Mission Orders

The fifth verse of "Memoria de la S^tona" has been discovered. Now, with the help of Cid, you must fly beyond the sea of clouds and face Bahamut for what may be the final time...

Walkthrough

Congratulations! You've made it to the infamous airship battle! Be prepared to bust out every bit of skill you have in this game because it's one rough (and time consuming) ride.

This battle consists of three separate fights and you are given a total of 45 minutes to kill all of your enemies. While you may think this sounds like a lot of time, once you're in there time flies like you wouldn't believe.

Recommended medicines:

Yellow liquids (for mammets) CCB Polymer Pumps Vile Elixir Vile Elixir +1 Hi-Potions Hi-Ethers Yagudo Drinks Reraise items

Due to the time constraint, have everyone zone in and watch the cutscene, then exit back out again. This way you can jump right into the battle and save yourself a few precious minutes. If someone leaves the zone, they must view the cutscene again. Make sure your party members know that you are in a time crunch and that they should just jam through the cutscenes in the middle and view them later.

Once everyone is in, turn around and check the airship door and choose the option to continue the battle. You will first face 5 Mammet-22 Zeta, who cannot be slept. Try as much as you can to kill these guys without using any two hours or medicines and most importantly, without dying. If someone dies you should consider just starting the fight over from the beginning. Make sure to use those yellow liquids to lock them into Dragoon mode. These mobs have a lot of AoE attacks so it's best to keep them spread out. Once you have killed all five, you will be taken to an empty airship fully rested and healed. (thank goodness!!) Check the door to view the next cutscene. Jam through it to save on time.

After the cutscene, you will be on the airship with Omega. Omega has many directional AoE attacks, so make sure that he is facing away from your mages. Your white mage will have to be ready with Paralyna and Stona. The CCB Polymer Pump will stop up his gears and make him a little easier to take on, but they only last for a bit, which is why everyone in your party should have one.

It's important to note that you cannot cast for several seconds after using a pump, so do NOT assign your white mage to use a pump as it can mean the death of your tank. It's not recommended to have a NIN tank use it either because the pump takes a while to use. You can have red or black mages or other melee use them and then trade the ones from tanks and healers for the next fight.

After you defeat Omega, you will be taken to another empty ship fully rested and healed. Check the door to view the next cutscene and you will be transported to the airship with Ultima.

Ultima has multiple AoE attacks that Paralyze, Slow, Petrify, and in general just whoop your ass. Hopefully you still have 3-4 CCB Polymer Pumps left for this bad boy because he can get seriously nasty. Make sure EVERYONE has Reraise on and knows that if you decide to wipe, do so where you came in so that you can rest up and have a go at him again.

Maybe it was my imagination, but Lightning weather seemed to make the fight easier.

Once you defeat Ultima, you will find yourself in Lufaise Meadows. Feel free to rifle through the pockets of those pesky Tarutarus and score yourself a Ducal Guard's Ring! They probably stole it from Wolfgang anyway, so don't feel bad.

Wow... Just wow! That had to be the funnest thing I've ever done on FFXI. I know, I'll probably get flamed by some people who are stuck on it, but for me, that is the truth. I did this with my LS, two parties completed it in the same night. We beat it in 33 out of the 45 minutes and brought 6 CCB Polymer Pumps, although due to a small misunderstanding, two were used at the same time and one got wasted. So we only had the effect of 5 Pumps. Nobody used any outstanding items. No Vile Elixir, and I didn't use any of the Pro-Ethers I brought. We did three dry runs for practice and to farm Yellow Liquids, so we had roughly a dozen of those. Then we did it for real, wiping only once to Omega and won. SO here's how it went down.

BLM/WHM, Garth (Me), Tarutaru
WHM/SMN, Minimax, Tarutau
BLU/???, Janeth, Mithra (Can't remember subjob. Fairly certain it wasn't NIN.)
SAM/WAR, Gairaiden, Hume
SAM/WAR, Teviont, Elvaan
PLD/WAR, Quietwolverine, Galka

Anyway, the Mammets were cake. Quietwolverine super-tanked them all and Teviont, Gairaiden, and Janeth all pulled off a Mammet each and soloed it at a different corner of the area to avoid AoE as much as possible. Minimax and I stood in the center. I had them call out if one of their Mammets went into BLM mode so I could Stun one of their -aga IIs, which seemed to help a lot. For the most part, I back-up healed and did some minor DD and Enfeebles, such as Slow, Choke, Paralyze, which I had no problem landing with capped Enfeebling Magic + Wizard's Coat. We just kept everyone alive and eventually, all the Mammets went down. There really isn't too much to say about this fight. Just lock them in DRG mode and you're good to go. I didn't see a huge need for /NIN on the melees since they either 1) Could Seigan tank well enough, 2) Could Cure themselves and/or 3) Minimax and I were doing a well enough job keeping everyone alive anyway. If anyone dies in this stage for whatever reason (Usually bad luck and getting multiple BLMs at once.), just exit and try again.

