Battle Notes

To start the battle you need to go see Twinkbrix at (E-13) in Oldton Movalpolos. He will let you gamble anywhere from 1 to 10,000 gil with him. If you win then he will give you the key item: Shaft Gate Operating Dial to enter the battlefield. The more gil you bet the better you odds. He rolls two 50 sided dice. At 1 gil they must total 2. At 10k they must total anywhere from 2 to 50. With varying levels of odds inbetween. After winning he will offer to warp you to Mine Shaft #2716 for 2000 gil.

This is a solo ENM battle. You will have 15 minutes to defeat it.

You will see two NMs. The Moblin Fantocciniman and the Fantoccini. You must defeat the Fantoccini, which will be the same job as you. The Moblin Fantocciniman will roll a die and randomly buff either you or the Fantoccini. To win, you must kill the Fantoccini. The Moblin Fantocciniman does not aggro. Do not attack him or he will join the fight.

First time, I tried with no idea of what to suspect. I managed to get it down to 20%, but failed to survive against {Hundred Fists}.

Last night, I attempted it again with two changes: Counterstance, and a Pear au Lait.
Three of the four dice rolls were strongly in his favor, and the fourth didn't do me any good [Defense Boost, while using Counterstance...].
Long story short, however, I survived with 180-something HP.

2000 EXP... No item. :\
Totally worth it though, even if I had to bet the stupid Goblin 10k three times. >.<;

This is a solo fight. It can only be done solo and yes THF can. I would reccomend having capped evasion and marksmanship. Use Perfect Dodge at the start(in case Moblin rolls for u to get it back). Take at least a stack of each type of bolts(bloody, acid, etc..). Also, this doesn't require seals.

I did this for the first time and had the worst experience with it. Basically it was impossible for me to win.

The first moblin enhance was to me, but it was a measley attack up that went away after a few hits. Then he gave me mp +83, and I was like ok... After this....he Cure IV the Fando so he was back at full health then he gave the Fando 2 hr ability and he Invincibled on me after that he gave the Fando 300TP and he Spirits Within'd me for 1300 dmg.

It was an impossible win for me. No items, equipment would've helped me. Stupid moblin. I wasted 12k.

I died to this as BLM. I thought I was fine. Even had a Regain Feather...I got interrupts on over 70% of my spells, and as a result I could hardly hit him with anything. Got him to 48% before I died to meleeing...His spells - well - he only cast one, and Stun took care of that.

I saw a post awhile back that said after someone finished ENM60 they tried to run through Newton Movalpolos and was killed. Right when I zoned into Newton a ways I ran into Goblin named Sleakachiq that offered to take get me out of there! ^^
- For the cost of 800gil -

EDIT: You also have a choice of being warped to the beginning of the mine shaft connected to Newton or being warped out to Gustaberg.

Just killed this guy as DRk. Did it NP used same strat i'll use on Maat. Blink Headband+Sole Sushi then ABS-Vit at start of fight. Gain TP while Blink is on. First Guillotine done with Last Resort then clicked off after Ws. Then pop Icarus Wing + Souleater+BW and he was a toast a hit or 2 after that. ALso through a Poison II in in the begining. Only spell he had time to get off was drain. Didn't even WS on me. GL!

OH yeah No &*#^*($& drop!!! >< I'll be back soon

Just beat it as a 60drg.

Wasn't too bad, instead of lots of hits for light damage it hit slowly for 100+. I missed a handful of times, but did win. Those damn dice rolls actually helped it more than me. I was able to WS, use 2hr, WS again and at one point, I got an "ability recharge" dice roll, which helped a TON due to my jumps being recharged. Not to mention using Spirit Surge recharged my HP from the red to the yellow, giving me a big lead.

3 hi-potions used, total.

Got the 2k xp, some wyvern feed (go figure) and worm mulch.

I think mine was broke. ^^;

I went in naked, unsure if the Maat-rumor would affect the Fantoccini. (Rumor has it that Maat's stats are mirror images of your own, so if you enter naked, and then equip gear, Maat's stats will be lower than your's.) I figured I'd be on the safe side, took off all my INT/MAB gear.

