Battle Notes

To start the battle you need to go see Twinkbrix at (E-13) in Oldton Movalpolos. He will let you gamble anywhere from 1 to 10,000 gil with him. If you win then he will give you the key item: Shaft Gate Operating Dial to enter the battlefield. The more gil you bet the better you odds. He rolls two 50 sided dice. At 1 gil they must total 2. At 10k they must total anywhere from 2 to 50. With varying levels of odds inbetween. After winning he will offer to warp you to Mine Shaft #2716 for 2000 gil.

This is a solo ENM battle. You will have 15 minutes to defeat it.

You will see two NMs. The Moblin Fantocciniman and the Fantoccini. You must defeat the Fantoccini, which will be the same job as you. The Moblin Fantocciniman will roll a die and randomly buff either you or the Fantoccini. To win, you must kill the Fantoccini. The Moblin Fantocciniman does not aggro. Do not attack him or he will join the fight.

pup pulling strings win
# Aug 12 2009 at 10:30 AM Rating: Decent
ok heres the deal wear eva gear as much as you can stack on w/o giving up to much def. blink band is needed. far as you puppet goes melee head and mage frame
attachments that are needed armor plate 1&2 shock absorber, steam jacket, anlezyer, mana converter, mana conserver, damage guage, flash baulb, stablizer 2 and volt gun, far as the rest goes i cant remember but add str what you can and if you can manage to boost its hp go for it this will only lead to more mp for round two food defencive stuff like taco or i used bake neb, meds 3 to 5
x-pots ok now here's the fun part hope for the whm frame but you can live with the ranger frame its just a lil bit harder. get a light, water, and earth manuver up send you auto in to fight the guy you follow in and punch the puppet to kite it around run away from your puppet and the fight up the tunnel this is a must if he gets out the whm puppet, you blink band takes a second to activate so you will only get the frist one unless you are lucky your auto should always have one water, light, and earth manuver up keep an eye on its mp when it gets down under 200, use a drak manuver so it will convert followed by repair the key here is the puppet will only use healing magic so its ganna last a very long time still a chance of luck here but the stacking of defence and high hp and ability to cure itself is just enuff. <<<<key point>>>> when you have to use an x-pot make sure you cant see your puppets health bar this means you are out of aggro range and he doesnt decide to come after you all the sudden. wish you all the best of luck if you are a taru like melack of hp sucks hehehe

as PUP

ok i have tried this twice using different stragties for the pup limit break
your whm,and rdm frames dont work and not sure if anyone has beat up its frist puppet yet but he cast another one and you cant stun him while casting >,< the second frame both time for me had been the ranger frame and i have managed toland a good raging fist on it took second frame to about 10% but then the frame hit me with daze wipe as pup there is no point in getting back up you wont have your puppet meaning your done. also i have tried using attack food and def foods fail with both soon the 5 days is up a friend i know did it using a mixxed puppet melee head and mage frame now a bad idea i thought being this frame only cast cures and would have higher def being the you can equip more earth gear to it also because of the staying power the melee frame using canninable blade might be a good choice it you wanna spam +2 oils when possible
i will update you soon p.s. i have never seen the goblin do anything if you dont attack him and really nice item does drop if you figure out a way to kill it

For any SMN out there who are worried about how to do this fight... relax and read on.

I took one look at this fight's statistics and got giddy. Easy xp... easy item... just plain EASY.

Follow these easy to do steps and watch the xp roll in ever week.

1. Equip NQ or HQ Ice Elemental Staff and Austere Robe
2. Enter Arena
3. Drink Yagudo Drink (only if you're a non tarutaru)
4. Walk to the bridge
5. Summon Shiva
6. Engage Puppet w/ Shiva
7. Use <Double Slap>
8. Run out of range
9. Wait for Shiva to die
10. Repeat Steps 5-9 until puppet dies

As regards to one question, the items that drop are job-specific. So in my case, I went in PUP, I would only get PUP drops.

So I was reading and noticed alot of questions reguarding PUP..and hoped I could help.
Heres my setup:

[Body] Pahluwan Khazagand
[Weapon] Wagh Baghnakhs
[Earing] 2x Spike Earings
[Waist] Potent Belt
[Hand] Puppetry Dastanas
[Legs] Vendors Slops
[Feet] Puppetry Babouches
[Head] Puppetry Taj
[Ring] Unyielding Ring, Ecphoria Ring
[Back] Republican Army Mantle
[Neck] Chivalrous Chain
And of course, my Turbo Animator with Oils +2

I had Crab Sushi, 2 X-Potions +3, and a Dusty Wing.

