Summary

Mishhar wants you to find out what Isween is doing out in the Wajaom Woodlands at night.

Walkthrough

Talk to Mishhar to begin the quest. He will ask you to find Isween in Wajaom Woodlands. Head out to the woods and find the ??? at (K-7). Wait until it is after 20:00 and examine the ???. Fomors are all around, so be careful.

Head back to Mishhar for a cutscene. Head to Mamook at the entrance at (E-12) in Wajaom Woodlands. Make sure you keep yourself invisible. At the end of the tunnel at (L-9) there should be a ???. Wait for a good time and take your invisible effect off, then examine the ???.

Return to Mishhar for the final cutscene and your reward.

True sight mamool

...Mamools that rate IT to a 75 are true sight. I've ran into them multiple times... when I say multiple I mean probably 10+ times, died every time. Anyone that doesn't believe me can go check for themselves...

This quest consists of two parts.

The first part requires a short trip to Wajaom Woodlands. Caia's post correctly points out the location (K-7) of the ??? that needs to be checked. Go there after 8 pm. The place is right outside the town, so don't waste your gil on Chokobo.

After watching the cutscene, go back to Mishhar in Whitegate.

The second part requires a slightly more excitable trip into Mamook. Enter from E-12 in Wajaom Woodlands, and the ??? lies at L-9 (as Kxpuc posted).

Normally there are two Mamool Ja mobs near the ??? point. They don't have true sight, so if entered from the E-12 (as opposed to trekking across Mamook dungeon), players casting Invisible or using Prism Powder can approach it undetected.

You do need to remove invisibility in order to check the ???. You won't be attacked once the cutscene starts and while it lasts. However, once it ends, sooner or later they'll come after you. Casting Stoneskin or Utsusemi before approaching the ??? point might be a good idea. Or maybe sub THF and use Flee. Anyway, zoning is just a short sprint away, so no need to fight the mobs ... just run.

Hope this helps.

I entered at D-12 and had to escape out because of aggro. The escape took me to the E-12 entrance and the ??? was just around the corner. Each time i tried this with a friend it was at L9. Escaping seems the easiest way. Hope this helps.

true sight in Mamook

Mamool Ja Lurker is 100% true sight. So is the Mamool Jas beyond him. Mamool Ja Philosopher and I don't remember the other names. I think a good rule of thumb is if its over Tough to a 75, it is true sight in Mamook. They DO see through your costume too, from viscous liquid.

I dunno about the ones in Mamook, but the IT ones in Wajaom near the Mamool Ja Staging Point (which you have to go through Mamook to get to) are certainly not true sight. I ran all around them with sneak/invis up, and never got aggroed. Philosophers were one of those mobs.

Ok then it is only the ones in Mamook beyond the Mamool Ja Lurkers in the cave there. Thanks for the info!

The Mamool in Mamook ARE NOT True sight just to clear this matter up! They simply Detect by sight. I'd love to know how you thought they were True sight tho?

Um, I heard that Mamook had scent agro mobs, so I used all 3 sneak/deo/invis and never got agro. Needs to be tested whether Lurker is sent or truesight.

Just finsished this, but my details are very sketchy.

After flagging the quest you have to wait until night time. Go to K-7 in Wajaom Woodlands. Look on the south wall there and you should find a ???. Click on it and get a cut scene.

Go back and talk to the NPC that started the quest (Harsim or something like that). Get another cutscene.

Next you have to go to Mamook and find a ???. Due to a lot of agrro, I don't have the exact location when we found it. However, I ended up Escaping out, and when we went back in, the ??? was right near the entrance. I've no clue if that was a fluke or what, but that's how we found it. Click on it for another cutscene.

Finally go back to the starting NPC and talk to him for a final cutscene. Your reward is a Silver Imperial piece.

Few other odds and ends... All the mobs were EP-VT for a level 75. There was at least one with truesight with "Lurker" in its name.

Feel free to fill in te details I'm missing.

I entered Mamook from the E-12 entrance of Wajaom Woodlands and the ??? was just up a short path. There was only one Mamool Ja to sneak by. No other ??? in Mamook was necessary to finish the quest.

While the two entrances to Mamook from Wajaom (the third is one-way from Mamook) are near each other from the Wajaom side, they're not immediately connected on the Mamook side, so save yourself from trouble and enter from Wajaom E-12.

Unless, of course, this rumor that the ??? moves around turns out to be true.

And the entrance you returned to was the one nearest the Escape point?

That would be very cool since dungeons tend to have just one Escape spot no matter how many entrances there are.

As long as the ??? doesn't randomly pop around the zone. :P

I found the ??? in the same place as everyone else. I zoned and came back to help a friend finish the quest, and it was in the exact same spot for him as it was for me. This leads me to believe that the ??? does not simply jump around the zone.

It was a little nerve-wracking to drop invis and click the ??? knowing that the Mamool Ja standing there would probably be looking right at me when I finished the cutscene. He was, but he didn't aggro while I re-applied invis.

First time I ever entered into Mamook I saw that ??? near the entrance by that post. I think that you might just need to click both. Maybe it does move around. I didn't have the cut scenes up to the Mamook part, but I got them since. Ill go back and see if that ??? is still there at the entrance and report back.
