Mission Orders

The Imperial alchemists have developed various tissues to graft onto and strengthen the bodies of the Immortals, but they need test subjects for clinical experiments. Go lend your assistance.

In this mission, you will be grafted with different tissues which will cause random stat changes. Once grafted, you must then venture in and "test" yourself in combat. Despite its creepiness, if you have a guide to help poor victims...erm...players pass this trial, submit it! exodus@allakhazam.com pikko@allakhazam.com

I've done this assault about 30 times so far.

First thing that is confirmed (not by me personally) is that the Divisor Ring drops from this Assault. Or at least is supposed to. (like I said, I've done this about 30 times so far).

General strategy is this:

We usually go in with RDM/WHM, THF/NIN, BLU/NIN. Yes, 3 jobs. That's it.
RDM buffs everyone, then we talk to the NPC to get the first set of buffs/debuffs. There are 4 different sets of buffs/debuffs and they don't stack (once you get a new buff/debuff the old one wears.) These buffs are as follows:

Attack +, Slow +
Accuracy +, Attack -
Movement Speed +, HP -
Healing MP +, MP -

There may be a 5th buff/debuff combo, but those are the ones I remember offhand.

Anyway, back to the strategy. Once you have a buff/debuff applied (by talking to the NPC), one of four sets of lamia will spawn. These are in set spawn points, and they are as follows:

1) Down a passage to the northeast, off a ledge (pull them back up)
2) Down a passage/staircase to the south
3) Around an ice floe to the west through a tunnel
4) South of the ice floe to the west through the same tunnel as #3.

So once you have the buff applied, find which lamia group spawned and start fighting. They link by sight so you want to pull artfully. Thief's "Hide" ability works too so if you get a link, hide and pull one out of the pack.

There will always be a BLM in each group of lamia, whose spells are interrupted quite easily by BLU's "headbutt" spell. There can also be a RNG or COR (won't roll dice) as well. Maximum lamia in a group is 3.

Once a group is defeated, talk to the NPC to spawn a new set of lamia and apply a new buff/debuff group. Once you do this four times the crate will appear and the assault is won.

Possible "good" drops are ??? footwear -> Ataractic Solea and ??? ring -> Divisor Ring.

With my 5 person static (THF, SAM, MNK, RDM, BLU), this is no push over.

You are branded with random tissue, which is issued to your party at the same time. Meaning you all get the same tissue for everyone.

You start with a NPC near you, talking to her applys the tissue and pops the mobs somewhere. It is advised you bring a RNG or /RNG to locate the mobs easily. The first tissue we had gave us Flee Speed movement but our HP cut to 50%. When you locate the mobs, there will be 2-3 together. Its possible to pull them one at a time, and we did not have a problem doing so.

We encountered a BLM and a WAR or THF the first one. They hit pretty hard (around 100-200 to our BLU), but have a decent evasion. Being all 75 (except the THF @73), we did not have much of a problem hitting anything. After the 2 or 3 mobs are down, talk to the NPC again for another tissue.

Note here, if you talk to the NPC and get your tissue, any further conversation with the NPC will result in "Must find mobs to kill" or something like that. Only after you wipe 1 set of lamias will be NPC give you a new tissue and pop new mobs. Also, anyone can talk to the NPC to start it.

2nd tissue we got the same buffs. Myself (SAM) and the MNK died on the 2 pop. The BLM cannot be silenced and only rarely do the spells get interrupted. It casted Tier 4 magic, which with 1/2 HP killed both me and the MNK in 1 shot. We also encountered a RNG this time... BLM and RNG. RNG was pretty easy.

3rd Tissue we got ACC+ but Attack down. the Attack down is pretty severe. My Ranged Attacks as SAM w/ a Shigeto did 0-2 damage. I believe Attack is dipped 50%, while ACC is boosted 50%. We encountered a BLM, WAR or THF, and RNG.

4th and last Tissue we received Attack+ and Accuracy down I believe. With berserk my Attack got to around 856. We finished the mission with about 2 minutes left.

It seems all the sets of Lamias have a BLM in it, but it will randomly have a RNG, WAR or THF, or both as a 2nd and/or 3rd member.
