EXP gained after completing quest = Floor EXP + n*40 n - number of mobs killed). Floor EXP: - floor 1 - 300 - floor 2 - 500 - floor 3 - 750 - floor 4 - 1000
For example:
If you kill one mob on floor one, and click on ???, your NPC will gain 340 experience points.
If you kill 10 mobs and click on ??? on floor 3 your NPC will gain:
Exp = 750 + (10 * 40) = 1150 experience points

Level: 5 Rare/Ex
Enchantment: Signal
<Max Charges: 4 / Equip Delay: 30s / Reuse Timer: 10m>
After you use it you can call out your NPC in the same way as you use Signal Pearl. Your NPC stays the same amount of time and you can kill the same amount of mobs (20) in one session.
You can get a Tactics Pearl once a week (resets after Tally) - you must drop the pearl before you can get the new one. Then you have to repeat the Promyvion quest. Dropping your Tactical Pearl doesn't worsen your NPC affinity.

NPC Bond
Similar to Fame, your Bond with your Adventuing Fellow can be strengthened.
- Each time you use your Signal Pearl or Tactics Pearl you increase your Adventuring Fellow Bond (+1)
- Calling your Adventuring Fellow at a Rendezvous Point increases your Adventuring Fellow Bond (+1)
- You can also increase your Adventuring Fellow Bond by completing the following quests:
- Past Reflections - Blighted Gloom - Chameleon Capers - Blessed Radiance - Mirror Images
The strength of your bond will make new weapon upgrades available to your Adventuring Fellow, will allow you to increase your Adventuring Fellow's level cap, will allow for additional headgear options and increase the time that your Adventuring Fellow will fight by your side.
Here's the summary of NPC bond levels:

Currently the only known way to decrease your Adventuring Fellow Bond is by dropping your Signal Pearl.
In other words, don't drop your Signal Pearl if you want anything new with your NPC.

NPC Armor
Guide by Claodo
(original version)
The following is a guide to the ideal conditions to controlling the change in your NPC's equipment, this does not mean it is not possible to change your armor without following every single step. I spent the past couple weeks straight summoning my NPC in order to get armor I wanted for it and I have finally figured out the formula. Pretty much anything for the NPC can be found on Alla or some other site, this was the only info on NPC I could not find anywhere else and desperately needed.

