Haha! Day 20 and some good news (for me at least!)

After checking my adolescent choco today to see if he was better, he was, so I took him on a regular walk to La Theine Plateau. I met up with the three humes and their black tipped choco and got the option to compete with others. So I go in for it, but immediately notice that it's rigged from the beginning; My choco has the outside line! No fair!

Well, seeing the faces on them after I beat their choco by close to 2 choco lengths was satisfaction enough. "Haha, losers! I win!" That's with all stats poor and "Likes you a lot" (he was in a coma for 5 or 6 days and was starving ; ; ). He's all better now, and gonna keep getting better.

And for the record, NeddyDunkles® is ©.

Regarding meeting the other Nation's choc-trainer:

Pretty sure this is to do with conquest, when my Windurstian choc walked in Tahrongi Canyon - Sandy had control of Kolshushu and I met Hantileon and Air, and when my Sandy choc walked in La Theine he met the Bastok guy and Blod with Bastok being in control of Zulkheim...This reminds me of the NPC Fellow and his armour (I wonder what happens if you walk in a Beastmen-controlled area)

Something to think about anyway

Started later than everyone else on raising my chocobo.. currently only on day 13, and abusing the hell out of any information already gathered by others. :D

So far, I've been raising my chick purely on vomp carrot paste (homegrown; can't /afford/ to buy it), and a schedule of walks, walks, and for variety, some walking. I'm hoping to boost her strength and endurance a whole hell of a lot, and have been keeping obsessive notes on what's fed, when, and all that other stuff. If I wind up with anything colored (unlikely!), I'll share my (admittedly uninspired) raising methods~

Anyone have there Choc go from "Ideal for carrying packages" to "ideal for carrying items" or did I just misread my message the first time?

Today I saw the cutscene for "Play with children" which was cute, but they need to be longer. ;-; I want hours of choco cuteness!
I also tried to take a walk in saruta again. No new event, but a new cutscene where you and the chocobo stand next to each other watching the ocean. :) Was sweet.

Nothing new except that, though my chocobo has recovered from her boredom. ^^

Nice find about getting a new story. Gonna have to race more now!

day 20 - Mine had the boredom thing today, so i raced her twice and she won both times ^^ by very very far! i love my FireMelodie, but she's still bored
-.-

And on another note, for the past 2 days now my chocobo has had the Military personality, i'm wondering if she might be at least part Destrier showing through, has anyone else had the Military personality on a yellow chocobo for more then one day in a row? Just curious.

My chocobo still hasn't devolopped a personality. The region control thing is interesting. Maybe beastman controlled is jueno? Anyways for anyone worried, you can still meet your choco's home nation dude on short walks after it's in its' 3rd stage.(I know I am going to mispell Adelescense) Their choco's follow your aging patterns.

Day 21...

What a troublesome day for me and my chocobo AutmnFairy!

I let her exhibit to the public today. The townspeople were really excited over my chocobo. I got 200 Gil (!!!) from the VCS trainer as a lil thanks for the service.

Then she told me my chocobo is injured and i should give her a clump of gausebit wildgrass to get better. (Her leg was a lil bit injured)

Then i got the CS that my chocobo is bored and i should let her compete against other.

Then she told me my chocobo has its fill and has calmed down. XD

The next thing i did was buying gausebit wildgrass and gave it to my chocobo. Then i fed her a zegham and a vomp carrot, after that she was completly full. When i watched over her she didn't look happy. In fact she looked so down that i wanted to cuddle her. My poor AutmnFairy. ;_; Even her leg was injured i took her out for a short walk. Got the new CS with the ocean. Yeah, like Leinadi said, it was very nice to watch! After that i decided for a regular walk in the canyon. And there i met the elvaan guy again (second time now). But since my chocobo is injured i didn't let her compete against others. If she'll be better tomorrow i'll do it then.

