It's weird, once I had 7 stones on me, sorted. She didn't say she needed it. Then I sorted and split it into a group of 4 and 3 individuals. Talked to her again, and then she accepted it. I didn't check the time, but I think it might be dependant on whether you have a ready stack of 4 or not.

i have camped on this lady for this quest. here are my findings.

she will only accept one batch at a time... this means if there are four of you camping then only one of you will complete the quest. forget being able to zone in and out.

i have seen 0800 hours and 1600 hours...

so as our astute Anon college pointed out flint is cheap. however my time is not priceless so i will not repeat this quest.

I also did this quest at just after 1600.

Between killing land worms for leveling and bats for zehrun soot, I had enough flint for this quest, zinc ore for shady business, and zehrun soot for the zehrun sweeper.

The exact time period is between 4 and 5, altho some days of the week (vana diel time of course) she wants them from 4 to 6
different times

It isnt just in the morning, its at different times.

I stood by her a while and she seems to start needing them for a little while at 5:00 and 12:00, which suggests she is cooking for breakfast and lunch. As others have suggested there is an evening one too, but I don't have the time for that.

You need to turn the flint stones at EARLY MORNING!!!

If you try at night she won't tak them.

A good way to tell if she actually needs them is to talk to her. If she needs the flint stones she will tell you otherwise, she will talk about her husband going off to war or something like that.

The flint stones drop from Tunnel and Stone worms, about 1 in 10 drops one.

Does anyone know where Aquilina is exactly located? I've been looking all over for her for like at least 2 hours in Bastok and I still haven't seen here (mind you, this is at night). So, if anyone has an info, please post it here. Thanks.

Aquilina is inside a house, in the kitchen. If you're standing by the fountain looking down the canal, so the entrance to the mines is off to your right, she's on the second to the last house on the left side.

Or put another way, run past the Goldsmith Guild and the Jewelers and she's the second to the last house along that lane.

but ONLY once a night... if you hand her 4... and then you tried to again ... surpise, suprise.. she no longer needs them.

Until the following night when her husband is out yet again leaving her in the dark :P

Strange, I've not had any luck with the flint stone turn ins yet. I've obviously tried them at night as suggested and she never needs any more when I try. Do I have to open the quest up with some dialogue first?

Yes, like with all quests, you have to talk to her first to get it. But when you have already done it before, you can repeat it without talking to her again.

Sorry for double post...thought I caught it in time.

hm, perhaps she will only accept one batch of flint per night period... Regardless on who gives it to her.
#Anonymous, Posted: Nov 12 2003 at 6:14 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) dude, like with every other repetable quest, turn 4 in, zone, turn 4 in, zone, repeat

this would be a good comment if it was correct. unfortunately, zoning does not work.
