Battle Notes

Talk to Twinkbrix at (E-13) in Oldton Movalpolos to start this ENM. Choose to gamble with him for 10,000 gil until you win the key item: Shaft Gate Operating Dial. After you get the key item, pay 2,000 gil to Twinkbrix to teleport you to Mine Shaft #2716. You will battle 4 Automatons. Each Automaton has a different resistance to attacks, spells, and abilities. It will be the same each time, but the weakness is dependant on your race. For example the Galka in the Tarutaru ENM is weak to magic, but in the Galka ENM the Hume is weak to magic. All battle participants must be of the same race.

When you enter the ENM, you will have to fight 4 out of the 5 Automatons. One will not be present which will be the race that you are. These Automatons do not link, but one random Automaton will begin aiding the one currently being fought when its HP is very low.

Just did this with a RDM/BLM, NIN/WAR, and THF/RNG (me) as Elvaans.

Here's battle rundown:

After the NIN spent 110k on the gob, we were finally able to battle. The NIN and I ate sushi. I ran up and attacked the taru first. he was dead in under a minute but not before getting off a freeze which nearly one shotted me.

Then the mithra came and the NIN and I spammed Ranged attacks which took off 100-150 damage with the NIN using an Ungar Boomerang and myself using a lightening bow with Ice arrows. Sidewinder took 30% off of her but I didn't see the damage, I'm guessing around 600~ barrage missed :( but we still beat her pretty quick with myself taking most of damage.

Then came the horrible galka which we did 2-5 damage to with each swing, my ice arrows did about 40 damage each, 20 for damage and 20 for add. effect but that's still not much. RDM did Blizzard 2 and and thunder 2 for about 500 damage each and he ended up dying from it. Cylcone did 200 damage and before it died Nin used Blade retsu and I followed with cylcone which did 200 damage and the SC did the same amount. btw Ni elemental spells did about 150 damage each.

Finally, it was the hume. with just myself and the NIN left who was at half health. we did basic battle strats for it, doing about 20-30 damage a swing and our WSs which did normal damage of about 200-400~ and ranged attack was hitting for 60~. Hume fell with the NIN being at slightly over 100 health and myself almost at full. I fleed to the treasure and found 2000 exp and a Desamilion's earring. The battle itself took about 11.5 minutes but wasn't that hard considering we didn't know what to do.

RDM forgot RR so he HPed, they let me have the earring which I felt really bad about since it was my idea and they lost so much money on it and since it was my idea and they were expecting cash drops, not to mention the BCNM we did slightly before which had crap drops and we died on 2 runs. So I gave them a Mary's horn(330k) to cover the cost of what they spent. I doubt they would want to do it again since they had such a horrible time with the gob but I'm happy. Atleast now we have a post with a THF in the setup which may/may not help with the droprate. we're 1/1 atm. and probably going to stay that way. GL everone.

I know you have to gamble with the npc to get in then pay 2k to get warped, but does your pt all have to win at gambling to get in as well? Also, once you win do you get put back into the mineshaft, or have to gamble again to get in?

Yes, every member of the party has to win the gamble and pay to the 2,000 gil to be warped to the mine shaft.

Quote:

Yes, you will be placed in the mineshaft - I suggest bringing warp. The exit form the mine shaft enters Newton Movalpolos and the mobs when you exit are around T-IT to 75.

WHM wants quantz earring =(
# Sep 27 2006 at 1:55 AM Rating: Decent
Well I've done this ENM many times and a great setup for WHM imo would be
BLM/RDM
WHM/BLM
MNK/NIN

BLM and WHM can alternate stun and flash when the MNK doesn't have shadows. Against the Galka, WHM can use Banish2 and Banishga2 while the BLM uses Flare (Flare seems to work the best against the Galka, even if you have NQ Fire Staff and HQ of every other staff) and the MNK uses Chi Blast. WHM can haste the MNK during the Mithra and the Hume.

Automaton Assault (Elvaan)

NIN/WAR
RNG/NIN
BLM/WHM (me)

This ENM is extremely easy with the above 3 jobs. You can go in half-naked w/o food and not miss a beat. The most taxing part of the ENM is playing dice with the Goblin.

We entered and buffed.

RNG ran down the tunnel and pulled the Hume. Like the post below says, the hume assumes the strength/weaknesses of the automaton of your race. So as elvaan, the hume was all-arounder. I debuffed it with Choke/Burn/Dia and let the NIN and RNG tear the hume to pieces. Save TP for around 25-50% and WS will finish the hume off.

