. If SMN ends out using a spirit to kite a mob it's important to go straight for Spire and avoid as much aggro as you can on the way there.

on 1st and 2nd floors all mobs should be easy enough to kill.

Remember all mobs are true sight so invisible does nothing, but you can still run behind enemy.

finally for taking the boss, enter the boss area, buff up (Protectra II, Shellra, Aerial Armor, WHM Stoneskin). Tank goes first to the boss and provokes. SMNs should summon the avatar of the current day. everyone else should run around to the sides of the arena with a good distance between everyone (AoE attacks and all) Bank-up tanks and other Melees should go close into the boss but not directly infront of it.

If there is 2 SMNs, SMNs should now assault Avatars onto the boss, one SMN should pop a yagudo drink, Astral Flow and use 2H BP. This will give PLD a chance to Cure themself or a NIN/WAR or WAR/NIN to utsusemi. about 20~30 seconds later the next SMN should pop yagudo drink and 2H. wait til you hit 60MP before trying to 2H again.

If there is only 1 SMN this becomes harder since you can't nuke out the boss so quickly. SMN have to wait until the boss is about 75%HP or SMN has about 80MP before going into Astral flow else the end part of the battle SMN going to have no MP and therefore useless.

For tanks

For PLD, if you are at low HP and WHM can't keep up or has stolen hate from you, Invincible will get Hate back and you can cast Cure II on yourself to get some HP back.

For NIN, if you are going to die. You can use Mijin Gakure at last second, I believe as long as 1 person survives and boss dies then everyone still gets boss down as completed. Might as well not lose any EXP and Rip out a section of HP from the boss as you die.

For WAR/NIN, if WHM is stealing hate off of you from healing then use Mighty Strikes, doing as much damage as possible will be needed to save the WHM.

P.S. For Dem, I believe Offspring get destoryed when SMNs 2H since SMN 2H is AoE.

promy holla and mea
# Aug 28 2005 at 7:20 PM Rating: Decent
most people say that war/nin is needed for tank, but pld/war tank is far more better to keep hate. of course the damage you recieve as a pld is pretty harsh, but haveing some hi-potions and ethers covers that and allows the battle to go more smooth. war sucks at keeping hate and can kill the whm thats healing it. once the whm is gone, POOF the whole pt wipe out occurs.

promy holla- pt set up: THF/nin, RNG/nin, PLD/war, BLM, BLM, WHM. This set up went smooth in the battle. i was the pld and had 5 hi-potions, and 5 ethers. Just stay alive till you can start using the animas. THF can hit more and can SATA to give the pld more hate. RNG was hitting greatly with good damage. WHM's mp won't last forever, so pld need to cure himself at all time. BLM and WHM won't get hate at all if pld does his job. When i tried to do promy holla with war/nin, the accuracy was horrible and missed like 50% of the time. wars are acutally useless in my opinion. whats the point of 2 hring if it can't hit. What i can say is that be the job that you are use to it. following what everybody says will end up killing you sometimes.

Promy mea- for this, pt set up was THF/nin, RNG/nin, PLD/war, BLM, WHM, SMN. boss does a special move that knocks off almost all hp on whoever it hits. Utsusemi won't block it either, so war/nin is again useless here. I recommand to be a pld/war to keep hate at all time and can cure yourself. PLD voke the boss and turn right and pull the boss to the small room. If you do this, mages won't get AOE plus melees won't fly out. if the boss does his special attack that knocks your hp out, use hi-potions for faster curing. if you must, use invincible and then spam cure. THF, RNG, BLM, and SMN can do alot of damage, so rely on them till the boss is dead. PLD JUST DO YOUR BEST TO STAY ALIVE.

I thank Ayden that told me about the small room to prevent AOE for mages. helped us out alot. I thank Yulala(whm), omegaman(blm), falloutx (thf), cloudstear(rng), kamzu(smn), and maven(blm) for joining to do this missions. They are the best.

