Mission Orders

Prishe has been taken to Doctor Monberaux's clinic! What ails her fragile body and what, if anything, can save her!?

Walkthrough

Go to Upper Jeuno's Infirmary and talk to Monberaux. Proceed to Lower Jeuno Neptune Spire and go into Tenshodo and talk to Ghebi Damomohe (I-7). She'll ask you to bring one of the 3 chips that can be obtained from Pso'Xja.

(Rare/Ex) Carmine Chip - Snow Lizard or Frost Lizard [Etoh: I got my chip from this, at a no-level-cap Pso'Xja from Beaucidine Tower (F-7) where Nue spawns. They drop pretty easily...gotten all 6 for my PT in 2 hours. Decent Challenge to LV75]

(Rare/Ex)Gray Chip - Diremite Stalkers (at Tower near Ranguemont), Diremite Assaulters, Diremite

(Rare/Ex) Cyan Chip - Treasure Chest Mimics

Bring either one of the above chips back to Ghebi Damomohe and trade to her to get a key item and 500g reward. Go to Beaucedine and enter Pso'Xja via (H-8) tower (near outpost guards) which has a Level 40 cap.

-From entrance, go straight until you reach a circular plaza. Head to the branch northward and you'll see a Red Warp (H-7)

-After the Red warp, turn right and walk straight ahead to Black Warp (I-7)

-Walk westward to the 2nd room, turn left and walk thru a Red Warp (H-7)

-After Red Warp, turn right and walk straight ahead to Black Warp (I-7)

-Go west to the 2nd room and turn left to reach the Elevator area.

-Head north, turn left and down a flight of stairs to a Stone Gate where you click to use your Key Item gotten earlier on in Jeuno to enter the Shrouded Maw BC holding area.

While it sounds repetitive, this is the correct way of navigating Pso'Xja. So its a hint that it could be quite mazy. Mobs like Gazers and Snowballs will aggro at your level so take caution.

Once you've reached the Shrouded Maw, do the necessary preps and click on the 'Memento Circle' to enter boss fight. In here you'll fight the familiar Diabolos in FF series. Diabolos is fairly easy to battle with if your tankers have ninjaa ninja sub. You should have no problem getting it down to half HP. He has a AOE Sleep attack called Nightmare that even drinking Posion is hard to counter so your melee will need to stun him when he readies this. Have your White Mage cast Barsleepra before the fight because he also casts Sleepga.

Once his HP reaches a certain level, Diabolos will start to remove the flooring tiles away in the battle arena! Now you have to be very careful of this, because if you are standing on the tile that he casts away, you'll drop down to the basement below where a SWARM of Diremites are waiting to gobble you up (instant death)! So if you are standing on the wrong tile, it's ADIOS! There are 2 Ways to tell which tiles are going to Drop. The 1st Way is to know every possible combination of tiles that drop. The layout of the Arena goes like this:

O O B O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O

where 'B' indicates the initial position of Diabolos.

There are 3 patterns that Diabolos will remove the flooring:

O O O X X O X O O O O X O X O O O O X O X X O O O

O X O X O O O O O O O O X O O X O X O X X O O O X

X O O O X O O X O O X O O O X O O X O O X O O O X

So eliminating all possible pitfalls, we are left with the safest spots (marked with O) indicated below:

X X O X X O X X O O X X X X X X O X X X X X O O X

The Second is that your shadow will not be cast on tiles that drop. So if your standing on a tile and have the time check to see if your shadow is on it as well. This is because SE does not feel its nessssary to render shadows on moving objects, or objects with animations.

Diabolos also has a WS that causes a knock-back effect, which unfortunately if you are standing on a isolated tile, will cause you to drop down to oblivion. If you can find a wall at the arena sides to face your back on, you can prevent the knockback from pushing you down. Recommended fighting positions for melee (*) and mages (#) are:

X X # X X O x x O O X X X X X X O X X X X X * * X

Defeating Diabolos will earn you a title. Return to Upper Jeuno to talk to Monberaux doctor at Upper Jeuno Infirmary to finish this chapter and earning another title.

