Summary

Luto has recently discovered that another mirror bearing strange properties exists in the world. It is supposedly somewhere in San d'Oria and she wants you to go look for it.

Walkthrough

Talk to Luto Mewrilah in Upper Jeuno. She asks that you find out information about the broken mirror from previous quests and sends you to the Optistery in Windurst to find a book on it. Go to the Optistery in Windurst Waters (north map) and speak with Tosuka-Porika (G-8) to get a cutscene involving Ritopopo, who is researching the mirrors of legend. Ritopopo has just found the information you seek and is unwilling to give it up. But, she's hungry. In order to share her information she asks you rather slyly to bring Tosuka-Porika the following:

After trading the items to Tosuka-Porika you will receive another cutscene and some information that you take back to Luto Mewrilah in Upper Jeuno. You receive another cutscene in Upper Jeuno and a suggestion by your fellow to find Palometa. Go to Port Jeuno and find Khumo Daramasteh (J-8) near the entryway to the Kazham airship docks and speak with her. Another cutscene follows with more information revealing a deeper plot... Reward is: Your feel your bond for friendship strengthening with your fellow.

Damn it. I'm doing this quest at the moment and got the whole damn meal except for Bison Steak. No stores sells it, its never on AH and my cookingskills are non-existant (sp?). How the hell am I suppose to get this steak. It will take forever to get my cooking skill high enough to make it myself.

No, Bison Steak is not sold from a vendor. It is crafted only.

I talked to Hariga-Origa, but he only shooed me away. I went to the other side of the Opistery and talked to Tosuka-Porika and he triggered the Cutscene.

Relevance to quest on posts
# Jun 24 2006 at 10:43 PM Rating: Decent
First off people, make sure you are posting under the CORRECT quest. I see posts here with information for other quests, which is wasted by posting it on this quest. Talking about going into a Promy or Jugner forest is not relevant to THIS quest. Secondly, I just got this quest, with my lv31 NPC, so the NPC level has nothing to do with the quest. I do, however, call her at the Rendezvous points often, even if for no real purpose. I have not traded new weapons to her yet (although I have tried a couple times). My Jeuno fame has been Hero level for quite a while, and I had not gotten this quest before, so it must have something to do with how often you talk to your NPC.

actually, your NPC says he sees the girl you rescued from Eldieme Necroplis with his mirror, he sees her in port Jeuno, so you go there, and presumably speak to as many NPCs as possible until someone says something that relates to this quest... and this happens to bet he Mithra near the homepoint. You then get a long cutscene involving the little girl, and you finally finish the quest.
bad guide

the npc in windy is Tosuka-Porika..This guide sucks sometimes...The NPC Hariga-Origa (F-8) gives you a map quest

My npc is lvl 38 and I never bothered with a weapons upgrade since he's a healer and im a mnk. Did get the quest today so I guess the weaponupgrade is NOT
necesary to get the quest.
What's needed for quest
# Mar 04 2006 at 3:58 PM Rating: Default
I've seen a few comments about what you need to do to get this quest, some of which are wrong.

You MUST talk to your NPC at the randevouz point often to get the quest. I have called her maybe a dozen times or so (but less than 20) to fight and her level is 32. I had recently gotten the "Apperance" option (which is Bronze Cap right now). I had not called her since, but I just talked to her then went to Luto. She gave me the quest.
Basically, every time you are in Jeuno, go talk to your NPC Fellow, regardless of whether you recently called to level/fight.

you dont HAVE to talk to them at the R.points, it just increases the bonds a hell of a lot faster and allows you more options.

The NPC you are to visit first in windy is Tosuka-Proika at G-8 not Hariga-Origa (F-8.

ok stupid question ive got the pearl and equipped it how do i call the npc? at rendevous point? where the hell is that?
RE: im lost
# Apr 27 2006 at 7:23 AM Rating: Decent
rendevous points are located outside the moghouses in windy, sandy and bastok. I think there is only one point per city and they are located in the gardens up in jeuno pretty close to the entrance/exit to upper jeuno
I use http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/index.php/Adventuring_Fellow_Guide#Obtaining_the_Signal_Pearl for my npc info
RE: im lost
# Feb 18 2006 at 8:50 PM Rating: Decent
Well once you get the pearl you equip it as an earring. After like ten seconds it becomes active. Then you go into your items and use it and you summon your NPC.

I decided I wanted to do the NPC quests over again because I wasn't happy with the one I'd chosen. I went to talk to Luto to start over, and she automatically initiated this quest. I had already done the first weapon upgrade, but not the second. I talked to ger again without doing the quest and told her I wanted to start over.

Since then, I've leveled my new NPC to 32, called her many times, talked to her at Rendezvous Points every day and done two weapon upgrades, and still not gotten this quest again. So I'd guess that my asking to start over somehow set me back and has delayed this quest.

after i did this quest i talked to my NPC at the rendevous point, and there was a new option added. Lets talk about appearance. so i got a new headgear, but its a green ribbon. it almost looks specific to my model NPC. i have a blonde mithra with hair tied back and the green ribbon looks to be on the back of her head, although im not quite sure what it looks like because i already summoned her today. well il see about this tomorrow when im levelling her i guess.

(related mobs should be changed to also since Hariga-Origa has nothing to do with this quest)

have you been droping you pearl? dont. you lose affinity with ur npc. everytime after you call and lv ur npc, talk to ur npc at the rendezvous point and talk to luto...it builds affinity...hope it helps
after getting the book...
# Jan 01 2006 at 5:11 AM Rating: Good
head back to talk to luto. she says something about seeing the little girl by the airship docks, so head down there... just past the entrance to the kazam airship, the npc to talk to is: Khumo Daramasteh which spawns a long cutscene finishing the mission.
Correct NPC
# Dec 21 2005 at 4:15 PM Rating: Decent
As previously stated Hariga-Origa has nothing to do with this quest. After arriving in Windy head to the Optistery in Windhurst Waters G-8 and talk to Tosuka-Porika. Tosuka-Porika is the NPC that will give you the cutscene about the book. Hope this helps. Good Luck!
Grrr...

I've opened this quest - it's in my quest log - but I don't get the cutscene from Tosuka-Porika.

I don't have any other quests from him open (I just did one), and I have max Windy fame.

I've already done this quest on Likibiki with no problems... but I just can't seem to get the cutscene...

Any ideas?
Um... why?

I talked with Hariga-Origa and got the CS for the map quest. After completing the quest I zoned and came back to talk to him. But no CS for NPC quest to follow up Luto's first CS. Any information on what I should do wold be appreciated.

The NPC you want to speak to after Luto is Tosuka-Porika in the right building of the Opistery.

promy
# Dec 05 2005 at 12:21 PM Rating: Decent
the NPC will ask player to help with somethign in one of the promy. the randevouz point is insde promy so you probably have to erase some memories before u enter. secondly, ur lookign for a ??? on the first level so dont try to fignt the NM to get to up levels. she gets XP when quest i done. also note that you hve 45 minutes to complete quests, which confirms that the aloted time to keep NPC out at any given time is 45 minutes. my guess is, SE will make more promy quests to increase vairus aspect of the NPC like staying longer etc...