The automation that is spawned is random, or spawned based off of what you have out (have to test that). I had my Soulsoother out, while his Stormwaker was out.

I ran right in there and attacked just the Manniquin. My automation took little to no hate, and I was doing fine. My hand-to-hand damage was low, but I got tp up and used Raging Firsts (300) which made the difference. It was going slow, but I was doing fine taking damage from 3 mobs, while I was being healed. I did lose however, because my Automation wasn't cureing. It hadnt used any magic..so there was no timer, so (hehe this is the part i forgot to look at ^^;;) but I think it was Silenced.

So my advice, make sure if your using a mage frame, to have him far away from the mobs (which would be a good thing to do reqardless) and take out the enemy automation first. You'll be able to take damage, but still be healed, and 1 less mob that nukes and enfeebles is nice! Once the automation is out, target the Manniquin, and you should have an easy fight.

If you die, you can either wait 3 minutes to zone out, or warped to your Home Point, either way wont make you lose Exp.

Hope that helps somewhat! Any quesions/comments, let me know!

So far I have proof of this being done with Diabolos and Shiva.

Shiva

I've also done it with Fenrir and Ifrit. But have no video proof. =(

Did it with Shiva a bunch of times, but I haven't tried it since I got Fenrir. I might give that a try today. I'm going to give it a try right now. I'll repost and tell you how it goes. :)

Tried it, It was all going to planned until I forgot to not be near when the Astral Flow goes off. Ifrit was summoned out to fight my Fenrir. I was ready... I really was... It's been more than 11 months since I did this last, so it's my fault for not remembering everything. I didn't used to mess up like this. :P I'll try again later. Goodluck everyone. If you're a Summoner and want to try this, check out my signature. It's fun.

I buffed up a little with my Light Spirit before going in. I caught a ProtectIII. That's always nice. Ifrit hit me with inferno for 468 damage. Fantoccini finished me off with a 40 damage hit. Tarutaru smn.

lol that was too easy. Did this on COR using a Archer's knife justp spaming bullets. i still had 254HP when he died. i didnt try sleeping him, that was going to be my back up plan but i didnt need it. only got 2k exp, kida a downer but oh well. going to try again.
ENM Battle NIN Pulling The Strings
# Jan 01 2008 at 9:03 AM Rating: Decent
Just finished this ENM on NIN. Was lucky and got the Naruko Earring first time and 2,000 exp. By the way this earring when equipped and used will last 3 minutes (I timed it), but you must keep it equipped until the enchantment ends.

Gambled with the Goblin in Oldton for 6k gil and won. Traded 2k gil for gob to teleport me to the Mine Shaft.

Entered ENM

Used a Sole Sushi
Charge from a Soneskin Torque
Put up Utsusemi: Ni

Ready for fight.

Didn't know if Marionette would have shadows up initially so i cast Blind on it and it stuck and engaged. Cast Paralyze, Slow, Poison, and they all landed. Melee'd till over 100 tp and Blade: Jin. Used IC Wing and Blade: Jin
Goblin did a Dice Roll that gave me 100 TP so I Blade: Jin again. During fight I used the Elemental wheel twice. Ended up using 5 Hi Potions to keep my health up in case he used Mijin Gakure (which he never did).

Single hits were for 27-41 per hit. Crits for around 60.
I used two Yoto +1 for weapons. Proc Defense down helped.
Each Elemental landed for 77 except for a few.
Blade:Jin hit for 224-294.

I have done this ENM on BLM and on RNG and the reward, if it drops, for those jobs is nice also. I will say that part of winning this ENM is luck. I have seen the Goblin restore the Marionette HP to full when i was just about to win. Back to back Firaga II with Stun Timers down on BLM and lost. The above posters said he got a Mijin Gakure early and lost. So if you want the item, keep trying, you will win. For me this fight was very easy this time. The next time it may not be.

