New NPC factsFollow

I know my NPC in attacker mode has used Penta Thrust now and then. I'm curious if my NPC is gonna get Guillotine with her Mythril Scythe when she hits lvl 60. Guess I'll find out when I use up my Tactics Pearl. NPC currently lvl 57 very close to hitting 58.

I didn't see any new options for weaponskills at the Rendezvous point, and I haven't had the change to pull out my NPC yet so I don't know any combat changes just yet.

My NPC just hit 58 today (after a binge session thanks to the new Tactics Pearl) and I received the Chameleon Capers quest from Luto afterwards.

1)Speak to her and you get a cutscene as normal.
2)Head to Ru'Lude Gardens and talk to Muhoho (taru chick in Iron Musketeer's on the upper balcony of the palace)
3)Head to Bastok Mines and talk to Gelzerio (Galka at the counter of Boytz' Knickknacks store) for a cutscene
4)Head to Windurst Waters and talk to Chamama at the Rarab Tail Hostelry and you'll receive the key item Dust of Reversion
5)Back to Jeuno and talk to Luto for yet another cutscene
6)Go to Delkfutt's Tower, and inspect a ??? at J-9[corrected, my bad] of the first floor for a cutscene. Check another ??? at I-5 for another cutscene. Head back to the first ??? and check it again, which will spawn a pot NM Illusory Pot.

NM is VERY easy... my NPC was doing 140-170 a hit to it (then again he's level 58). We did 1789 damage to it, with Gunnar landing the final blow with 146 damage.

7)Once the pot is defeated, speak to your NPC, then inspect the ??? once more. After a cutscene you are given the choice of three Tactics Manuals - Fortitude, Might, or Endurance - and quest complete.

The Tactics Manuals are actually Rare items which CAN be Bazaar'd and traded.

To use the manual, just talk to your NPC at the Rendezvouz Point with it in your inventory. When you talk at the Rendezvous Point again, the new job is available to select from the job style menu.

When your NPC learns the new job, YOU DO NOT LOSE THE MANUAL. Therefore find other people with different manuals, trade, and unlock all three new jobs!

Also, at the same time my NPC has a 4th headgear choice (checked before completing quest)

aquestion for those who have increased the time the npc stays out...it's the number of mob increased as well?

Just to note, the first ??? is at J-9, not J-7. Confused me for a bit when I was looking at J-7 for a ???. Rest of the info is spot on.

Lvl'd my npc in Ulegeruand(sp) Range, controlled by bastok(-_-) atm, checked rendevouz point after and she was wearing a breastplate.

Also.... Mohazeris :/ You aren't xping your npc with fierce attacker, are you? Just checked you like 5min ago and the scroll is still in your bazaar, thought you had to give it to the npc or something :x

As for equipment changes, as I said it's probably not a guarenteed change, but that region control probably nudges the random choice in a certain direction. When I levelled my NPC yesterday in a Sandy region for 5 times in a row he started from half RSE, next call he had only one RSE piece on, and by the fifth call he was wearing only plate and scale gear. Actually, on 4th and 5th call he was wearing the exact same combination of plate/scale.

But yeah, scale/plate and wearing a red ribbon on top? ok o.o;

Also, I tried passing the manual onto a friend who was also levelling his NPC, but was nowhere near the Chameleon Capers point, and he was unable to get the new job when inspecting the RP. I don't know whether this means the manual is one-use only (damn I hope not) or can only be activated when you've completed the quest, but I sure hope it's the latter.

I played around with Aggressive Attacker and I notice absolutely nothing different except that instead of using all his polearm WS he seems to prefer Raiden Thrust and Vorpal Thrust exclusively.

I just unlocked the Chameleon Capers quest. It became available as soon as my NPC offered a fourth headgear option. I have NOT completed any of the Genkai quests, so yeah, Chameleon Capers is just based on affinity, and *maybe* requires Blighted Gloom to be completed, too.

Too bad I seem to be one of the few on my server leveling these - going to be hell finding the other two manuals.

Along with the armor, I have been leveling mostly in Windy areas and have noticed the scale mail was mostly common but did the promy and then she came out in lvl 1 rse. I also now have a new option in my Appearance area called "Fasionable Equipment" I just lets me pick on what I'd like her to keep wearing and then she will keep changing the other parts so I can pick and choice as she changes. I have not played much with it cause she usually comes out in something fugly, but I tested it out on her boots and she came out twice with the same boots on while I was not in the same controled zone. So all in all the feature works, but sucks she doesn't come out in better armor. She is also only level 51 and i've completed all the quests so far. If anyone has nocticed the difference in the new attack and or healing styles let me know cause I have not noticed anything as of yet.

Any maps yet? (specifically of Prom-Dem)

I am doing Promivion Dem with some LS mates tonight.
It would really help to know where the ??? is on the second floor, so that we can get that done, and make a try for the third.

If I can't get the second floor done in 15 minutes, we will not be going onto the third since you have to click a ??? to finish the quest and recieve the experience.

I doubt NPC level in any way affects what weapon level you can access. I can't prove it as I haven't done much with my NPC but.. I have the level 2 weapon upgrade and my NPC is still level 30. (I've only used him fighting creatures under level 30, so he's never died, I've never tossed the pearl and he's gotten crappy XP from sub 30 monsters.)

i lvld her in labarynth of onzozo while sandy had it and she got the carapace body, but then the tally took over and bastok got it.