I equipped up, rested up, and ran towards the circle where Fantoccini was waiting. I cast Ice Spikes on myself.

Manafont
Elemental Seal
Flare

Flare did 1060 damage (on Watersday, with Vulcan's Staff). Fantoccini rushed me and started his uber melee with his club of doom. His melee hits were between 20-30 damage. My Ice Spikes made a few of his melee attacks be paralyzed.

When Manafont was still active, I continued to chain-nuke. Thunder II, Blizzard II, Fire II.

The Moblin used Dice Roll while I was Manafonting and gave me 100 TP which I promptly lost from a macro switch while casting a spell.

Manafont wore off, so I pulled out my staff and started attacking Fantoccini. Any melee damage (especially with added effect) doesn't hurt in the least.

While I continued to go down my line of spells (Thunder II again, Blizzard II again, Fire II again), Fantoccini continued to melee me for crappy damage, only interrupting a spell once. He cast one spell on me the entire fight - BLIND! (Oh no'z!) The Moblin used 2 more Dice Rolls, giving me full HP, and a buff of some sort for Fantoccini (it didn't show up in my chat log). I drained Fantoccini once when my HP went yellow.

I finished Fantoccini off with an Aero III. I ended with 569 HP and 466 MP, no meds or drinks (even though I brought them). My first try - Got my Spirit Lantern. (^.^)b

To recap: Ice Spikes, Manafont, Elemental Seal, Flare, Thunder II, Blizzard II, Fire II, (manafont off), melee attack, Thunder II, Blizzard II, Drain, Fire II, Aero III, dead puppet.

I got really lucky with the spells he cast (OMG BLIND!) and the Dice Rolls. (*'-')
Any Rng try this yet?

# Mar 20 2006 at 1:09 AM Rating: Default
ok this was a b*tch for sam, cause i barely won but heres the trick i used
i brought and icarus (no roomf or toher items)

-meditate and wait 2min 30sec
-pop thirdeye wait 30sec then ranged then fantoccino with demon arrows itl u attack down

-pop jinpu then your 2hr wiht 3 jinpus, hit icarus wing pop another jinpu and hit meditate do jinpu

edit: title iis missing the word challenge :D
- if you dont have good food or good gear this will do about 85%~90% if your lucky , kill him

-i didnt wait out meditate long enough so i barely won

- as "lucky" as i am the friggin dice roll gave him 300% tp and yukikaze'd me for 458 taking me to 108 i got lucky popped third eye hit him and killed him

the gob dice rolled twice , both for him, lucky me he dice rolled another 300% as the nm died

i popped the chest and got the earring , 1/1 ^^

i used daiyahhna and haubergeon and chiefkabobs, 2x puissance rings, vanguard belt ryl kngiht breeches, fed kyahan vanguard belt, spike earrring x2 and spike necklace with warbow+1 and 10 dmeon arrows
maybe if i waited out meditate it would have been easier, also maybe if i popped chiefka before first 2 jinpus
jinpu > jinpu is a repeatign sc , detonation > scission > detonation and so on, my jinpus hit for 500-600 wiht the chiefka, main part to htis bcnm is remmeber, third eye is your friend, he had fairly low acc (first jinpu did 155 due to missing and no food)
i got lucky he didnt pop his 2hr

I did 3286 dmg total and i ended with 130 hit at 3% or so so im guessing mine had 3200 hp good luck to all you sams helped this help (if you can even understand it) BTW this is ferque on quetzalcoatl server so i say Hi!! to everyone who hates me

This works greath, I capped my Markmanship and can hit Fantoccini with close to 100% acc using Bloody bolts this ENM is a cake to do plus you get hell of allot TP from it to spam Rampage or Raging rush.

Fantoccini powned! WAR's cap your Markmanship you wont ever regret it.
Dragoon first try, success
# Mar 08 2006 at 10:18 PM Rating: Default
I was going to try this for the hell of it, brought along only Pamama au laits and only used 1. Started off combat with two jumps. It didn't come with a wyvern and neve 2 houred (Spirit Surge). Get TP and used Leg Sweep by mistake instead of Penta. At the beginning it was hitting me for over 120 and I was hitting it for 80 . . . was looking very bad. But it used weapon skill like Thunder Thrust and Leg Sweeper agianst me . . . and my Penta was doing around 500. I got TP, Penta's, used Spirit Surge, Jumped, Penta'd again, got to do another from the random dice roll. After the spirit surge i was hitting it for 160 and topped off a penta thrust at 712. Also the Spirit Surge heals. I was surprised to beat it so . . . anticlimatically.

