C'mon someone has to have the blighted Gloom quest.

What if you took 6 people in the promyvion for ENM but left one out for the NPC (WHM?). I wonder if theirs a ??? on differnt levels that give your NPC more EXP. Or by killing more mobs in there you get a bigger exp bonus. I heard someone got 200, but I got 500 by killed ~5mobs.

<edit> I do mean after I click the ??? and it says <ft> gains &^% expeirence points.

To anyone wondering how to get a new Tactics Pearl, here is what I found out through my own research. (which is gradually continuing)

It was my experience that one can quest for a new Tactics Pearl once per day. I got my first one last night, then after JPN midnight this morning (ET) once my old Tactics Pearl had been used up, I was able to quest for a new one.^^ However I was reminded that today was the Conquest Tally - so it in fact very well could be once per week - which seems a little long, but could be entirely possible.

**On a side note, totally unrelated, I do know that the New Exp. Rings (which were revealed in the same update as the Tactics Pearl) can only be bought or recharged once per Conquest Tally - the Conquest NPC informs you of this upon purtchase. This does lead me to believe that the Tactics Pearl may act the same way. However, I have yet to test this out for myself, but many posts imply the pearl may be obtained only once per week. =)

To recieve a new Tactics Pearl you have to drop the old one first. It is not recharged per se, but actually replaced by your NPC. The used Pearl can be tossed before or after you have completed the Promyvion quest once again. However, you will not be able to recieve a new Pearl until you have disposed of the old one first.

And yes - you must allow your NPC to ask you to help him investigate the Emptiness again before you can call him from the Rendezvous Point inside the Promyvion (which is found just after you zone into whichever Promyvion you choose to go to).

I hope this answers any questions anyone may have. Take care^^

EDIT: Also you can adjust the exp your NPC recieves by the # of kills you make before completing the quest it seems.

The formula seems to be:

(base exp gained=300)+ 40exp(# of kills) = EXP gained after completing quest**

So if you kill two mobs the exp gained would be:

300+ 40(2) = 380

There must be a cap of some sort - or else everyone could go crazy leveling their NPC =)

I don't know if this is true but based on what I have read and my own experience this seems to be the formula used. Let me know if I am wrong please. =)

Mystery Tour states you may quest for a new Tactics Pearl every 3 R/L days. I have not tested it yet but got a new Tactics Pearl b4 the new conquest Tally and a little over 3 days since I had quested for my previous one. Hope this helps. =)

I can't trade a Kanesada to Luto - she just doesn't accept it.

Do you trade 3rd teir weapons directly to your NPC?\

Also, I got my tactics pearl yesterday, then I did the limit break quest.

My NPC levled to 51 today and at the RP, I got the Promy quest again. I haven't used any charges on my Tactics Pearl - should I use them up, throw it away and then do the promy quest again? Just do the promy quest?

Anyone else get it again and do it? What happens?

You can get a new Tactics Pearl once per WEEK, starting on the reset on Sunday. I have had this confirmed by two other people and myself. The quest is exactly the same as the first time, and you must drop your Tactics pearl before you can get the new one.


Edit: Now that I think about it, has anyone tried to get all the way to the top for the Promy quests? Do you just need to get to the second level to get the Gloom quest?

very well done everything was very detailed,and the information was very easy to understand,i have printed out the information for future reference thank you for posting this you deserve a big rate up for this great info topic.

What level is your NPC and what quests have you done previous to getting it?

A couple friends and I are all trying to get this. We all have level 50 NPCs, did the food quest, did the Promy quest (floor 1) and got the 3rd weapon upgrade. We havent gotten the G1 quest yet, since our guys are more like 50.50 instead of 50.99, so one more day of leveling to go.

Assuming the Promyvion escort formula above is correct (300 + 40*mobs), then the cap is 1500 experience. I killed 33 mobs today, and only received 1500 experience by clicking the ??? on the first floor.

And yes, I do believe the formula is correct after asking several friends about their exp. gains. No idea about ??? on other floors, though.

It all seems to random, I get my weapon upgrade 4 levels before you do? hmmmm...

Supposedly there is a quest you have to do before you can get NPC G1. I believe it involves a girl in Windy Waters, and you pose in certain gear for her, and you get her autograph as a reward. I have done that quest, the food quest, the promy quest, and my NPC is well into level 50, but no G1 yet... :_:

Heh, decided to try a little experiment and solo to the second floor in Promy Holla. Needless to say I forgot about those fences, and got agroed right as i got to the ???. I couldn't fight my way out, and died. Tried to do the quest again, and I cant seem to get it.

So, if you fail, you might have to wait until next week, or until the next day, or the next time you summon your NPC. I'll keep you posted.

i'd suggest fighting something higher in level, those monsters are 47-51, so your npc was getting anywhere from 80-120xp per kill, and since kills are limited you were getting less than half of what you could be getting.

The armor that you see on your NPC is purely cosmetic. It has no effect on their attack/defense/MP/etc.

I did it as a naked blm/whm. Just be smart about it and wait for the mobs to move.

Perhaps all of these quests are actually dependant on the relationship you have with your NPC. Dropping the pearl is a major hit to your relationship points so maybe that's why you couldn't get the quest even though your NPC is 1 tnl. Also for the rest of you who have had trouble getting these quests even though it seems you've met all the prerequisites, have you let your NPC die at all?