SECRET FOR FIRST RUN SUCCESS!
# Feb 09 2006 at 4:49 AM Rating: Decent
Have done this multiple times, various combos. Easiest, most trouble free pt setup: Nin, Drk, Sam, Whm, Whm, Blm. Loaded Nin with hipots (10+). Took positions as recommended, didnt worry about draw in. Drk and Sam alternated stun, and only stunned Nightmare (totally ignored sleep, sleepga, camisado, etc). Whm's kept barsleep up, and helped on any spells not stunned.. Idea was solely DOT, no sc's etc. Way it turned out: perfect>> all nightmares stunned (4x), hate never lost by nin (he healed himself, no one else needed healing period), heck, we didnt even have to bother with 2hrs. SECRET FOR FIRST RUN SUCCESS: any day but darksday, ONLY STUN NIGHTMARE, and Tank loads up on hipots.

The information lists the Florid Stone as the reward for this quest. I don't think that's right. I got this while farming chips in Pso'Xja. I believe it is the item needed to obtain the key item for the ENM Test your Mite, but not sure about that. The Florid Stone wasn't even mentioned by any of the NPCs.

Also, beat Diabolos easily with NIN/WAR, DRK/BLM (for extra Stun MP), BLM/WHM (me!), WHM/BLM, RDM/BLM and SMN/WHM. SMN got 3 Astral Flows off, which did huge amounts of damage to it.

It is a reward from the Diabolos fight as well as a drop from the lizards.

In order to get the Carmine Chip, enter Pso'xja from the tower in Beaucedine Glacier at F-7. Go through the hall, take the first right, and drop down the hole (make sure to use Sneak first).

If you go a little further there are some Snow Lizards that you can pull to one of the 2 empty rooms (Carbuncle pull works great) and fight them there.

If you go to the room on the right there are some Frost Lizards that you can pull from above if you get right next to the hole. These are quite a bit harder than the Snow Lizards, so take care.

Both types of lizards seem to have a good drop rate so it shouldn't take too long to get everyone their chips. Neither type of lizard is really that hard either. I did this with just me (WHM75/SMN37) and a friend (WHM75/NIN37). Good luck! ^^

There was barely any info on how to obtain the chips in the user comments.. I found one post out of all them that even mentioned the chips. :/ Luckily my friend online managed to explain it.

No problem
# Jan 24 2006 at 1:25 PM Rating: Decent
For all of you that say you "MUST" have a drk and nin, you're wrong. My pt set up was pld(me), war/nin, blm, rdm, whm, and rng. Our only problem was the one nightmare he got off. We still all survived through it and won. Every nightmare that came up, I flat bladed or the war used smash axe. The rng also had stun bullets which helped. We also enfeebled Diabolos like crazy cause of the rdm(sleep, paralyze, dia, etc.). Anyway, Nin's and drk's are not needed for this.
slow!
# Jan 19 2006 at 2:13 PM Rating: Decent
My advice for this fight is to go slow! this goes for everyone in the PT! There's no need to do "Uber" damage on this guy.

PT setup was WHM, WHM, RDM, MNK, NIN, SAM (me)

Buff, Metitate (wait for timer) then we started.

*Important* - Let your tank get a good amount of hate before using high lvl cures or nukes. If Diabolos goes out of melee range and casts nightmare, it's gonna cause some trouble

The fight itself went very well. No one used WS except to stun his nightmare... and that went like this:
Tachi: Hobaku > meditate
Tachi: Hobaku > Meikyo Shisui (threw in a couple of Tachi: Enpi, because it was the monk's turn next.
Shoulder Tackle
Tachi: Hobaku > meditate.... but didn't need it.. he died

no one even approached being yellow (aside from a RDM convert) and WHMS had tons of mana left over.