Gear:
Grand Knights Lance, Empreror Hairpin, Peackock Charm, Assault Earring, No second earring (only other earring was Spike and I preferred to not have negative evasion), Tiphia Sting, Victory Ring, Puissance ring (have woodsman but again, preferred no -evasion). Scorpion Harness, Enkelados's Bracelets, Life Belt, Drachen brias and Drachen greaves. Brought Amemet Mantle with me but forgot it was 61 and didn't have a replacement for it at the time.
#REDACTED, Posted: Mar 23 2006 at 9:42 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) dude there's no FRACKING WAY u beat this on Drg using one Aulait...... I just tried it, SAME gear u have... used TWO aulaits, AND a hi pot... pos killed me in 30 sec flat... keep talking smack....
RE: Dragoon first try, success
# May 07 2006 at 5:37 PM Rating: Default
no joke. it really is kinda random though, the dice rolls. I lost my next two tries pretty badly . . . one pretty quickly because it decided to penta me which did about 400 dmg and so I never recovered from that HP loss. Another time I killed me before I got to 2hour and heal myself. I've killed it more than not though, and using Carbonara + Rajas now makes it SO much easier. I haven't used Potions because the amount of HP you get back is basically taken from you during your use of the potion, unless it's like a Vile . . . I also bring icarus wings which I use off the bat and open with a petna. Yeah, I admit, my frist attempt was rather easy probably due to dumb luck more than anything. It's still no guarantee either. I just won again with the same setup as I had above with just my Rajas and no Tiphia Sting. Just a matter of which WS it decides to use and the roll of hte dice.

btw . . . how did you use 2 aulaits in 30 sec?

# Mar 06 2006 at 7:01 PM Rating: Decent
I must say...this is a lot like the Mnk Maat fight

Tried this for the first time tonight

Ran in, used I. Wing, equipped 60 cap pieces where needed. Then Boost x3, Focus + Dodge, Chi Blast, Hundred Fists, Raging Fists. Let Hundred Fists go to 100TP, used Howling Fists since Raging Fists did low damage. Let Hundred Fists run out before I used another TP move. 3rd TP attack took him to about 24% health. From here on out it was a straight battle.

Finished the fight with 117hp
2000EXP and Worm Mulch >.>
Will definitely be trying this every 5 days

Edit: Just looked over chat log. I countered the Fantocinni 8 times, and I was countered 7 times

Thats extremely overkill man. The only thing I use when I do this is Meat Mithkabobs and a varying amount of hi-potions, depending on how smooth the fight goes. Sometimes none, sometimes all 10 that I make beforehand.

I just did this as DRK and beat it in 3 minutes 7 seconds with no pots.

Setup:
Vassago's Scythe
Chaos Burgeonet
Byrnie
Enkelados's bracelets
Peacock amulet
Victory ring x2
Spike earring x2
Life belt
Royal Knight's breeches
Bounding boots

On entrance, I popped an Icarus wing and made my way to Fantoccini(long walk). I started the fight with Absorb-STR and followed with Souleater + Last Resort + Guillotine which knocked him down 1267 points. I kept both buffs up and used Bloodweapon. After Bloodweapon wore, he had just about had it. I Stunned and Drained, then Bio II'd him down.

Easy 2k EXP for DRK
I only got one drop, but it was a Tactical Ring^^

For those BLMs that think this is real easy for them, it's not quite so simple. There's still a rather large factor of luck involved, not only with what the goblin rolls, but also with what spells are resisted and what the puppet casts.

I did this twice so far, and lost both. The last time he kept casting aga spells whilst I was in the middle of casting my own. You can possibly survive one by using Drain to get back your lost health, but if he does it a second time, you're screwed if Stun isn't up. Worse, my Flare got resisted for 500 even after using Elemental Seal before casting it (for the record, I did this on Thunderday, so day resistance wasn't a factor), and even cast Freeze on it beforehand to lower fire resistance. Can you say "Ripoff"?

