Summary

Luto has recently discovered that another mirror bearing strange properties exists in the world. It is supposedly somewhere in San d'Oria and she wants you to go look for it.

Walkthrough

Part 03 of The Fellowship Quest

Speak with Luto Mewrilah in Upper Jeuno yet again to start this quest. You will now need to go to Cargo Room B in Port San d'Oria and speak with Portaure.

After you are done with this cutscene, proceed to the hut in Ghelsba Outpost (same hut as the one for "Save the Children" San d'Oria Rank Mission, and The Holy Crest.) Once you click on the hut door you will be able to enter the last battle for the Fellowship set of quests. This battle is a BCNM 40 and you are able to take a maximum of 3 people into the battle. Your fellow will jump in about halfway through the battle. You can only bring in players that have not finished the Fellowship quest and require this same BCNM. For each player that enters, an additional Wyvern will spawn.

Once you have completed the battle, return to Upper Jeuno and speak to Luto Mewrilah to finish this quest and get your Signal Pearl to call your fellow.

just destroyed this as BLU40/NIN20 took it out in 2 mins 18 seconds.

hehe didnt even cast a single buff on myself.
easy
# Jul 27 2009 at 3:52 AM Rating: Decent
incredibly easy did it capped as 40 pld/war putting up protect and shell was a waste of time >.<
Super easy!

As a lvl 40 Blm/Whm I felt like I over prepared after killing the creature. I buffed using protect, blaze spikes, and aquaveil. I killed the creature using four Fire II spells, 4 spells! That was a waste of time! Anyway, I got my pearl. Woot! ^^

I just did this quest last night with a friend. I was THF/NIN 40, he was BLM/WHM 40 (due to level restriction). Only one mob spawned even though there were indeed two of us. Where did this information come from?

Oh.. and some tips that are obvious:

Any buffs you enter with will disappear, like any other bcnm.
TP will also be reduced back to 0%. Haha to me. I went around oneshot killing everything in the area to get my TP to 300% beforehand. Well phooey.

It was much much easier than we thought it would be. My friend's fellow took longer than mine to actually start attacking the darn thing. That was worrisome. The battle ended with my HP full and my friend's hp at around 250.
almost!!

I was five seconds off from having the best time!!!! I did this fight in two minutes 41 seconds and the best time was two minutes and 36 seconds. Damn.

I went in as War/Nin... kept utsusemi up for some of it, I didn't really bother even though I had Berserk up. My npc took some of the hate but I was duel-wielding axes and attacking nearly 4 times each turn so I don't bother so much with Utsusemi. He was pie.

and I like pie.

Did this as Tarutaru Beastmaster, level 40 due to cap. Had RSE hands and feet, Centurion's Visor, Royal Squire's Chainmail, and Royal Squire's legs (Mufflers, I think, although I may be wrong about the exact item.) Used White Mage as subjob, Barbaroi Axe, Balance Buckler, Warrior's Belt, Reraise Earring (x2), Spike Necklace, and Balance/Stamina Rings.

When the BC started, I buffed with Protect and Shell, then used Call Beast with Meat Broth for TigerFamiliar. Engaged it, the Tiger had little problem keeping hate, and both it and I were hitting for around 40-60 with the Tiger hitting for 90 on a critical. Got it down to about 20% before the NPC showed up, and from there it was about 15 seconds more before it was defeated. No cures needed on either of us, no food used.

I highly recommend you don't stress about this one. Go in with fighting gear on, and as long as you keep your cool, this should be a pretty simple fight. For you true-blooded fighters out there, I'd rank it as a Decent Challenge. Offensive Mages should have little trouble, though it might be more difficult than for melee classes, and White Mages and Bards should be careful about their HP.

I hate all of you that said "oh, it's a piece of cake." Everyone forgot to mention this ******* petrifies. I had him down to 20%, all going well, figured I had it made. Bam!!! He petrifies me and my npc. So I sat there for the rest of the fight stoned and unable to do anything.

When the petrify finally wore off he hit me with it immediately, before I could say wtf!! Just kept hitting me til I was dead. Needless to say I was p!ssed as ****. Hadn't even thought to put up barpetrify.

This was as rdm/nin so was a piece of cake til I was stoned to death. And I'm not sure how to avoid the petrify spell he casts. Gonna make another attempt but apparently you have to wait for a while after you fail in order to try again. Another thing no one bothered to mention. What a waste of time.

Just completed this with my 37BLM/18WHM.

