Summary

Pyopyoroon of Nashmau has advised you to head west to a place with many "stooones" to find a special "ghooost." Perhaps it will lead you the ghost ship...

Walkthrough

Receiving the Vial of Spectral Scent activates this mission.

This mission involves a fight with a notorious monster. Head into Caedarva Mire from Nashmau and go to the headstone at E-10. There are several undead mobs in this area at night, so you're best off doing this mission during the day.

Clicking the headstone will spawn the Corsair Jazaraat, a fomor mob that can be easily taken down with a trio of 75 jobs. Once you defeat the NM, click on the headstone again for a cutscene and to receive an Ephramadian Gold Coin. Do not zone until you've touched the headstone again, or you'll have to repeat the NM fight.

This completes the mission.

Just tried this guy solo Twice as MNK/NIN

First time I fought this guy I got my **** beat. Didn't use counter-stance(not realizing he had a defense down move that would have made CS def down non-important). Really, I didn't know anything, so I only got him down to 75%.

Second time I fought him I went all out, and ended up getting him to 15-20%. Wishing I had bought myself a Vile elixir+1 right about now, i had a regular one, but not a +1. If I had had that, I'd have easilylasted to my next chakra(1 min left on timer at death), and I'm pretty sure I would have killed him shortly after that ><.

Over-all, he's a tough customer, but not unbeatable solo, just requires proper meds and good concentration AND a bit of luck(Getting hit with foxfire while shadows are down is devastating ><). My Solo gear is anything but perfect, so I imagine if a really well-geared MNK/NIN attempted him(Ie: Elusive earrings, +9 Eva cape, Eva Torque) tried him, they'd be able to do it with little troubles.(I also have no eva merits, 8 more eva from them would help a lot I imagine). Better yet, if SE ever lets us summon our NPCs over in ToAU, he'd be a cinch to solo. Cure V + haste, {Yes, Please}

Today, I went in with a safe and economical approach to deal this mission. I casted Carby (Apollo's Staff + Carby Mitts = MP free) and popped Jazzeraat NM. Then I pulled NM using Carby between E-11 (Alzadaal Undersea Ruins zone) and F-11 (Nashmau zone). This is a safe place (no aggro) where you run side to side and cast Carby over and over and over again, no BP, and Carby automatically assaults NM and get hate not me. I could fairly say this battle took me about a half hour. There is no need to use hi-ethers unless you need to kill it quickly. I was no near death. Good luck.
Sleepable?

Nin Solo

Ok, so i just tried soloing this thing as Nin/War as i was bored, though im sure it could be done this would be entirely dependant on luck imo, he is nasty, his accuracy is bad however his TP moves are what get you, 2 moves that remove 2 shadows and the already stated defense down move. plus added bonuses of a 13HP a tick drown move and TP drain. So,,, take a mage with you and do yourself a favour :) Hope this helps someone in some small way. oh and beware of Foxfire, caught me w/o shadows did 465 damage and stuns for quite a while, needless to say death follows shortly after.

I watched a nin/whm walk in and solo this. Bring a few yag drinks and be vigilant about shadows, and those statuses he gives you aren't anything to worry about, neh?

Just finished this battle.
Whm/Smn
Blu/nin
Drg/war
Mnk/Nin <---tank
Drk/thf
Thf/nin

I was the lowest lvl at 69. The rest were in the 73-75 range. The battle was really easy. I can see where he hits hard. But he only hit once. The rest of the time he either whiffed (75%) or got guarded/parried. If you want to solo him thats cool and all but a party of 6 only has to fight him once to get the item. He does in fact use corsair abilites although with us he only used Wild Card (which gave him 300% tp. Poor guy). He also has an AOE called Carnal Nightmare that takes away all tp from everyone in range. Looks cool, but the effects aren't really all that bad compared to other AOEs. In all actually a fun fight and not really all that troublesome.

Just Solo'd this guy as 72 BST/nin.
Was a pretty easy fight. I Headed out to him as soon as the sun came up.
Didn't wanna mess with the undead.
Got CS and popped him.
There are 3 Bird spawns you can use as pets.... just swap them before
they die so the can Regen back and you can repeat using them.
This guy hits hard. So you need to use all 3 to swap.
The Imps don't come near you at all... so there is no agro and the fight went very smoothly. Just Swap.. fight.... swap... fight....
Took about 12 swaps and he crumpled. Hit me once.
Keep those shadows up... and all is good.

since people want to be punks and not post info about him, I will.

He's a fomor elvaan and he attacks fast and hard. He is soloable by most jobs with a nin sub because his acc is not that good but thf or nin is best. But like I said, he does hit fast and hard. and he does a bad def down move if you are caught without shadows, that move will eat right through stoneskin and phalanx. He pwntt my rdm/nin but I owned him with nin/war. rdm/nin is a ***** because so many damn buffs you have to put up. You have to use phalanx and stoneskin to make up for the eva rdm lacks. I went back and killed him for my friend with my rdm/nin. It was much easier because I knew what I was up against thats why I made this post so some other person doesnt have to lose 2400 @#%^in exp. Anyways enough of my rdm/nin ********* This mobs seems about lv 70-72 but has very high attack, high attack speed and a def down move you have to watch out for. No bad Aoes or spells.

I'm curious about this NM fight. "He is quite difficult and a party of at least players whom are over 70 is recommended." Does anyone have any more info than that? Any insights would be appreciated, thx.

If you fail the fight, in order to spawn Jazaraat again, you must go back to Nashmau and talk to Pyopyoroon (or whoever gave the you he Spectral Scent, and he says something that doesn't make much sense. Then you can spawn him again.

I just soloed this as a 75 SMN. It was pretty easy. I popped it with fenrir out and ran back toward the zone. I kited him for about 5 mins, useing 9 hi ethers and my 2hr. At about 25% I switched to carby and let carby kill him off. I will say this though..That sucker had a buttload of HP. It took 8 Fenrir BP to get it too 25%. Should be an easy fight with tank, refresher, and whm.