Also to note, if he starts casting AM on you, you can run back to the tunnel and avoid it's range if Stun isn't up. The puppet will then run back over to you once the casting is interrupted and try meleeing again. If it has the Manafont roll however it'll stay back and try to keep casting magic on you. DON'T CLOSE IN AT THIS POINT. Just wait out of it's casting range and wait for him to come over to you. If you try to run in while the puppet has Manafont, you'll just end up getting smacked with something painful. Sidenote: The Manafont roll is random. Sometimes you will have it, sometimes the puppet, sometimes neither of you. Plan accordingly

So when going in this one, expect that anything can go wrong at any given time. Also, SE needs to adjust the damn wait time on this. A week to wait is ridiculous when there's nothing you can actually sell from winning this thing.

Update: Finally beat it on third try using the methods mentioned above. Went on windsday. No item drop.

Was bored last night as I waited for the LS leader to come on. Some reason after 15-20 mins of waiting for the dang mining points to return with no luck I went off to hunt down Twinkbrix an see if I had any luck with this ENM. I had brought gear for this with me each trip just incase. Finally went thru with it last night. Nothing flashy gear wise since I'm trying to save for my Noble's Tunic. However I did forget food. I still had a Black Pudding effect on from an earlier exp party with JP players.

Gear:
Arcana Breaker (my club skill is 177. used nothing but True Strike ws when I had the TP. Hit for around 200 dmg each time.)
Spartan Hoplon
Holy Ampulla
Silk Headband
Fang Necklace
Morion Earring x2
Healer's Briault
Battle Gloves
Alacrity Ring
Garnet Ring
Red Cape
Life Belt
Healer's Pantaloons
Healer's Duckbills

Cost me about 30k to get into the Mine Shaft. LS leader usually compliments my WHM skills compared to the one slacker WHM who is higher then me an Maat isn't far off so I figured give this a shot. Couldn't hurt anything. Besides I wanted this feather for LS stuff (like ZM an PM) and Maat in a few lvls.

Went in an buffed up. Pro III, Shell III, Blink, and Stoneskin. Rested to full. Switched weapons an equipped my shield. Used the Spartan Hoplon's Phlanax effect. Hasted myself an went to the fight. Used Dia II on the Fantoccini to start the fight off. Knocked stoneskin down. I did try to recast it once but he interrupted it and I didn't try again. Kept myself up with Cure IV and a Yag Drink. Moblin rolled and gave him a 300% TP. He hit me with Sperah Strike. DS + Cure IV back to full health again. Continued to beat on him. Mob gave me a Def Boost. Later rolling more TP for the Fantoccini who hit me with Brainshaker which stunned my Cure IV cast. Mob rolled and I gained 200+ mp back. Started dropping low on health an mp. Went for my Benediction macro but it didn't fire. XD I must have messed it up when I rearranged my macros. The Fantoccini had a Def boost. Calmed down an went for my last Cure IV. Mob rolled me another mp roll. 150+ mp gained back. He rolled a health gain for the Fantoccini when I had it down to about 5% health. Gave the Fantoccini about 120-150hp back. Finished off the fight in sytle with one last True Strike to the Fantoccini's head. =D Haha!

Opened the crate an waited with my fingers crossed. Worm Mulch & Healing Feather! =D I about died in shock. 1/1 on my Healing Feather first try. o.o LS members wondered what I was cheering about till I told them an explained the ENM. That made my night. ^^ Now if I can just get 5 more lvls, Maat here I come!

Yea, got it twice now. I'll give you the down and dirty on both times.

First time - Went in relativly unprepared. All I had was a Spartan Hoplan and Sole Sushi. Didn't PIII or Shell. Figured it was total luck game, and didn't need them. What I didn't know is that it is PART luck and PART skill. Got the Fant down to 10% using standard solo techniques. Vorpal when at 100%, Cure IV only (Most mana efficient), basic solo techniques, right? Well, I figured I lost because Moblin was favoring him. Figured if I came prepared next time, I'd win.

