Battle Notes

Trade 40 Beastmen Seals to Shami and get a Star Orb. Trade the orb to the Burning Circle in Horlais Peak located in the Yughott Grotto.

This fight is capped at level 40, and only three people may enter the Burning Circle. Upon entering, you will find three mobs from the Hecteyes family: One large Sobbing Eyes and two smaller Compound Eyes.

  • The Sobbing Eyes will cast Firaga I, Bindga and Breakga and is capable of healing itself using the ability Catharsis.

  • All have Hecteyes special attacks, and will spam "Hex Eyes" if the characters are not already paralyzed.

Strategies

A typical strategy for this fight is to go in with a party consisting of two NIN/BLM or NIN/RDM's and a RDM/BLM. Eat food, buff, heal, then each NIN will take their own Compound Eyes while the RDM kites the Sobbing Eyes with Elemental Seal Gravity to start, then Bind and Gravity. Each NIN will spam Tier-2 Elemental Wheel Ninjutsu on their Compound Eyes, making sure to keep their back to the mob to avoid the paralysis effect of the Hex Eyes ability. Once their individual mobs are dead, the NIN's will rush to where the RDM has kited the Sobbing Eyes and spam Tier-2 Elemental Wheel spells again until the fight is over, while again keeping their backs turned towards the mob.

Note: Reports indicate that it is possible for Scroll:Utsusemi: Ni to drop twice from the same treasure chest at the end of the fight.

I want add some information.

Compound Eye
Spells: Fire II, Drain
Abilities: Hex Eye(very strong paralyze), Death Ray (DMG)
Normal Attacks: Slow hits, low dmg (10-40)

Sobbing Eye
Spells: Bindga, Firga
Abilities: Breakga (I personally never had this happen will update asap)
Normal Attacks: Slow hits low dmg (20-50)

Other useful information
These mobs do not need TP to do Hex Eye and Death Ray like normal mobs.
They will do Hex Eye or Death Ray very often, if I had to guess i'd say once every 10 seconds, its not easy to avoid as they do it so often. You can avoid it by turning around when he does it.

I will add more information once it becomes available.

My ideal PT setup:
Member 1: NIN/WAR
Member 2: NIN/WHM
Member 3: RDM or BST or SMN

Purpose of members:
Member 1: Main Tank and DD, I recommend ninja because ninja can use tools and not face mob.

Member 2: Sub Tank and DD, I recommend ninja for same reason, ninja tools no need to face mob, also WHM sub for member 2 for Barfira, and heals. This can be any DD with WHM sub. I think NIN is best though.

Member 3: Kiter, kites main boss while other members kill off other 2, I recommend RDM as it is very easy in my experince.

Our plan was to kill weaker eyes, Compound, then kill main boss, Sobbing.

Again, I will add more information once it becomes available.

My boyfriend and I did this last night along with another friend of ours. Our setup:

NIN/WAR
RDM/WHM
BLM/WHM (me)

Originally both I and my boyfriend were going to go as NIN/WHM (he went as the NIN last night) which is the recommended setup, but we've been using the same set of gear to level up our NINs, so we only have one set of gear between the two of us. Plus, some of the level 40 elemental debuff ninjutsus are quite expensive. So he suggested I just go as BLM (since both he and I have a lot of 40-capped BLM gear lying around that I could use.) so we wouldn't have to buy even more gear, or both buy the expensive spells.

Our first run was pretty bad. We wiped hard, in about 2 minutes. I don't know quite how it happened, but our RDM buddy got bound and then petrified about 30 seconds in. So I ran to cure him, and pulled hate off him. I should've just kited the mobs down the ramp, but instead I dragged them back into the Arena, where my boyfriend was fighting the first Compound Eye. Big mistake on my part. >< Long story short, we all got caught in Breakga and that was the end of that.

Our subsequent runs went beautifully, however. I think our RDM maybe changed the order that he debuffed, debuffing the Sobbing Eye first so it wouldn't catch up to him quite so fast while he was kiting. My boyfriend and I stayed in the Arena again with the first Compound Eye, and were able to take it out in about 2 minutes or less. By that time the RDM was way down by the zone, and started kiting the mobs back up to us. We met him and pulled the second CEye off him, and again took it down quickly. When the Sobbing Eye is actually engaged, it doesn't use Breakga much -- I think of all 3 runs, it only used Breakga once when we were actually fighting it, and fortunately I had just pulled hate and I was standing far enough away that only I got hit. So it was no problem.