We started the Omega fight with 33 minutes remaining. Now contrary to common experience, this fight seemed a lot harder than the Ultima fight. Probably just luck, but I'll take it for whatever it is. We started off fully buffed and I Enfeebled, Stunned, and back-up healed for the first 2/3s of the fight. Just incase anyone is wondering, my Enfeebles stuck without problem and they are very worthwhile and both Omega and Ultima are Aspirable, so take advantage of this. I Aspired for about 60-70 on average. Anyway, Omega's real danger is his AoEs. Guided Missle is the nastiest trick he has, so if you see this and you're at low HP, be very afraid. If you see Ion Efflux, be very happy. Just have your Mages Paralyna it and you're good to go. But yeah. Guided Missle is the worst thing he has, at this point. Just whittle it down. We used a CCB Pump at 75%, 50%, and 25% life. We got it down to about 20% life, then it started going wild. I noticed that things were going poorly, so I tacked on some DoT, then nuked it since I figured we were going down anyway. Well, we wiped shortly later at 15% life. Remember to wipe near the door. And do not RR until either Omega or Ultima goes back to it's pop location. Even if you didn't to anything to get hate from it, it'll attack you if you are alive. So stay dead, or you'll be doomed to become dead once again. Once Weakness wore off, our plan was to go all-out and kill that last 15% fast. Gairaiden and Teviont Meditated to 100 TP, then waited for Meditates' recast timer. Quietwolverine Provoked, FLashed, Seninaled, Defendered, the works, to make sure he had hate and could live long enough. Janeth spammed Head Butt as much as possible, and throwing in Death Scissors. Minimax, needless to say, kept Quietwolverine alive. Gairaiden and Teviont both WSed >> Meditate >> 2nd WS for a total of 4 WSs. I cast Burst, and Omega was meleed to death shortly after Burst went off. Bam. Omega dead, 2 Pumps remaining, and still had all 2hrs.

We started the Ultima fight with about 20 minutes remaining, so we knew we had this one in the bag, even if we did wipe once. We used roughly the same strategy as we did for Omega. We used a CCB at 60% and 30% life. Now surprisingly, Ultima's TP abilities were pretty wimpy. Only a few were AoE. Most of them were elemental damage with an added effect, which could easily be Erased or remedied with a -na spell. At about 35%, it was time to go all-out. I left behind back-up healing and went trigger happy nuking it with several Aero IIIs and a Burst. Around this point, Teviont and Gairaiden died, but Teviont was able to RR and Meikyo Suishi it. When it had about 7% left, I Manafonted and Flared it. For some reason, I got aggro for a moment, but Teviont (Who was still Weakened.) still managed to Provoke it back to himself, AND live long enough to Meikyo Suishi it and for Flare to go off...

"Garth defeats Ultima."

WOOHOO! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! and various other cheers were sounded at this time, rightfully so.

Anyway, here's the gist of it.

-BLMs, just back up heal until whatever your target is (Mammet, Omega, or Ultima.) is at or around 40%. Then you can nuke.
-My Enfeebles stuck on all enemies without problem. They're very helpful.
-You can Aspir BLM Mammets, Omega, and Ultima. Take advantage of this.
-You don't need a NIN tank. With proper gear/food/meds and a good WHM, a PLD tank works just fine. Our PLD didn't even use the Bat Earring + Blind Potion combo.
-Omega's AoEs are it's most dangerous abilities, the worst being Guided Missle. Pile Pitch (Hate reset + reduced to 10% HP. Only used at low life.) is pretty nasty too, but that's a different kind of "danger."
-Ultima is a piece of cake if you have a back-up healer so one person can heal while the other remedies status effects. Ultima only used Antimatter and Equalizer once each on us and they hurt, but didn't devestate us.
-BLUs rock! Head Butt for Stun once every 10 seconds works wonders!

Thank you everyone for reading this. I hope it helps! Good luck!

Had a few attempts with the players that I shouted in town, unfortunately all wiped ; ; Finally LS members offer me a help on this fight ^^

Our setup:
NIN/WAR (with full merit)
WAR/NIN (with full merit)
RNG/NIN (no idea with the merit point)
BRD/WHM
RDM/WHM (me)
WHM/BLM

As the rest of the team had their PM done, they know what they supposed to do.

On Mamamet fight:
NIN did a good job of kiting, use full evasion gear and wind staff plus 2 Blind earrings (that gives you 15 evasion up each when you take the blind potion). Aggro all mamamets without generating hate and WHM support

WAR and RNG grab mamamet 1 by 1, BRD and RDM support on them, easy kill. Few yellow potions r used.

On Omega fight:
NIN WAR RNG stand on the left hand side of the BC entrance and mages on the right. It's very important that NIN should use AF head (gives u 5 more nin magic skill) to cast enfeebling ninja magic on Omega. RNG is helping mages in-directly as RNG stands far away from the AoE range (that mean mages can cure 1 member less). RNG used quite a few Stun bullet to help in tanking. And WAR just keep doing dmg. WHM take care of the -na spell, RDM focus on Dispel, enfeebling and sub-healing. We pwned it without using any CCB and zero death.

On Ultima fight:
Same standing strategy as Omega, NIN cast enfeebling on Ultima, just this time WHM has to give extra care of tank and RDM need to Dispel ASAP.