Second time - Armed to the teeth. Icarus Wing, Yag drinks, attack gear, mana rings (which I switched out when the +20 mana they gave was spent), reraise scroll (which can be helpful if you have Fant at 10% and you raise, reheal, and re-engage, I've heard).

Spelled up, healed up, used various food / drink, and then went to town. Got a TP burst from the moblin at the beggining, and I thought I had it made. Course, I thought wrong. The Fant got some sorta Regen affect on it that was KILLER. As a PLD, we do **** for damage. Even with my Dragivall (highest damage / sec @ 60), he was recovering more than I could do damage. I watched my hit knock him down 3% to 97, and then almost immediatly, him jump back to 100%. I used one Spartan, one sole, one juice, and said "***** it, I don't need to waste a wing, a juice, another spartan charge, a reraise all to take this dude down. especially if he has godly regen granted by the moblin...". So I just died and warped back.

---- In recap, this guy is part stratagy, part luck. I lost both times, but came closest when I just improvised. Be prepared, but don't be angry when you lose.

Fun stuff,

Went in not expecting alot, just recently heard about it and was bored, so, grabbed a meat chiefka ran up and spent abit getting him to roll right, got in, pop'd the chiefka, boosted 10, chi blast, counterstance (doesn't have damage effect like other mobs), focus and dodge + 100 Fists.

Got really unlucky with him getting 3 full TP rolls, only used raging fists once though and I got a 500ish heal.

Won with like 400 hp left, got the 2k exp but not the earring, maybe I missed something? =(

Oh well

I want to say this first: This ENM is 40% luck and 60% skill. So even if you're a master RDM, even with all your skills capped and all the best gear, one roll of the dice can take all your advantages away. That being said, let's cover the basics:

1) It costs money to enter this ENM. The moblin rolls the dice and gets a number (between 1-100 I think)The more money you bet the bigger you number range, and the greater the possiblity that you win. 10,000 gives you 2-50 range. While 9,500 gives you 1-48 (I think, I did it awhile back) and so forth. This roll is completely random, the best bet is from 8-10k. If you feel lucky try lower, who knows you may hit it. After you win he gives the option to warp you to the gate of the ENM. The warp costs 2k, so at minimum you could spend 12k to enter this ENM. I've entered with as much as 34k.

You can enter the hard way which is get a Sylan(sp) Stone, throw the switches and open the gate in Oldtown and reach the one in Newtown (long trip and fighting mobs to drop stone)

2) This is a 60 cap ENM with no sub. Meaning by far your best armor is AF. I'm sure people will want to debate this, but it has some great stats. +4 DEX +10 Parry and Shield, Interuption down. Think of this as and a vs T mob at level 60 with no sub. Bring your +MP gear also, but have your AF ready to switch to. For weapon I suggest you take Royal Guard's Flueret(sp?) I gives +Acc and +Parry. Shield take your pick I have Spiked for the high def and +atk, and since it's a buckler the Shield skill kicks in more often

3)Do not attack the Goblin. Sure he makes those annoying sayings and he gives the Puppet alot of buffs, but if you attack it's 2 v 1 and everyone knows that's bad odds. Especially since Sleep doesn't seem to work too well. But since we only have Diaga it's safe to say this is not a real problem.

4)Watch your MP. Keep refreshed. Nuff said

5)Bring melee gear/accessories/food

6)Stoneskin + Phalanx + Blink are your friends, keep them close

My stats:

Elvaan

Sword capped at 64 (208)
Evasion capped at 64 (190)
Shield 158
Parry 122

Supplies:

Elvaan RSE hands and Feet (for MP)
AF body and Legs (melee and MP)
AF hands and feet (for melee)
Holy Phail (for MP)
Phantom Earring (for MP)
Enhancing Earring
Royal Knight's Belt
Red Cape +1
Carect Ring (recently was Electum)
Electum Ring (for MP)
Fortune Egg (for MP)
Lightning Bow +1 (for melee)
Gold Hairpin (for MP)
San starting Ring(lazy and cheap to buy some melee rings)
Mithra Meatkabob

I'm 12/17 on this ENM. The reason I lost 3 is because I found out 3 ways that don't work. Others were losses due to bad rolls.