The key is really having a NIN tank. I think for everyone who's been asking, "Can <insert random DD> be used in this battle?" the answer is yes. Just as long as you have a NIN and a RDM. NIN, when at 40, can use their Ni elemental debuff ninjutsu to do damage and hold hate, thus allowing them to tank backwards and avoid the evil Hex Eye paralyze (I got hit with that once and it took me 6 tries to cast paralyna on myself.) Meanwhile the RDM is needed to bind and gravity the other two eyes (our RDM said that after the initial castings, it was pretty easy to kite them since they cast so much that he had plenty of time to get and stay ahead of them.) The third spot, which "ideally" goes to another NIN to help tank, can go to a DD job. I would just recommend that no matter what job the third person is, that they go as /WHM, to help the NIN out in case the NIN gets paralyzed or needs a cure while the RDM is kiting.

We won this 3 times last night and got 1 charm drop. The last charm went for 18m on our server, so we each just netted 6m. Not bad at all. And between the three of us, we have enough seals for 10 more orbs. Hopefully by the end of the week, we'll all be rich.

I am curious, though -- on our last run, we only got 5 items (the first two runs we've gotten 6.) Is this normal? Also, does this BCNM drop Erase and/or Utsusemi:Ni?

I can confirm that it drops Utsusemi:NI. Did this BCNM today and got it on my orb.

Is there anything I can do as a dark knight to be able to do this BCNM, cause I have about 160 seals and I could really use the charm. Any ideas?

I can confirm that it "IS" possible to get 2 Peacock Charms in a row, it just happened to us!!! I have done this BCNM quite a few times now and I'm always a nin/war. Party set-ups have included:

nin/war + bst/whm + bst/whm
nin/war + rdm/whm + bst/war
nin/war + rdm/whm + drg/whm

As long as the Sobbing Eyes is pulled out of the circle so it doesn't breakga everyone and kited to the entrance, the nin/war can tank both lesser mobs if needed if the other job can heal a bit from time to time. Pear au Laits were my best friend healing 3 hp every 3 seconds for 5 minutes. I needed 2 per fight as I hardly even got hit from the one I was fighting. I usually took the first one a few minutes into the fight. The other DD fought his/her lesser mob until I needed to take over and tank it too if needed. After both were dead, we ran to the boss and killed it. Firaga was nasty so try to keep barfira up.

I do have to stress though that sometimes the boss wanted to cast breakga at the start if the rdm pulled with gravity but if he/she runs as soon as gravity goes off, breakga doesn't hit anyone and the 2 lesser mobs were pulled right to the back of the circle as soon as possible before any fighting started. Then I would start casting elemental Ni spells, debuffed the mob after those 6 spells while waiting for recast timers, then started over again.

Drops were almost always nothing but crap, but we didn't do this bcnm to get gil, we did it to get the charm. I have seen a few drop from this one as well as Phalanx a few times and Utsusemi: Ni once. Grudge Sword also drops but it's only worth 3k on my server and there were some gems and other crap too that sold for 5k or less. Funny thing is now that I look back on all the runs I did, the Peacock charm has a better drop rate than Utsusemi: Ni and my friend is 3/12 on the charm and I'm about the same.

Panic is your worst enemy here, things need to be timed right from the beginning and you need to concentrate at least 90% on what you're doing and just trust that your friends are doing the same.

Well me and two of my real life friends went and attempted this BCNM the passed few days. Our setup was.

Nin/War (Me)
Nin/Whm (Hadean)
Rdm/Nin (Orlia)

We failed on our first 5 orbs because we had no idea how to even attempt this thing really we didn't even think about using our Ni Elements until a friend online told me. After that we started kicking some serious *** and we got a Charm drop on our 4th Victory. After that we did 10 more and are stil 1/14 on this ****** for dropping the charm.