So, the moral is: Don't try too hard! Don't spam nukes or TP, and just whittle him away ^^

#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 19 2006 at 10:16 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Well, I can honestly say that this fight was very easy when you take COMPETENT people with you. Here is what I mean:
#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 16 2006 at 9:56 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) So I take the above advice and decide to go farm my chip solo. Enter Pso'Xa by Nue, drop down the hole on the east, and aggro a diremite. Ep @75. So I kill it, and lo and behold!: Theres my grey chip. And to think I was doing this to occupy time...
Finally . . . 1/6 (i think)

WHM/BLM (me)
WHM/BLM
RDM/BLM
WAR/NIN (tank)(yay Cel)
RNG/NIN
MNK/WAR

We've been at this for a while. While a lot of the strats suggested using stunners for Nightmare, I'll say that sounds like a good idea. We tried that . . . without having any devoted stunners, and guess what? It didn't work. We tried it WHM,WHM,RNG,RNG,RDM,WAR/NIN with stun bullets, which did stun. But it hardly worked becuase of the delay of the ranged attack and the quickness at which Nightmare gets off. It would have worked if both rng's used stun bullets constantly and in off patterns with each other, but then they were the DD's and stun bullets do near to no damage.

Anyway, we finally beat him on earthsday with no dark weather effect. He actually DOESN"T nightmare off the bat. He only does 3 times in the battle, none of which were stunned. Sleepga was stunned twice because our monk was jumpy. War/Nin tanked it beautifully (GO Cel!). Though the two Whm's were needed for the healing, especially the Erases after nightmare (20+ per tick Bio). Only one set of tiles ended up dropping, though in other battles we had up to 2 drop. Never did the far nort-west corner drop though, and that is a good place for the Rdm to stand so that they can wake the mages from nightmare. Barsleepra prooved to be VITAL. Most of the times I came out of sleep after 2-5 seconds and quickly curaga'd or otherwise to wake others. Hate was well plastered on the War that even my Benediction drew only one hit on me. The other Whm did benediction and didn't get hate, but missed the war anyway and so I had to. We barely did it, but we did it. A lot of Potions, Ethers, Yag drinks, use of Icarus wings. I'm sure a Nin tank and another DD would have made it go much smother, but Cel's hate holding abilities are second to none I've seen (given that after 2 back to back Benedictions only drew Diablos away for 1 hit). We attempted once to go in on Lightsday and had double water (i believe) weather effect. He nightmared from the get go and took us out one by one. We fought him on Darksday once and he didn't nightmare until 50% HP and then he spammed them. We even had used a nin tank once and the ninja died very quickly after a nightmare, which doesn't wake you if you get hit. He used nightmare on us on average of about 6 times each attempt, except for the one where our War got knocked down into the pit and that one nightmare took us out. When we had our NIN tank, the nin died after one nightmare and the War/Nin tanked it until about 10% HP, but it was a long and painful battle that finally took its toll and killed us.

If you don't have good stun tactics, Barsleep (it does help). Make sure to have Erase. Try and have 2 whm's just becuase of the Eraseing after Nightmare. Erase order Whm's > Tank > Melee > other Mages.

If you have stun and a good tactic, it shouldn't be a problem.

EDIT: If you are still Nightmared or Bio'ed when you win, you will come out of the level cap area with Bio still. I almost died from this. If you die, you get XP penalty equal to your uncapped level and not the level 40 penalty. Otherwise, you lose XP as if you were level 40.

Hi everyone =P I'm Wolvine from Leviathan server.

I'm not even gonna say that Diabolos is a push over... WHY??? Simply because I beat this guy with 5 people "Onry", JP Style..lol =)

(Nin<~me,Pld,Sam,Whm,Smn)I don't know how we did it, but we DID IT!... We didn't have our 2 hrs anymore at this time (Except the Smn) cuz it was our 3rd battle and our medicines have ran out...

We actually started of with 6 people at first, full loaded with medicines and our 2 hrs...(Mnk<~me,Pld,Sam,Whm,Smn & Blm).. 1st run was a tryout run so everyone gets the feel of it then 2nd run we got our asses handed to us for some reason =(... This time I decided to change to ninja but the blm logged out on us so we just said w/e we'll try it with 5 people... I'm not gonna get into the details of how we did it, but we took the **** out...