Armor will change every single time you summon your NPC assuming you Kill untill max kills and do not let your timer run out (lvl of mob does not matter). You can kill lv1 mobs in the beginner areas and your armor will still change.
In order to ensure a higher probability of your armor changing along the proper path instead of reseting, you must fulfill the following each summon..
1) Kill max kills 2) Kill in the region controll you want the armor of. (ex: kill in Windy controlled Sarutabaruta to get Windy armor.) 3) You can NOT level your NPC anywhere else. (ex: if you have lvl 5 windy armor and you level in any non windy control area like sandy, your armor resets to lv1 sandy) 4) Region should not only be region controlled, but also have matching dominant power.
Here is where it gets a little more complicated. Each of your 4 armor pieces (head can not change by leveling) is on it's own separate path. So if you have lvl 5 windy body and next day you level in sandy, you could get lucky and your hand piece might change to lvl 1 sandy, or you could be unlucky and your body will revert back to lvl 1 sandy.
Adv Armor info - Fashionable Equipment - The Lock Method
It will be nearly impossible to have complete control of your armor at lower NPC affinity. As you progress, you will obtain the option to "lock" one single armor piece. This will allow you to unlock your armor when you are in the correct region to ensure your armor levels correctly, and "lock" your armor for the times you wish to summon your NPC outside of it's armor's region. This will become even handier later on because you will get more and more lock options. Once you obtain your third armor lock, you can then lock all pieces but the one you wish to change.
Your NPC will initially ask you what he or she should keep. If you answer "none", your NPC responds "well, thats kind of boring", this means nothing is locked and all 4 pieces of armor could change. Once you choose a piece of armor to lock, then all other pieces that you did not select will still be changable. You will know when you are able to lock more than once armor piece at a time because immediately following your choice of armor piece, your NPC will ask "What else?", then, you will be able to select from a list of the 3 still unlocked armor pieces to keep.
With that in mind, the best way to change your NPC's armor is.. (in addition to the previous steps)
1) Lock the 3 pieces you do not want changed so only 1 piece changes. 2) Grab a Tactics pearl and your charged Signal Pearl. 3) Go to the newb region that is controlled/dominant power you want the armor of. 4) Summon your NPC 5 times in a row killing max kills on lvl 1 mobs. 5) Unlocked piece of armor should have now changed from lvl 1 to lv6 in one sitting. 6) Now lock the lvl 6 armor piece so it will no longer change.
Now that we have gone past the beginner and the advance information, here is the part that is going to absorb quite a lot more of your time.
It seems like if you follow that formula exactly, you should get your NPC's desired armor in a couple weeks max (unless you want all 4 pieces to be lvl 10). However, every once in a while, even when doing everything correct, your armor will reset to lvl 1 for no reason. If you do not have the lock, you could theoretically just never lvl your NPC outside the region of control/dominant power, but it seems like when the upgrades jump from hand, to body, to leg, to foot, they have a tendancy to reset and not be as reliable. This being the case, the progression of armor levels is as follows..
Adv Armor info - Armor Progression Formula
Assume you want a piece of lvl 6 windy armor..
Start at lvl 1 Successfull/correct summon #1 - Windy L2 Successfull/correct summon #2 - Windy L3 Successfull/correct summon #3 - Windy L4 Successfull/correct summon #4 - armor resets to LV1 Successfull/correct summon #1 - Windy L2 Successfull/correct summon #2 - Windy L3 Successfull/correct summon #3 - Windy L4 Successfull/correct summon #4 - Windy L5 Successfull/correct summon #5 - armor resets to LV1 Successfull/correct summon #1 - Windy L2 Successfull/correct summon #2 - Windy L3 Successfull/correct summon #3 - Windy L4 Successfull/correct summon #4 - Windy L5 Successfull/correct summon #5 - Windy L6
Simply put, the pattern is 1234, 12345, 123456, 1234567
This does not always happen, but it can. In all likelihood, the higher the level you advance, there is a progressive % chance that your armor will reset. This is very likely why some people can get to lvl 10 in a couple tries, where as other people who do not level with the correct steps might have to follow the formula above.
Adv Armor info - Armor Progression Variables
Other Variables that can effect NPC armor change are fighting certain beastment as well as mobs that drop certain crystal types. This may heighten the probability of your armor progressing on the proper path.
Fire: San d'Oria Earth: Bastok Water: Windurst Dark: Beastmen Orc: San d'Oria Quadav: Bastok Yagudo: Windurst Goblin: Beastmen
Important Facts
*Your armor will not change in Promy no matter what, even if your armor is unlocked.
*NPC Headgear has nothing to do with where you level. As you fullfill certain flags like Genkai, weapon upgrades, NPC affinity, NPC quests, you will automatically unlock more headgear options. Headgear can be changed at anytime at any Rendezvous Point.
*Your NPC's armor is purely aesthetic and affects your NPC's stats in no way whatsoever.
*There are only 3 armor locks available as of the latest patch, prior to this patch, it was possible to immediately lock all 4 pieces after obtaining the "Fashionable Equipment" option. Now you must earn the locks as you progress in your NPC's affinity, quests, genkai, and weapon upgrades.
*If you are still having trouble getting the armor that you want, make sure to lock 3 of your armor pieces so that only one can change at a time. This will obviously take longer to get the full set of armor you want, but makes the armor changes much more reliable.
Unconfirmed Information
*Certain quests may still effect your NPC's armor change; i.e. NPC Genkai 2. If you have armor you want unchanged, it is best to make sure it is locked at all times whether you are leveling or questing, just in case.
*It is possible that your NPC's current job may effect you NPC's gear change. Changing your NPC to Healer may in fact aid in Windy armor progression, Shield for Sandy, and Attacker for Bastok. Focusing on Beastmen type mobs could increase chances of getting Beastmen cycle armor.
*Even though it has been proven you can get armor like Scorpion Harness before the normal required level, it could still be possible that your NPC's armor progression is effected in a way that makes higher level armors harder to get while your NPC is still at lower levels. So leveling your NPC to the level of the actual in game equipment could increase your chances of your armor not reseting on you.
This may seem like a lot to absorb, but spend a week or so leveling your NPC's gear, then come back and print this guide out. You will see that you will need most of this info. Once you get the hang of it, leveling NPC gear is not that hard at all.
