or MasterCard ^^

anyway.. I've ever posted something similar to kiyokatsu sometime ago but was nuked to oblivion because chinese gil seller trend was still at an infant stage. also.. I didn't back it up with fraps -_-'.

about numberthree claiming to be from singapore, I seriously doubt it, reasons mentioned by posters above me.

another reason is because I've ever encountered a gil seller (who's obviously chinese) pretended to be a jp but unable to type katakana/hiragana/kanji or even romanized k/h/k. long story short,
1) i opened a conversation typing romanized chinese
2) was replied in english "i'm jp" "no understand english" etc
3) I replied with romanized katakana/hiragana asking where he lives etc. no response.. so i keep buggin him using romanized chinese asking him to admit he's not jp, why not typing kanji characters, im a good man, i wont hurt ya etc
4) HOLLA! he replied back in romanized chinese!

the morale of the story is?

try asking numberthree whats the name of singapore's airport ^^
a singaporean who doesn't know that deserves a shot in the a55

MOre information is always good information. although it is my personal policy never to rate anyone you certainly deserve a rate up for providing this valuable insight. I doubt most of the gil sellers even know it's illegal, it's not like they can read the english player agreement.

This is not low. It's not low to get a confession out of a criminal. No Kikokatsu was not being entirely honest with the gil seller, but that's like giving a drug lord a 2 day noticed before you're going to do a bust.

Many times yes the end justifies the means.

Bravo!

honesty got people nowhere in this life... go and read "Othello" and see what shakespeare has to say on the matter.

well handled , and I hope the Gilseller problem will be cleaned up swiftly.

Too many people on this planet as it is , don't see why we should help ease that problem , as well as the solution being them invading on our game and ruining it.

Go and clean some toilets , you ain't that hard off , look at the people in Ethiopia!
#33REDACTED, Posted: Dec 28 2004 at 3:40 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) YOu're a ****** if you're equivacating this to getting a confession. First off, you don't get a confession from a criminal, you get it from a suspect. This is more like a suspect's lawyer running to the judge and divulging what was told. How can he even pretend to call them his friends? What BS! It really ticks me off how low some people would go over just a game.

Ok since Drug dealers and gangs and murders have families and need their money to come in, it would be a shame to stop drug trafficing and lock them up right? You'd feel sorry for their choices in career right?

Same boat, these ppl chose to do something illegal. Its not just against the TOS its illegal, they are exploiting property of SE.

For those who want a story about somebody on the other side of gil selling... the buyer, check this out http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/forum.html?forum=54&mid=1103060139710949215&num=50 .

And I stand by it 100%

YES i agree with scribe- they picked that lifestyle im not going to feel sorry for them and turn my head while they do illegal things, and as for working 12hrs a day,so what im in the army and regularly do 12-14 hr days not to metion when im in the field not sleeping for days at a time, so in my opinon i dont feel sorry for any of them, find a new job.

#38REDACTED, Posted: Dec 28 2004 at 6:10 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I do not support gil transactions with real money but common that is sick. I'm serious, to hunt this this gil sellers and talking to them and then posting such a long post is just sick man. Let me ask you, are you having fun anymore with the game? or why dedicate so much time to that matter?. SE has its own people working on that, people that get paid to track this illegal activity and then so someting about it. but I'm sure you dont get paid or do you. I'm thinking a simpler way of nailing this people would be ok but so much detail seems obsessive. I'd rather worry about getting my AF or Dynamis instead of tracking game violators that surely will bounce right back into their gil selling with a different name or account if necessary. sorry if some of you dont agree.

i agree with elondil the quick, these people might have jobs they hate to make a living, but i do too damn it. these people r doing something illegal to make money. feeling sorry for them is the same as feeling sorry for a criminal who steals cars, steals ur wallet etc. i don't feel sorry for these people i get pissed. u break the law u deserve to be punished hard for it. thats y the law is in effect.

Dude.. I totally fking agree. You guys are ridiculous. The fact that someone will lose their job and probably starve if they can't find a new one.. doesn't that make you feel guilty? China has a population of over 2 billion. That's 1/3 of the world. Now think how high unemployment must be.

Get your head out your **** and open your eyes. How can you justify making people suffer for your pleasure. No, people like you need to be banned.

I hope your guilt drives you to suicide because that's what you deserve.

I cant believe what i'm reading from the two of you. Being poor does not justify robbery or piracy, and neither should it justify this. The crux of the matter is that the gil sellers make money out of a program that DOES NOT belong to them. They dont pay SE royalty for those gains, and hence should not be allowed to make the money. You might as well authorise internet cafes to charge for FFXI accounts. There are many people who are "poor" in the world, "poor" being a relative terms, but many people earn with decent jobs, that dont involve cheating. I'm an Asian and I understand the subject of poverty, but i dont condone what is being done here.

To the gil sellers, I say: GET AN HONEST JOB!!

To the two of you: Get your thoughts straight!! Dont shoot the policeman.

The poster above posted a link to a thread involving gil buyers, bribers, and a whole lot of mess.