Just wanna say Excellent Job!!! to the people that did it with me... Great Job!!! for not giving up.. :D Reason i say this its cuz our whm died while diabolos still had 85% left and he pulled nightmare on us @ 90%HP.. our sam missed to stun him but we still got lucky for some strange reason... Good thing Whm had RR up.. =D

Peace! I'm OUT!

crazy...
# Jan 01 2006 at 3:47 AM Rating: Decent
1/10. This mission got on my nerves. Not as much as the mammet fight, but enough to just go crazy. PT setup was: Blm (me), whm, smn, thf, mnk, and pld. We had no stun spells, but the melee did a great job of stunning Nightmare with their Stun WS. Last run we were going to do: dark weather (we didn't want to wait any longer for it to wear off), and it was lightsday. Everything was going good, melee stunned Nightmare, whm healed, i enfeebed. Paralyze works really well on him. He went to cast Sleep 2 but was paralyzed, and his next attack was paralzyed after that. I manafonted when he was at 40% health so i could do all the enfeebs again and nuke. whm runs out of mp. uh oh. smn is busy bliz 2ing him... thf uses perfect dodge as pld and mnk go down. diabolos is at 20% health now and kills the whm. i tell the smn to 2hr, she does, Diamond Dust for 558 dmg. He is now at 5% hp, i use my super ether > stonga 2 his ***** hes at 1% hp, he crit. hits me for 225, i have 28 hp left, thf is still alive has about 16hp left, thf goes up behind diabolos while hes one hit away from killing me, thf hits diabolos for 3 points of dmg. he defeats it. everyone shats their pants (even me) and we all dance for awhile, then warp and get our c/s. ^^ Big thanks to: Faore (whm), Liquidz (thf), Cuteguy (mnk), Medea (smn), and Umaamhina (pld)

WoW, I just did this fight today... what a pushover.
Setup: WHM WHM SMN BLM NIN SAM
SAM: Just Meditate @ start. and wait a few minutes. Your gonna have plenty of time to kill him. Sam can use WS @ start, but after that, he should save TP incase 'HE' tries to ready Nightmare. Tachi: Hobako is the WS he uses. ONLY! When he stun's 1st one, Meikyo Shisui. and just stun him.
WHM: Protectra II, Shellra, Barsleepra, Reraise (wasn't needed), and Full rest. When ran in there, Elemental Seal + Silence. When 1st ran out, other WHM did it. Erase if u get hit w/ Nightmare... but you shouldn't.....
BLM: Elemental Seal + Paralze @ start. GO SLOW ON NUKES BECAUSE YOU WILL PWN HIS FACE AND DIE WHEN U GET AGGRO! At like 20%, Stonega II.
NIN: He attacks kind of fast, so do your best for shadows. Equip SWORD in main hand for FLAT BLADE, which = stun. Dont even use Until you see him ready Nightmare. Bring around 7 or so Hi-pots, incase his Camisado pwns you.
SMN: Blood Pact Ramuh @ start. For Paralyze. Then random BP's until 50%. Get Shiva out, Astral Flow, PWN HIS FACE! Rest, and PWN him again.

Insta win, good luck!
Ninja....pffft

I want to say this to offer other ways of doing this.First my set up was (PLD-me DRG MNK SMN SMN RNG)

