Description

To begin with, you need access to Lufaise Meadows, granted after you complete the first 3 Promyvion missions. It would also be good if everyone bound in Port Bastok to save time. Having a BLM sub for Warp, a BLM to Warp II, or Instant Warp scrolls would be a big plus too. After that:

First talk to Rudolfo at the AH in Rabao, then head over to Zoriboh on the opposite end of Rabao near the lake to actually start the quest. He'll want you to look for a girl named Sanctia in Norg.

Upon arriving in Norg, head up the stairs and in the first door on your left. You need to talk to Sohyon. He will ask you to bring him a drink. Next talk to Washu, who is standing behind him. She will give you the key item "Washu's Flask."

Later in this quest you will need 5 Eastern Gems. You can get them now or when you return to Norg with the water. Eastern Gems are dropped off of Stream and River Sahagin in Yuhtunga Jungle just outside the Sea Serpent Grotto. They are all level 34-38, so plan accordingly. If you need a place to pull to I suggest one of the caves behind the waterfalls. Just be sure to keep the Makara clear. Each person doing the quest will need 5 Eastern Gems. This is by far the worst part of this quest.

When you're ready head for Korroloka Tunnel. Here you need to find 4 Giant Clams to fill your flask from. The locations are as follows (pos is useless for this as they are all on different maps):

- From the Zeruhn Mines zone, take the first left and follow this tunnel to its end. - Head back the way you came and cross the bridge to the other side. Take the right hand fork. Follow this path and take the first right. - Head back again. Take the FAR LEFT exit on this map. Just follow the long room until you see it. Keep following this path straight and you will run right into the clam. - For the last clam, head back again. Cross the bridge this time, and take the first left.

Congratulations, you now have a key item: Flask of Clam Water.

Return to Norg and talk to Sohyon again. He will give you a key item : "Storeroom Key" and tell you to talk to Gimb, who is the Galka standing next to the Chocobo guy. At this point, get your Eastern Gems if you don't have them yet. When you're ready, warp back to Bastok.

Go to the Tenshodo Warehouse in Port Bastok (it's the one on the left). Head inside and talk to Kagetora, who is standing in the corner of the room. After the cutscene head downstairs and out the door to talk to Patient Wheel. Trade your Eastern Gems to him. When you are given a reply option, choose "I want information."

IMPORTANT: Make sure everyone has a warp scroll or can warp at this point, because you will want to get back as quickly as possible (out of sheer exhaustion).

Next stop: Selbina. Outpost Teleport if you can, or just grab a chocobo. You need to talk to the Mayor of Selbina. He's in the house at the top of the hill on the far right side of the map. Once you've talked to him, head to the Swirling Vortex at Siren Sands.

Enter the Vortex and you will receive a cutscene once you enter Lufaise Meadows. When Sanctia asks you questions, choose "That's why I'm here" and "Zoriboh." Once the cutscene is over you can warp back to Bastok.

Last stop: Rabao. Talk to Zoriboh again to complete your quest. You will receive 4000 gil and a Venerer's Ring.

Zone out, zone back and speak to Zoriboh again. If your fame is high enough, you will be granted “The Search for Goldmane” quest.

Ok, You can easily save yourself an extra trip to Norg. When you go there the first time to retrieve the flask for the Clams, take some time and go farm the Sahagins for the Eastern Gems. This way you don't have to go to Bastok and realize you have to go back to Norg again. The Gems also sell at AH for 5k-10 each. If you are thrifty like me, then you will go farm them. I went as a 52 Thf, with another 52 Thief, and we got ten in an hour or two.

That's THTHTH2TH2 all stacked together =P
gems are ~4.5k each on Lakshmi, took all of 5 minutes to get them all off AH ^^b, with the quest as long as it is already I didn't fancy farming anymore. Price will probably go up slightly as people find out about this.

Fastest way (if you're a whm/blm anyways) is probably:
HP in Bastok
Tele-Altep
Tele-Yhot
Warp
Tele-Yhot again
Warp again
Tele-Dem

Took me about 3 hours for the whole thing, although I did have to take the airship the 2 Kazham legs. Much of that time was spent looking for the clams. I was in a rush to finish this before prices plumet, but it looks like it's holding steady at 160-170k each ring.

for those who cry that ppl now know the quest... start using ur brain...

not everyone has completed all 3 Promyvion mission at this level, and it isnt repeatable i think

the ring is better then archer ring, and due to no -10 def not so much worse then sniper ring.

and how many ppl know where archer rings come from? -nearly all

and is the price low? no, 500-600k an archer ring, and they are lot of easier to get and repeatable

Archer's rings are expensive because they are crafted into Sniper's rings, and because gilsellers camp them 24/7 and constantly jack up the price. Gilsellers wouldn't waste their time doing this quest, so natural supply and demand will govern the price. The price should still be high though, simply because any accuracy is in high demand by melee DDs.
crap

Yeah, "Chasing Dreams" totally explains that I should
1) Talk to Rudolfo at the AH in Rabao, then head over to Zoriboh on the opposite end of Rabao to actually start the quest. He'll tell you to look for the girl in Norg.

2) Head down the hallway in Norg that leads to the leader-dude of Norg, and take the first door on your left. You'll see 3 guys at a table, talk to the guy on the right side of the table. After this, talk to the lady standing behind him and she'll give you a key item.

3) Head to Korroloka Tunnel and find the 4 giant clams there. Return to Norg and give him the water (just talk to him), and he'll then tell you to go talk to the Galka next to the chocobo in Norg.

4) Your destination after this is Port Bastok, the Tenshodo warehouse. Talk to the man in the right-hand corner from the main entrance, and he'll mention 5 Eastern gems.

5) Leave the warehouse through the back door after talking with the guy in the right-hand corner, and talk to the Galka NPC that's facing into a corner with boxes. He'll mention that he needs the 5 Eastern Gems that are dropped by second-tier sahagins in Sea Serpent Grotto. You can also buy them on the AH, they're going for 9k a pop on Bismarck. Once you get those, trade them to him and tell him you want information. He'll tell you to head to Selbina (more or less).

6) Talk to the mayor of Selbina, and he'll mention the Lufaise Meadows zone from Valkurm Dunes. Take the swirling vortex from Valkurm Dunes to Lufaise Meadows, where you'll get a cutscene. I don't know if the answer you choose affects how much gil or not, but I chose that Zoriboh sent me to find her. (This got me 4k gil and a Venerer Ring)

7) You're done! Head back to Rabao and talk to Zoriboh to receive your reward, a nice shiny Venerer Ring!
