Summary

Luto has recently discovered that another mirror bearing strange properties exists in the world. It is supposedly somewhere in San d'Oria and she wants you to go look for it.

Walkthrough

Part 03 of The Fellowship Quest

Speak with Luto Mewrilah in Upper Jeuno yet again to start this quest. You will now need to go to Cargo Room B in Port San d'Oria and speak with Portaure.

After you are done with this cutscene, proceed to the hut in Ghelsba Outpost (same hut as the one for "Save the Children" San d'Oria Rank Mission, and The Holy Crest.) Once you click on the hut door you will be able to enter the last battle for the Fellowship set of quests. This battle is a BCNM 40 and you are able to take a maximum of 3 people into the battle. Your fellow will jump in about halfway through the battle. You can only bring in players that have not finished the Fellowship quest and require this same BCNM. For each player that enters, an additional Wyvern will spawn.

Once you have completed the battle, return to Upper Jeuno and speak to Luto Mewrilah to finish this quest and get your Signal Pearl to call your fellow.

When you start giving Luto new/different weapons for your NPC, is there anyway to cahnge weapons randomly? or is your NPC stuck with the last one you gave her?
no need to feel...

Solo'd np as 40WAR/NIN (capped from 50/23) with cent gear and a few beetle armour items, bastokan sword and a cent sword in off hand. 3:01 i think, but would have been close to record if i hadnt waited on utsusemi recast before engaging. very very easy. It used "Petra-Eye" but following the advice of previous posts i turned away and it did indeed miss me ^^.

Easy job!

I went in as a lvl 32 blm/ 16 whm and soloed it.... since its a fire/dark dragon its weak against water and light...so i did water 2 on him and it took big chucks of like 100+ hp from him each time...within a not even a minute my npc jumped in i let her have some fun while i rested...then i got up cured her all the way then did a couple more water 2's on it and it died...one of the easiest ive seen so far

37sam/rdm soloing
# Apr 10 2006 at 6:29 PM Rating: Decent
I read what one WHM said about having to heal his NPC, so I went sam/rdm. I used protect, and laid down some debuffs. it was easy and smooth. didn't have to heal the npc at all because I had agro the entire time. NPC was at 100% hp.

I casted Blind, Dia, poison, slow, and paralyze on the dragon while he was trying to attack me. It was an easy solo-fight. I could have finished the fight as sam/rng like usual, but I wanted to play it safe.

Missing many times, this dragon went down fast. I ate Sole Sushi, used a Selbina milk, and kicked butt. I never had to cast CURE one time. and left with 372/546 (68%) hitpoints left. I'm sure i could have made it an easier fight. I messed up and stalled my attacks a few times by facing the wrong directions and not using Third eye or Meditate.

I used my 2-hour ability for samurai and kicked butt!!!!!! I used this too late and still had 104% TP left over.

Like i said before, I could have done this much more smoothly.

EDIT: Incase you didn't check the subject title, I did this as 37Samurai/Redmage

Just want to share.... I was really scared since, well, this is a BCNM40, and I'm only a 52whm/21blm. But a friend in the LS said it's easy to do, so I thought, whatever. I can take one death.

Went in as WHM52/BLM21, with 2 yagudo drinks. NO weapon and feet equip (because mine are AF) and just started fighting. After casting enfeebling magic (Dia2, Paralyze) and tossed in a Banish2, I started crazily looking for available BLM magic to toss at it. Suddenly, my NPC jumped in (and it's not at mid-fight. It's pretty much toward the beginning of the fight) and started fighting it. I buffed him up, and he was doing more damage than I am (XD) so I just sit back and cure him. The fight was over at 8 minutes, relatively slow in comparison.... But hey, if a whm can solo it... XD
EASY STUFF

I Soloed this as a lvl 40 NIN/WAR, Spammed Ni elementals in order fire > water > lightning etc.

Took only 2 min and 29 sec. Had to recast Utsusemi: Ni once. The Dragon didn't deal any damage to me.

Only buffs: Shadows
Easy quest

This quest is very easy soloed it as a 41drg/20war. The dragon didn't even get petrify off and i would've gotten the record time by myself ><. Anyways if your a drg i could safely say you could solo him in mid 30s. mages maybe mid-high 30s would be a little tough. Overall its a fairly easy quest. :) have fun with it.

When in solo as a lvl 37 DRG/RDM..lets just say this was my first experience of that 'dragon killer' trait being useful for anything. The dragon only hit me once and the NPC never. It kept getting intimated. If I only had a faster weapon I might have been able to beat the record.
hmm

So I went into this with my norm drk/war. Obviously capped at 40drk.

Was just shy a few seconds of the record. Prolly if i had used a lower delay weapon than a scythe i would have made it, but ah well.

Oh yea....battle was a breeze. My npc hardly ever hit, and when she did, it was only for a few points of damage. I was slashin for well over 130 damage without buffs though.

Easily beat this up a few months ago as a level 54 Paladin with only an Opaline Dress and my fists.

If this Dragon can be Pwnx0rzd by a giddy school girl in a new dress then I must defeat her or forever sulk in shame :(

Well I decided to give this a shot and try to solo the dragon as a 32nin/16war. I kept Utsusemi up and at first this was a piece of cake. Got the dragon down to 48% before i got hit once...and I got paralyzed. I couldnt get Utsu up anymore after that and the dragon killed my NPC. I was able to get the dragon down to 8% before i was about to die...so I 2hrd. I wonder if that still counts... I'm omw to Jeuno atm to find out if I get the signal pearl....even though I died but I still killed the dragon. XD

Because I died...I didnt't get the CS after the battle, therefore I didn't complete the quest. I woke up this morning and went back to the BCNM and owned the dragon in about 2 min 30sec as a 32nin/16war. After I knew what to do....and didn't get paralyzed the second time....this BCNM really wasn's a BCNM at all, it was way too easy (like evryone has said before).

Dragon fight
# Feb 26 2006 at 12:47 PM Rating: Decent
This info is incorrect. You cannot take two people witih you. It is a solo fight. It is, however, the EASIEST fight I've ever had. I was knocked down to 40RDM and the beast didn't even touch me. After I whacked off a quarter of it's HP my NPC shows up and we killed it in no time. This whole quest is soloable from start to finish. I love it.

you can take up to three people with you, but they all have to be at the same exact part of the quest