Seemed like a good minute or two before the taru came down the passageway. He does nothing but cast Ancient Magic and the Utsusemi can eat that with no problems. Seems to be strong vs ranged so the RNG just shot for TP to use on next automaton while NIN tore the taru to pieces while I had to do nothing but debuff again. Again, save TP for around 25-50%.

Mithra came next, the RNG made really short work of her. Barrage and Slugshot and the poor cat was at 0 in the blink of an eye. I was at 100% mp still after Mithra.

Galka pranced down the tunnel and now it was my turn to actually contribute something :) NIN voked and didn't engage (not giving galka TP) and I cast Burn, then elemental seal + Burst that did around 2k. RNG shadowbound the Galka so it couldn't touch me, and I finished it off with Blizzaga II for around 1400.

No drops, but quick 10-min 2k exp. Will keep trying this to get the earrings :)

Just a quick update.

The hume party member is not weak to skillchains.

The hume member replaces the race you are.
For instance, if you are the race:

Tarutaru: Hume will take extra physical damage.
Mithra: Hume will take extra ranged damage.
Galka: Hume will take extra magic damage.
Elvaan: Hume is average, all around.
Hume: You won't fight another hume.

Nin/War
Rdm/Blm or Rdm/Nin (We won faster on Rdm/Blm)
Blm/Whm <--- Me ^^

Anyways, go in, buff up, ect. ect. Have the nin pull the mithra (get the hardest done first). We didn't have any Ranged Attacks so we chipped away with Weapon Skills and magic until she fell. Took about 4mins? Next came the galka (remember they link once the previous one hits around 20%). I Manafont, Stoneskin/Blink, have the RDM cast some nukes. I cast Flare for about 2010ish dmg. Ouch. MAKE SURE THE RDM NUKES A BIT. If YOU DON'T THE GALKA WILL BE ALIVE WITH LIKE 1/3HP LEFT AND HE WILL NOT LET YOU LIVE. Hopefully manafont is still up, continuously nuke him with everything you have. Next came the Elvaan. Treat it like you would a normal mob. Weapon Skills, Physicle dmg, magic dmg, Elvaan falls. Finally is the tarutaru. Get Stun ready to stun his AM. That's like all he casts. It's the only thing I've ever seen him cast. I stunned freeze, and the nins shadows took care of tornado. Taru went down easy. Finished battle in 11-12mins, 2000Exp and Quantz's Earring :) Mikrik won the lot with like 919... I had 711 ;)

Anyways, good luck :)

We didn't know this going in for Hume fight.... buuuut

Cyclone and other elemental weaponskills are effective against the Galka. Our setup was THF RDM BST/WHM so we were magic-light, but Cyclone was doing 200+ consistently.
Some Thoughts
# Mar 23 2006 at 4:22 AM Rating: Decent
Ok Hi everyone!

I have some thoughts on this ENM so I thought I would throw in my 2 pennies.

Some General Thoughts:

First of all, you do not need a tank for this ENM. If you have people who can sub NIN and mages who can give themselves blink/stoneskin (or even better a SMN for both) you should fare rather well already.

The automatons have high-delay weapons... use this to your advantage. If you're doing the fight with a lot of ppl subbing NIN, try and cast during weapon delays and if you have DRK or BLM, try to stun accordingly to maintain shadows. This is made slightly easier due to high delay on the weapons.

The tunnel leading to the automatons is a long one... I suggest fighting at the end of the tunnel leading up to the mobs.

Here's some thoughts about each race and some suggestions:

GALKA -
Now, as an elf, I always hear cracks about my low INT, but against the Galka, even MY low INT didn't hurt me. (as a BLM) Elemental Seal and your Ancient Magic of choice will do slightly less than 2,000 damage to the Galka. If you have a RDM, MNK, DRK, WHM (any magic user) have them ready to nuke (or chi blast) the Galka as he comes running after your BLM who just angered him greatly. Stun works nicely when stoneskin falls, and between chi blast, AM and tier 3 nukes he wasn't too much of a problem.

HUME -
I've heard and definitely believe to be true that the hume is weak to H2H. Our MNK/NIN made quick work of our Hume, in fact, I and our RDM rested while she pounded away at our hume friend. If you can take a MNK, it will make your Hume experience a good one.