I think this post in particular shows the effect that both gil buying and gil selling have on players who spend their time and energy working hard for items that some people cheapen and have no idea even how to use to the item's fullest potential:

LOL

Never seen a bigger pile of bullsh*t all in once place before in my entire life.

First off, lets start with Ironbull. You @#%^in @#%^, at that NM camp, you were following me and blocking my view on purpose. I am a taru, you are a galka. So naturally when your big ugly fat *** stands directly in front of me, i cannot see anything else on my screen. Every time i asked you to move, you wouldn't. When I'd move so I could see, you'd stand in front of me again. I asked GM do you need it? You replied yes. You got in trouble for harassing me, and for the record I don't know any GMs.

Now for the biggie, that @#%^in gil buying bribing piece of sh*t galka dark knight, Spsyntrnks. I've been waiting for you or one of your goons to post on here. Glad you finally did. Maybe you'd like to clear it up for everyone that doesn't know what you did, was try to bribe me.

I met this *** in one of my exp pts, he was sucking so bad couldn't hit worth sh*t and the leader was sending me tells saying that he thought this drk was a gilbuyer cause all the awsome equipment but no knowhow on how to play his character. I went afk for a smoke and come back to see the chat log where the leader had asked him if he bought gil, and Spsyntrnks saying yes. Now I said ok stop. I'm gonna leave this pt because i'm not going to in anyway help a person that had cheated, made my life harder being a nm camper, made the game even worse cause of market control, and i'm awfull sick of rich ppl getting whatever the hell they want with NO work at all. IF you got 1000$'s of $$ to shell out on a video game, your rich. Anyways i tell the pt peace out, and tell Spsyntrnks i'm calling a GM so he knew which one of the pt members did it.

I warp back to jeuno, sit in my mog house for about 10 min and i got several tells from Spsyntrnks offering me astral rings he had, trying to bribe me. I kept waiting for GM response until i had to go to my friends house, so went afk. Got back later and the GM had tried to contact me and said to resend GM call. During the time I was gone from pc, I had thoughts in my head about the bribe that was offered to me. And I remember'd seeing a peacock charm around this ******* neck. This item was my FFXI life's work. I spent over 2k hours on it and ended up getting 2 in the last 100 hours. But I spent months in that cave, prolonging my lvling, my adventures, ect. do to the need to farm. And I always here "well you could have made so much more doing blah blah blah instead with all that time" but after a month of your life wasted in that place, you want to have something to show for it. So I didn't stop camping until i got one, and by chance next week got another. So imagine how I feel when this @#%^ waltz's around bragging to ppl about his gear and he did not do a goddamn thing to earn it. He doesn't know what the value of it is, spoiled little *******'s daddy prolly bought it for him. So when I got back to my pc latter that day, I sent him tells telling him exactly what i told you. Acussing him of being apart of the destruction of this game, and telling him how much he doesn't deserve that charm. His reponses" so its this charm you want?" i follow up "better than in your hands" and argue until he agrees to give it to me. Afterwards he calls me an extortionist and i ignore and leave. Now I did have a concience problem at this point in time. I just took something away from somebody who stole the gil to buy it from 100's of players... but I didn't call the GM.

Next day I get tells from my LS members about it. They invite me into a pt that had been going on long before i got there. They had there minds made up, scribe gives it back, or we leave him. Turns out that 1/2 of my new ls was gil buyers themselves.
And they were friends with this Spsyntrnks. So of course not a damn person agree'd with me cause it was his RL money... boo @#%^ing hoo.

This kid is responsible for all the archer's rings, kote's, signa's, that never fell into the hands of a honest camper. This kid has done what has takin me 200 days gameplay in 70 days or less. He has told me only one thing, rich ppl are better than me.

My ls situation went like this 1/2 were gil buyers so they left and started another ls. 1/4 didn't care about gil buying cause they didn't camp NMs do it didn't effect them and they didn't see it as wrong, they went to the new ls. and the last 1/4 saw that 2/3 of the ls were gone, agree'd with me but followed them.

So I decided the only moral thing to do and to free my concience was to.... call that goddamn GM. Turns out the @#%^ing gm didn't even do sh*t about it, so in reality the only way this cheating @#%^ got punished was loosing his charm.

Since this, I've been getting tells every hour, MPK threats, and now this @#%^ing @#%^ has the balls to threatin me in real life. Spsyntrnks, I will kill you, as in end your @#%^in life, if you ever try to comfront me in RL.

But I'm proud as i'm sure alot of you would like to hear, lol. I even helped out those that do the honest hard work camping by bumping its value 2 mill ^^.

And ya, I do have alot of ppl that hate me, i've gotten into alot of fights, problems, issues, ect. with many ppl.