Congratulations to Hadean on his Peacock Charm and hopefully Orlia and I will have ours in the coming weeks, seeing as how I am going to have to farm seals now! >.<

Our Strat:
We would come into the BCNM both Ninja put their Ni on and Hadean /whm would eat a Rolanberry Pie and rest to full MP and then me and him would head to the top, while Orlia would P2 and S2 us and then buff herself up with Stoneskin and Utsusemi and what not. When she gets to the top usually has around 200 MP she Gravitys the boss, I voke the right and Hadean would Dia the left. Then I would switch targets to Hadean's mob and we would both start doing the Elemental Wheel. I would usually end up having hate from both of them and tanking them. I had really no problems keeping my shadows up and every once and a while Hadean would toss me a Cure II. After we smoked the 2 Compound Eyes by that time Orlia would be at the top and the Sobbing Eye not to far behind. I would voke and tank it backwards and cast elements while Hadean would attack and and cure. Orlia would main cure and DD the Sobbing Eye and we would win. No real problems with this one after we learned our strat losing 5 orbs =(

Good luck to anyone who is going to try this and I hope you can use my strategy to your benefit!!!

I owned this BCNM so badly right now :P
nin/whm nin/whm rdm/blm (me)
RDM start cast gravity on Sobbing eye, each ninja claim one eye. The Sobbing eye will not cast anything on u since ur alrdy far away, keep stoneskin + phalanx up, blink aint needed, Sobbing eye take it away often with binda & breakga.
Always have gravity up, when Sobbing eye use breakak u cast bind before his spell goes off, hes bound while ur petrified, dont matter who get "unbound/pet." first ur stoneskin take it.
When ur unpet. recast gravity and or bind and refresh stoneskin, the 2 NIN's will have no prob damage:Ni the 2 Comp. eyes down, and once small eyes are dead get the sobbing one back up and kill it w/ nuke, there is acctually no need to cure, but I did convert each time, when nin's got hate controll of sobbing eye, convert + cure3 then nuke, DoT is not needed, neither is paralyze or silence
Summoner of any use?

I watched some friends of mine do this as nin, sam, and rdm and win and get the peacock charm drop. They used the strategy where rdm kites boss around while nin and sam beat the other two to death. I would like to do this same bcnm but all i have over 40 is whm and smn. my question is, would a summoner be able to take the rdm's place and kite the boss around with carbuncle? if all else fails i can astral flow right?
RE: Summoner of any use?
# Sep 19 2005 at 12:49 AM Rating: Decent
to answer my own question, yes smn is very usefull. Our setup was sam/war , war/nin, and me smn/whm. sam vokes 1 mob, ninja voked other mob, and carby attacked boss mob. I retreat carby and kite it all the way back to beginning, resummoning carby as needed (only once was necessary). Sam 2hr'd and killed 1 within 30 seconds. ninja tanks other one facing backwards so as to not get paralyzed and kills it using ninjitsu with samurais help. Once those two were dead it was easy, just beat the hell out of the boss mob. Unfortunatly no peacock charm drop, but utsusemi ni apparently drops from it so still a good drop.

Would MNK be a ok DD for this BCNM?
my experience
# Sep 16 2005 at 4:48 AM Rating: Decent
ok me and 2 friends decided to do this BC last night settup was

nin/whm
nin/whm
rdm/nin <me>

First time we went in we got completely curb stomped since the plan was the nin's take on 2 little ones while i kite big one around the circle. Needless to say breakga and bindga really messed us up and we whiped. Second Run was basically the same thing except on the pull the Big Hecteye decides to cast breakga right away and i didn't get outa range fast enough one nin died and we were forced to retreat.

Now heres were the useful information comes when u enter the circle one nin cast shellra while other cast barfira and barparalyze, Rdm protect II the 3 and shell II him/her self. Rdm then uses juice and casts stoneskin, phalanx, utsusemi, and aquaviel *(trust me it really does help)*.

Healing to full for rdm's mp is not neccessary 275-300 will do fine as the juice will gradually build it back up. Rdm goes in and paralyze's sobbing eye and runs dow hill while both nin paralyze the left and the right compound eyes and stay in the cirlce.

Ninja's Job:
ninja has back faced to the Compound eye since they paralyze and it will not effect you if u are not in eye 2 eye sight and spams Ni spells. Once compound eye reaches 1/4 life turn around and mellee until dead. paralyna urself when needed. After both are dead run down to assist rdm.

