that's true. I am overjoyed by the change to benediction too. I'll feel uber when I have to use it now (though it IS pretty rare). Brd and whm sound like they might become fun jobs again!

To Alrefie, as a whm I have to say I like plds. In my exp, atleast up to a level 55 pt, the problem with pld occurs everytime when the pld runs outta mp. They can hold hate, and take hits. They are the definition of a classic tank. Ok, not going to drag this into a pld v nin arguement. I like 90% of everything I've heard so far. The other 10%...I'll have to wait and see.

oh i dont understand the ranger thing, is that, the dmg will be high no matter what distance, only acc effected, but if we use sharpshot then acc will be good no matter what distance.

Only for Sharp shot will the distance not matter. :P

To get to the new continent, it can be accessed from Mhaura.

Wow, everyone is going to be exping in the dunes shortly so we can get the OP Warp in the Pennisula done.

You learn a spell only if your within a certain lvl amount of the mob.

This sucks. While this does make it so you can't go around slaughtering TWTBW to get abilities, if you miss an ability along the way, you're screwed if you need it at a later level. Anyone leveling BLU, GET EVERY SPELL WHEN AVAILABLE. You can't wait until 75 for that spell "you don't think you'll need", cause it will be too late.

Quote:
Each spell will have certain amount of set up points, so you will have to set spells until you have no more set up points.

This whole set-up point seemed confusing, until I realized I play a lot of Dungeons and Dragons. If anyone has played D&D, you'll note that Sorcerers have access to all their spells whenever they want to cast them, except they are limited by spells per day. A BLM works this way, they can cast any spell in their repetoire - provided they have enough MP (i.e. spells per day). A Wizard must prepare spells every day, and then may only cast the spells chosen, as limited by spells per day. A BLU, therefore, will be more like a Wizard - say for instance, at level 1, you have 10 set-up points. Whirl Claws is 5 points, Sprout Smack is 2 points, and Plaguebreath is 8 points. You can set Whirl Claws and Sprout Smack or Plaguebreath and Sprout Smack, but not Whirl Claws and Plaguebreath. You can then cast those spells as often as you want, as limited by MP. Changing your set spells will probably have to be done at the Mog House, since changing on the fly in battle may be too powerful? There is no "full rest" in FFXI, so Mog House seems likely choice.

Your number of set-up points likely increases with level, possibly with AF too, so while a BLU can only have a couple weaker abilities or one strong situational ability at low levels, you can probably access everything at higher levels. I'd love to pick wether or not I want Dimensional Death and Spider Web or simply just Meteor (we can hope, right?), but it also makes deciding what to bring to a particular camp or a pick-up party much more difficult. BLU will be a thinking man's job, and I love that ^^

Also, I like that the ability is gained from defeating the monster, and not from a scroll/being hit by the attack. This means you can learn abilities that aren't attacks, I can't wait to go around murdering Dhalmel for Whistle.

: : Edit : :
It also sounds like they are listening to players and helping BST recover from their nerf. /hurray!

The same mob is repeated multiple times and such so you'll have many chances to learn the monsters abilites.

The Besiege thing looks great. ^^ But I'm curious. It said you will automatically be placed in a party to kill the offending beastmen. What if you are already in a party and getting ready to go somewhere? ^^;

If your PLD is running out of MP in chain 2-3 they suck. Plain and simple.

The problem with PLD is endgame. No one wants us. We are a "waste of MP" (ive had people actually say that to me). No matter what defenseve gear we stack on we still get wailed on for 300+ damage. VIT+5 dosent mean ****. Full koenig shaves off like 5-10 damage off a 300 damage hitting mob. The entire damage system needs a overhaul.

Giving PLD auto refresh is a band-aid.

You get auto allianced XD. We were able to play beseiged, it was crazy becasue they had **** load of Alienware pc lined up, and you sat down at a comp, you were already in a pt with a lvl 75 character w/ full AF, and all ws's. You had to play that job >< lol I was rdm, I had never played rdm before.

But they let us play Beseiged, when the beastmen started attacking the town we were auto-allianced. It went crazy, most ppl were playing jobs they have never played before, and there were no macros. So ppl are rushing to make sometype of macro while we are fighting and ****. XD

It was fun though, I got to play rdm. XD

Omg it has been my dream to control a puppet to do my bidding. Finally I can achieve it.... The puppet and the Card user look to be the best new jobs.

I could care less about blu it seems like a fun job but im not gonna rush off to try it. I can live with the wait

The mobs attacking the towns thats great great way to kill time while waiting for xp party.

Im hoping the new pvp system is a 1v1 system where you can go to a set area and duke it out 1v1. Most people will sub /nin but thoes who don't it could be fun!

#35 Mar 11 2006 at 1:56 AM Rating: Decent
Worst job ever? Glad to see you know nothing about your own job lol, before 60 drg are the best dd undesputed, after 60 they are still in top 5 the rest of the game

Monk

They are adding so a monk will not just punch lol
An idea is to give Hp to other pt members, since they have so much HP.

w....t...f!

What a useless pos idea that is. Seriously. They need to put down the crack pipe and say to themselves "You know what would be a better idea than this POS one we came up with for mnk?..."

I seriously hope this does not happen. And if it does, well then I'll just be the evil MNK with all my HP still, because I'll never use this ability even if the whole party dies. GTFO with this bs SE.

God damn this is retarded on such a level that it gives me a nose bleed from lowering my IQ so fast.

In addition to my first post, this one involves BLM. They are NOT nerfing BLM, at all. There will be no denying BLM to from a pt to manaburn.

So to "fix" the issue they are ADDING TO MOST JOB ABILITIES, to balance things out.

They are adding spells for BLM to make them more inviting for higher lvl, because at higher lvls BLM are considered useless for Merit point pt because of down time for mp. If they were to make it so BLM couldnt manaburn, then they would have to do all jobs like that, becasue there are all MNK pt's, all SMN pt's, and I have seen all DRG pt's.

They specifically said that while manaburning is a creative way to play, they didn't envision that to be the only way to win CERTAIN battles and/or missions, so that is why they are ADDING job abilities for most jobs.

They also said that affecting manaburn pt's would be affect how certain ppl want to play, and they DO NOT want to interfere with that. So the solution was to Increase most job abilities and spells.

Translation:
Since BLM makes up a much larger percentage of paying customers than BST, we better not **** them off the way we did the few paying customers who play BST.

If they nerfed BLM, there would be a never ending cycle of nerfs eventually to all jobs, because their is always something that someone will not like about a job they don't even, or have played very little.

They said:

They said there will be abilties and attributes updated with the expansion, and More in the future. If people would don't like their job becoming stronger, then oh well. A better solution is making other jobs more powerful to balance things out, not to decrease a job, and they know that it's not about "more BLM pay", It's trying to please every one. Even though Whm new ability is kind of lame..XD

I'm trying my best to relay happy info, but I know some people will never be satisfied.(some people in general)

If I hear anything new about BST, I will be sure to post it.

SAM, when they hit the enemy will decrease the amount of TP the mob gets.

Monks get Chakra-ga, Warriors are chucking axes, and SAM gets subtle blow? Ouch.

Well, could be a Subtle blow to a much higher degree.
Like.. Sam hits mob, Sam gains 18tp, Mob loses 5 tp.
Whereas, Subtle blow itself still gives the mob tp
