Summary

Luto has recently discovered that another mirror bearing strange properties exists in the world. It is supposedly somewhere in San d'Oria and she wants you to go look for it.

Walkthrough

Part 03 of The Fellowship Quest

Speak with Luto Mewrilah in Upper Jeuno yet again to start this quest. You will now need to go to Cargo Room B in Port San d'Oria and speak with Portaure.

After you are done with this cutscene, proceed to the hut in Ghelsba Outpost (same hut as the one for "Save the Children" San d'Oria Rank Mission, and The Holy Crest.) Once you click on the hut door you will be able to enter the last battle for the Fellowship set of quests. This battle is a BCNM 40 and you are able to take a maximum of 3 people into the battle. Your fellow will jump in about halfway through the battle. You can only bring in players that have not finished the Fellowship quest and require this same BCNM. For each player that enters, an additional Wyvern will spawn.

Once you have completed the battle, return to Upper Jeuno and speak to Luto Mewrilah to finish this quest and get your Signal Pearl to call your fellow.

this fight is retardly easy.

solod it as 40nin/blm (warp ftw)

didnt bother with utsusemi, or debuffs.

basic strategy was attack, afk, came back during cs, /slapped my npc when it voked, attacked and afk'd the rest of the fight, lol
The Dragon

[Whitesmoke][/Whitesmoke][sm][/sm]let me tell you all something. I soloed this dragon yesterday. Everyone told me it was gonna be hard and that I needed alot of potions. I went as 40drk/20blu... yes i know blu subbed for drk is crazy but I dont party with blu subbed. I think it was 1 min 54 secs the whole battle time. Dont let nobody tell you that this is hard. The dragon is a pushover.
Best time in Garuda
# Jan 24 2007 at 1:15 PM Rating: Decent
Went today as a level 49 Monk/Ninja. Got the best time on Garuda with 2 minutes and 1 second.
very easy

Just solo'd it as Mnk31/Nin15, no food, put shadows up once. Used Hundred Fists @ start of the fight. Half way thru 2hr i got the CS, but when it cleared, i attacked the dragon again and continued the 2hr. combo WS ftw!

An easy solo as a Level 40RDM/BLM, especially considering I messed up a few things before I started fighting.

Cast all my buffs before I clicked on the hut, and promptly lost them all (duh...). Then I forgot Refresh was Level 41, and in the panic just cast Protect II before rushing at the Dragon...

Did a few enfeebles (but not that many), kept plugging away at it with physical attacks. NPC showed up near the end, a few more hits and it went down. No cures necessary, easy as pie.

Duoed with a NIN. Enfeebled and nuked. Owned. Naked. Easiest battle ever.
not so tough
# Jan 04 2007 at 11:00 PM Rating: Decent
I went in as a 32Drg/Rdm and he didnt pose too much of a problem. I entered the battlefield then spent a minute just putting buffs like barparalize and protect on, rested, then fought him from his back. It wasnt long before my NPC showed up and took most of the hate off of me. Two jumps, two cureII's, a weaponskill and a valiant effort from my wyvern 'Oscar' (he delivered the finishing blow!) and the beast was no more. At the end both I and my NPC were paralized but it didnt matter. This wyrm was definately easier than the skeleton.

And I now have a spunky little brown haired hottie for arm candy :)
A good day had by all!
...except mabye the wyrm.
...And the dozen or so orc's I slaughtered on the way to the hut.

But I guess every day is a bad day for an orc.
soloed as level 30pld

I just soloed this as pld30/war15. just make sure you have fish kabobs and yag drinks. It is pretty easy. Don't stand in front of the dragon.

Solo As 40WAR/20NIN
# Dec 15 2006 at 2:55 PM Rating: Decent
Just solod this as a 40WAR/20NIN. Just ate a chief meatkabob and had shadows up. This is a sorry excuse for an NM. Cleared it in 2 min 45 seconds. Could of been faster if i 2hr but didnt want to waste it. Really Easy fight.

Just set the record for this on Quetzalcoatl with 2:04. Soloed as SAM40/WAR20. Used a Meditate with Hasso then used 2 hour. This Dragon went down fast. Didn't have all my armor i had at level 40 but still did fine

I just finished "Mirror, Mirror" and at 1st I was kinda sketchy about the dragon...now I don't really know y, it was really easy. I did it as a WAR30/SAM15 :x sam for Store TP <3 also brought along High-Potions x5 just in case....didnt even need any :D Mighty Strikes, Third Eye, and my NPC's lovely Prov was enough to do it. so for thoz who are like me and were semi-sketchy about going at 30 GoOoOo its so very easy ^_^
Min Level to get quest is incorrect...