Redmage's Job:
This is probably the most simple thing to do just keep gravity on the Sobbing eye, bind, run out of spell range, rinse, lather, repeat. Cast stoneskin urself as needed given sometimes u don't get outa Breakga or Bindga in time and may have some recast left on Bind or gravity. Once Ninja's are done with Compound Eyes make sure u keep hate and this thing bound but stay within spell range this time. It is better that the Rdm gets hit with breakga and bindga then the 2 nin's melleeing it.

The best way i found to keep hate was toss a cure III to the nin's every once and awhile since they will still get hit but it will only cast spells and special abilities on you. When running low on mp just bind it run back convert cure III x2 and u should be could by that time u can nuke it and finish it off.

Well, we did 6 more runs this past weekend and we finally got peacock charm, man it feels good to have some gil. We did same set up, 2 rng 1 rdm, 6 times, we got ni once and 1 charm, so 4 runs were all crap but who cares, we all got 4.1 million each. I suggest you bazzar it or find someone who wants it and make a deal, we sold it for 12.5 mil, and 2 on AH didn't sell, so they lost 300k+ trying to sell.

Lullaby does work, but it is not reliable at all.
Landing lullaby consistently on the small ones is not possible.
We went bst/bst/brd and we're 1/6.
There was a few weeks and an update between the first three and the last three, i think they upgraded them.

Did this a little while back with Rdm/whm(me) Nin/war and War/nin like this:

Everyone had a few potions just in case and I(rdm) had some melon juices I didnt really need.

Enter BCNM and run up the hill to the ramp that leads to the 3 eyes. Rdm buffs everyone with Pro, Shell, Barfira and Blink/Stoneskin. Rest to full if you're paranoid or just pop a juice and go.

Rdm gravity the main eye in the middle and turn to run down the hill. Nin vokes the eye on the right and duos it with the war. The other smaller eye will follow the rdm probably trying to cast Fire II or firaga.

On Kiting:
Basically my strategy was simple, land gravity on the Sobbing Eye and kite the other eye down the hill slowly to allow the other 2 to kill the first Compound Eye and start on the next as you reach the bottom of the hill. Simply allow the Compound Eye you are kiting to cast whatever spell and run just out of range. After you are out of range spam bind on it until it comes back into range and again move just out of casting range. Most likely it will cast on you again after bind wears, just repeat the previous steps until the other members come to take it off your hands.

As for kiting the Sobbing Eye just make sure you have stoneskin and blink up. At some point it will probably catch you with Breakga(AoE Petrify) so you just have to ride it out til it wears and you can gravity and run again. Pretty simple stuff just stay cool and you'll be fine.

On Tanking:
Nins spam ninjutsu whenever possible as its great damage and fast to cast. Their accuracy is horrible or as a friend would say "It hits like a RDM.". Our Nin said they never had to cast Ichi except once after they had just cast Ni and firaga stripped shadows. When you fight them unlock from target so you can turn if it is going to use Hex Eye. This move is nasty paralyze effect, but will only paralyze you if you are facing the mob.

Tip: For practice try going to the Eldieme Necropolis from Batallia Downs @ (G-8) and fight some Gazers. They have the same move and you can get used to what to expect from the eyes in the BCNM.

Other than that just keep your head. Only trouble I had was in the first run we did when I was bound by the Sobbing Eye and was taking some pretty good damage from two eyes spamming spells on me. Instead of recasting bind and gravity and possibly risking death in the process I converted my MP to HP >.< Worked out for us tho because I was able to kite long enough for them to finish off the 2 smaller eyes. Rested and finished off the last one^^

Drops...
Only notables were 2 phalanx scrolls. Now I cant get any of my LS to go back and try again ; ;
I will have my Charm one day... anyone on Seraph who is interested PM me or send a /tell in game and we'll set something up.

Hope this helps anyone looking to get a charm, GL!

Beat the BCNM
# Sep 02 2005 at 4:03 AM Rating: Decent
Ok, this is Aydyn from Midgardsomr posting to let everyone know how we managed to beat this BCNM with BST/WHM BST/WHM PLD/WAR with no problems.