Remember, RNG, WHM, BLM are a must have. for tank, pld with potions and ethers is better. nin is just crap. they can't do any damage and when utsusemi is gone, they get hit hard. don't under estimate the power of thfs. they are pld's best hate controller. even if its at level 30, they are still far far far better to have in a pt.
Record Set

Finally finished Promyvion-Holla last night, even set a record, with a very unconvetional team:

WAR/NIN, WAR/THF, PLD/WAR, SAM/WAR, WHM/BLM, SMN/WHM

The record set was just over 7 minutes using the general strategy (poison potions, holy water, anima, etc). In my experience, it seems that you can pretty much beat any of these as long as you have between 6-12 of the hystero & psycho animas.

hehe set a record huh, we did this this morning and beat it in less than 7 minutes, i kinda liked the pt formation the kill was quick and painless for the whole pt. went in with 6 ppl, had a few deaths do to aggro on the way through, but ended up breaking the record. i was always holla was hardest. i am 1/1 holla, 1/2 dem, 0/2 on mea and so far holla was the quickest. PT SMN/WHM, SMN/WHM, RNG/NIN, WAR/NIN, WHM/BLM, and BLM/WHM.
beat this guy no sweat. as i recall the war and rng hp only just barely got into the yellow.

This guide annoys me the way it says you should bring "1D Echo Drops".

Why does D stand for "Stack?" Come to think of it, why does it stand for "Warp," also?

Why not just say "Stack?"

Not really Elephants its just as much effort to write 12 than it is 1D. Goodnews is you can farm the memories off the emptys on the first floor solo, so you wont have to try and convince people to farm animas 24 hours before going for the actual mission(s)... I used rdm/whm but I noticed a war/thf (with empty killing equipment) was chaining them in Holla. I dont think blm, whm can farm here as the memories on occasions hit 3 times in a row before you get to cast a spell.

And the D in warp is do to with how Warp translates in Japanese.

Wow... every day, I think to myself that people cannot possibly get any more idiotic than they already are. And every day, I am proven horribly, horribly wrong.

1D is not an abbreviation for dozen. Nor is it easier to type than 12. The abbreviation for dozen is doz. However, all of the poorly educated 9 year-olds who play this game think they're cool by making up silly stuff like this. The typo "pwn" is another of these things that have been taken WAY TOO FAR. It is a glorification of stupidity, and it really should stop. Nobody thinks you're cool because your fingers are too fat to hit the "O" key instead of the "P" key.

But, that is not the point. The point is that dumb people come up with dumb stuff, and we all have to deal with it. If some idiot is trying to look cool, and types D2 instead of Warp, or uses something entirely nerdy like "l33t", then don't worry about what it means, just feel very, very sorry for them. Because these things are signs that he or she has never been taught how to type properly, communicate properly, nor do they have any social skills whatsoever. It also could mean that the computer is their life. So pity them. You are not an idiot for not knowing what w00tnEEs, or 1D, or D2, or any of that other "geek speek" is; it just means you have a life, and that life does NOT revolve around a game.

just did this with a few LS friends. set up was me. war/nin, 2 rng/nins, 2 smn/whm, and 1 whm/blm.
i basically kited it for 50%of the battle, rangers pulled it off me when my shadows were down, we kited it around the pillars.
when it weas at 50% we halted it, the rangers EES's, i Mightstriked and one summoner AF'd, The second summoner didnt get a chance, it died too fast.
Only death was the whm when i halted my kiting, it pulled off me and i was out of range to voke it.

Easy fight, just kite it and toss hate bween /nin's. let rangers and smns plow away slowly (tail whip helps it too ive been told)

Unless they really blow on you when you first grab it and give the smns a chance to do their avatar skillchain, you'll be fine. Keep moving, only had to use one echo drop and about 10 shihei. Really easy fight.

Finally completed my first 3 Promyvions with Holla being the last and the longest for me. over the past few months have tried it several times and always failed, regardless of party setup even the perfect party setup as described above. So for those of you struggling with this one and looking for another option here is one for you:

Our setup was WHM/BLM, BLM/WHM, BLM/WHM, WAR/NIN, PLD/WAR (me) and RNG/NIN.

we farmed 4 animas, Pscyho and Hystero in which myself and the WAR/NIN obtained for use.

Made our way through the MR's fairly quickly with little fighting and an occasional agro but nothing major (30 mins to the Spire Zone).

Went through job responsibilities before the NM fight. WHM regen and regular cure, 1st BLM Paralyze and cure, 2nd BLM nuke and cure, WAR and PLD tank, RNG shoot those arrows.