I just finished this quest as a 30THF/10NIN. Since Thief is my highest level job, 40 obviously cannot be the minimum level to get this quest. Sorry, I don't remember what level I was actually at when I first got this quest, but I think it was 25 THF/MNK.
Min Level to get quest is incorrect...

Rank 4 is the main thing to have for the NPC quest

is there a way to redo this quest if you lose your pearl?
when you talk to Luto Mewrilah she says if you want to start over you need to give back your old pearl.

thanks in advance for any help on this

talk to npc @ rendezvous point and get your pearl back. Find rendezvous point outside MH in one of the zones in each nation and one in ru'lude gardens.

Ok i went in capped as a palladin/warior at 40/20 used a handy blink band cast protect then flashed the dragon and that was that time was 3:03 record was like 2:38 on remora so if you are afraid dont be this thing is a chump flash kept the hate so npc never got touched and no petrification i think i should have done it as dragoon could have had the record heh
...weakling
# Oct 24 2006 at 10:28 AM Rating: Decent

So just did this last night. I solo'd with my Galka 30War/Mnk. Gear is nothing to speak of.(Strong vest, chain for rest, War belt +1, Tiger Stole, Stamina and Amber rings, Neckchopper Great Axe) My LS buddy buffed me before entering (don't even know if they stuck when I entered, never bothered looking...lol)Had some hi potions expecting for the worst, bought some cheap Boiled Crayfish just for a little extra. soon as I entered used Dodge and just started pounding away. Countered a few times for about 90ish, consistant hits from 40-60's. barely took any damage. Didn't even look at using Potions ever. Left with health in Yellow, but overall the fight was ridiculously easy. No time records, but just wanted to finish fight. I am pretty new to the game, but I suppose I don't understand what it means to say this is a Lvl 40 NM. I've gotten owned by mobs that say they were EP and compared to them, this guy hits like a little girl. Noone except maybe a taru (no offense other char is taru Blm) should conceivably have too much trouble with this guy. Even then I doubt would be much to brag about. On a side note <Berserk> + <Boost> + <Sturmwind> + 300% TP = Mob HP <Run Away!>
level 40? really?
# Oct 11 2006 at 11:43 PM Rating: Decent
not too sure why the guide states you need a minimum level of 40. quest requirement is actually rank 4, i think. 2 friends and i did it when 1 of us was still a level 30ish. :)

do note though, there's a level cap of 40 for the dragon so make sure your armor's within the range.

i've fought the dragon twice. 1st was solo as a level 40ish whm - it's doable, just buff urself like crazy, heal to full mp and then enfeeb the dragon like crazy before you start to fight... your npc comes halfway through to help anyway. 2nd time was with the group mentioned above (40ish drg, 30ish war). that was a piece of cake. :P

very fun quest. :)

level 40? really?
# Oct 12 2006 at 1:15 PM Rating: Decent
YOu are correct, this quest only requires that you be Rank 4 and minimum level of 30 to do. I soloed the dragon when I was a 32 Monk/WAR....easy fight, PWN with Hundred Fists when NPC showed up and fight was done in a minute while my LS watched and cheered on.WOOT!
I got it!
# Oct 11 2006 at 8:51 PM Rating: Decent
I did this bcnm as a 31drk/15blu. I had to try 3x. The first time I was so nervous I forgot buffs/food/etc. I got my **** handed to me. But it was really close to death b4 it wiped me out. So I figured I could do it if I didnt forget anything. Tried again. I got petrified early in the fight, npc had all the hate and there was nothing I could do about it! Npc dead, we try again. I got in, cast my blu buffs, ate a mithkabob. I cast battle dance, feather storm, and sprout smack. From there I pretty much owned that dragon but it did get me down to about 60% health. Now I've got my pearl. ^.^ </cheer>

Wow....this NM was pathetic. I soloed it as RDM40/NIN12 thinking it was going to be a lot harder... Nope. It never once broke my Stoneskin. My gear was...well, I had Beetle Harness +1, some San d'Oria gear, etc. Was all leftover from other jobs and stuff. I used Utsusemi a couple times, and wanted my tools back afterward... XD

But yeah. Never touched me. I even had a couple Longswords to dual weild. Beat him fast too... Was fun to dish out death so easily to a BCNM. If only ALL BCNMs were that easy. >.>
having trouble getting the quest