Two of my friends went in as BST/WHM. They both used Courier Carrier I believe (I haven't taken BST past). Both my BST friends have Sniper Rings, Leaping Boots, Emporer's Hairpin and other really good gear. We all stock up on Hi-Potions and Yag Drinks.

Both the BSTs go in first and attack the sobbing eye. Then I rush in as a PLD/WAR and Provoke one of the compound eyes and then Flash the other. I then proceed to run like hell down the hill in spurts. Right when the eyes cast fire 2 and drain I run just out of range and this goes on until I reach the bottom of the hill. At that time I use powder boots and run back up. Curing myself as needed this entire time while provoke, flashing and using postions and drinks etc. By the time I'm back up, the BSTs have killed the Sobbing Eye. They then proceed to kill the two compound eyes. When we meet up I remain stationary and tank as long as possible without facing the eyes (cure/flash/provoke). When they both turn I turn around and begin fighting. They die shortly after. Honestly these things hit for about 10-20 dmg, so barely anything. But their Fire 2 and Drain go for 100-200.

We died the first time because I didn't run down the hill. But we've suceeded with absolutely no problems another 4 times. No peacock drops yet but we've got 2 scrolls of erase. We'll be doing it again with this setup as it works fantastically. :)

This BCNM is so simple its retarded. I've been doing it as bst/whm bst/whm rdm/blm.

I use funguar, since they're dark element and immune to drain, and have high paralyze resist so it wears off fast, not to mention double attack and hella strong tp attacks. The other bst uses tigers. The tiger bst runs in, makes it attack the big one. All 3 link on the tiger while the bst runs. When he gets a nice distance, he heels them and the tiger hauls *** away. Now, a tiger runs faster than a player can, so the hecteyes have no chance to keep up, so they can't hit it with any tp attacks or spells before its out of range. It then catchs up to the bst whos halfway down the tunnel, and who makes it stay. He then reverses direction. When they catch up to it, he heels again, and it flys by them faster than they can get off really anything. Usually only needs maybe 1 pet food tops for that pet.

Meanwhile, when he first heels, I pull off one of the little hecteyes, and me and the rdm kill it quickly. Using a buzzard tuck, the rdm was hitting for 30+12 every hit, and when the little ones are silenced (they can be. the big one is completely immune), they're not all that bad. It dies fast, then I go pull off another little one, and we kill it the same way. By now the funguar has well over 100 tp, and so do I and the rdm. I sic my pet on the big one, the tiger bst uses leave and calls a funguar himself. The rdm converts, throws some regens around as needed, casts stoneskin and phalanx, and enfeebles the crap out of the big one (nothing is cooler than "The sobbing eye starts casting Firaga...The sobbing eye is paralyzed." Sweet Sweet revenge) We all use tp and kill the big one before it can bust out too much damage. Takes about 10 min in total.

RDM may be able to kite, but if you want a kiter thats COMPLETELY safe (no messy petrifies or binds to worry about), find a 40+ bst :p

Funguars are not immune to drain and sure as hell weren't resisting the paralyze.

I was able to win tonight with 3 bsts using this strategy, but the funguar info was dead wrong.

Could fooled me when we used our funguar and they were only getting drained for like 12 hp, while the crabs were getting drained for over 100 :p

And funguar get paralyzed because its an ability doing it, but it wears off the funguar much faster than it does crabs or tigers.

Effective Strategy + Drop Rate Changes

Hey guys. Jafar here, from Carbuncle. Just thought I would share a strategy that we used about a week ago (immediately after last maintanence) to win 13/13 runs.

Here was our party setup:
NIN/WHM
NIN/WHM
RDM/NIN

Things that are important: Both ninjas have capped ninjutsu skill, at least a lvl 17 WHM sub, and all :NI level elemental magic spells (Katon, Raiton, etc..) with tools to use them.

We also used juices for HP and MP regen, although this is really only necessary for the Red Mage.

Here's the strategy:

RDM buff everyone @ start then rest to about 80% MP, use a juice and begin. Red Mage casts Gravity on main eye (big one in the middle) and begins to kite it up and down the hill. Each ninja begins "nuking" a different eye (decide who gets left and who gets right before you go in).