Fairly straightforward to complete really, dragon is not that strong.
Once inside, protect and shell, then put up slow and paralyze plus bio II and started hitting it. When the NPC appeared, went blind side of mob to avoid petrify, cast StoneII and AeroII, cured NPC once and finished it off with club.

Lost maybe 200 HP in fight, didnt cure myself, 150 MP left, no drinks or food used.

Just did this as a 36whm/18blm went in buffed with protect/shell stoneskin/blink then ate a melon pie rested. started off with elemental seal and blizzard. then dia 2 then banish 2. after that my npc came in. he voked and i casted stoneskin again and then banish 2. that did the most damage to him cause i had hate the whole time. banish two did 198 damage to him. i used two hi potions at the time just to make sure i would win but if you wanted to cast cure 2 you could have lol. i was nervous about this fight but it was very easy. i would say this dragon is level 30 cause as a taru whm i was hitting him for 30 with my maul lol. done in 6 minutes lol. if you a white mage dont be scared stoneskin is your friend.

WHM soloed

I soloed this with 33WHM/16BLM. Start of battle, buffed myself with Reraise, Stoneskin, Protect II and Shell. Rested for MP and Shocked the dragon. Beat on him till NPC arrived. I healed the NPC all throughout the fight and Stonega'd the dragon to death. Lost only ~100 HP and got down to 15 MP. All earth-based WS's and spells are lethal to the dragon. Best of luck to you guys!
Easier than the Eldieme Necropolis NM previously.
# Sep 08 2007 at 3:13 AM Rating: Decent
Don't be intimidated by the fact this is a BCNM, the only reason it's a BCNM is to stop you bringing your 75 mate to hold your hand.

Solo'ed this capped 40 Samurai and lost 200hp, and that was being careless with Thirdeye.

Lower levels could easily solo it, it was more trouble to deal with the Gazer down in Eldieme Necropolis during the previous quest.

i did this as a lv 35drg/war with a lv35pal/nin so easy to like 5 min. to kill the dragon. i think a lv 40drg/nin could solo it but its better if u got 1 other person.
Multiple People
# Aug 05 2007 at 1:24 PM Rating: Decent
It is possible to have more than one person in your party to do this quest. The limiting factor is that all people have to be completeing Mirror-Mirror. We had a party of two, 40 PLD/War and 39 MNK/War. Dragon was a pushover. No need for any sklls or food. Part way through the fight you get a cutscene and your NPC buddies join. After killing the dragon we both returned to Jeuno and got our signal pearls.

FYI, when you enter the battle, all buffs and TP are lost.

1st time i lost because i was petridied and NPC provoked and died so get some resist petrify food and u should be good. .. . .This fights rather easy but just try and use some resist pertify food it can save your NPC from dying anyways yeah i raped him with thf/nin 350satav :)
It really is soloable.
# Jul 14 2007 at 4:55 AM Rating: Decent
To anybody who fears this fight, don't worry too much. It's just scary because the adversary is a dragon and your level is restricted to 40.
I just did it with Drg/Whm I don't know if I was lucky or not, but he didn't hit me once. I just did blink and ate some cheap food (meat jearky). I used Ancient Circle just after engaging it (Protection against Dragons) So that maybe explains why the battle was easier. But harder than my fight, you'd probably be hit one or two times :p .

Hope that helps.

PS: I didn't have any evasion gear. Even worse, I had a Tilt Belt equiped which does Acc+5 and Eva-5.
32WAR/16MNK, ftw!

I was somewhat nervous about this fight, considering that it was capped at 40... but I decided to elvaan-up and give it a try. Gear was nothing special: Eisen set, Republic Subligar, Voulge, etc. I buffed with Sole Sushi and brought three hi-potions in case things started to turn south.

I walked in, buffed, stacked 9 boosts on me, dropped Berserk/Dodge/Mighty Strikes and got the cut scene after my fourth hit landed. When all was said and done, he took me down to 334/662 HP, but the fight was fairly one-sided. No hi-potions were used in the slaying of this beastie. Clear Time: 4 minutes 4 seconds.

So, if you're a DD at level 32 and know your job well this should be a relatively easy fight.
Soloing..
# May 19 2007 at 8:20 PM Rating: Decent
You guys keep saying "soloed as lvl such and such"....you HAVE to solo this. There is no option to bring in other people. You can bring up to 3 people into the battle zone, but each person has to have quest open and each will be fighting their OWN dragon- this was made to reduce battlefield waiting time when the quest first came out.

So quit saying you "soloed this", because that goes without saying. No one can do this quest without soloing it.