TARU -
Well... if you're a BLM and you want to nuke him and you have Elvaan INT... don't waste your MP. Keep your trigger finger ready to stun the Taru's Burst AM (you'll have plenty of time to do so) and just melee as normal. He'll fall quickly.

MITHRA -
Yeah she sucked. Elvaan ACC + Mithran EVA made for many misses. If you don't have a RNG or a job that's got some nice Ranged Attacks available, you're simply going to have to take some time to fight the Mithra. The good news is that she doesn't hit too hard and the delay on her weapon is nice and high. If you can stun, help your meleers keep shadows up and use your 2 Hr if you think it'll help.

In short, here are some party setups I think would be nearly guaranteed wins based on my experience and the above thoughts:

A mage with nuking ability
BLM or RDM (2 Hr. nuke highest spell)

Melee w/ NIN sub. MNK, RNG, WAR, NIN, DRG probably DRK are all good choices. Each would affect things slightly MNK would make your hume fight easier, RNG would make your mithra easier, etc. DRG would probably be your all-around best choice if you only had ONE melee option.

A job that can cure/nuke/melee (sounds a bit like a RDM ^^): You don't need a WHM but you need a job that can cure when needed. DRG/WHM possibly, BLM/WHM also. RDM probably ideal.

These are some ideas and suggestions based on my experience. You're not going to set the record with the above recommendations, but you WILL win if you keep calm and take things methodically. And in the process, you may have some fun.

I hope it was helpful. ^^

HUME AUTOMATON ASSAULT:

Party set up:

NIN/WAR
SAM/WAR
WHM/BLM

We didn't do anything to buff up first other than eat food, cast protect and shell, and rest the WHM's mp. The WHM did have Pineapple juices going the whole time though, sort of a mini Refresh.

TARU: We ran in and pulled the Taru first. He's tiny, he's got creepy doll eyes, and he's a pushover to melee attacks. Taru: Weak to melee.

MITHRA: She came charging up next. She's fast, she's very resistant to melee attacks, and she has that damn AOE Sleepga. As the SAM, my melee hits were about 13-15 each on her (ouch!) so I switched to ranged attacks which were doing upwards of 170 each with a Lightning Bow +1 and Demon Arrows. Mithra: Weak to Ranged Attacks.

GALKA: The Galka wanted a piece of the action too. Since we were with a WHM and not a BLM, the NIN and I did a Fusion skillchain so the WHM could Banishga magic burst. Amazingly it did about 740 damage and pulled hate like you wouldn't believe. A note: the Galka also did an AOE Sleep on us. Galka: weak to magic.

ELVAAN: We didn't really try anything special with him. He seemed slightly resistant to melee attacks, slightly resistant to magic. We just kind of beat on him til he died. Elvaan: must be weak to Humes. ;) (I kid, I kid...)

This was our first attempt at this ENM and we were more just doing it to try and see if we could get the exp. Happily, Quantz's earring dropped which was a great treat for our WHM.

Good info. Few things I might add for the Hume version:

~The Taru casts ancient magic. And that's not a maybe, he will start one up just a few seconds after engaging him. And they seem to go off a lot faster than normal.

~In addition to having high defense to melee hits, the Mithra also has rather high evasion.

~The Elvaan doesn't seem to have any weaknesses or resistances, but he does hit pretty hard.

My group goes as NIN/WAR PLD/WAR RDM/BLM. We've won the fight 4 times now and have yet to have anything drop. Here's hoping for next week...

Taru info:

we go nin/war war/nin blm/whm

we pull hume first, she uses -ga2 spells, like all of them. if stun isnt up i or the war run away so we dont get anyone else hit and the other takes hate. super weak to physical attacks and bad accuracy, she's the hardest part of the fight though.

elvaan always runs up next, he's just average. doesnt seem to be particularly weak to anything, just straight tank and kill him.

mithra runs up next, weak to ranged attack. i use shurikens and the war uses a bow. you NEED to use ranged attacks if you dont want her to take forever. additionally she double attacks and has pretty good accuracy even when blinded.

galka last, i voke, enfeeb, voke, full round of ele:ni's, voke. then let the blm start to nuke. at 30ish% AM will finish him off.

blm mainly heals and stuns, war does dmg, i tank. etc etc. its pretty simple with -ga2 being the biggest danger. also sometimes mithra takes too long if you start missing your shurikens. they always use this same order if you pull hume first, we've never tried doing anything but this order. we've won 5 times and got 1 earring. good luck, taru powah! :D

Okay So I have done the Mithra ENM three times now and this has been my party setup

Cassima – Paladin/Warrior
Lineara – Samurai/Ranger
Ronri – Red Mage/White Mage

And I would first like to say that the information regarding the Mithra ENM on this guide is WRONG! The hume is NOT weak to skill chains as the guide says, but for mithras the Hume is weak to Ranged Attacks. We lost our first attempt at this ENM because we were trying to Weaponskill the hume and that did very little damage. However, we’ve defeated this ENM twice now that we know what the Hume’s weakness is.