The Ninjas will be fighting the two smaller eyes with their backs turned, using Ninjutsu to kill them. If one ninja finishes before the other, it is advisable that he help finish off the smaller eye, then both Ninjas head down the hill to meet the red mage and finish off the big one.

Remember to always have your back turned, as the paralysis is REALLY tough. The WHM subs for Ninjas are for Barfira and for Paralyna (will not be able to cast on yourself, other ninja must help). You will also probably have to cure yourself from time to time.

When fighting the big eye, I found it best to get a good ways away from each other and try to keep him in the middle of the two of you. This will do a few things: When he casts Firaga or Breakga, it won't get both of you, only the one that currently has hate. This is turn will make it easier to keep shadows up and also mean that one of you can cure/fight at all times.

It is a pretty straightforward, reliable strategy. It is important that the RDM kiting the main eye knows what he is doing. He must have shadows/stoneskin up at all times, in case he gets paralyzed or petrified.

Our first run through, and our first time trying out this strategy, it took us about 13:20 to complete the fight (15:00 time limit). By our last run we were becoming pretty efficient and doing it around 9:30, but I would say this fight will take on average 10:00-12:00 minutes.

I was one of the ninjas and my gear was basically +INT, with a Ninjutsu earring, and lots of spellcast down gear (druid's rope, nikkaraeo(sp?), mountain gaiters). Both of us used Melon Pie and pineapple juice, as well as Au'Lait (though not really needed). The red mage was using yagudo drinks, and rolanberry pie.

One thing that made the first few fights a bit long was that the red mage forgot he could convert at level 40. That is important, and using it when needed will make the fight much faster and easier.

----Drop Rate Change----

Now for the fun part. I am sure some other people have figured this out already also, and will probably hate me for posting it, but I thought that everyone should know. As I said, we did this immediately after the August 19 update.

Now, this is mere observation, but it would seem to me that the drop rate on certain items that many people want from this BCNM have been greatly increased.

Between the patch when the Peacock Charm was introduced into this update and the August 19 update, the drop rate on the Charm was rumoured to be around 1/50, a horrible chance at getting the item. Well, when we went on our run, that was of course what we all wanted. The first 3 runs were mostly crap drops. (We were going on a "Your orb, your drop" basis). The best drop came from my orb, a scroll of Utsusemi: Ni. We decided we'd go through one more round, just in case. The first two fights of the round (4th and 5th overall) were more crap. I was in a state of shock when, on my orb, not only did I get a peacock charm, but I also got a scroll of Erase.

After this, we were all excited, and couldn't believe my luck. We decided to do another round, for the other two. Surely two wouldn't drop in one night, but it was worth a try right?

Well on the first fight of this round, the red mage gets..... a peacock charm AND erase. Not the same drops as before, but the same 2 big ones. So now we are thinking that we are probably the luckiest people in the world at this point. 2 ultra rare 1/50 drops in a row! So we go again for the other ninja, and more crap drops.

The red mage had to go at this point, but the other Ninja really wanted another shot, so I told him I'd help him if he wanted to go again. We get a red mage from his linkshell, go back to Horlais' Peak, and enter the arena. First orb, the other ninja gets his peacock charm. Okay.. so now I think something is fishy. When the red mage gets a 4th peacock charm on the next round, we begin to wish we hadn't been telling people about our incredible luck. Hehe.

So at this point we are all getting greedy and plotting on selling our charms for the going rate (14mil) before the price crashes into the dirt. We decide on one more round, and this time I decide I'm going to use another 40 seals in hopes of a second charm for myself. No more charms dropped in the next 3 rounds, but to get 4/13, including 4 of 5 in a row, says to me that something is either seriously wrong, or SE has decided that peacock charm should be a much more common item.

I thought I would share this information with the public at large, in hopes that everyone gets an equal opportunity at getting this great necklace with the same information.

we're now 0/6 on this one o.x

we've gone
full dd : war/nin, thf/nin, drk/war (with tons of potions etc)
rdm/nin, rdm/blm, rng/nin
rdm/nin, war/nin, whm/blm
rdm/nin, pld/whm, war/nin
rdm/blm, pld/whm, war/nin

we keep ,trying, but we keep dying

gonna try again in 1 hour

war/nin, rdm/nin, pld/whm again
But this time we got a different strategy (much like the one posted down there somewhere)

What I wonder though..

