Brutal/Pole Strap/Askar Korazin/Warrior's Cuisses/Fighter's Calligae/5 DA merits puts warrior @ 28% DA. also eating a shogun riceball w/ Roshi Jinpachi gives another +5 but of course you don't wanna wear af1 feet at 75, probly dont wanna use Askar korazin, would melee in Byakkos, and use Meat anyway. but still fun fact
I know that triple attack gives you double attack as well, but would subbing warrior increase the frequency of double attacking? and does it still give you the chance to have them stack and attack 4 times in a row or did they take that out? I'm aware that subbing ninja is still more productive in exp parties, but i just wanna know these things for when i'm fooling around having fun :x
Right now as a 41 War DW axes gets me from 3-4 hits in at a time. Criticals are fairly common with it too. I seem to do more damage over time this way then with any 2handed weapon putting out 200-400 damage in a few moments time.
not as far as i know..i wudnt think so..bsides..all your tp is used in first WS attack..ther'll b none left for second..this double attack is good an life savin!!
Actually, this isn't false. Although you obviously can't double attack and do two, say, Sturmwinds, anyone with double attack will notice a larger gap between minimum and maximum damage on weapon skills as well as fluctuation in tp returns. Hmmmm. ;)
Warrior AF boots...the last boots you'll EVER need. The 'Increases double attack effect' (forget exact wordings...is worth SO much more than any minor defense increase on your FEET, which is always low anyway.
So, as if double attack weren't good enough? The AF boots make you do it a lot more often. BUT...I've noticed one thing. INT seems to effect it. Yeah...odd to me, too. But with Gigant Axe, -4 INT, I double attack a lot less, even WITH the boots. When I use a scythe, a sword, or any other weapon that has no -INT, I double attack a lot more, often 1 in 4. Sometimes twice in a row. You know that cocky DRK who thinks he's so badass? Can't hold a candle to the damage a War/Mnk would do with counter/double attack, which happens a lot with AF boots and soldier's ring. That's about 300 dmg in 2 seconds without using any TP on an IT++ mob with a great axe. I've done it many times. And oddly enough, counter seems to coincide with double attack a lot for me.
I was rather annoyed that other jobs could gain OUR double attack ability at 50 by subbing War...but then I noticed they dont do it nearly as much, and then I got my AF boots. And now they're in the dust and my DMG output has increased dramatically. When you double attack with a Great axe for 100 dmg per hit or 200 on TW's (for fun:P)...you're GOING to gain the mob's attention from time to time lol
Warrior AF boots increase double attack by 1%. AF boots are the last boots you will need for a while. At 75 there are many options that are much better than AF boots.
You'll need to download Divx to play the video. File size is 13.5 megs. A thf/war with double attack and triple attack. For people who haven't seen double attack in action.
ummm... do double and triple attack stack? if so can you get 2*3=6 hits? this would give you 12 hits if you fought barehanded...
I think it's something like this. Say triple attack activates. For every 3 attacks a chance for double attack is on. This is what I think. So maybe if your luck enough you can pull off a 10 sec hundred fists.
I think this is level based too. I saw a level 70-75redmage/warrior hitting twice (One sword) more than half the time in valkurm dunes. And everything sbout be 50-55 levels lower than that redmage.
double attack happens pretty often, i was very pleased with the rate on this skill, i was worried it might be a nerfed skill like mug on a thf. Seems that war main can make the best usage of this and i think that's only fair, warriors have got to have some advantages of their own to keep them competitive with all the advanced jobs out there.
Yeah, I was thinkin it was based on dex. I'm a war/thf, and my double attack seems to activate much more than other wars (believe me, this is a job/subjob combo that you almost never see for some reason). Also, I seem to get more crits and almost never miss. I was also thinking it might be based on attack, because it seems to activate almost constantly while I have berserk on.
I am a level 24 warrior and i sometimes get in a double attack. Could the level of the ability have been changed? I get about the frequency described before, maybe a couple in a even match/lower, one or so for a tough, and i dont think ive ever gotten a double attack in on a very tough/higher.
if you had monk subbed, then it would have been a counter attack followed by a normal attack since a job trait at lv 10 for monks is counter attack. I have done this quite a bit myself, and if the text for dmg is displayed at the bottom of the screen, you will see "***'s attack was countered by ****" or something like that.
Im assuming its like the monks counter-attack where it happens every once in a while. Seems like around 1/15 hits average for a counter-attack, might be similar for double attack...
For every hit, there is a chance of a second hit. So for monks and ninjas it would be possible to get 4 hits in a row but this would probably only happen a couple of times for you for as long as you play the game.
i was going war to sub later in the game for double attack and was wondering if it was worth it and how many attacks it really adds? i mean does it swing twice everytime or 1/100? anyone know?
Double atack is affected by what level a monster is. On an even match at level 25 i can hit with double atack atleast 1 or 2 times in a fight. I usually always get 1 double atack off in a fight with toughs. and its kinda rare to get it off on IT's
Double attack doesnt depend on mob level. Ive gotten 3-4 double attacks in a row on IT gobs. The chance is much greater with Main WAR, but hey, if you the skills were the same subbed, there would be no need for a main. I cany wait to get it back on my DRK. just 10 more levels.

If 1% is enough for you to call someone "gimp," perhaps you should consider finding a nearby sharp object and stabbing yourself in the eye with it.
I saw it happen about 1/10 hits. Oh and a normal (damn crazy) combo is WAR/MNK. Counter + Double attack + Great Sword = Absolute GREATNESS. The double attack is the miracle worker of great sword users. It does TONS of damgae. I once did counter then attack then double attack. 3 hits. And both attacks were critical. It did like 200 dmg. :) ^^ I love my sword ^^