Somebody once said to me" Scribe your always right, you always gotta be @#%^ing right"
and now I think, what would you say if you found out I always was right? ^^

anyway peace out

Spsyntrnks bribe and blackmailing are not the same thing, you wouldn't have lost a damn thing had you A) not cheated B) not offered me a bribe C) had the one thing that I worked harder than anything to get

I am very conflicted about the issue. I am a rare middle-ground type. The issue is a very complicated one.
Allow me to unconflict and uncomplicate it for you. They don't belong in vana, and we pay dearly for their activities everyday at the AH. Prime example is archer's ring, imo based on my server of midgard. Because of them, high lv players are paying more for items simply because they can afford to pay it and gil sellers count on that. Because of the high lv players who can afford 600k-1,000,000g archer rings, therefore increasing sniper ring costs, ppl like me are forced to pay the price when we need that sniper ring(s), which can tear our wallets up quick because we are not filthy rich. That really sucks, and if someone tells me to deal with it which basicly is saying it's ok for gil sellers to ***** our economy up because they are nice ppl and just trying to make a dollar, then I feel sorry for you for you have so totally been pity-whipped. Whoever "you" may be, that is. I'm sure quite a few ppl on these boards are "you" :/

Sure there are plenty of ppl around here who play the same game as gil sellers, except for them it's about greed or really needing all the gil you can get cause you're a poor ****. I don't doubt it's the work of regular joes raising emp pin to over 700k on my server, gil sellers rarely go after such hard catches though i'm sure the newb sellers will try ^^ So yeah I know this is used as an arguement but again prime ex is archer's ring and the 6+ gil sellers that will camp it and destroy any chance of regular joes getting some rings which means they got a monopoly and they take full advantage of it on midgard. Even with new spawn locations, Dress and company still get most rings because they are always on. I tire of their monopoly -.- ***** them I say, let them find a real job and be as nice as they want to be to coworkers in a real life job.

Now an ex of some gil sellers i don't mind as much as the others, would be mining gil sellers. They mine to make money. Do it constantly so payout is big for them, constant flow of gil. My problem with them is their bazaars and AH undercutting and pending on who is at the helm, nasty mouths. They gotta unload ore and get back to work constantly. That annoys me obviously, i don't wanna sell my iron for 400gil. So I don't care for them either but they are totally different from other gil sellers, they drop prices not raise them. If you wanna feel sorry for a gil seller, miner gil sellers need your attention. I don't hound them as much as I used to, and can even be helpful when you're the only one there besides them to move mining points along. But I still want them gone cause some ppl that will play on those characters can be very nasty mouthed because you got to a point before them.

DO NOT FEEL SORRY FOR PEOPLE WHO LOOSE THEIR ACCOUNTS FOR SELLING GIL!!!

That is like feeling sorry for a band loosing money for making profits on stolen songs.

They agreed to the terms of playing the game when they choose to sell gil or other virtual items. They decided the risk was worth the rewards. It is their fault for choosing a risky source of income.

I quit FFXI in large part cause of the gil sellers and I check the boards now and then to see if they are being aggressively pursued and accounts are being banned.

I agree you can not stop gil selling permantly, but like any other illegal money making (and yes it is illegal) you can make the cost of doing buisness too high by finding these people and taking action on them. Some will just never quit. Probably the gamerz who play the game for fun too. But the ones who play the game only to make money will seek other routes of less friction to make their money.

There are also online games out there that RL money transactions are welcomed and implicated into the game. Gil sellers and gil buyers have options they can pursue, i feel no sympathy to them for breaking the rules on a game I play.

TY to the OP for doing the right thing. Moral dilemma...kinda...but you did what had to be done, and had the language skills to do so.

As for the asshats telling the OP to go committ suicide and what not, that's ridiculous. You seriously want someone to die for doing what they could to make the game better for the masses? That's sick and wrong to even suggest.

Very, very good post. I would rate you up, but you're already at 5.00. ^^

I don't understand why they admitted that they sold/bought gil. They basically turned themselves in by doing that. Oh well...at least a GM was called and was notified of the situation.

I never bought any gil online, because it is illegal. Keep that in mind while reading this post. I'm just making an ironic/weird comment.

I cant believe why NA players ( who posses the loudest shouts about GS in lower jeuno ) would scream "GET A REAL JOB" at Chinese Gil Seller and complain about TOS of some random game. I can make what would be about 7$ US/hour ar my part-time job, while being at school. A month ago, a friend told me that he bought 300k gil for 25$ US. Wow. Nice deal. I can make about 40 000 gil a fulltime farming day. A DAY. Now use your brains dumbass complainers. Everything someone asked for age in pty, most answers i've seen were from 14-22 years old. Since this game requires monthly payment, I think most of you out there have a job, or at least some money income and can get 25$ faster than farming/mining/camping 300k gil (not EVERYONE, but a large majority) . Whats ironic, is that why capitalism-crazy nations who actually whine about it existing, while not whine about it being illegal. I'm pointing at Nike and such right now ^^. That was the ironic part.

Now the funny part. I'm well equiped for lvl 38, but I recently played with a Blm who actually enjoyed this game more than me while having lvl 20 gear and half of the spells I have. He said that "only ***** without a life only care about that, and I always buy the important ones."

My point is done. Rate me down as you like, i dont really care about it.