Hecteyes are weak to light, right?
How about 2x smn/whm and an rdm/blm?
or maybe even 3x smn

2hr + Seering Light?
Sigh

I went with the stratagey below and It didnt work as well for me. Maybe I didnt go at it correctly but here is what happen. I went with a Nin/war rdm/whm and me drk/thf. Did everything as the post saids but we couldnt get past the first compound eye. The NIN tanked it backwards and he got paralyzed. After that he couldnt voke anymore so i ofcourse started taking hate and then i got paralyzed. The rdm bound the second eye and kited the sobbing eye but he unfortunaly got bound by the sobbing eye while kiting and then after that he was the first to die. By the that time the second eye was unbound and the sobbing eye was on the way to finish the job he started with our rdm. Needless to say we all died. The stratagey seemed like a good one but because : 1. Our NIN got paralyzed and then caused me to get paralyzed as well it took much long to kill the first eye. 2. Rdm got bound so the kiting stratagey goes right out the window when that happens. Any suggestions guys?

We went 3/3 on this BCNM this weekend and I found it to be quite easy really. I will try to be brief here:

NIN/WAR, RDM/WHM, WAR/NIN

RDM sub probably didn't matter that much, but barfira is helpful, and you could replace the WAR/NIN with any DD (monk hits hecteyes just fine for the person that was wondering). We used a few potions the first run, after that 1 au lait for melees, 1 juice for rdm, and those were just for insurance.

Basically run in, buff up, rdm rests mp. Then we ran to the circle, barfira, and rdm bound one of the compounds while I turned around and voked the other compound. Rdm gravitied the Sobbing eye and took off.

I cannot stress the importance of tanking these things backwards. Just spam ninjutsu and put up shadows when needed. Their accuracy sucks and they spam hex eye, so you ususally dont even need Utsu:Ichi. War attacked from behind, and we killed it after 2 elemental wheels.

By this time the second eye was unbound and heading for the rdm. We would catch up and grab him while the rdm continues to kite the Sobbing. 2 more wheels, a WS from the WAR, and we go after the last one.

When we got hate, rdm ran away and converted, then recast barfira. This guy likes to Firaga, so shadows may go down, but now the rdm is there to heal if needed. Try to stay apart so Breakga won't hit everyone. I tanked at range and only got petrified once in the last 2 battles. Maybe 3 elemental wheels on this one depending on if rdm nukes it.

We got no charm, 2 phalanx (140k), and assorted junk from 3 runs. I was kinda disappointed, but it was fun to try a new BC. If you just want to make money though, I'd personally suggest doing other BCNMs for Erase and Ni.

So to recap strategy, bind one, gravity kite another, and always tank backwards with shadows. After a practice run to get a feel for it, you should be able to win every time.

Simple

Using RNG RNG RDM simply wont work anymore, the paralasis and damage to distance change screws you up way too much.

So instead use RDM NIN <generic DD>, we used SAM. NIN tanks one of the compunds with his back to it, spams the elemental wheel and debuffs and blink. SAM womps the hell outta the eye, they'll die in about 3-4 swings and a WS. RDM binds the big guy takes off running then gravities the little one. By the time the big one unbinds and makes it up to the RDM you should have the first compound dead or really close to dead. Run down and grab the second compound and do the same thing until it's dead. RDM keeps kiting the Sobbing with bind and gravity until the 2 DDs finish off the second eye, then you run down the third and just beat the hell out of it. If you can make it to the third guy you've allready won. Keep barfira up and his firaga will do maybe 100 damage at most, the ninja keeps his back and spamming those spells and you can just destroy the thing. Our fastest time was a little under 5 minutes.

You can replace SAM with any standard DD except maybe MNK because I dont' know how much damage they do on hecteyes, although they don't seem anywhere near as resistant to melee as normal oozes. Even DRG can do this fight well. You'll need a ninja and a RDM though, you can't sub those out unless you're using BSTs

Spread this strategy far and wide because I want peacock charms to be dirt cheap