Used 1 CCB at 40% and 1 at 20%.

WAR used SP and Berserk, Rampage dealed 800+ dmg on Ultima and die right after 5 seconds.

We completed the whole fight in 23 mins, but the record was 18 mins (WTF!?)

Tank never use hi-potion, no TP-wing is used, mages used few MP drink and Hi-ether.

I have no idea about which tank is better on this fight as all attempt were using NIN.

Not that hard

Did this last night and went 1/2 (including a dry run) Set up was:

NIN/WAR
RNG/NIN
MNK/NIN (me)
WHM/BLM
RDM/WHM
BLM/WHM

Mammets are fairly simple, we did the super tank method and let NIN aggro all mammets *WITHOUT engaging/attacking/provoking* this allows WHM to cure bomb him without taking hate. Meanwhile the other members pulled a mammet off NIN one by one. Remember to watch out for transmogrify, if you attack when it is in this phase the mammet will regain health. You may also want to set quartermaster to someone so they can use the yellow liquids that drop. We finished this battle with ~36 minutes left.

Omega, I personally felt he was easier than ultima. Make sure you fight by where Omega spawned, so if you wipe you can RR while he sits by the airship door. He also spawns AoE which is why all melee really must be /NIN, unless they are chugging hi-potions. Nothing much else to say besides widdle down his HP slowly and try to keep hate stabilized. At 50% is when things get rough. Here we used a CCB polymer pump, and then another at 20-25%. At this point BLM started to ES + AM which brought him down. Finished this battle with ~30 mins left.

Ultima, for us, was a bit tougher. At the beginning we problems with hate control and he was running all over the place spamming AoE and other TP moves. We got it under control and he wasn't too bad. Once again we took him down slowly to 50% and used a CCB pump and then again at 25%. At this point RNG 2 hr'ed + barrage + WS and died >.< I then popped hundred fists and BLM manafonted. Brought it down to a sliver of life and everyone began dying. BLM raised up and popped a final Busrt to win it.

Battle Clear time: 25min 30 sec

Items brought (melee):
Hi-potions (~10)
Icarus wing (not necessary)
au'laits
ATK/ACC food
RR Items

Mages:
Yag drinks
Hi-ethers (at least 10)
MP food
RR Items

*4 CCB Polymer Pumps (not necessary but they sure help a lot)

Tried doing this for a while, but kept getting owned.

1st setup:
rng/nin
nin/war
whm/blm
drg/nin
blm/whm
mnk/nin

Items:
A crapload of hi pots(hi pot tanks are pimp)
5 CCB Polymers
A good bit of hi ether pots
RR items
yellow liquid (optional since u get 1 or 2 from killing the mammets)

The stupid mammets kept wanting to -ga our ninja. Then omega just beat the hell outta us. It took a wipe and some, but we got omega down. Went to fight Ultima with six mins left. Got booted with Ultima at 50%.

After seeing what happend, we changed up a few things:

Set up:
Rdm/blm (Countalucard)
Nin/war (Dyrk)
Whm/blm (Gaido)
Drg/nin (Obiron)
blm/whm (Nitta)
mnk/nin (Jayeon)

Items:
Same as above

The time limit for this battle takes 45mins...

Cleared the battle in 22mins, 39 secs (Hades server). There were no deaths or wipes.

What we did:

The mammets were by far, the hardest thing in this fight. Luck was never by our side. When one put physical wall, the rest seem to just want to -ga us to death. What we did to prevent this was time our yellow liquids and have everyone pass on the ones we got. Supertank and had the drg pull them to us. Kept mages outta range so no random stun would happen.

Omega was next. Most of the time it will normally do one move over and over again. This is where my rdm shined. All enfeebles stuck and I was able to dispel any and all buffs omega put on. Around 50% popped a polymer, and monk 2hred. gave omega two more polymers. (one at 25% and one at 10% just to make sure, but really didn't need it)

*Note* Monks 2hr own for omega.

After that was down, and i realized how much time we had left...I told everyone we would take our time on ultima. at that time I didn't think we were going to beat the record.

Ultima was the last to fall. Again, rdm shined due to dispel. I was able to dispel all defense boost moves and land all enfeebles without any problems. at 50%, drg 2hrd and blm joined him. I used a polymer on it (we had one more, but fight didn't last long enough to use it.) around 25% I used my 2hr, all thunder II spells went unresisted.

You have no idea how it feels to see your name has defeated Ultima :D

After we killed Ultima I told the rest of the party we still had more than 20mins left, we all went nuts. Got to sea that day too.
Tough Fight

There is no doubt in my mind that this is the hardest fight in CoP up to this point. It is also a pocket book breaker as far as medicines are concerned. We tried our first 2 non dry runs with the following setup:

PLD, WHM, RDM, SMN(me), RNG, DRK

PLD super kited the mammets while RNG and DRK pulled them off 1 at a time. This part is pretty easy as long as too many mammets dont go BLM and start spamming -agas.

Omega is another story. He has a ton of HP and at times it seems like you are making no progress. We used CCBs at 50% and again once he used pile pitch. However, we just couldnt avoid wiping. So we wiped, rested to full, and easily got the kill.

