Summary

Luto has recently discovered that another mirror bearing strange properties exists in the world. It is supposedly somewhere in San d'Oria and she wants you to go look for it.

Walkthrough

Part 03 of The Fellowship Quest

Speak with Luto Mewrilah in Upper Jeuno yet again to start this quest. You will now need to go to Cargo Room B in Port San d'Oria and speak with Portaure.

After you are done with this cutscene, proceed to the hut in Ghelsba Outpost (same hut as the one for "Save the Children" San d'Oria Rank Mission, and The Holy Crest.) Once you click on the hut door you will be able to enter the last battle for the Fellowship set of quests. This battle is a BCNM 40 and you are able to take a maximum of 3 people into the battle. Your fellow will jump in about halfway through the battle. You can only bring in players that have not finished the Fellowship quest and require this same BCNM. For each player that enters, an additional Wyvern will spawn.

Once you have completed the battle, return to Upper Jeuno and speak to Luto Mewrilah to finish this quest and get your Signal Pearl to call your fellow.

Hey everyone.

My NPC just lvld to 31. I talked to Luto Mewrilah again, and she told me about changing my NCP's weapon. So I tried a few things...First I tried a Kaiser Sword (really cheap on Bismarck), nothin. Then I saw some using a Great Katana. So I asked my LS for advice, they said I need a simple weapon...So I go out and buy a Tachi(Lv.8 Great Katana) and she still won't take it. Anyone know what to do for this?

NPC Job Change...How?!
# Jul 31 2005 at 4:00 PM Rating: Decent
Can someone tell me how to change the NPC's job class? Do you have to talk to the original quest giver back in Jeuno, or what? ((Help me out!)) ((please))

RE: NPC Job Change...How?!

I solod this as 38whm/blm with all my gear capped @ lvl 30 for Promies. I cast banish, banish 2, and banishga, then my buddy appeared. I went thru those spells 1 more time then cast a blm nuke and killed it.

I've played w/ my buddy a few times then went to change her set up. When I chose the "Let's chat" option, she espressed a worry about the girl you saved in Eldieme. When I talk to the quest giver, she says to come back later for more jobs. I think there's more to this quest. Has any one been able to get another part?

side- I hope there's a way to get your buddy to stay longer than about 10 kills.

I solo'd the Carrion Dragon today.
Job: 30DRG/15WAR

Used Call Wyvern, Ancient Circle,
Meat Mithkabob x 1,
and X-Potion x 1

So I'm guessing any LVL30 DRG/WAR could do this with these items and abilities.
Happy Hunting!

It's probable that you need Fame of 5, I'm not sure, because I actually started the quest by accident. Saw a small group of people standing around a mithra, so I decided to chat to see what she said. Mentioned tracking down people on her list so, thinking that is was similar to the "Discerning eye" quest, went ahead and started it. I was Fame 5 and Sandy rank 4 when i started the quest. Hope this helps.

Went in solo as a MNK/WHM with whatever lv40 gear I could find in my mog safe, and cheap items to fill the slots that were empty.

Went in, buffed myself with a mithkabob, protect, shell, and blink. I then started the fight by casting Paralyze, Slow, and Dia. I then activated Hundred Fists and before my two-hour ended, the dragon was dead and had not even taken me down halfway. I even forgot to use dodge/focus or any weaponskills.

Log parser said I had 100% accuracy, and the dragon had a shade less than 1300 HP. Easy fight to solo, just go in with a plan and don't fret.

This BCNM was an absolute joke. I went in as WHM and I had a NIN friend come along to tank just in case things went a bit haywire solo.

1/3 of the way through the fight our NPCs entered the fray, and the dragon was dead within 20 seconds.

None of us even took a hit. Just treat this as an EXP mob, he really isn't worth being scared of.
Easy fight

Soloed the dragon as a 36 BLM with 6 nukes and 1 Bind. It was a joke. It took 230+ damage on tier II nukes.

Edit: Oh, and on that note, you do NOT need level 40 to start this quest.

The rendezvous point in North San d'Oria is by the entrance to the residential area. It is on the path shortly after you cross the bridge.

