Did this last night with 3x BLM BRD THF.

Opened with 3x Freeze 2 on Parata (melee one), THF kited Bladmall (mage one).

Just sleep and/or nuke the children when they pop. Kill the children if Parata goes into shell, otherwise sleep children and nuke Parata. If no children out just rest mp if they're in shell.

Once Blad is just left then THF just kills children as they pop, BRD sleeps extras.

Keep Finale up on their buffs, and threnody and ballad to help mages. Was not too difficult.

Can be problematic if children get out of control.

To the poster below my parser indicated Parata had about 11k HP and bladmall 8k. Idon't know if one or the other got overkilled of it I ran out of log range at some point (I'm was the BRD).

Tested this ENM with manaburn post BLM "nerf" patch and I can confirm resistance is negligable.
Apart from that, posters below overrate this ENM. Does NOT require half of even what he went in with.

Trio this ENM for more profit!

Have fun on drops^^

Well, my LS did this last night, and I decided to post our experience, since there isn't a lot of information about this ENM here.

First, our party setups (everyone was level 70+):

Party #1:
PLD/WAR
THF/NIN
RDM/BLM
BLM/WHM
SMN/WHM
WHM/BLM (me)

Party #2:
NIN/WAR
SAM/THF
DRK/THF
DRG/WAR
SMN/WHM
BRD/WHM

This is an uncapped ENM in Boneyard Gully (through Attowah Chasm) which requires a (recommended) 12-person alliance. You can bring up to a full 18-person alliance, but with any more than 12 people, the experience point reward each person receives will be reduced. With 12 or less people, each person will receive 3k exp, and, as true for all ENMs, it's straight exp that is given directly to the job you go to the ENM as, not a scroll or page that can be used on any job.

There are no pre-requisites for this ENM. You don't need any of the Promyvions or other CoP quests or missions completed; all that is needed is for the CoP expansion to be installed and registered.

To prepare for this ENM, first talk to Jakaka, an NPC Tarutaru you will see just after zoning into Attowah Chasm from Maze of Shakhrami. Jakaka will give you a Flaxen Pouch. Take this Pouch to the summit of the mountain, Parrademo Tor, and trade it to the Cradle of Rebirth at the top. This is the same place you need to go for CoP Mission 3-3B3, and the climb up the mountain can be tricky, frustrating, and time consuming. Once you trade the Flaxen Pouch to the Cradle of Rebirth, you will receive Parrademo Stones. Take these Stones back to Jakaka and trade them for the key item Miasma Filter. You can now enter the ENM in Boneyard Gully.

As for the battle itself: It's against 2 urganites (giant snail like creatures native of Bibiki Bay), Parata and Bladmall. Neither of these two main urganites can be slept, silenced, bound, or gravity'ed. Both of them will also spawn "baby" urganites, which will run around attacking people and casting such spells as Shell, Protect, and Cure IV on the main urganites. These "baby" urganites CAN be slept, and once the main urganite that spawned them is killed, the "babies" that it spawned will also disappear.

Parata and Bladmall have all the regular urganite abilities, including the ability to hide in their shell (during which time they take 75% less damage than normal, including from such attacks as Spirits Within that usually ignores these rules), a very fast and very powerful self-regen while in their shells, and an extremely powerful AoE poison attack. THIS POISON IS NOTHING TO LAUGH AT. This is what ultimately caused our alliance to lose. Even though all the non-mages brought Antidotes, the urganites will SPAM the AoE poison attack so it is very difficult to remove for long periods of time. When affected with it, characters will take around 27 or more damage per tick. Next time we attempt this ENM, we are going to use poison potions, which only do a much more managable 1 damage per tick and will hopefully negate the urganites' poison.

Besides all the normal urganite spells, Bladmall also uses some powerful black magic, including Water IV, Wateraga III, and Flood. Bladmall also has an AoE paralyze and AoE silence ability, so mages must be ready with echo drops. This was another downfall for us -- we had no idea of either of these abilities, and while the paralyze isn't terribly powerful, the silence caught us all off-guard and several of our members fell while our mages were trying cure themselves and each other.

