OK, paradon's just got SE help... now they build TP when they shield block. o.O When i counterstance, it drops my def to crap nothing, and i actually hit them mob, but i don't build TP from a counter hit. Wish they would adjust that, cos i go to a high risk using counterstance.
Has anyone figured out if the 'counter +' gears actually adds to the percentage of countering rate, or it's just more damage dealt when countered an attack? I used to have counter + 11 from gears, and i used to use counterstance when i had the hate. Now i have counter + 0, and few nights ago while i was PTing i popped a counterstance, and i couldn't notice a difference except maybe the damage of the countered attack. does anybody have Sphrai yet, and witnessed "enhances counter effect" stat? I think it's the key to the answer to find out which is for countered dmg and which is for countering rate.
I have no real advice to give on what exactly to do to increase the percentage of countering an attack. However, I have noticed that a lot of posts have just been about how often you counter, without anything else. Maybe if you post your stats, including enhancements we could draw some sort of an idea of what you need to do to counter more often. I am in no way putting anyone down for their posts, I am just offering a suggestion because very soon I plan on subbing monk as a class and would also like to know what I need to do to counter more often.
Yes, it does work with a war/monk, but as to how often I'm not sure if it is dependant on any stats or not. I do know that the more often THEY hit the more often I counter.
Little story: So this Japanese Lv72 Monk examines me and says, " You counter much?" I answered, "No". He then tells me "Too much evasion, Monk no need evasion with counter." Me, subbing Theif(which gives an evasion bonus), decided to take the guys word for it and i subbed Warrior and took off every Evasion+ equipment i had and bought new stuff. The next time i partied i instanly saw results. On average, I counter once every 6-10 hits(as a tank), sometimes ive even countered two hits in a row. This now made sense. You have to be considered "HIT" to actually counter an attack. And if you are loaded with evasion then you just don't get hit, thus not being able for a chance to counter. Now at Lv45 you get "Counter Stance" which puts your counter percent to about 30%- 50% which means you will counter every 2 or 3 hits but as a downfall your defence is put way down. So just a little pointer if you are a monk. Try to have absolutly no evasion on you what so ever. Negative evasion items even give better chance to counter.