Dinged my NPC on lvl 31 while camping Deadly Dodo. This was the third time I'd called her. The mobs I was fighting were too weak, but the NPC still gets xp, apparently.
Found another discovery. I switched to my Mithra main thf character to help insure my Dodo camp partner got his skin, and found I could SATA my NPC buddy. we even managd a sc, npc buddy popped Fast Blade, and I SATA'd him with Viper Bite, for a rather large SC bonus. My camp partner, a lvl 54 drk, was rather envious lol.

I fought this dragon solo as a level 34 rdm. It wasn't that easy, but I made it out alive (285 hp, 10 mp left, wearing 2 astral rings). I drained at least twice, so that helped.
After you get your NPC Buddy... what next?

Hi. Just wanted to share that I did the lv40 cap Dragon fight with two others RDM, MNK and BLM.

  • The BLM did Firaga during first part and second part of fight. 272 damage twice I believe.
  • Heh... could he have soloed it? I wonder. ><

  • P.S. Did you know? If you wanted to, you can watch the dragon fight by looking over the fence! o.O

So far i've called Pimy ( mithra ) only 2 times
the first time she stayed for 25 minutes, then left, she was using Shield style and had scale armor on.
2nd time i changed her to attacker, and when i called her, she was in breastplate armor, but it seems she was still using a sword and shield, but no longer provoked. She lasted 20 minutes this time.
Now I went to check her at the rondevous point, and now she has on full Mythril breastplate class armor except for her boots which are still scale.
I'm a lvl 48 rdm killing EVERYTHING i pass in rolanberry, whether it gives me exp or not ( i usually try to go for exp mobs tho ) i have probably gotten her around 150-200 exp tho, if it is split directly 1/2 with what i got.

    Peace of Cake

I did this today for a hr ago or so. Easy battle I was WAR40/NIN12 (dosent have NIN lvled so much >.<) I run in casted utsusemi and then attacked him. After 3 secs or so I used berserk. My shadows was gone pretty fast.. Casted utsusemi again then my Mithra friend (Pimy) came. I used Mighty Strikes to try and end it up fast. She voked and we did it well. When I got 100 tp I finished it off with a Raging Axe. Pretty easy fight. Almost record! The record is 1.31 I think with three ppl! I got 2.23 as one! Now me and Pimy lvls together in rounfaure :P xD

lol, remember me Bulate? XD anyways. . . I did it yesterday too, in a much easier way, there was me, a 39 Whm, & a friend, 45 Rdm. If we had known it was so easy, we would have just charged in, but we ended up killing the dragon at about five min into it.
How do you make your NPC stay longer?
    # Jul 25 2005 at 5:21 AM Rating: Default
How do you make your NPC stay longer? I have called her for 5 times in total now, I only use her to farm with me as a additional dmg.

Every ******* time she only stay for like 5~10min and my friend's NPC stay like ******* 30min ~ 1hr !!! This is so unfair!! t(x_X)t

If anyone know please tell me >_<

    # Jul 25 2005 at 11:10 AM Rating: Decent
If you talk to her once she will leave talk to her again to have her stay. If you zone she will leave. If you die she will leave. If she dies she will leave. If party exceeds 5 members she will leave (untested in alliance but I plan too). If someone else sommons there NPC while party is full both(all) NPCs will leave, The one will never show and both will have to wait to resummon. I understand the NPC will leave after a period of time reguardless, so I would not reley on It to be a replacement party member but rather a buddy to farm or skill up with. Perhaps with your buddy some job classes can actually fight easy prey and win.
    New Weapons for NPC?
    # Jul 25 2005 at 2:05 AM Rating: Decent
I've called my NPC 4 times now, and after she leaves each time I've gone to the Rendezvous Point and then gone and talked to Luto. The first three times nothing unordinary happened, but after the forth time when I spoke with Luto she told me that she can give my NPC a new weapon my trading it to her. I've tried trading a number of weapons, but nothing ever happens. Has anyone else gotten this message from Luto, and if so have you been able to trade any weapons to her? Much thanks in advance for any responses!