Our strategy was as follows:
We started out by entering and buffing just inside. Note that buffs WILL WEAR if you cast them before entering, so save your time and MP and buff once everyone is inside. I also highly recommend that EVERYONE bring some form of reraise. Any WHM or /WHM can provide their own, and everyone else should bring a scroll of instant reraise. Since there is NO exp penalty for dying in an ENM, you can die and reraise with RR1 and save a lot of time and MP for your mages.

We also had six people charge up their TP to at least 100% before we engaged the mobs; the DRK, DRG, NIN, THF, and myself (WHM) all used Opo-Opo Neckalces and Sleep Potions to gain TP, while the SAM used Meditate. We then set up 3 SCs:
WHM Hexa Strike > THF Shark Bite = Light
NIN Blade:Ten > SAM Tachi:Gekki = Darkness
DRG Wheeling Thrust > DRK Spinning Slash = Light

Once everyone was buffed and ready, we went in. The NIN voked Bladmall while the PLD took Parata and began kiting. We decided to take Bladmall down first since it has the strong black magic. The DRK and BLM had a stun order worked out, which worked out nicely. We opened up with the 3 SCs, the BLM bursting off all 3, and the 2 SMNs using their most powerful level 70 Blood Pacts. This barrage of damage brought Bladmall's life down quite a bit. Meanwhile, the PLD kited Parata (he found that kiting around the large rock near the center of the field where the two mobs spawn worked the best) and the BRD attempted to keep all the babies asleep. Next time, we may bring a second sleeper along (or have our BLM help sleep) as the BRD alone seemed to have a hard time keeping all the lesser mobs under control by himself. He said the mobs were easy to sleep (they had very little resistance) but their sheer number made it hard for him to sleep all of them.

After all the SCs and Blood Pacts, Bladmall was nearing death, but just before it died, it hit us with Silencega, and that's when things went downhill. A few people fell, though we did manage to defeat Bladmall. The PLD and the THF held Parata for a while between them while people reraised and tried to raise the dead, and the BRD and BLM continued to try and keep the lesser mobs under control. Eventually, our THF died due to the massive poison damage, and the PLD tried kiting Parata again while we attempted to recover. However, the BRD and BLM were down, so the baby urganites were running wild, and eventually we wiped.

Something to note here is that if it looks like your alliance is going to wipe, try to die away from the pit where the two mobs spawn, as that is where they and the babies will return to once the alliance is down. A few of our members died down in that pit, and Tractor CANNOT BE USED IN THIS AREA, so we could not raise them.

We had most of the alliance up and were just recovering from weakness when our (30 minute) time limit ran out.

Next time, we will be more prepared. We're all bringing poison potions to negate the high-damage urganite poison, echo drops, and some form of reraise. I'm confident that if we had known everything that we do now before we went in, we would have succeeded. However, we lost nothing (as it doesn't cost anything to enter an ENM and no exp is lost from dying in one) and we gained a lot of experience about what to expect, and we're all eager to try this again next week.

Suggestion to use regular poison potion to ward off the AoE poison spam sounds interesting. Has anyone tested it out against the regular Uragnites on Purgonorgo Isle (the ferry trip out from Bibiki Bay)? Or has anyone done the ENM and used this strategy??

When I used to farm the regular Uragnites for shells as a thf 60+/nin, I always found that if I did not have a partner with /whm for poisona, it was a losing cause. Best partner was bst/whm, who used to get the monkeys or the slimes to tank the beasts (at least the ones on the beach).

Edit: spelling

Uragnites also have a 75% damage reduction against them when they shell up. This applies to all damage. Even attacks than normally cannot be resisted such as Spirits Within and Chi Blast will on,y do 25% damage on a shelled Uragnite. In addition, they have crazy regen when shelled up and unfortunatly Square fixed it so it can no longer be dispelled ;_;

Uragnites suck.

The main screen resolution for "FINAL FANTASY XI" is dependent on the "Overlay Graphics Resolution" setting.
If the Overlay Graphics Resolution is set higher than the Menu Resolution, menus will be automatically resized.

The battle title is "Shell we dance"

The BC is two Urganites.

Upon being engaged, they will spawn 'baby' Urganites who are sleepable. The main NM's are not sleepable, gravity and bind also do not work.

As urganites, they have strong aoe poison.

I would recc a BLM alliance if i were to attempt this again.