Getting there was a small hassel due to our RNG and 1 of the SMN being below 50 in the glacier.Once we got to the BC we buffed and healed MP.The mages had brought the usual MP drink and refresh drink. All the melee had hi pot's,including me.I used a momento muffler and ate a sole sushi as I didnt have gil for proper tank food.I spent it all on my RSE hands and hi pots.(Mithra Pally will pwn you)I also brought 2 Yag drinks with me though I only needed 1.
We get drawn in and I imediately begin tanking him as a normal mob.At this level cap he hits no harder than an exp mob.He got off his sleep spells quite often on me but PLD's resist sleep trait helped out as it lasted no more than 2 seconds on me.I ended up waking the SMN's once or twice. His multi status drain move was a pain in the *** though it didnt really seem to help him.He seemed to spam that most.He removed a few titles but he never got off a nightmare. Our DRG always had leg sweep ready and the MNK had his shoulder tackle ready.I even got in a Shield Bash when the MNK missed his WS.well, after the first Nightmare The leader,DRG,hollered for 1 SMN to 2hr.Then for the second SMN to do like wise after the second nightmare.AFter that we had to make sure Nightmare stayed Stunned.Other than AoE's no one except me took any damage from him.I think I may have went down to orange but my own healing magic,hi pot's,and a few cures from the SMN's pulled us through. If the RNG or MNK used 2hr I honestly can't say.The text went by too fast and if they did they did not use macros.Like others say keep him stunned,do massive amounts of damage to him,and for the tank, put your *** in over drive and keep his attention focussed on you.You are there to take the *** whoopin. If you must use your 2hr by all means push that button.

Just to brag a bit. When we finished this and got back to Jeuno, all of our friends shat themselves to hear we won with the setup we had and so easily. The main thing they ask was "you didn't Ninja or Dark Knight?"We told them "pfft DRK? no" and "Ninja? Pfft too weak"Being a PLD I hate Ninja's anyway.Let their shadows drop and see how long he lasts. No we didn't break the record but who cares? We won and thats what counts. All kept a cool head on them and I beleive that is what helped us out the most.I will give the devil his due.A good ninja is just as good I guess, but in a pinch a nija can not save your *** from certain death.

Moral here is come well prepared and to treat this fight as though you are actually there fighting for your life.Get into that mind set.Picturing yourself as a soldier is a great mental prep. The tank <NIN or PLD> as an armored assault vehicle. The DD's as infantry. The WHM's (if you got them)as the main support/medics.The RMD or BLM's and RNG as the air assualt team. And the SMN,depending on set up,as a support unit or part of the air assualt team. But look at the whole team as special forces on a seek and destroy mission. This is how we looked at it and it seemd to help us stay calm and get the win.
good team

lmao we just beat this on our "dry" run. I got lucky and had a good team of stunners. they got all the nightmares but the last one... did you know that if you get nightmare inside and then go outside and die then you lose xp for your level 75 characer >.> that's BS ; ;

We had some issues with this guy, but just to give you guys a heads up.

When you enter the BC.. make sure it isnt darksday, then check to make sure theres isnt a dark weather effect up, it makes Diabolos cranky.

Silence is very helpful so make sure it sticks on him, it wont last long so keep watching it, paralyze and slow are awesome also.

Diabolos is sleepable! You might be thinking "Okay and I care why?" Well I'll tell you why, Sleeping Diabolos allows the tank a few more vokes and to get his bearing after being drawn in, it also allows for him to be debuffed a little and some MP to be regained before you take him on. Plus.. for some reason seeing a NM getting slept just makes him seem so much weaker.

I recommend (as I have with all CoP missions.. you bring Regen drinks, or make sure the mages keep regen on everyone)

Nightmare can come at any time, so be ready. I noticed out of the 4 times I've fought him that he likes to drop the tiles right as he Nightmares the first time, why? Easy, he does his knock back move right after, he is smart, trying to catch you off gaurd. He drops the tiles, knocks you back off the tiles your on and viola he wins, right? Wrong, keep them backs against the wall, and on the tile all the time.

Stun nightmare! It's been said over and over again, I've seen him do it as little as 1 time and as much as 7 times, a good DRK can stun him everytime, Also take note: Stun CAN be resisted, It happened to us and because Stun didnt stun Nightmare it caused a lot of trouble. Also if one Nightmare gets threw it doesnt mean the death of your PT.

In the case a Nightmare does get threw.. DON'T PANIC! Panicing is what kills your PT, not Nightmare, Nightmare is powerful, scary even, but keep a cool head and help the WHM out so they can Erase all Bio effects and not have to worry about people dying.