Good Luck

I've completed this ENM for beastmaster twice now. Fairly simple and straightforward fight. I've used both HQ Tiger Familar (warm meat broth) and a Voracious Audry (noisy grasshopper broth...only b/c friend gave me one from choco hot+cold). My equipment listing below:

Kabrakens Axe
Balance Buckerler
Lightning Bow
Siaphi Turban (rampages)
Empress Hairpen (while fighting the puppets summoned pet)
Chivy Chain
Fang Earring x2
Scorpion Harness (while fighting the puppets summoned pet)
Hauby (rampages)
Sun Ring
Garrulous Ring
Nomad's Mantle
Potent Belt
Bst Trousers
Bst Gloves
Bst Gaiters

Items:
Hi-Pot +2 x5
Panama Au Lait x2
Sole Sushi x1
Pet Food zeta

Go in, call beast, eat sushi, and run toward battlefield. Sic pet on Fettachino (or whatever it is), and drink panama au-lait. Let pet get some hate then engage puppet. When he calls his first pet, switch over to pet and strait melee. Save your tp. Once its dead switch back to puppet. Moblin will have rolled several dice by now, hope you have good luck >< When second pet summoned, target, and us rampage or melee until you have the tp, and kill. Switch back over to puppet and he should be nearing death. I usually build up enough tp to kill with rampage before 3rd pet is summoned. Used potions and pet food where needed.

I've only done it twice, but it has been pretty easy. I havent had the moblin heal the puppet to full life yet *knock on wood*. Got my pacifist ring my second go at it. Also, pet AoE moves will hit the moblin, but he wont engage.

OK . . . .

As far as I can Tell From reading all the posts I am the First PUP to do this and have something to say. . .

I wont lie, I was OwNeD! IT was My first time going in to do it so i didn't expect to win. It was just to test the waters and see where i would be lacking, also to check for items i would need. I wore my Usual Solo gear, with some Bream Sushi For a bit of added Vitality.

Equipment:
Full PUP AF
Black Adargas
Chivalrous Chain
2x Spike Earrings
2xPuissance Ring
Bellicose Mantle
Potent Belt

Oniwaka (my automation):
Stormwaker Frame & Head
Mana Converter
Mana Tank II
Mana Conserver
Damage gauge
Flash bulb
Loud Speaker
Loud speaker II
Mana Booster

First thing I noticed Is that Unlike the DRG and BST, The PUP called the Automation With out having the Mobilin roll it on the dice. My Equipment is set to make me hit pretty hard and Fantoccini was still hitting me for twice the damage and hardly if ever missed an attack.... Its Automation used the Harlaquin Frame and Spams Dia and Bio, Its melee attack was just had hard as Fantoccini. I was able to take it down to about 40% with out having the Mobilin roll cures Or its Automation Casting it, but Finally Overloaded keeping my self cured and died. Raging Fists Did about 300 damage both times i was able to use it, I did not see him use any WS.

I think that Had i brought some Potions switched out some equips to evasion +
and an Icr. Wing, I believe i can win it. . . Well, Ill try it out Next week again, and make a new post.

Did this thing as BLM yesterday, was extremly easy. No spell resisted (except Blind, but well, not really important) Never got interrupted too.

Started with

Manafont --> Flare --> Flood --> Aero III --> Water III --> Poison II --> Drain + Aspir --> repeated some spell until he was dead.
I once got 100 TP from a Roll (engaged right before I started to cast Flare)
but due to changing my Staff through Makro I lost them before I even saw I got'em ._.

but now just a question... anyone know's if this ENM is like Maat for WHMs? my Taru darling would like the Cure potency and I wanted to find some hints of beating Fantoccini as WHM ^ ^
BLM experience and the WHM question
# Jul 08 2007 at 7:48 PM Rating: Decent
Whm version is easy. As long as you bring 1-3 ethers, and a few hi-potions(doubt you'll need them). Make sure your weapon skill is up though, and try to have your other skills at a decent lvl as well. I have only lost it 1/4 times. Sadly I still haven't gotten the item. >_<

The goblin's roll does determine a lot b/c your a whm though. The one time it gave the automaton(w/e you want to call it) 3 ws in a row. Luckily the automaton doesn't cast anything unless it's rolled to. All it does it melee you, just try to keep it silenced and paralyzed.
BLM experience and the WHM question

