had a warning on my firewall that said the Rat Trojan tried to infect my PC. I looked this up and it is spyware or a hacker tool!!
Well then I clicked to trace this hit and low and behold it had Sony Entertainment!! What the hell is this trojan.
Is this normal or one of there server infected???

As I understand it this is your firewall having a panic attack. EQ uses a technique known as "port-flooding" to communicate with the client. This sends data on several ports some of which the Firewall has noted as related to various trojans. My Norton does this every so often.
What it then does is block the offending IP so that I cannot relog to EQ until I have removed the block.
This - I hope - is the explanation, and not that SoE are an infectious disease.

That is correct. The Patch servers have only been infected with a virus 1 time in the entire history of everquest. Your computer is fine.
this happened with me and norton auto-protect too...had to finally disable it. When I tried to log onto NWN it went NUTS. I despise Norton...especially that little pop-up window asking you to register. bought it once, don't want to have to update it every time i blow my nose.