BLM, wake up the WHM, PLEASE, cure does wake up ppl from Nightmare, a few times instead of curing the WHM the BLM would ensue nuking, therefor getting hate and dying.

If you are backup healing, your time to shine is when Nightmare comes, wake WHM, regen everyone you can, toss a few cures on the tank.

This should help! Good luck with him, he's a jerk.

1st one was dry run... 2nd one we try win, we did 2 hr 1 % HP. and wiped.
(right after - no 2 hr's)
3rd time, I remember reading here to silence.
So right off the bat I ES + Silence. It stuck.
and Started nuking with low lvl nukes, me as blm. Fire and Blizzard seems most effective.
I have to Admit, this one is damn easy if you silence and have stun rdy. Used 1 yagudo drink and 1 pro-ether as blm. The key is Silence, no sleep, no aspir, no drain, no bio XD
PT setup was whm/blm/bst/sam/rng/nin

Just beat him on first attempt. Silencing him is definitely key. Also, having melee that are paying attention to stun. My thunder/thundaga spells seemed to do best damage on him, and we used Ramuh for Astral Flow. Not even our dragoon's wyvern died in this battle. ^.^ Thanks for the tip. =)
my Winning Party Setup

19 posts
My party had 2 War/nin, 2 Whm/blm, 1 Rng/nin, and 1 Rdm/blm. The key to win this fight is to keep party awake when its Nightmare hits and here is how to avoid being slept.

1) ***Very important*** Check the floor pattern from above the arena before you drop down. The ones that will be removed have darkened raised edge around them. If it is floor pattern 1 and 2, you are good. If it is floor pattern 3, try to get out if you can, because you would have hard time with this.

D = Diabolos initial position
O O D O O
O O O O O
O O O O O
O O O O O
O O O O O

Floor pattern 1: x = floor that will drop

O O O X X
O X O O O
O X O X O
O O O X O
X X O O O

Floor pattern 2:

O X O X O
O O O O O
O O X O O
X O X O X
X O O O X

Floor pattern 3: Get out!

X O O O X
O O X O O
X O O O X
O O X O O
X O O O X

2) So, here is where party members stand

* = all mages stand here
# = all melees (tank, etc) stand here
D = Diabolos position after tank(s) voke

* O O O O
O O O O O
O O O O O
O O O D O
O O O # O

Our fight: (We had Floor Pattern 2)
3) Before fight, all drank a Poison potion to prevent normal Sleepga

4) Our Rdm stood at the upper-most left corner edge as much as possible at all time. We found out that with the above standing position, the mages were too far to be able to cast Cure on melees. So, we had Rdm standing at the upper-most left corner to cast Silence on Diabolos and to wake up the other 2 Whm when Nightmare hit. If you do this right, the Rdm will NEVER be hit by Nightmare but the other 2 Whm will.

5) Fight started. One tank voked and all melees moved to their positions. Melees needed to stand as close to the wall as possible, meaning the most bottom part of floor tile. Diabolos had Knock-back ability.

6) All mages moved to their position and Rdm casted Silence. Rdm needed to constantly try to Silence Diabolos.

7) We 2 War/nin 15 sec alternate provoke. We used WS at the beginning at will. Ranger did normal attack and TP attack.

8) When its first Nightmare hit, we started to save TP for Stun WS. Rdm woke up Whm. Whm needed to remove Bio effect from Nightmare right away.

9) Win! That is it!

We did 2 diablos runs last night, and a high level mnk wore a formor tunic we had gotten subligar farming so she didn't have to rebuy jujitsu, also we were going to eat sushi and not wear our snipers, due to his mass darkness attacks.

Anyhow we noticed something strange, while wearing the tunic, she woke immediatly from all sleep moves, including nightmare has anyone else found this cloak to have an extremely strong resist sleep?

My guess is that the MNK was waking up early due to the type of Sushi that was used. Most of the sushi dishes have a "Resist Sleep" trait to them.

