In-Game Text

Tressia sends you to collect information on a thief in the Safehold. Speak to the NPCs Fouagine (Upper Level I-8), Zadant (Main Floor H-8), Noam (Lower Level G-9), and Raminey (Upper Level J-7) to gather information about the case.

Speak to Tressia again to put the information you received in order. Choose the NPCs in the order you visited them above.

Mengrenaux and Chemioue have forgotten the location of the NPCs you talked to. Speak to Mengrenaux to gather information from his reports, then speak to Chemioue to view her reports.

Next talk to Tressia to give the locations of the NPCs you spoke to. Again look above at the coordinates in the order listed and recite them to Tressia.

You may have noticed many ??? in a line around the Safehold. Go to the one at (G-9) near the NPC Noam to recover the treasure. Follow the ??? trail up the ramp and towards the main chamber of the Safehold. You'll get a cutscene where the thief narrowly escapes you.

Talk to Ondieulix for your reward.

NPC Order
# Apr 26 2006 at 1:06 AM Rating: Decent
Alright. I've seen several people confused about this quest, so I'll set it straight for everyone.

The stories from the NPC's are random. So you want to make sure you put the names in the order things happened. It goes like this:

1. Miledo looking around Tavnazia on the bridge.
2. Miledo looks at the altar.
3. Miledo waves to the guards.
4. Miledo jumps in the water and swims away.

So when she asks what order it happened in, it's that order according to whatever NPC tells you that part of the story.

The infamous Miledo-Shiraddo of THF AF, and the Bait and Switch bastok quest fame among other things makes his appearance doing what he does best, thieving.

Just a note on Zadant. He standing on the circular ramp to bottem floor, before it even slopes downward, but appears on that bottem floor map on widescan. I just thought I should post this to help any other n00bs like me who couldn't find him.

I did this quest today and well... I tried both of the suggested answers and I got nothing. So its considered random cuz I finally got it with:

...so I hope this sorta helps others... x.x" Try to solve it logically or make a table with all possiblities. :3 GL!

The order in the guide did not work for me (I got "Well, we can't tell anything from that."). When I followed the order of Rappa's comment, it was accepted.

So maybe it varies?

Just to clear this up, you don't report the people in the order that you talked to them. You have to report them in the order that follows the storyline. Here's the correct order for this quest:

Also, after picking up the treasure from the ground, be sure to head north and click on the ???s as you pass them. They should say something about a trail of water. The last one is right at the north end of the big bridge in the middle of the safehold.

This is incorrect.

I tried that order, and I got "Well, we can't tell anything from that"

The correct order is listed in the quest information above

Fouagine (I-8)
Zadant (H-8)
Noam (G-9)
Raminey (J-7)

That's strange, because when I tried this order it wouldn't work. It wouldn't work for my girlfriend either and we both talked to the npcs in the order you listed them. It worked for both of us when we used the order I listed above. There must be more to this that I'm missing, maybe it's random?

I know that the order in the guide did not work for me, and I just had to choose randomly until I got it. I don't remember what I chose for the order of names, but for the <pos>s, I chose the 1st choice, then the 2nd choice, then the 4th choice, then the 3rd choice.

A few quests open up after completing 3-5 and entering Chapter 4. I'm not sure if it's the same in this case, as I didn't try to activate the quest before then, but it's a probable guess.

Edit: Also, in Chapter 4, Justinius (who is just next to Tressia) plays a role. Chemioue, next to him, also has a quest (Petals for Parelbriaux) that starts after Chapter 4. With that information, I'd say Chapter 4 is a very likely prerequisate.

I found this quest after I had completed CoP 4-2. I'm not sure you have to be that far along but by then you can get it.

I'll write my status: I'm Promathia Mission 2-3, quests done in Tavnazia are "The call of the Sea", "A bitter past", "A Hard Day's Knight" and "Unforgiven"