1)Bind and Nuke: Failure. Bind doesn't work too well, and Silence doesn't stick. And Nukes weren't hitting too hard

2)Sleep and Nuke: Failure. Like the last time they didn't stick and not hitting hard enough

3)Chainspell Nuke: Failure. I was desperate, I figured spam my nukes convert and keep going. It was a nice idea, but I finished my MP converted, and he barely had HP gone. I was low on MP and Refresh was still going. Not enough, he got a 300 TP roll later and Spirits Within killed my Stoneskin, and it was downhill.

Gravity seemed effective, but at this point I gave up on nuking. Kiting would probably turn out just as bad.

MY winning strat:(may not work for everyone, but it has for me)

Before you enter rest up with all your MP gear on. All buffs drop once you enter.(like most BCNMs and capped fights)Use your food now if you want. Enter and cast your standard buffs. Protect III, Shell III, Stoneskin, Refresh, Blink, Aquaviel.I rest abit then run down the hall til I reach the wooden portion of the area. Now cast En-(whatever) Shockspikes, Phalanx, Barsilence, Baraero, Haste. Run forward so that you can target the puppet. Inch your way to the begining of the ramp. Begin enfeebles Paralyze, Slow, Blind, Gravity, Dia II.The puppet doesn't act til you attack him or move into range, so don't have to worry about dispel at first. Silence doesn't last long. Pull your sword and start attacking. Watch for any spells the drop and recast as needed. Save TP for 300 Spirit's within, so keep your HP up.

Okay that's the easy part believe it or not here's the hard part of the fight: The goblin rolls. There are several possible rolls the Goblin can give they can hit you or him. I've ranked them Common > Rare > Very Rare. These effects cannont be Dispelled.

1)TP gain (100+ > 300): Most cases the puppet will hit you with Shinig Blade or Spirits within. Keep Stoneskin and Phalanx up, it's your only defense. Common

2)MP gain (??? > ????): He forgets to cast spells, but mostly nukes and he'll try to silence you. VERY Rare

3)HP gain (??? > Full Cure): By far the worst roll for the puppet to get, nothing like getting him to 1/4 and having him get full life. Alot of people lose thanks to this roll, and it's too Common for comfort

4)Atk Boost (Not sure the %): You'll noitce that he's tearing through your stoneskin faster. Thankfully it stacks with your food effect. Common

5)Def Boost (Not sure the %): Your damage will take a nose dive. That's why I suggest Dia, since the buff have to negate the -% first. Common

6)JA reset: If you've used your 2hr this is the best roll ever. But for some reason this activates the Puppet's 2hr, and he uses it with gusto.VERY Rare (thank god)

The final push: (Puppet at 1/4 health or less)

I know you're hurting MP is low Refresh is about done. Depending on your situation you have 2 ways to end this:

Stoneskin, Phalanx, Protect and Shock spikes up. Nuke, 2hr, Convert, and Nuke. This ends it quickly, don't want a full cure roll to hit now. This is risky as nukes aren't as strong, and if it doesn't kill him you're down MP.

Or you can:

Just keep doing what you've been doing. Slow and steady. Convert as needed with Stoneskin, Phalanx, Regen, and Shockspikes. If something goes wrong you'll be ready to combat it.

Like I said, this has worked for me, but luck pays as big as role as skill. If your puppet takes alot of rolls, you can pretty much expect a loss. I haven't lost to time limit yet, but 10/12 of the victories have been meleed. 1 win was to DoT Poison

Victory will net you 2k xp, a Sanation Ring, or worm mulch ~.~

Great post rate up!
I did what you did at first and thought this was a mini-maat. I did the sleep/nuke thing and boy did that not last long XD
I tried again with the melee strategy and just had bad luck with the rolls. I ate a Tav. Taco instead of attack food and wasn't doing enough damage. Next time I go I'll try a kabob and see how that goes.
I'm excited to get the RDM strategy down. It's definitly more exciting to do this once a week then sit in an XP party for the 2k :) I don't care about the earring lol, I've never fought a god and probably never will (That seems to be what its good for)

Thanks for your detailed post!
