I'm on week 4 and no update, SE is still doing whatever they do lol. 3 weeks since I sent them the fourm and no word yet.

On a side note a friend of mine got his account back the day after they hacked him, he lost 2mil in gear/gil. SE couldnt return anything and now wont return him to the server he started on, his card paid for the transfer btw and now they will no put him back >.<, So sadly he has quit. SE's reason for not allowing the retransfer was it was his card that was used for the transfer and thay can't prove he didn't do this himself or some BS like that.

That's very odd. SE seems to have been very good about transferring people back to their home world for free. But it also seems people are getting hit with other fees I assume because the account thieves use bad credit cards and SE charges all current fees when a valid card is used. Something they need to fix.

Far from BS, because you CAN easily lie and say you didn't pay for it and switch cards. SE still has the right to charge you for it because, can you prove otherwise you didn't use the last card to make the transfer? Not easily. This situation is easily exploitable which is why SE is doing what happens.

People are getting free transfers back home when things check out and no red flags are raised, however, your char transfers, you get the account back before the hacker's card get charged, you switch cards, they can't process the last card, red flag instantly, so they charge the new card for the transfer, which counts as YOUR transfer TO the new server, even if you didn't do it. It's just bad luck is all.

Well I'm waiting for a rep on the web chat help, and got a rather disturbing message: "If you are receiving a LM-17 error please refer to out "Accounts Banned" announcement at www.playonline.com we're sorry but any action taking against your account in regards to this announcement will not be reversed"

So either I've been lied to since day one or this is bs.. oh and the "taking" typo was theirs not mine.
#81Theonehio, Posted: Feb 21 2008 at 10:55 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Lol, lied to? No. Your account was likely used by RMT FOR RMT purposes. Therefore read the Accounts banned announcement.

The appeals process for being banned due to RMT is almost silly, they cant notice sudden IP changes within the timeframe that the suspected RMT activity happened? Even if the RMT are using proxies, SE on their end will still notice a change in login address outside of a normal set of circumstances. The STF says they have login info on every character account that logs in, why not use it to figure out things?

If you filled about a notarized form declaring you were hacked then SE could go after you for perjury if you lied about the world-shift, the amount of time it'd take to get a 'free' world transfer even if you played the system would be rediculous. People are on like week 4 of waiting for responses, thats hardly 'speedy service'.

I saw that same message - your best bet is to call the call center and talk to someone. They will be able to assist you better than the online method. I waited online for well over an hour and never got anyone to assist me.

Do you have any clue what you're talking about, the message was more for the OP than someone stumbling upon a forum while bored and responding to things. I have been told since day one that they will investigate, and if they find w/e RMT action took place while I was hacked, I would get my account returned. So if this message is saying banned accounts will stay banned then yeah I was lied to. Find another thread to ***** on, or go work for SE cause if you don't have a problem with the way they are banning legit accounts then there is something wrong.. I've never even used windower I play on 360, besides one time logging onto a PC, and this is what that got me.

So really I don't care if you want to believe what I say is true, being someone who obviously didn't get screwed over like this you really have no clue. On top of this I don't get why you are so dead set against SE doing whats right for it's customers. They ban rmt because they affect gameplay for legit players. I don't see how you can affect anyone more than getting them banned on a legit account. So if this continues it is far worse than what the rmt hackers are doing, items can be replaced, the time I've spent and the people I've become friends with cannot.
#85Theonehio, Posted: Feb 21 2008 at 11:17 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) "Someone who obviously wasn't screwed over", yeah, saying I "don't know what I'm talking about" yet you can talk about my life you obviously have no clue on? ;)

My god man this is exactly what I'm saying. I said nothing about understanding anything about you, only that you have no clue what you are talking about in this particular situation. I understand full well I was banned for RMT activity not because I was hacked.

The point is I was told they will investigate and if they found the action causing me to get banned was done while I was hacked, my account would be released. Now do you see that this message differs from what I was told? Again I'm not posting this for some know it all to put in his 2 cents cause like I said, and again I'll make it more clear, if you were not hacked and then banned as a result, or something very similar, and gone through the weeks of bs run around they have given people like me and the OP then really, you don't know.

It is not hard for them to find out exactly what happened, therefor it's not hard for them to do the correct thing. So take your "thats the way the cookie crumbles attitude" and go post somewhere else, as you are of no help to anyone here.

It's Tuesday again!

No word from SE so I made my standard Tuesday call. I spoke with Richard again. I think he is either a manager or a team lead. He is usually a little more informed than other people in the office though he did fail to correctly file my account recovery form when I first started this process. Anyways..

He pretty much reiterated what I have been hearing up until this point. That my account was still being investigated and that I really should be seeing an email from them "soon" but could not promise any deadline.

I asked him, as I ask everytime, if there was anything else I could do to speed up the process and he stated there wasnt. Told me there was light at the end of the tunnel and good things happen to those who wait.

He is a little nicer than most of the reps so that's good.

I also asked him if calling back was a good or bad thing and he said it was good. That I should continue to check on the status of my account. Probably keeping them employed :).

That's this weeks installment of my account recovery progress.

PEACE!

They told me pretty much the same thing when I called in yesterday. Wasn't much but better than the nothing they have been telling me for 3 weeks. So maybe they are actually doing something, one can only hope.

Grats on getting your character back Jeny :D

How did someone get hacked in a day and get it back within the week? was information changed and the account moved or was it just a quick login -> ransack -> freeze -> info confirmation/pass change

Same thing here pretty much, said it's being investigated. The person I talked to little over a week ago said it should take ~2 weeks, but they really don't know. It would be nice to see at least one post of someone who had one of these banned accounts returned. The fact that I haven't seen one yet bothers me. Good luck peoples, see you next week.

Wow that's awesome. I am glad she got her account back. It's must have been a very cut and dry case because I know mine isn't going anywhere..
