Summary

Luto has recently discovered that another mirror bearing strange properties exists in the world. It is supposedly somewhere in San d'Oria and she wants you to go look for it.

Walkthrough

Part 03 of The Fellowship Quest

Speak with Luto Mewrilah in Upper Jeuno yet again to start this quest. You will now need to go to Cargo Room B in Port San d'Oria and speak with Portaure.

After you are done with this cutscene, proceed to the hut in Ghelsba Outpost (same hut as the one for "Save the Children" San d'Oria Rank Mission, and The Holy Crest.) Once you click on the hut door you will be able to enter the last battle for the Fellowship set of quests. This battle is a BCNM 40 and you are able to take a maximum of 3 people into the battle. Your fellow will jump in about halfway through the battle. You can only bring in players that have not finished the Fellowship quest and require this same BCNM. For each player that enters, an additional Wyvern will spawn.

Once you have completed the battle, return to Upper Jeuno and speak to Luto Mewrilah to finish this quest and get your Signal Pearl to call your fellow.

Has anyone talked to the NPC in the meeting areas he designates for you? Like ask him to tell you if his HP is low and ect. He talks about how he still is wondering about the little girl we saved previously from the skeleton NM... anyone know if there is another quest attached to this one about the little girl? And if so, where do we start it?

So far I've called it three times. The first time it had the same armor, the second time with new armor, and the third time with new armor after that. I would level on Easy Prey (I'm a 41SAM) in Batallia Downs. It would leave after 45min. After calling it the third time and then talking to it at the rendevous point, I could change its job to either healer or attacker, or keep shield. It is still level 30.
anyone know?

ok has anyone gotten to higher lvls with ther NPC? like iv heard that u can accually buy equips for them if u want once ur lvl 31 not sure it might just be a rumor or something just asking. anything else u can do with ur NPC? i know u cant take them in garliage citadel cuz its a dungen pretty much anywhere that chocos cant go they cant go. which is kinda dumb becaus garliage citadel is for lvl 30-37 which is a dungen then crawlers nest which is a dungen... hopefully they change this...

How does the NPC lvl? Do you need to get exp for it to get exp? And finally....does it lvl like a normal lvl 30 or does it lvl after a couple battles?

For those attempting the Mirror Mirror battle, it's surprisingly easy for a level 40 capped battle. I was in there at level 34 as a red mage (I was supposed to be going with a friend of mine, but he somehow got locked out, so I ended up solo!) and never really ran into any problems. About the only issue you'll run into is if you're petrified by the dragon.

And to those curious, yes, you can change your NPC. (I know this was already pointed out, I'll just explain in a little more detail since I've done it myself already). Talk to Luto, and select the second option she gives you (something like 'I want to quit this mission' or something, I don't have the exact wording on me right now). Once she tells you to give back your signet pearl, _trade_ the pearl back to her (just like your adventurer coupon all those game hours ago!), and she'll ask you again to confirm it.

Once you've done that, the quest is effectively reset. You can talk to Luto and start it over like you'd never done it. I tried this last night since I wanted to get an NPC that was my twin with different hair ^_^ And the queues are starting to disappear too, since people are doing Summerfest stuff and also quite a lot have already done it anyway.

NPC Stays for..
# Jul 23 2005 at 2:05 PM Rating: Decent
Just because I'm sure somebody is going to ask, me and my friends have figured out that the NPC seems to last for 15 battles, or 1VD day(~45min earth time).

# Jul 24 2005 at 8:08 AM Rating: Decent
Its Easier than the mission 2-3 dragon Capped at 40 Me THF36 friend BLM60(40) and Someone we recruited along the way BLM63(40) pwned it in seconds. 3 ppl allowed in. When dragon is at about 1/2 hp ur NPC appears to shatter the mirror that gives it power, the rest, Plain sailing.

I was a little upset about that. First off, it's so easy I was insulted when later your NPC tells Luto that she had to shatter the mirror to save your life. I was fine, it had half health in 10 seconds. Hit me, a naked BLM, for 23 damage. And she broke the mirror! That could have been worth a lot to Luto! Oh well, I guess her seven years bad luck is following me around, bwahahaha.

"Where can I call him?" - Anywhere you arent with another NPC

"How many times can I call him?" - Once every 20 hours, I believe

"Will there be more quests with my buddy?" - Not to change him, unless in a further update. He is now changeable by leveling up, and fighting style

"Can I heal my buddy?" - Yes. /ma "Cure" <ft>

"What happens If I die first?" - Buddy goes away until the 20 hour cooldown

"Can my buddy change jobs?" - No, it can change fighting style though. Healer, Tank, etc

"Can a party of 3 players and 3 npc's be allowed?" - Yes, concider your NPC 1 person. 3 people and 3npc's is the max, I think.. Still not recomended. NPC has a time limit to stay out.

"Can I change my chosen npc?" - No, Sorry.

"How many times can I do the quest If I want another npc?" - None. When you have your NPC, that's it and done. He's yours forever, unless SE changes something

I hope it helped =) (Take care.)

I dunno about being able to call them anywhere as you said. I dunno if you can call them in CoP areas. A friend and I both tried to call our buddies in Lufaise Medeadows and it wouldn't let us (and yes, both of our Pearls were ready to go). Dunno why it wouldn't other than the fact storywise, a lot of those areas are isolated >.>

Actually you can. My friend did it yesterday. You just talk to Luto, give her your Signal Pearl back and then there's a flash of liiight and you talk with her again and you get the quest, like you never did it.

Where can I call him?

I found you can't call them in Beaudeux... I suppose it's only in Outdoor areas.

How many times can I call him?

You can have them out for an hour and it takes 20 hours before you can call them again.

Will there be more quests with my buddy?

Not sure yet.

Can I heal my buddy?

Yes but don't click on them and then click again or they will leave.

What happens If I die first?

I assume you'll lose your NPC, not sure if you will or not.

Can my buddy change jobs?

Yes after you get xp with it you can change it to three; Healer, Attacker, Shield.

Can a party of 3 players and 3 npc's be allowed?

Yes I did it with a group of three and the NPCs still came out.

Can I change my chosen npc?

As far as I know, no you can't.

How many times can I do the quest If I want another npc?

I think it's one NPC per character; nonchangeable.
