Bahamut returned to the heavens following the defeat of the Keeper of the Apocalypse, but recently he was witnessed descending upon Cape Riverne with an army of wyrms. Go to Bahamut and find out his intentions.

After completing all CoP missions go to the palace in Ru'Lude Gardens for a cut scene with Esha'ntarl...

She'll tell you to head to Riverne - Site #B01.

Once in, you'll get a cut scene. Head towards (E-7) which is past an Unstable Displacement which you'll need a Giant Scale to pass through. Once there you'll see another Unstable Displacement which is the entrance to the battlefield.

Check it once for a cut scene. Check it again to fight the Wyrmking, Bahamut.

A maximum of 18 people are allowed to enter.

After defeating him you'll get a key item used to enter the second battle with Bahamut, The Wyrmking Descends.

It's not hard, but it's sure as hel1 not a joke. If people are underprepared or don't have enough tanks and positioning is bad, you're looking at a wipe from all the aoe on melee, then he moves to pick off the mages. Go with as close to 18 as possible, mages do good damage and for the most part stay out of range of his attacks.

ok, I did this quest, and I think that I should post my experience.

The fight is against Bahamut. Bahamut has about 26000 HP. He casts the following spells: Defensive: Protect V, Shell V, Stoneskin, Phalanx, Cure V Offensive: Fire V, Flare II, Firaga IV, Silencega, Dispelga, Graviga

My party set up was:

Party1: PLD, PLD, BRD, WHM, SMN, RDM/drk

Party3: SAM, SAM, BLU, DRK, WHM (only 5, smn dc)

PLD needs to be the main tank, and PLD needs to have a good armor Fire resistance.

Barfira + Fire Carol on the main tank party needs to be up ALL the time.

Bahamut uses the following special attacks:

- Trample: AoE damage (~200-500), Knockback and Bind, absorbed by Utsusemi

- Absolute Terror: AoE Terror, absorbed by Utsusemi
- Sweeping Flail: Large AoE (range 20) damage (~100-300) and Knockback, absorbed by Utsusemi (Used when someone behind him gets hate )
- Touchdown: AoE wind damage (~300) and Knockback
- Tempest Wing: Cone Attack wind(?) damage (~400)
- Megaflare: Wide Cone Attack fire damage (~800).
He uses this every 10% HP he loses.
He insults the players before he uses it: "Children of Vana'diel, what do you think to accomplish by fighting for your lives?"
**** Some ppl says that if you try to stun it, Bahamut will recast it after Stun wears off. On my run, I stunned his Megaflare and he didn't recast it. Maybe I was luck!
- Gigaflare: Wide Cone Attack fire damage (~1200) it burnnnnssssss :(
Used instead of Megaflare at 10% HP.
Before this he says "Contemplate on the good your death will bring as your mortal form is consumed by my brilliance!"
**** We had a great RDM/drk that around 15% of Bahamut HP, chainspell + Stun it (that save us from death).

At about 3% of Bahamut HP. We got hit by a Megaflare, a lot people was dead, but luckily other BLM was alive and cast the last Flood II.

We got the new record time on Shiva 09/29/07.

This key item interests me, what is it used for?
I know people have said it before, but all the other "Whispers" obtainable in this game allow you to obtain avatars. If there is no current purpose for this key item, maybe SE is planning on adding him as one :X

I dare to dream, but it might be true, if its not oh well^^

It is needed to enter the 2nd Bahamut BC fight. This item has been around for a year, and that is its purpose.