All the stats of my chocobo are still poor. *sigh* Even that i feed her only zegham carrots for 4 days now and even that i only let her listen to music and let her exhibit to the public. I wonder... maybe i just got a very weak chocobo out of my bought egg? Still... i love my chocobo. She's just to cute not to love her. ;)

Yuss! After Serre Esprit carried some packages around (She's the "very patient" type), her strength rose to "Substandard." So now she's got Substandard strength AND endurance. She's gonna be a little champion, she is! ^^

She also beat Best in the race! Yay!

My choco has had this personality now for close to a week. Ill tempered / ideal for military use or something to that effect.

I wonder what it means when a choco has no personality? Mine had multiple personalities but now it has none.

Went to check my chocobo today. I recieved the message that it was bored and wanted to compete with other chocobos. I raced it today and won again, hoping it will go back to normal tomorrow.

My chocobo is kinda scary looking today, hoping it doesnt kill me in my sleep.

Anyone know what this message means?

"It is very sensitive, making it good with people"

I've had this 2 days in a row now.

Got it first after my chocobo was perky and I gave it a Parasite Worm. It then got sick the next day, and fed it Tokopekko Wildgrass. After it recovers, it's perky again and I still have the message that it is good with people.

Anyone have any possible theories?

Day 21

Paid 200 gil for delivering packages

Fed 3 vomps

Competed and won 3rd race in a row (didn't think I'd win cause there was a slither of energy missing because of deleivering packages)

Given another story: The Happy Chocobo

Took on Regular Walk (noticed it rained again)

Read the story

No more energy for anything

All stats still poor, no personality, no abilities, no pref for any kind of weather.

It probably has a natural inclination to get better at one of the mental attributes, likely Receptivity. If you focus on it with zegham carrots, exhibiting to the public, stuff like that, it will probably get to Substandard sooner than your other stats.

Day 20: Won my 3ed race. As a prize I was given another storybook, the Happy Chocobo" reading it seems to have increased my Chocobo's desire to be around me.

Had mine on carrying package today. My birdy earned me 200 gil, but they werent joking that it would drop affection. When i checked my birds affection was down 1 level, where it wanted to be with me all the time. I did "Compete with others" then 1 "Watch over" and it was back to "regarded as parent".
#247 Sep 11 2006 at 8:45 PM Rating: Decent
The "Chocoma" is because of your care plan. At one point or another it got exhausted, because it wasnt fed one day... which happens from a day of rest. if immediately after the day of rest you had listen to music or take a walk or something like that, it wont get fed again, it will be asleep from no energy. the only way to "fix" that is to set care plan 0 to be basic care. Get that chocobo on basic care as soon as you can, because with basic care, no matter what happens, the Trainers will feed it a tiny bit. so if you set it to basic care, the next day it will still be asleep (because the previous day you couldnt feed it ). but then the day AFTER that it will be awake, because it slept through a basic care day, and was presumably fed a bit. I hope that helps

As soon as my chocobo entered in the juvenil stage I changed care plan 0 to "Delivering packages" and today I got the results from that. Her strenght went from "poor" to "substandar" with only one day of this plan. No changes on affection yet, she still regards me as his parent, but she was "bored" an the trainer recomended leting her compete against other chocobos. I already have done that twice yesterday (and won twice), so I made her compete twice today again. First race my chocobo loose but the second time she won, as this was our third victory I got a cutscene where the other trainers start arguing with each other and one of them gave me the key item "story of a happy chocobo". I read the stories at least once a day to my chocobo but nothing has triggered yet. Next day I set the care plan to "Exercise alone" to test the effect on endurance. I'll try to schedule the plans as much as my chocobo's energy allows it on the more intensive plans for strength.

On previous pages of this thread there are examples of what ppl did to wake up their bird.

I've had this condition on 2 of my 4 birds twice now.Second time I did it intensionally.

All I do is set all Plans that you can to "Basic Care" and wait.

DO NOT care for the bird.

DO NOT persoanlly interact with the bird in any way.

Just check with the trainer each day to see if it's awake yet.