Ultima isnt too bad till about 50%, than he gets nasty. We used pumps at 50% and 25%. We managed to get him to about 5% before we ran out of time. We just couldnt deal enough damage to kill him before time ran out. Even astral flow didnt seem to make much of a dent in him at 850ish damage.

On our final run I decided to change from SMN to BLM hoping the added damage from spells would get us the win. It really made all the difference in the world. We were able to get through both the mammets and omega much faster with the added damage from BLM. Things got real hairy the last 5% of Ultima and people were dropping left and right. We had him to about 1% when I reraised and hit him with drain for the win.

Overall I would guess our static spent about 2-3mil gil between us all. Not to mention the CCBs that we farmed. Very tough fight but a great feeling once it was done.

Just did this fight earlier today beat it first try for me, but a couple tries for other members.

PT Setup was PLD, MNK (me), MNK, BLU, BRD, WHM, the 3 DD's subbed NIN of course

Fight wasn't too bad, we wiped once on Omega but we regrouped and got him, beat it in 36 minutes, but from this fight BLU is a pretty nice job to have mainly because they can stun quicker than every 45 seconds, it helped out a lot when fighting Omega and Ultima. Overall it wasn't too hard with this setup, but i can definatly see why some groups have trouble with it, especially without meds or pumps. I think personally i used about 14-16 hi-pots, and I wing, Vile Elixer, and of course RR Hairpin. Main thing with this fight in my opinion is to not be cheap about meds, every 100 HP is worth it.

Main thing to do is not take more than 5-7 minutes on the mammets so you have plenty of time for Omega and Ultima, which imo (or maybe a fact, heh) Omega is much more difficult in terms of damage received, but for Ultima a dispeller is almost a must for Melee, otherwise he'll have defense boost the whole time.
Advice for NIN tanks

I just merc'ed this as NIN NIN WHM RDM BLM BLM, and cleared it with one death at Mammets (one BLM died), and two death at end of Ultima (RDM bit it after chainspell, the other NIN decided to Mijin to finish Ultima off). Even though we made a few mistakes here and there and everyone except myself were tarus, it was otherwise a flawless run. I let the other NIN be main tank, I was superkite/dd/sub tank. Just listing a few things I noted/forgot for future reference.

1. Have the superkiter buy yellow liquids, and set QM to him. -ga's ate shadows faster than 4 Mammets wailing with +40 eva (Emp. Pin, SH+1, AF legs, Merits). You can use liquids to lock their jobs without having them aggro the mages.
2. Use defender while kiting. If you superkite properly, mages can cure without gaining hate, but it always helps to cure less. Use HP+ items like Multiple Ring or BQR at the beginning for the kited part, but as a Mithra NIN I had over 1k HP.
3. Make sure to set Polymer order. Mine was RDM>Me>Other NIN, but I think we only used two each on both Omega and Ultima. After each fight, have the other mages trade you the liquids if you used it up.
4. Make sure to stand on opposite side so any frontal AoE for Omega/Ultima won't affect both NIN. Tell the WHM if you get pertrified or slow'ed, so they can cure those immediately.
5. Remeber to gear-swap and eat food after superkiting. Totally forgot about gear swap and I didn't use food until Ultima fight. I don't think you really need Sushi for this fight as a NIN DD if you have a Haub+other acc items. Jins were landing in the 400s, so I easily took hate whenever the other NIN got hate. I'd probably use meat next time.
6. Discuss with the other NIN who is responsible for debuffing. My mind was in DD mode so forgot to debuff completely.

The leader was thinking about doing a "dry run" but I was pretty confident we could do without one. We ended up clearing it in 27 minutes and change on the first run.

Omega Ultima fight
# Dec 29 2006 at 11:16 AM Rating: Decent
Just did this fight on caitsith as well. We saw jinzo's record ^^, I think we only beat it by like 30 sec. We took 39 min and 2 sec. Setup was whm, blm, blu, rng, sam, nin (me). I think the blu made the biggest difference. His headbutt owned omega and ultima and allowed me to easily keep shadows up and stopped most of his powerful moves. We ran out of time before with a setup of whm, rdm, blm, rng, war, nin. It is very important to be able to do a lot of damage quickly. Also if anyone dies during the mammet fight, just start over. You need every second in this fight and chances are you will wipe at least once to either omega or ultima. You dont have time to RR everyone twice and still win all 3 BCNM fights. When we won I tanked all 4 mammets while party focused on killing mammets 1 by 1. If u do this try to bring some meds. I spammed shadows and xpots to stay alive. You have to wait for ni because with 3-4 pounding on u it is nearly impossible to get ichi up. Once 2 mammets are dead it is much easier to kite them and as long as the party has enough magic reserve you can finish off the last 2-3 mammets fairly easily. Just try to avoid the BLM form as much as possible and if the mammet does not have a weapon DO NOT attack. When they do not have a weapon they are in WHM form and hitting them with physical attacks gives them back health. Once the mammets are dead rush through the CS and engage omega immediatly, you need to save as much time as possible. We did a great job getting Omega down to 1% before we wiped. We all reraised and while we were resting my buddy deuce (the BLM) put on his best MP gear and managed to get 325 MP while weakened (not bad for an elvann ^^). He did freeze to finish omega while we were still recovering. We did the CS for ultima and rested to full and still had 15 min left for the ultima fight. Ultima went down pretty easy. I managed to stick kurayami and combined with my capped eva merits he had a real hard time hitting me. I managed to keep hate and we still had 3 CCB plolymers left for this fight. We used at 60%, 40% and 20% and everyone still had their 2 hrs so they unleashed them during this fight. 2 ppl died at 25% and things got a little hairy but they RR and I got back hate in time to save the WHM and we were back to full health in no time. By the time he was almost dead, the sam had used his 2hr and I couldnt get hate back. The sam was tanking fine with Ichi and Sigen at the end and we had full health with ultima at 2%. So i used mijin gakure for about 400 damage and the win. Overall it was a fantastic fight. I lost about 600k in gil and about 6k exp but I've never been so happy ^^. Good luck to all of you trying this fight and try to find a blu. Also make sure everyone has a pump, you will need it.
Nice Setup

