One of the Chocobos in the stables has taken ill. Kuoh Rhel has asked the Mithran apothecary to make her "secret cure-all medicament" for the sick bird, but when you go to pick it up, the apothecary says she is lacking one of the ingredients...

Talk to Kuoh Rhel in the Chocobo stables to begin this quest. She needs you to fetch some medicine to cure a sick chocobo. Talk to Tapoh Lihzeh. She will tell you that they are out of the sprig of Papaka Grass needed for the medicine. You can find some by killing Wild Dhalmels in Tahrongi Canyon. Bring the grass back to Tapoh and get the medicine, then return to Kuoh Rhel to complete the quest and get your reward.

Taking pictures omw to Tapoh Lihzeh (I-8)(Windurst Woods): Traveling North East passing Dhalmel Farm, take a right and travel East to fork in the road. Choose right again, traveling South. Tapoh Lihzeh is right there in the street selling drugs, ah, I mean potions.

I just did this quest and here is the walkthrough.

1) Talk to Kuoh Rhel at the chocobo stables in Windurst Woods. She is outside to the left. Talk to her and she will ask if you will help.

2) Go talk to Tapoh Lihzeh (I-8) also in Windurst Woods. She will ask you to bring her some Papaka Grass.

3) Trade Tapoh Lihzeh one sprig of Papaka Grass and she will instruct you to talk to Kuoh Rhel at the chocobo stables.

4) Talk to Kuoh Rhel and she will thank you and give you 1500 gil.

To my knowlegde this quest is not repeatable.

Papaka Grass can be found in the Auction House under Materials -> Alchemy. Estimated cost: 200 gil.

Just so everyone knows this quest has no minimum level. I was able to do it with my level 1 mule. So you are not required to be level 10 to do it.

Not sure but my fame is pretty crappy in Windy, (never checked it but have only completed 4 quests there). Yet, I was able to take this quest. I have not completed it but I was able to recieve it so maybe the Fame requirement is posted a little high.

I'm not sure what the Fame requirement is.

Why waste your time trying to find this item from chocobo digging? Costed me 90 gil at Windy AH ... probably even less if I /tell'd a friend in another country to Price Check lol.
I made a profit either way. Save your time, just AH it. Oh and if you're smart (unlike I was when I accidently got this quest) you'd buy it at the AH prior to walking all the way to the mithras that live on the other side of the damn map !
Walking is such a chore it seems in Windy! lol

Choco Digs

You can also get the grass by digging with your chocobo in East Sarutabaruta. I got 2 of them (among other things) out of 9 digs.

I attempted to repeat this quest right after finishing it, but she replied "Once my little chocobo friend here is back on his feet again, I intend to spoil him with his favorrrite treat!". I looked in Current quests and "Chocobilious" was not listed. Hope this helps.

Kuoh Rhel asks you to go to the Apothecary (Tapoh Lihzeh, I-8) and ask what's the hold up with the medicine. When you go to Tapoh, she's the one who asks for the Papaka Grass (Listed under Alchemy in AH, bought mine for 100gil). Give the grass to Tapoh, then she says to go back to Kuoh and tell her to hang on just a bit longer. Go back to Kuoh for your reward.
Can't get the Quest
# Dec 18 2003 at 12:29 PM Rating: Default
I have noticed that when you talk to NPC's for a quest and they don't give it to you, it might be because you have the items they require for the quest ON you already. This doesn't happen with ALL quests, just some. Example: Rycharde (in Mhaura) won't give you his 2nd quest if you already have a Beehive chip, and a Dhalmel Meat on you. I tested this by talking to him while having those items, getting NO quest. Then I threw away those items, and he gave the quest to me.
So when you an NPC wont give you the quest it might be bacause you have the items needed already.

BTW - as far as I have noticed you CAN have the items in your Mogsafe when getting the quest, just not on you.

that's not true...the reason why someone might not give it to you maybe because of one, two, or three reasons. Your level did not reach minimum requirement. You fame does not meat minimum requirement. And the last reason maybe because of miscellaneous stuff. Like you need to have an item, or you need to complete another quest first, or you need to wait. But it will NEVER be because you have the items. In the Rychard cook's case...you just need to wait 2 game days before it lets you give behive chip and dhamel meat..after giving 2 dhamel meat for the other quest.

Very few quests have a minimum level requirement. Advanced jobs, Chocobo License, Subjob..Think that's about it. Most of the time the problem is your lack of fame, though sometimes there are prerequisite quests.

You can have the items on you. I did the Rycharde quest, and had the beehive chip and other piece of dhalmel meat on me, didn't get it. Came back couple days later, still with stuff on me, got it.

I've done Rycharde's puffball quest the same way.

I can't count the number of quests i've done with having the stuff on me before hand.

Saves alot of time and efforct to plan ahead and do 2 or 3 quests at once by getting the stuff ahead of time.

I had about 15 quests completed, I was using my level 3 subjob as a mainjob at the time, and he gave the quest. Went to Auction House, bought the grass for 100, and completed the quest.
Okay..Here's HOW..
# Nov 22 2003 at 4:21 AM Rating: Default
Okay so here's the deal. You do need 10 completed quests done to get this quest in the first place. The "sprig of papraka grass" you can only get from dhalmel in tahrongi canyon. At about lvl 20, you can easily take these. Once you get the quest, take it to the pharmacy (I-7) right near the dhalmel farms. Talk to the guy there, and give him the item. He tells u to tell Kohl to wait a little longer. Go back to her, and she will give u the reward.
cant do it