Upon entering we all used reraise scrolls, took poison potion, Utsusemi, etc. WAR goes in and vokes first with me right behind. i take over main tank after shadows are gone, this gave the mages and rng time to setup and target appropriatly. We start out pretty slow, not doing any major damage right off but slowly whittling it down, 80% of NM health i use first anima (Psycho), it gets off sleep AE but poison still in effect on everyone. I throw Hystero anima on it. about 4 minutes into fight it's between 50 & 60% health, whm spamming cure, occasional cure II, getting a little harder to keep control of mob. 50% NM health it AE with curse, party uses holywates except we're all in the orange, somewhat struggling, not sure if we're going to pull through or not. my health reaches as low as 39 HP's but all the mages step in and cure cure cure. i shout to the whm, be ready with bene i'm going invincible. Invincible goes off, 5 seconds later, party at full health with benediction, NM glued on me. Now it's time to get serious, 1st BLM 2hrs, hard nukes one right after the other. NM health 40%, 35%, 30%, NM still glued to me. RANGER EES, NM @ 20% or lower, WAR uses Psycho and Hystero Anima, 2nd BLM 2hrs, hard nukes but NM health lowers less drastically, NM Red bar disappearing, 1st BLM was resting after bene and invincible to gain more MP, all 2 hrs used up with NM health barely visible. Weapons skills and BLM Nuke ---- Dead NM. No deaths.

I think the main key to the success was that everyone did their job, nobody paniced, and everyone listened to the instructions on what to do next. Thank you very much Celeste, Shippo, Alayne Dartima and our whm (forgot name <.< ).

I've been doing promy's for a few people in my LS, heck they've done them for me when I needed them too, I don't have much a take on Holla(yet, going to do a run in a few days) because I did that once, and won, and I didn't plan on going back.

There are all different sorts of setups that could work, will work, do work, but for my few Promy-Mea and Dem(which were record setting on Cerberus), we used this set up: WAR/NIN(29), WAR/NIN(30), BLM/WHM(30), SMN/WHM(30), RNG/NIN(30), WHM/BLM(30).

First thing is, have good gear. Good gear? Who woulda thunk it! I made sure that everyone had decent gear for the jobs they'd be doing; I don't expect everyone to go buy shade gear(wouldn't that be peachy?):

WHM and SMN's should have MP+ Gear
WAR and RNG's should have DMG+EVA gear(shade gear :O)
BLM/WHM should have INT+ gear

I myself provided the secondary tank with Shade Gear, I was the 29WAR(Oh noes!), because I had two sets(Lucky aren't I?)

As far as Items go you should bring standard items(reraise scrolls), I went a little further and pushed the Melee to bring Regen(pear) drinks. Mages had 1 Hi-Ether each and 2 Refresh(yag) drinks. As well as Food: Meat Kabobs(Melee), Melon Pie(BLM), Apple Pie(SMN,WHM).

and last but not least, Animas! Yes, the dreaded anima farming, I went out on my lonesome and made sure I had atleast 2. Don't be a sucker and let your PT tell you "We wont need them" because they are life savers indeed, and after all, they are for the Promys, why not use them?

Hysteroanima: Recollection of Pain - Makes the Mob incapable of doing a special attack for 30seconds.
Terroanima: Recollection of Guilt - Makes the Mob run around recklessly for 30seconds.
Pyschoanime: Recollection of Fear - Make the Mob freeze in place for 30seconds.

As far as getting up to the ENM; Thats to your own minds to fathom. I myself used my eyes to check the area for something like looked like a Memory Recepticale (MR) and we ran towards it in hopes that it wasn't a fake(and yes, there are). For some reason our RNG didn't seem to know how to use his widescan very well. The last floor I just told everyone to Utsusemi up and the SMN to have Carby out, and we made the madd dash to the Zone, this is actually less timely and I feel less dangerous then trying to make it around a large group of mobs. The two WARs voked off mages if they got agro, and the SMN used Carby to take hate off himself, using this way nobody ever died.

We used the following strategy, and I hope it works as well as it did for us.

First off, I'd like to take this time to let you know what I told every member in the PT: WHM- You are level 30; Everyone is level 30; You should not be waiting for red/yellow health to cast a Cure 3, it draws hate and the cast time is too lengthy( we had a problem with WHM's casting cure 3 when the tanks were are yellow health, the spell would not hit before the tank died). SMN- We are relying on your MP and your 2hr to kill the Mob, help cure, do not have your pet out meleeing(it's really not needed). BLM- Enfeeble, Nuke some and Help cure!. WAR - Keep the hate, if the other tank loses shadows, voke!. RNG- Stay out of AOE range, Shoot your little sticks, and when called on, use 2hr without hesitation.