Won this yesterday on Caitsith Server.
Setup:
Me (nin/war)
Orbitxx (rng/nin)
Chronotrigger (rng/nin)
Divinemage (blm/whm)
Worldslost (whm/smn)
Jinzo (brd/whm)

This setup made evrything pretty darn easy. We did mamets through supertank method where tank runs in and does not hit or debuff or voke any of the mammets so he can be cure bombed by whm. With melody earrings and double mambo (+10 eva skill) they literally had about a 10% hit rate. We did run into trouble though when 4 of the turned into blms and i was getting raped by agas, luckily got them silenced and whm cure bombed me although i did go into red a couple times. Rngs just picked off mamets 1v1 by one and killed them quickly.
We did wipe once to omega because he hit me with a guided missle right to a hit that stunned me for at least 10 seconds while he pounded on me @ about 30% health. Surprisingly when i died the rngs both slug shot> barrage> slug shot and this brought him to about 10% before they died as well. So we rearaise and when rngs have barrage up we 2X barrage + ES flare, that killed him quite quickly, sadly our blm got killed before he died.
So got him up and then went for ultima. For some reason we had no problem whatsoever with this guy. I tanked fairly well only losing hate for 2 secs after some sidewinders. I got hate back through blade-jins and provoke and debuffs. Also had about +10 enmity in gear as well as dorado sushi.Rngs finished it off with 2x barrage > sidewinder > eagle eye shot, as blm was in mid freeze and I had my finger on my 2 hour button. So everything was under control in this fight. I believe the two pumps we used on him did make it very easy. One at 40% then another at about 20% after a nasty equalizer.

Just as a side note i had done this bcnm about 14 times before. And with a paliden as your only tank, this BCNM is probably the toughest in the game. Good luck and have fun throwing away gil at this hell of a bcnm.

Uh, no. 1/1 with a paladin tank. Any set-up can win comfortably if the players are skilled.
SEEMINGLY IMPOSSIBLE...yet
# Dec 21 2006 at 4:06 AM Rating: Decent
Greetings...i have just been thru an ordeal. I have heard much about the 6-4 Airship Fight, and how my job <PLD> is pretty much useless for it...damn.
Our party consisted of...wait for it...

PLD/WAR Arcadius
NIN/WAR Spawny
SMN/WHM Tomorrow
RNG/WAR Balthazaar
RNG/SAM Fobos
WHM/SMN Orphios

This was seemingly impossible with this party...but we pulled it off in 40min

First, mammets, wasn't bad, I went and drew hate w/o engaging and the crew pulled 1 at a time and killed them systematically.

Omega was tricky, Spawny main tanked, while I back up cured and flashed when his shadows were down, Tomo was hooking Spawny up with Stoneskin, but the issue here was Hate control, and DAMN Fobos for being a Hate Wh0re too. We got Omega to 28%, used a CCB Polymer to stop him from using the Hate Reset Ability, I 2hr'd w/ Invincible, and the RNGs busted out x2 Barrage, x2 Side Winder and Baltazaar EES...it was massive and very well planned.

We got to Ultima with 25 min on the clock, and we jumped right in. We got him down to about 35% and wiped, RR and got back in the fight w/ 12min on the clock. Spawny and I held hate as best we could whilst Tomo, and Fobos 2hr'd. It was rough, and it was close, ppl were dying and RRing and we barely pulled it off.

It was fantastic, and i was amazed that Tomorrow and I, a SMN and PLD basically leeched this fight, it was an impossible setup, but PLAYER SKILL is what won the fights. Great job guys, and an extra thanks to Fobos, Balthazaar, and Spawny for taking an UNGODLY amount of thier time and losing so much exp for us to perfect our fight...oh ya...sry Augustine><

Did this Saturday , on Kujata server and after numerous failures from before we won this time, set up was:
1) Ranger/Nin (me)
2) Ranger/Nin (Bebi)
3) Nin/War ( Quebe)
4) Whm/Blm ( Chewybunny)
5) Rdm/Smn ( Jube)
6) Sam/War (Sarati)
The tank was awesome , he runs in Supertanks all Mammets, i peel off one by one and we all pound on it, cleared in 3 minutes
Moved on to Omega, again Tank pulled it to the right side of the ship, we spammed sidewinders, i just spammed stun bullets, that helped the tank.Whe used 2 CCB's for this fight.Note when either the melles got hate we turned around to wait for ninja to get hate back.
Finally on Ultima same scenarion , i spammed stun bullets and the others spammed sidewinders.Used 3 CCB's and went gung ho with 2 HR on last 10%.
Cleared with a record of 26 minutes, and that is the standing record now from previous 28 minutes.