Definitely not like the Maat fight where you can cure yourself for a set time and then get excused from the fight. This is fun because you have to kill the Fantoccini. No fancy gear needed. Yag drinks, some eva gear (if you have it), AF hands feet and legs. I used my club and a shield. Some say Staff is better, but I found club worked best. I bought an Aracana Breaker (DPS: 630 DMG:34 Delay:324 Additional effect vs. arcana: Weakens defense) because it produced the most damage and it's cheap (5k on my server). I had an Attack Shield from a bcnm40 I did so I used that as well. Go in, have fun, and keep safe. Slow, Paralyze, Dia stuck so definitely good to use that those. At the beginning you can run up to the wooden platform and start casting your buffs. Make sure not to get too close or they will agro. Wear all your MP+ gear and then cast: Protect, Shell, Stoneskin, Aquaveil, blink and eat your food. Rest to full, then when ready, cast Regen, swap to your fighting gear, pop yag drink and engage. Don't bother recasting Regen when it's down. Flash > Stoneskin when ss is down.

Good luck. He can get the roll for Benediction, so don't be heart broken if you lose. It happens.

Best of luck and Enjoy! It's a fun fight. Definitely a challenge for the whm soloer. It's an easy fight once you adapt.

Cheers,
Sadok

So I'm confused, does PUP have 3 items that they can get out of this? Attuner, Equalizer, Target Marker? Seems to be that's great for PUP, since those all can be sold for large amounts of money each...

Just did this about 1hr ago.... man was this fun! Easy peasy lemon cheesy
Haven't done any CoP missions so this was my first time hearing Turmoil/Tough Battle 2 good stuff!!!!11

Used my Shaman's Cloak for nuking.

Pie
/attack
Casted Ice Spikes
Yagudo Drink
Flare
Burn
Manafont
nukes etc...

Tallied up the damage and did 3779 not including Burn so maybe ~3800HP?

The Yag drink wasn't even necessary nor was the food probably.

Used the following macros:

Flare/Burn/2hr/Stun/Drain/Aspir/Water3/Stone3/Thunder2/Blizzard2

Just cycle through the macros in that order and repeat with Water III again
Just remember use Manafont AFTER Flare
and save Elemental Seal for Drain

1/1!!!!!!! Go Go Full moon!!!!!!!!

easiest 2000 limit points I ever got ^^

Corsair fantoccini
# Jan 16 2007 at 5:58 PM Rating: Decent
Did this as corsair (got the Corsair bullet pouch and some worm mulch)

Earth staff
full af
matchlock gun
iron bullet
vision earring
genin earring (dosent work with no sub but i had no other earring on me)
rk belt+1
nomads mantle
rajas ring
scorpion ring+1
spectacles

Entered bc, used icarus wing, tavnazian taco, drank a pear au lait, wizards roll and ninja roll.
i got unlucky number on ninja and 8 on wizards.

Engaged used slug shot, earth shot, random deal, earth shot, wild card (2), earth shot, random deal, earth shot.

After that i just shot and used slug shot when i had tp and earth shot when it was up until he died, i had a few hi-potions just in case too.

Fantoccini was hitting for 14-20 dmg on ranged attacks and same with dagger.
Goblin rolled a LOT for the fantoccini making him slug shot nearly every time for around 130dmg

Slug shots was hitting for 400-600.
Earth shot was hitting for approx 230 consistantly.
I missed a bit but not much mainly because i was wearing af instead of acc stuff earth staff instead of archers and used taco instead of acc food. Shark gun and marksmanship merits would make this even easier

With taco and earth staff his dmg is so low an au-lait can pretty much nullify his melee and you only have to worry about getting hit by slug shot for 100 dmg but thats what potions are for.

Overall it was very easy. 8mins 1sec time (spent 4 mins waiting for phantom roll to wear off after buffing so random deal wasnt wasted on it)

I tried this last night since folks say it's good practice for Maat, and it went pretty well.

I went in, used a tavnazian taco, Soul Voice, minuet + madrigal on me, elegy and requiem on the fantoccini. Then started whacking away with my sword (skill 200). Fantoccini uses minne (which I dispel), and is poking at me with a dagger for not too much damage, then gets a couple of good rolls and uses viper bite for around 150hp. I pop hi-potions when my hp go yellow, and use fast blade at 100tp. Re-sing elegy and requiem 2min after SV, madrigal + minuet again, then fast blade again. I'm winning easily, and then get a couple of good rolls - one that heals me and another that gives me 300tp. One fast blade later, the fantoccini is down.

Fun fight, I suspect Maat is gonna be much harder. I used 4 or 5 hi-potions, gfight was 4min 30seconds or so, 2000xp but no drops.