With that being said, we entered into the BCNM:

WHM cast the buffs: Protect, Shell.
RNG and WAR: Utsusemi
Everyone: Food & Reraise.

We had the WAR with the most HP to have first voke(in which case it was my buddy Mobsta who happens to be a Galka). He ran in, Berserk and Defender (No they do not cancel each other out, you get both buffs with weakened enhancments, test it out if you don't believe me.) and voked, I came behind hitting my buff macro (/ja "Berserk" <me> /wait 1 /ja "Defender" <me>) and we went at it. We pulled the mob back towards the far wall so that the AOE wouldn't hit mages, but they could be close enough to cure. Besides the standard we had an anima order (this is important) Psychoanima's go first in the battle, because it makes the mob stand still which is loverly for the tanks. I shouted out who should throw the Psycho's as I had taken down who had what. At about 70% Health I had thrown down my Terroanima, I had discussed this with the other tank earlier, and this proves to be the best strat (You should NOT need more then 1 Terroanima as the mob running around is going to prove a hassle.) When I used the Terroanima me and the tank both re-did Utsusemi, I voked, and used my regen drink, Mighty Strikes. When he stopped running, he was all mine, critical critical critical, and then my shadows were gone! so the other tank voked, and he didn't have too much trouble taking it off, but it did come back to interupt my cast a few times, in which the other tank did mighty strikes (he had used his regen juice earlier). Depending on how many Hysteroanima's you have you should do orders of 20%: Someone use one at 60%, 40%, 20%, 10% (if you have 4), the last part of the battle is hardest so you should stress these anima's order the most. As far as the Melee went, we had the RNG 2hr at 50%, soon the mob was at 40%, anima, SMN 2HR, anima, and me and the other tank hit it til the cows came home, everyone went nuts, we walked away with no deaths.

It was a blast.

Wow. Someone telling people to do these in an alliance, no wonder the poster had such a hard time and makes it sound like the most daunting task ever concieved in this game. 6 people is the best way to go. Be smart and stay out of aggro range. None of these are difficult to do that in. If you have 18 people running around in one area; it is. Buying the "best gear available, it's worth the money and effort?" Living testimony right here- you don't need to go out of your way. Buy what you'd normally buy. The author of this post obviously thinks large numbers and "elite gear" makes the mission. Hardly. Both times I tried these in an alliance, we failed horribly; you'll always have an accident or someone being a restless idiot. Did it with 6 people? Got through 'em fine. Mea being harder than Holla?! If you have problems with Mea, and not with Holla, one of two things happened. You're mixing them up, or some freak up and down turn of luck. As for job combos, yeah, the cookie cutter war/nin, rng/nin, smn/whm or blm/whm setups work, but this person makes it sound like NOTHING ELSE DOES. Bull. Did these in a sam/war, nin/war, rdm/blm, whm/smn, rng/nin, rng/nin party. Friend of mine did 'em with pld/war, sam/war, rng/nin, whm/blm, rdm/blm, whm/blm. one thing I WILL say though- Having the Animas(Gotten by trading 2k kill and a Rare/Ex Recollection item to an NPC in the duke's house in Ru'Lude Gardens) makes the boss fights a LOT easier.

In short, don't be fooled by the overwhelming tone and "If you're not godly and perfect you'll be screwed" attitude of this description. It's this kind of attitude and point of view that ruins online games. Take things easy, have a good time- have common sense, not elitism. End of story.

before peeps bust a nut thinking they are god like cuz this was so ez and the guide makes it sound impossible... realize this was made when prom first came out... and IT was f'n difficult and IT DID require 18 people and most of the time it ended in wipes and failures. But then SE nerfed it and now 1 pt of 6 can scale it and pwn the place in less than an hour.

Hmm well nerfd or not if you are on the last lv fighing isn't an option so I don't quite see the point of 18 ppl. I say ppl got smarter. Instead of 18 wich tripples your chance of aggro, you go in small and take it down quick. People get wiped easy in this nerfed or not. Your goal is to fight the boss not kill everything alone the way.