After failing twice, we adjusted our strategy and won a couple of days ago. We cleared in 26 minutes with no death on Shiva server. Many thanx to Scape for letting me borrow his Akinji Peti, and Sirocco's friends for helping.

Party set up: NIN(Sirocco), NIN(Goodknight), RDM(Coeurl), WHM, BLM, SAM/RNG (me)

Make sure you have good ranged accuracy + and ranged attack + gear. For me I had full Jaridah set, Bullseye cape, beater's earring, etc. Food was squid sushi + 1, and ammo was demon arrow.

For mammet part, one NIN runs in and aggro all mammets and kite them around the airship, the other NIN voke and pull one at a time and kill it with the other players. Use yellow liquid when necessary, and BLM should try to stun mammets when they start casting. This part is fairly easy.

For Omega, enough has been said, the trick is SAM/RNG can stay outside the AOE attack range and still have good accuracy and make good damage. WHM only has to focus on taking care of the NINs most of the time. When sidewinder pulls hate off Ninja, I just kite Omega around the airship and wait for NIN to voke him back. Seigan helped a lot. Another trick to keep in mind is (probably many SAM/RNG already know) when TP is ready and meditate is up, do Sharp Short + Barrage + Meditate + Hasso, then do a Sidewinder followed by a Barrage Ranged Attack. If sidewinder and all four arrows land, you should have 95 TP, plus the first 20/40 TP from meditate, you should be able to fire another sidewinder. Do a couple more ranged attacks, along with the rest of the meditate, you should be able to do a third sidewinder.

Ultima is basically the same, stay out of the range and shoot arrows / do sidewinder.

I brought about 7 Hi-po+3 but I ended up only using 3. Didn't even use my 2hr. Hope this helps those of you out there who can't beat the airship battle.

Just completed this mission after 11(22) tries. Set up was SMN(me), NIN, WAR/NIN, WAR/NIN, WHM, RDM. Had 4 pumps and worked out an order. Went in and did the mammets, did the normal "supertank" method and took em down. Got to Omega with 33? 34? min left and went in. Everyone fought as they were supposed too. and used Pumps at the right time. Having WHM helped specially near the end of battle. Killed 2 people just before he died, other then that melee controlled hate very well, Kudos to them. Arrived at Ultima with 26 min, 20 actually is when we started as we waited for 2 to unweaken.

Get to Ultima, and basically own him really, every did what they were supposed too and used pumps at 60% and 20%. I was able to get 3 Judgment Bolts fired off. Melee once again held hate perfectly, ultima never came after mages. Everyone fought well and had only one death right at the end. My 3rd JB killed him. We finished in 31 min.

The secret if you will to this battle is Omega without question. The fight with him will decide wether you win or lose the rest, that is to say ultima is def easier then Omega. As has been said before: USE PUMPS, specially when omega is near death. We used 4 total.

Big thanks too

Ok lesson 1: CCBs are gods.
lesson 2: If you lack CCBs sub Nin <.<

Did 2 dry runs both wiped on Omega at 55%. Switched setup to Nin Nin Brd Whm Drg/War War/Nin. Around 75% Omega uses Guided Missiles and nails the Drg for a nice 981 Damage. Brd uses CCB. Everyone has a CCB in their bazaar for 1gil so the Brd can use them since you get stunned for 8sec if you use one. Some people who have not done this fight may think CCBs may not be that helpful. The weapons pretty much spam WSs from what I'm guessing is a very nice TP regen. CCBs STOP ALL WEAPON SKILL USED BY ULTIMA AND OMEGA. It is very important to note that. No Deaths. Beat in 22min42sec which beat the previous record since the last update by 14min lol.

A big thanks to Nopax, Iakkin, Anaki, and Zafire for helping me and Sylphia out.

Did this a couple of hour ago with my static.

Setup was PLD, BLM, BLM, WHM, RDM, DRK

We won on the second try.