No this was not the case. both DDs ate the same sushi type(sole) in fact in one run she was paierd with a sam, who had identical gear with the exception of Jujitsu Gi and Merc.capt.Mask
I hate this >,<

after reading about how easy you guys said it was, I was pretty confident with my party.

Well as of now i have lost 5/5 times today, deleveled to 74, and spent a good 150k in the process.

I layed out the battle plan and stressed the importance of stun. The first time we went as
smn/whm(me), drk/nin, brd/whm, blm/whm, pld/war, and mnk/war.

The fight was going well until he got a nightmare off, it went downhill.

2nd try was with the same people, we got it really close to death this time but lost due to not stunning a nightmare at the end.

We tried again and got owned... yet again no nightmare stun.

Going back to jeuno, (after hours of shouting) we formed a new party since the mnk, pld, and brd took off. Now we were Smn/whm x3, drk/nin, war/nin, and blm/whm.

Everything was going well with all three shivas diamond dusting. Of course, our drk missed stunning the first nightmare and we lost.

Going back to jeuno, we shuffled some members around and ended up with the same setup except a nin rather than war/nin.

As soon as the fight started the ninja died somehow, but the 3 shivas were doing nicely. Then diabolos used sleepga, and proceeded to own us all with nightmare.

One thing i noticed is that diamond dust gives shiva almost no hate, it really makes no sense. Diabolos went around killing everyone before touching the shiva that had dealt 800 dmg to him.

It also seems that nightmare is horrendously overpowered, the bio effect is so strong.
My main problem is putting too much faith in the stunners. what setup would you guys recommend here? i could buy sam gear and go as a stunner myself, butit would be really expensive >,<

NIN/WAR(me)
SAM/NIN
WHM/BLM
RDM/mage(whm or blm, i forget)

Round 1 he got his 1st Nightmare off and basically tore me apart. I was too shell shocked by Draw-In! to even keep shadows up. SAM 2 hred after I RR, got diablos down to about 65% before party wipe.

Round 2, WHM goes to middle north tile, RDM, SAM and I stay on middle south tile and melee. I remember to debuff this round, voke every 30 and KEEP SHADOWS UP. Count, erase Ichi when need be, etc, just do it up. I used 1 x-potion and 1 pamama au lait.

We managed to WS stun every Nightmare that round. I had 300tp by the time my Flat Blade was needed and he only dropped 1 set of tiles. Battle took 14:57, we took our time meditating and buffing at start.

4-man pt on Titan FTW. Also, Pso'Xja is very easy to navigate if your leader has the red-black-red-black directions and your mages sneak/invis after each portal. We were like "We're here already??" Good luck, bring your skills, as with all CoP mission battles.

Me and a few people from our illustrious LS beat Diabolos on our first try tonight with only 5 people.

PT setup was:
PLD/WAR
WAR/NIN
WHM/BLM
WHM/BLM
DRK/WAR(me)

We brought plenty of meds. Hi ethers probably played a big part in our victory. As long as you can stun Nightmare, its really just an endurance match.

A few things i noticed that i didn't see mentioned.

1. He attacks pretty damn fast. It might be worth your while to have WHMs ES+Slow at the start.

2. He uses a special attack (I believe it has "terror" or "horror" in its name) that drains 2 to 5 of your stats, like all the DRK stat drain spells rolled into one.

Yeahh Finally Defeat Diabolos

setup
PLD/WAR
WAR/NIN
SAM/WAR
WHM/BLM
WHM/BLM
BLM/WHM

we did it 4 times..
1st death coze we cant stun nightmare.. (maybe server delay or macro delay)
2nd death Position Problem
3rd death Pld Drop down >.<
4th We WIN ^^

After 3 fight we do like this position
Key = Diabolos Positon

C X O X X
O X X O O
O X X O O
X X O M D

or

X C O X X
O x x O O
X O X X X
X X O M D

D = Diabolos
M = Melee
C = Mage

if Diabolos Spam Nightmare .. Mage's should stick to wall.. So it wont get any nightmare effect