This is how the fight has gone for us so far:

1. First the Paladin pulls the Taru
-He’s Weak to Physical Attacks
-He’s hard to silence
-He usually casts a spell in the beginning that takes away about 80% of the Paladin’s health
-He goes down quickly with the Paladin and Samurai hitting him

2. Next the Galka invites himself into the fight
-He’s Weak to Elemental Magic
-The paladin uses the burning blade weapon skill on him effectively
-The Red Mage is responsible for nuking him and usually has to convert for the MP
-This is the hardest part for us particularly

3. Next the Hume invites herself into the fight
-She is weak to ranged attacks
-Our Samurai subs ranger and uses sidewinder and murders the hume
-The Hume dies very very quickly to strong ranged attacks

4. Lastly the Elvaan invites himself into the fight
-He is remarkably ordinary, and most ways to deal damage on him are effective
-He doesn’t hit too hard
-We just kill him like a normal mob, hit him, nuke him, and heal ourselves.

So far this is how we won our last two fights. We haven’t gotten any drops yet but we are hoping to soon. The hall that leads to the mobs is very long, so don’t be worried when you have walked for a long time to get to the Automatons.

I would recommend pulling the one your fighting out on to the long plank because the further you are away from the other automatons the more time you have - Sometimes they invite themselves into the fight when their friends are near dieing, so if you are far away from them you can kill the Automaton quickly before the other one gets to you.
Horrible drop rate
# Dec 27 2005 at 3:54 PM Rating: Decent
I have been doing this with Weeee and Heeeeeee for about 3-4 months on a weekly basis. We got the first earring way at the beginning and with some hardships at first, we are now down to perfecting it. We are Tarutaru we are now at a point of not losing. We have won 2 earrings, both are Morukaka's. Drop rate is about 5%

We go in with Weeee as Nin, Heeeeee as MNK, and me (Popsiclestick) as a RDM. They do not have a real WS, so the Elvaan part is fun :P

- Enter BCNM, I buff everyone with Protect, Shell, and Haste. Get to the beginning of the "circle" and pop poison potions.

- Weeee is starting to pull the mithra first, as with very little Range attacks, she needs to go down fast. Hojo pull and I start to enfeeble it even it is exactly what Weeee is doing too for ninjutsu enfeebles. Heeeeee 2 hours, and we have a dead Mithra.

Unfortunately I forget the order as they spawn out. . .but I try to keep Heeeeee alive since she hits so hard and just plain enfeeble. I will consistently try to Drain and Aspir all the mobs except for the Hume.

Hume: She is very very resistent to magic. Since she is just like a Taru, she has very strong magic spells and will require a lot of healing when she gets spells off. Fortunately, she drops like a brick to melee damage.

Galka: I can practically solo this as the RDM. With Phalanx, Stoneskin, and Blink, the Galka will drop in about 3-4 Tier 2 spells. Nuke it to death in an instant.

Elvaan: He is too average so we just kite him around and hit him up. I aspir and drain him when necessary.

One note of interest, we got our first Earring very very early, maybe our first win. After that point, we had some occasional losses but generally won. We did not get another earring for 2 months consistently. Last week, was the first time someone other than Weeee (who got the last earring for his now 75 PLD) opened it. Coincidentaly, I opened it and got our 2nd Morukaka earring.

Now this is a hunch, but I recommend trying this for people who static this: Have someone else open the darn chest! If one person opens and has gotten the item, let someone else open it. If we get another earring on our attempt this week, and Heeeeee opens it, I'd say the hunch might become a theory, only you can make it true! (*^.^)b

The answer to this is simple... All 3 members that enter to fight this MUST be of the same race. You cant bring a Mithra and 2 Galkans. So the Earrings that drop will be of the race of people you bring in.

Me and my friends just finished this. Our Clear Time was about 7'20 and we had no problems. This is what we did.

