This is an awesome program. Rate up ^^^ I dl'd it today for my palm, works like a charm.

How about creating something for us crafters that would be able to tell you where something would be sold? For example, something like a saruta orange is ALWAYS sold out on my server when I go check the cooking guild. Maybe a program that would tell you where to buy the item elsewhere?

Thanks again and keep up the good work!

okay, maybe I'm doing something wrong here...

I got it, installed it, and all I can use is the timer portion -
I can't switch between the different modes using anything.

Got OS 4.0 on Palm m505. Timer version 1.0.25

Anyone else having problems?

EDIT: nvm, goofy screen protector was in the way, works great ^^

One thing....I cannot seem to tell the difference between when the selbina-muhura ships are arriving at selbina or arriving at mhura! I click the "Return" button, but the screen looks identical. XD
Thanks for your work. ^^

There are two Selbina-Mhaura ships, one arrives at Selbina, one at Mhaura at exactly the same time. Then they both leave at the same time. This is the only route with more the one ship.

I'm having trouble finding: http://doconnor.reamined.on.ca/ffxi/skill.png that screen on it. I can find that (the skill cap), the time adjustment, or the weaponskill.

...huh? Did I do something wrong?

To view the maps on Palm you need to download the Plucker viewer from www.plkr.org or directly from my site.

Just a reminder that Final Fantasy XI Timer for Palm will never work on a PocketPC, PSP or other non-Palm based handheld computer (unless running some sort of Palm emulator).

There isn't even anything in the source code that will help them write one for another platform because most of the code is Palm spacific except for some of the formulas, which I took from the Javascript timers. The source code is available under the GPL, if you want to look.

Just a quick note, not sure if you're aware of it or not... In the WS and SC views, you have Ground Strike (quested GS WS) listed as Savage Blade. While they're both on the same side of Light, Savage can't close Darkness. Might be confusing to some people.

Otherwise, program is still great!

Hey DoConnor, what a great contribution! This is amazing.

One question, though. Could you port it to PocketPC? I don't know how hard that is to do, but I have a PocketPC, and I'd kill to be able to load your program on it :).

Thanks!

Love this piece of software, finally found a use for my old Palm
that had been gathering dust.

But, I have a question. Not sure if this is the right place
for it, but here goes:

Is there a Palm-friendly version of ffxi.allakhazam.com or
similar? I can connect to the internet with my Palm via
the cradle/serial/usb cable, using Softick PPP conduit.
I'd love to be able to check the info for mobs or items without
logging out of the game.

Edit:
with a bit of searching and re-learning how to view web
pages with Palm, I've come up with this solution:
http://www.skweezer.net/s.aspx/3/ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/search.html

Edit2:
Wasn't satisfied with how skweezer modifies this site, so I made my own script, based on Phonifier's source code.
Made a new thread about it: Palm friendly version of allakhazam item DB.

Hmm.. I am using a Sony Clie with Palm OS 4.1 and after I transfered it to my palm I got a "Fatal Exception" error. Anyone have any idea how to fix this problem? I would really like to use this.

Edit: Nevermind. Apparently trying to transfer it millions of times eventually worked.

this is such a cool app. that I think if you have a palm powered device you should totally take a look at it. The only thing I wish for it, is to be updated now and then. The skillchain chart is off a little and it'd be nice for it to have the BP skillchains. Other than that, get it if you can.

I dont know if any1 has said this yet i scrolled down to the bottom, but y not instead of a palm, y dont we get one that we can have on our PSP if thats even possible. It would prolly look better then the palm anyways. Just a thought.....

what about brenner?

I know they are always at the same time but a calender that includes the time and level cap would rock. Just IMO tho. Great program. Rate ^

I have download your application and love it… well done… it provides great deal of information that can be used in 'real time' when playing the game.

I do have a 'thought' that I wish to share with you for and additional feature, should you feel the idea has merit. I have noted that there are items/equipment which may have additional 'effects' or capabilities which are time related. For example, I have recently managed to gain the Ninja Hakama which is the Ninja AF2 equipment. Besides giving you a defense level of 29 and a boost of HP of 15, it has additional attributes which come into effect during NIGHTTIME. It is my understanding that 'nighttime' is from 1800-0400… It would be a benefit if I could select 'Nighttime notification yes/no' on the timer and when 'nighttime' begins, even if I'm in the middle of battle, I could key off the 'alarm' and do an equipment change to take advantage of the equipments attributes.

What do you think fellow Palm FFXI timer users??... Worth the effort to add??

Is this going to be updated?
I would love to see all the new features of the expansion pack included in this.

I've released a new version of Final Fantasy XI Timer for Palm to support the Treasures of Aht Urhgan. It includes:

  • Ship times for the Mhaura-Al Zahbi and Al Zahbi-Nashmau ship. Thanks to BastokFL for the information, but it was kind of vauge, so let me know if I guessed wrong about something
  • Weapon and other skills for the new jobs. Thanks to FFXIclopedia for being the only source for this information that I could find. I still need more detail on the Skill Ranking for Puppetmaster. I also need to confirm which weapons the SP and EX skills are available for the new jobs.
  • A timer which allows you set an alarm for two times each day so you can switch equipment based day or night. It has been added to the Countdown Timer view.