On the first run, we took the mammets extremly easily : PLD agroed all of them, without engaging, and the rest of the party took them one by one. Too weak.

then, we went to Omega. All was going fine, until the hate became unstable... PLD and DRK used CCP Polymer, but we wiped @ 10%. Some of us could Reraise, they took him down to 1% until we wipe again ; ;

On the second run, mammets were as weak as before, but we wiped at Omega at 4%. All of us could reraise this time though, and DRK took him down with Guillotine lol

Ultima was pretty easy until it gets to 35%~ : we started using CCB polymer but even with that the boss was keeping hitting each of us like mad. Fortunately, PLD used Invincible, BLMs used Manafont and nuked him until death :)

1/2, a fairly good rate 8)

ok, thing about this if you want to supertank all mammets:
(my setup was NIN/NIN/MNK/BRD/RDM/SMN, all melees /war, all mages /whm)

-yellow liquids will make all the mammets aggro
-release makes them all aggro

so if you supertank, the tank does absolutely nothing aside from getting aggro, and no one at all uses release or a liquid. we spent some 5 runs trying to figure that crap out.

omega wasnt too hard, but homing missile will make or break your group, so fight near where you start (melees on that side, mages on the other). he regens very slowly. he went up about 1% over the course of 7-9 minutes. at 40%, we had our smn astral flow followed up by a polymer. he went down like cake soon after that polymer.

ultima is easy if you have 2 polymers. i strongly suggest you get 2. one to use at 50%, and the other to use at 25%. once it hit 50, i soul voiced double minuet and the mnk hundred fisted. the nins mijined towards the end for lulz. ultima was the only portion of the fight we finished in one try. the other sections took a couple runs to work out the kinks. if you wipe on mammets, just restart the damn thing. chances are you made a silly mistake. figure out what that mistake was, and dont make it again. i told you our mistakes, so if you read this dont make the same ones we did =P
Just finished 6-4

Our setup :

PLD/WAR
MNK/NIN
BST/NIN
RDM/WHM
WHM/BLM
BLM/WHM

We had 2 dry runs to get our bearings. The tactics for the mammets is this:

PLD tank 2 with WHM support
Pet tanks one
MNK + RDM tanks one
BST + BLM tanks one.

A pet can solo a Mammet depending on whether it use phyiscal shield with one Zeta biscuit. We tried to have RDM solo one mammet in a dry run, but he died when it cast Thunderga II >_<, so 2 on 1 is better. I find the best way to tank is to use yellow liquid when it's in the BLM mode, and silence it. It'll hit you for 20 per strike ^^.

Omega is nasty. It has low evasion so you can eat meat and 'go to town' on him with some +acc gear. It also has unlimited TP. It has an AoE move that strips shadow, and may follow it with Cruise missile which will wipe your party. I died twiced on Omega when it did it in that seuqnece. We wiped at 40%, reraised, start off with a CCB, and it was a lot smoother. At 30% we used another CCB and have the mnk 2 hr. It died before we need to use another CCB.

Make sure your WHM and support paralyna the tank. It's almost as bad as Hakutaku >_<

Ultima by comparison is a lot easier. It can buff itself though, so make sure your dispeller is spamming dispel. It also has a move that slows you. While it hits harder, the moves are no where near as nasty as Omega. Our PLD started losing hate at around 50% and used 2 hr along with the CCB. We used all 4 CCB on Ultima - hate flew everywhere toward the end, and the MNK and BLM died. However, the BLM reraised and kill it in the end. We finished it with 8 minutes to spare.

Some notes - fight at one corner of the ship that is near where you enter - this way, even if you wipe unexpectedly you still will be safe from aggro. It is also better to die than to use CCB prematurely - you actually have plenty of time, and can wipe twice.

Our PLD tank used 20+ hi potions, uses 2x bat earring + blind option, and also the shield that gives Phalanx. Omega missed a lot, and hits for 120-ish. It is very important for all melee to be self sufficient, but the mages need to help out with cure. Haste at the beginning is a must, but after a while the mages will forget to cast it on you (it gets very busy).

I was using the Funguar pet - it hits hard, and the DoT really adds up.

The loses were due to very VERY poor players. 3 of the lost rounds we lost to the mammets and the one time we pasted the mammets omega kicked our asses.

Winning setup:
WHM/BLM (me)
RDM/BLM
NIN/WAR
BLM/WHM
MNK/NIN
THF/NIN

I sugest if your doing close combat that you sub NIN cause a lot of AoE can be absorbed by it or youll take nasty damage.

Also have a good rdm cause that was the reason why we lost usually. When we won we had a very good rdm.

For mammets we had the NIN aggro and had the DDs and RDM take on them one by one. I cured the tank. Important for the tank not to touch any of them. Even yellow liquids will cause engagement and open up for hate. WHM should stay FAR away from the NIN to avoid AoE abilities and spells. Keep haste up at all time.

Omega went well. Be ready to counter his paralyze. We used a CCB at 50% for breathing room. at 20% we used another and when that wore wed used another. We also had the MNK 2hr. We didnt even use a second CCB at 20%

We got to Ultima with 27 minutes left. Some members died at the end of Omega so we started with about 24 minutes on the clock. Mages and tank passed off their polymers during the resting time. Turned out the THF didnt use his polymer so we had 4. Odds were very good.

For Ultima be ready to counter paralyze and petrify. Start using polymers at 50% on cause he gets nasty. We edventually wiped. WE got back up and in a desprate attept to kill him had the BLM cast Flare. It killed him!

In that same night i went on to kill Tenzen so i have sea!

FAirly straight forward fight the the first weapon is nasty, our set up was

PLD/WAR
BST/WHM
SMN/WHM
RDM/WHM
BLM/SMN
SAM/RNG

Everyone soloed a mamet with the BLM teaming with the SAM for the fastest kill. Then just moved on one by one till at last reaching the tanks mob.