Toots MNK/WAR
Fooddude BLM/WHM
Sprinkles WHM/SMN

Enter the BCNM and Buff up and eat food. Protect and Shellra obviously, I ate Sole Sushi, Food ate Melon Pie, Sprinkles ate Marron Glace, the usual. Have one mage bring a Poison potion, but in 2 runs I've never seen the AoE sleep go off. Also the mages should bring Yagudo Drinks, Standard standard standard. I wear Full AF to ENM because it gives bonuses to everything, HP bonuses, and very nice defense. Food uses Shaman cloak and the norm, Sprinkles wears AF as well.

While the mages buff and rest, I start boosting for Chi Blast. I have no Chi Blast gear, all I do is take off my Spike Necklace.

After mages are MP'ed up, we run up till we can see them, Fooddude uses Elemental Seal and Burst on the Galka. Burst hit for 1814 damage and my Chi Blast with no MND gear and only 8 boosts hit for over 700 damage. Water III afterward dropped his big ***.

The Hume came next, and she's really weak to my Melee. Fooddude rests while Sprinkles Hastes and Keeps me healed. I hit her for about 110-140 damage a hit, Raging fists usually drops her for over 900+ damage.

Then the Elvaan comes up, hes pretty balanced. I hit him for about 50-70 and Fooddude does a little nuking. Elvaan hits alot harder than the other, usually hitting me for about 120-140, but Sprinkles has about 1000 mp with Auto Refresh and Yag Drinks, so he keeps me alive easy. Put DoT on the elvaan and he'll drop eventually.

The Mithra joins the fight last, and this is where I let loose. Focus + Berserk + Dodge + Hundred Fists and I let loose on her. I don't hit her nearly as hard as the others but with Hundred Fists she drops right after my 45 seconds are up.

Today we only got 2000 XP, no drops, but I got a merit point. Next time we will get earrings though!

Tarutaru Strat
# Sep 03 2005 at 3:16 AM Rating: Decent
I own this BCNM as Tarutaru.

Going in we have Tarutaru DRK, Tarutaru NIN, Tarutaru RDM.

NIN Can almost perfectly blink tank these, considering the delay on Great Swords.

Pull Hume, which are apparently weak to skillchains, DD builds 100 TP, SC's, Icarus Wing, WS (I have a combo that does Fragmentation) and that seals that deal. Stun any stray magic it trys to cast. (I'm a DRK, thats why I just assume stun is involved)

Next is Elvaan, just pound away at him, these apparently have no set weakness, just are medeocre in everything.

Next is Mithra, weak to ranged attacks, personally I have capped Ranged Attack as DRK, so does my NIN ENM partner, so we just pelt it with Bolts/Shuirkens untill its dead.

Next, and quite last, is the Galka. This is where it gets fun, Basically NIN just vokes and ninja magics it, keeping hate as best as it can, DRK nukes, being tarutaru, it actually does damage and you can cast more than 2 spells, and RDM chainspells and nukes it to death ftw :D

It's amazing how easy this is... You don't even need a "great" party setup. I'd say the most difficult part is the dice game with the moblin to get to the BCNM :P

Anyway, I'm in a static from my LS that's done this for a few weeks now. We go as BLM/WHM (me) NIN/WAR (Worldshaker) MNK/NIN (Kibagami).

We start by pulling the Elvaan. We fight this like you would a normal mob. They melee, WS when the can. I enfeeb, nuke a bit, aspir, then rest.

Generally the Taru comes running out next. I just stay resting as they just absolutely destroy it with melee attacks. The taru does cast Ancient Magic, so keep your shadows up.

Then the Mithra usually comes. She's a pain. Melee attacks do pretty crappy damage, but if you enfeeb, nuke, melee, (the nin used RAs occasionally but doesn't do THAT much more damage than his melee) and WS she goes down eventually.

Finally the Hume... My time to shine =D Elemental Seal > Flare does about 1900-2100 damage... Takes away about 80% of its life. Then hit it with Blizzaga 2 and it's gone.

We're 3/3 on completing this ENM with a typical finish time for 9-10 mins. We just got our first drop which was the Gayanj's Earring which I now own ^^ MP+10 INT+2 lvl 55 to equip (same stats as Phantom Earring+1 but 10 less levels to equip) So anyway we're 1/3 on drops, plus it's an easy 2k exp. :P Hope it helps.