I have done this with success as BLM.

Things to do, first off cast Ice spikes, when he hit you the paralyze works really good.

At start go near him and use 2hr, cast Flare at him before he detects you, now after cast Aero 3, Water 3, use Drain and Asphir it works fine on him, continue casting tier 3 spells to he die.

There is nothing to it, really easy but if he use 2hr you can't stun him but I have only seen him use 2hr once.

He hit for 20-30 so not allot and you can drain it back, if you want you can bring potions but the times I did this I did not need it, having all magic capped helps of course.

Just won this on BLU. What I did was buff up with cocoon, metallic body, and refueling in the beginning, then rested to full mp, used sole sushi and icarus wing. Ran in, used Azure Lore, then Vorpal Blade >> CA Death Scissors. This by itself takes him down to about 60% health, then I just spammed spells on him, and used Blank Gaze to dispel when he cast Cocoon on himself. I had to cure with Magic Fruit once, which i'm lucky I did because right after he used Vorpal blade on me and took me to about 200 hp. By that time I had 100tp again, and finished him with Vorpal Blade. No Death Chakram, just the 2k exp.

Easy battle.

Entered the arena, used sushi and au lait, then used meditate. Wait recast time then engage the nm. Jinpu > 2H > Jinpu > Jinpu > Jinpu > Meditate > Yukikaze, and it was dead.
No Earring Drop ; ;.
I was lucky lol, the Moblin buffed me with defense bonus /laugh

I'm a 75 Drk. I do this for easy Exp buffers every 5 days (Sky and dynamis go badly sometimes). First off, I have my macros set correctly. Test them before entering, DUH! I have done this fight more times than I can remember, but it's more than 30. It should be more than that, but I got lazy. I should have a 70+ fight record if I had gone every 5 days since it started. Anyway, here's the Drk layout:

My Accuracy Gear:
Scorpion Harness,
Lightning Bow +1,
Emperor's Hairpin,
Peacock Charm,
Dodge Earring 2x,
Jaridah Bazubands,
Sniper's Ring 2x,
Beak Mantle +1,
Lif Belt,
Jaridah Salvars,
Chaos Sollerets,
And of course V-Scythe for my main weapon.

My Smackdown Gear (That gets macroed in; all remaining gear stays the same).
/equip body "Haubergeon"
/equip neck "Chivalrous Chain"
/equip L.ear "Spike Earring"
/equip R.ear "Assault Earring"
/equip Hands "Chaos Guantlets"

next set of macros

/equip L.ring "Puissance Ring +1"
/equip R.ring "Assailant's Ring"
/equip waist "Swordbelt +1"
/equip legs "Chaos Cuisses"
/equip head "Chaos Burgeonet"

Items I keep handy
Icarus Wing,
Vile Elixer,
Vile Elixer +1,
Sole Sushi +1,
Blink Band

So here's my strat: Enter wearing WS gear and Blink band, Blink up, put back on Chaos Head. Eat Sole Sushi +1, Use Icarus Wing. Walk up, engage, use Absorb-Vit. When he comes up, Lay the smack down with Guillotine. Quickly Macro in Accuracy gear. Hit him a few times, Stun, use Absorb-TP (It's important to use this after you've given hits and he's given hits so he has TP to take; Doing it after guillotine is good). When you have 100% again, macro in the heavy gear and WS him again, this time using SE and LR. After WS is over, macro back in your Accuracy gear and use Bloodweapon if you feel he's not close enough to death already. Use a vile elixer as needed. If you do this with the Scorpion Harness and Dodge earrings you get hit A LOT less. Also use Sniper's rings instead of Woodsman rings. This battle usually only takes a few moments. Gob usually doesn't have enough time to get in too many rolls before mob is toast. If fight goes longer, slip in a weapon bash or another stun to give yourself a few more hits than him. Drain only after stun as drain is somewhat long in casting time. If Gob gives him full HP, sometime during the fight, then it becomes a fair fight as you no longer have the advantage of starting it off with a WS. Use the Vile Elixer +1 if it comes down to it. IMPORTANT: If you have ever won the LV 61 ring from this, bring it with you every time. If you happen to get lucky enough to get another one, you'll need to have the old one on with you to be able to throw away for the fresh one. I've only gotten 2 Tactical Rings. They come in real handy for gods in sky or when soloing NM's for quests.