PLD went with an evasion set up and porved to be very effective on the weapons, the hit rate was reduced massively from our dry run. One wipe at about 30% on first weapon then saw it homke quickly.

Worth noting what you lose from WHM in SMN is made up for by Astral Flow which reduced the second weaon to dead in minutes.

Position is the key in this fight. You want to keep maximum distance between your melee/tank and mages inside this tight space. Best way is to position the mages on the side near the door and the tank/melee pull the boss to the diagonal corner. If the melee is in trouble at any time, you will want to die by the door so that you don't aggro the boss after reraise.

Bring a brd for this fight
For the mammets, let the tank run in to aggro them all and mages stay back to cure bomb the tank (don't nuke, just cure). As long as the tank can keep hate, the group of mammets will focus on the tank only. Other melee ONLY /assist the tank so you don't get pwn by the other mammets.

For the bosses, if you have a nin tank, ninjitsu debuffs with songs will calm both bosses down to a very reasonable level. If you don't have a nin tank, your mages will have to try their best to debuff the bosses. Keep blind, slow, bio, and paralyze with carnage elegy on the bosses at all time will make your life a lot easier. The brd will be very busy in this fight: carnage elegy on the boss, double mambos on tank and melees, ballads on mages. Melees with eva gear + melody earrings + double mambos will evade a very high percentage of the hits and special attacks. Just make sure your mages and nukers don't pull hate from the tank.

If I remember right, Omega has very high resistance to magic damage near end of its life; and Ultima has very high resistance to physical damage near the end. So plan your 2hr accordingly. As for magic damage, lightning based magic works best with machine type mobs just like the old final fantasy games.

Our CoP static party CaptainsLog defeated this battle last night... on our dry run. [Airship] [Battle] 1/1.

Party Setup:

NIN/WAR (Lorin-Tarutaru)
SAM/RNG (Kataki- Elvaan)
MNK/NIN (Seraphim-Hume)
RDM/BRD (Damienvryce-Hume)
BLM/WHM (Lunais-Tarutaru)
WHM/SMN (Thoris-Mithra)

The night before we did a 5/6 dry run because our monk went to bed. We were able to get Omega down to 33% without using any meds at all. The reason we lost is that I [whm] ran out of mp because the sam/rng was getting hit by the aoes (he was close meleeing) and the rear attack. This needlessly drained a lot of my mp. It was clear to us that sam/rng needed to ranged attack only, and our monk would have to go /nin.

We didn't intend to go all the way on our dry run the following evening. We were taking our monk through it so he'd know what to expect. When we got Omega down to 30%, we were doing so well (I was sitting on full mp still...) that Lorin told us he was using his CCB Polymer (we each had one). At that point, we knew we were going for the win!

There's a great guide for this battle, which we followed, so I won't go into detail.

Airship Battle Guide

We read it, read it again, and prepared for a gruelling, messy battle. I had 2 pro-ethers, a vile elixir, and 5 hi-ethers for the Ultima fight and I didn't even touch them. (O.o)

A few things that may be of value I'll share, though. Our ninja, Lorin, went in with 58 evasion +17 Evasion skill (so about +70) and had Mambo (a la Rdm/brd). It was hilarious seeing the log fill up with "The Mammet misses Lorin".... over and over and over. The tricky part is when multiple mammets would turn into blms and -ga. Fortunately if no claim moves are used by the ninja, the white mage is free to drop CureIVs and CureIIIs with reckless abandon (I'm exaggerating a bit) without worry of pulling hate. Since your mp is healed to full after each battle, the mages don't have to worry about using up all their mp to finish off the Mammet fight.

Once Omega hit somewhere around 5-10% (I'm the whm, so I don't remember exactly) he was attacking so fast (we had used 2 Polymer pumps and were saving 4 for Ultima) that I couldn't keep Lorin alive. Then the melee missed the AM magic burst, which we planned to use to finish it off. So once Lorin went down we all immediately ran to where we spawned. Once the tank dies in this battle, you can pretty much expect to wipe. But, Omega being at 5%, our rdm and blm nuked hard, and sam managed to get off Sidewinder before he died. We wiped with Omega at 1%. Once we got up, Lunais (blm) finished him off with a -gaII.

We went into Ultima battle with about 17 minutes (that's after resting off weakness, etc). I guess I don't have much to say about Ultima, though. If anyone from our static wants to say anything about the battle that might be helpful, they should. :) I watched the log for Chemical bomb and the other status effect abilities. I only remember Chemical bomb going off once (and it hit Kataki (sam) only lol!). It did Guided Missle alot, but shadows absorbed it so it wasn't a big problem. At about 60% we started using our Polymers, and Kataki timed it so after each minute was up the next person would use theirs.

The one thing that I think helped us the most with this is Teamspeak. I highly recommend that if you have the capability to do so, USE IT! The advantage you gain by communicating audibly rather than typing is exponential, especially when timing is important.

Well, this post turned out longer than I intended (as always) but I hope that you are able to find some information that will help you when it comes time for you to tackle this mission.

Good Luck! (*^_^)b
